While police and government officials were busy with distraction and terror of Main Land things in the Zones all three of them were getting worse and worse every day. Because the only bridge was still closed down and people of Zones were stuck on one side of the city everyone on the Main Land seemed forgot about them. Crime in the Zone 3 skyrocketed, a lot of businesses closed down and bordered up their front windows. Small police department didn't have resources to help everyone. The Zone's fire department had only two cars and people were working twenty four hours a day. The worst thing was that people weren't sure if they were going to be paid because a budget still belong to Main Land fire and police department offices and Zones financing was coming from the city government which was in terrible shape at this point. People worked for free. They didn't have much choice.
The only news channel in the Zone 3 with five people working in it was constantly on the go. Logan and his crew had only two-three hours of sleep every day. They got a hold of dispatcher's radio signal and could follow police and fire calls, sometimes they were on the scene before the police.
Once Logan risking his life saved an old woman and her grandchild from the burning house. That house burned down completely by the time one of the fire department's car got there. Nobody blamed firemen nor police department all blame was towards criminals and gangs who went on rampage. White Shadow disappeared after the bridges bombing on the Main Land and chaos was all over the Zones.
On top of burning houses, looting and shootings police suspected a serial killer on the loose but they asked news to keep it down for a while. This killer approximately killed five or six people. His way of killing was simple it was a baseball bat and he was sneaking on people in their homes. Usually his victims were people who lived alone. He was entering through the back door and he probably had some tools to open doors because there were no signs of breaking in. First, police thought victims knew the killer and let him inside their homes but further analysis shown that back doors were open with a special locksmith equipment. Police made an announcement for people who lived alone to move in with somebody but they made it seem as a measure agains violence in the streets. "People who stick together have less chance to be attacked or robbed compare with those folks who live alone." - said a chief of the Zone's police department.
Zone's library was reopened but it had only few visitors a day including Logan's team. They still were holding their meetings in there and worked on their videos. All three Zones had to close down schools and let children stay home because of the violence. Overall people of Zones were terrified not less than people of the Main Land.
