The Problems With Having A Ghost Roommate

Valerie's life was.. strange, to say the least. Living in a town where Ghost attacks became common, a Ghost boy ruining her life, the A-listers kicking her out, becoming a ghost hunter, etc etc. Definitely nothing to be considered normal for most. But never in her life would she predict that the ghost boy she tried to hunt (on numerous occasions) was actually weirdly cute Danny Fenton. (Did she ever say how ironic that is?) It was more of a surprise when she let him stay in her new house. And can she say…

It's not as easy as she thought it would be.

For one, she would forget about him being there.

Valerie had come home from an exhausting day at school. She wondered if all her teachers planned on doing pop quizzes all at the same time.

She was ready to just lay on the couch and put on some mindless TV show. Just relax. And she made it far enough to sit on the couch and turn on the TV. Then, she hears this agitating voice.

"What're we watching?"

Valerie visibly flinched. But it felt like his soul jumped out of her body. Slowly, she turned her head and saw Danny looking at her curiously. He was in a black oversized Dumpty Humpty graphic tee shirt with black cargo pants, leaning back against the couch, sitting right next to her.

Danny's expression went from curious to worried. "You okay, Val?" He asked.

"I'm fine," She answered. "Were you here this whole time?" She subtly gulped as she asked and held in a groan when he nodded.

Okay, never mind. It was her sitting right next to him. She didn't even notice the boy was there until he said something. Dead silent, he would probably say. Valerie inwardly cringed at the pun before she told Danny that she didn't realize he was there since he didn't say anything.

Daniel laughed. "Probably because I was asleep until you slammed the door coming in."

Oh. Valerie apologized for waking him up and had him suggest a show that they could both watch to relax.

The ghost powers were interesting too. And while it was unnerving sometimes to see Danny just floating around, she wasn't really bothered by it.

Just whenever they acted up randomly.

Valerie was lying on her bed, a bright smile on her face as she was talking to her friends on the phone. The three girls going over their favorite parts of their "prank." It was probably childish to gossip about something as silly as that, but it was too good for them to ignore it. Especially with all of the planning that went into them.

"Did you see the look on their faces," the Latina asked through giggles.

Star's laughter rang through her ears. "Omg, those looks were priceless! Val, you have to send us that picture!"

"Already on it," Valerie admitted. She was beaming at the two shocked and angry looks from Manson and Foley. If one looked closer, one could see a reason why they were upset. "Think we should go easy on the janitor next time?"

"We probably should," Star answered.

Paulina hummed. "Wouldn't be as fun though." Valerie silently agreed. "Hey, should we p—"

Paulina was cut off by a loud shattering noise from outside her room. Following the noise was a quieter curse. Valerie was silent and so were the two on the phone. Based on that, Valerie knew they had also heard the noise. Before any of them could speak, however, she quickly said her goodbyes and hung up the phone. Valerie got up and was hurrying to the door until Danny fell through it. Literally.

"Val," he exclaimed mid-fall. (Luckily he didn't phase through the floor this time.) Danny jumped onto his feet and propped himself on the wall in front of her room door. "Val! Hey! Finished with your call? How'd it go?"

Valerie stared at the smile plastered on the halfa's face for a moment before looking him in the eyes. "What did you do?"

Danny tensed. "Wha-what? I didn't do anything. I was just… chilling."

"Then can I get something from the kitchen?"

"..what is kitchen?"

"I'm leaving," Valerie stated while passing Danny and leaving the room, the man following after with a soft 'noo.'

Valerie went straight to the kitchen and dropped her jaw at the amount of glass on the floor.

"Whoa, look at those clean dishes!" Danny spoke from behind her. He instantly shut up when given a glare. "Okay, I can explain-"

Needless to say, Daniel was put off of dish duty until he got his intangibility in order.

The last thing was his "ghostly nature" as Her and Jazz called it.

What was "ghostly nature," you ask? Danny unconsciously giving into his ghost side, putting what Jazz hypothesized into simpler terms. They didn't know why it was happening now, but it was. And it was a handful.

Danny was on the couch, his hair messy, tired eyes glowing a bright green, and a finger in his mouth to poke at his fangs. He had just gotten his floating in control and was seeing if he could fix his teeth in any way. At least that's what he told her.

Valerie was watching from the opposite side of the room. She had just finished her homework and went to check on him. Only to be introduced to that scene.

Deciding he was fine, Valerie turned to get something to drink from the kitchen. Her mistake? She turned her back to him.

But she didn't know that until it was too late.

Valerie hummed to herself as she opened the fridge and looked inside before grabbing a bottle of water. She opened it and took a sip as her eyes stayed on the items in the fridge. She could focus on dinner now since she was in the kitchen. But she didn't feel like cooking at all.

"Hey Danny," she called out as she closed the fridge. "You don't mind pizza tonight, do you?"

Silence.

Valerie raised an eyebrow and looked in the living room. "Danny?" There was no one on the couch. Odd. Maybe he went to the bathroom to check his dental work. Shrugging, Valerie went to the house phone and called the number of the pizza place.

Midway into her order, the hallway suddenly chilled. Lights cut out soon after. The more she went on, the colder the apartment got. Up until she said her thanks and was about to hang up the phone. It was then that a cold object touched her at the base of her neck, making her yelp in surprise. Valerie hung up the phone and was about to run until a pair of arms wrapped around her waist.

"Gotcha," an echoey voice slurred from behind her. "And you said it wasn't going to be easy next time around."

Valerie was muttering curses as she tried to get out of their grip. "It wouldn't have been if you didn't cheat!"

"Cheat? I would never~"

"I was on the phone!"

The figure behind her shrugged. "Not my fault you weren't paying attention."

Valerie growled but stopped struggling. Turning her head around to look behind her, at the same tune the lights flickered back on, and she sighed. "You're freezing, Danny."

"Thank you," he beamed. His eyes returned to its azure color. "Got any pepperoni?"

"Not a compliment," she sighed. "..and yes."

In conclusion, being temporary roommates with a ghost wasn't as peaceful as some might think. Especially when said ghost was only half-ghost and happened to be your ex/enemy. But seeing how stressful the past year was, a few problems like this was nothing she couldn't handle.

Besides…

It wasn't all bad.

Was this me realizing we haven't had many Danny x Valerie moments and tried to fix it? ..maybe. Did I do it well? No. Will I do another one? Hopefully not. But only time will tell.

I hope these little scenarios were enough to keep you all entertained for a while.

One thing I will say, even though this is filler. They're still important to note for other things

That's all for today.

Hope you guys have a great rest of your day/night and remember to hydrate yourselves!

See you guys next time!
