Plot: Bravelands fanfic.- not technically Warriors but it was also written by Erin Hunter ( and doesn't have a fan fiction category yet.) this is a short Drabble set before sky meets the vultures in Bravelands book 2: Code Of Honor. Slight Spoilers for Code Of Honor. I made up the name of the blind vulture. according to Braveland Wikia Vulture Mountain is the mountain where Sky meets the blind vulture and drinks from the pool.

Windrider felt a slight cool breeze that traveled across the vast Bravelands ruffle her feathers and ripple the night a . It wasn't strong enough to knock the wise vulture flock leader from her perch on the tree branch she was on or to make Great Mother's tusk fall. She watched the young elephants and the rhinoceros sleep.
The vulture looked at the form of the young elephant. {Sky} she thought to herself. She'd heard the name from the other young elephant at the Elephants' Place Of Our Ancestors. From the Skytongue she'd heard on the wind little Sky had traveled a long way to the sacred site by herself for the Great Spirits sake. Windrider had seen the youngster with Great Mother at the Great Gathering and heard how close she'd been with the wise old elephant.
She knew that the young she elephant-had been chosen for a great destiny. What that fate was she couldn't foresee or tell. She was as perplexed about Sky as she had been about that long ago vision she'd had when she saw that young lion cub. All she knew was that she had to bring young Sky to the Sacred Mountain to meet with Sightseer, the guardian of the Pool.
She recalled what Sightseer had told her: "The young she elephant- the one called Sky Strider is unusual for an elephant. She is the caught of Mist Strider and the granddaughter of Great Mother Sun r. she has a different path set out for her that curse sharply away from a typical elephant's destiny She is currently housing the Great Spirit but is simply it's hold until a True Great Parent can be found. ."
She had been shocked to hear that Stinger Crownleaf wasn't the true Great Parent . "but Sightseer,.. does that mean Stronghide is not the Great Parent after all? " she'd asked.
the old blind vulture nodded. "He is as much the Great Parent as the cruel lion Titan Titanpride is gentle hearted. No .. Windrider.. Stronghide is not the Great Parent .. surely in your heart you have doubted his claim. He would have to be summoned up here to drink from the pool but i have not heard a thing. i believe he sought revenge on Great Mother for not helping his daughter Brighteyeswhen she was ill. Little Sky must realize the truth and have the power to temporarily understand us, For since Great Mother passed without naming an heir she is our closest link to finding the next Great Parent of the Bravelands. and restoring peace and order. you must bring her here. To do that there is only on thing you must do to get her to follow you: steal Great Mother's tusk. "
Windrider sighed as a breeze ruffled her old feathers and brought her back to reality . " I am sorry I had to do that ,Great Mother . ," she whispered to the sky dotted night sky . "Sky has to find out the truth and it was the only way i could get her to follow me."
A small breeze carrying Great Mother's gentle voice drifted by the old vulture. " I forgive you my old friend. What must be done must be done…" Then the breeze and voice vanished.
{i can't foresee the future but things tend to have a reason for happening } the vulture thought and then looked to the star dotted sky. Not much time had passed since Great Mother's tragic passing and the animals of Bravelands were in a state of confusion and despair without a Great Parent to guide them. The land needed a Great Parent soon. " Great Spirit, hear my prayer.. please guide us to a new Great Parent soon."
