Summary:
Duel Academy, the school built by Seto Kaiba to foster a new generation of talented duelists is one of the greatest institutions in the world... that said, with the knowledge of three dangerous cards sealed under the school it might be a good idea if someone there was able to keep an eye on things and let Kaiba know what's going on at Academy Island. Perhaps, the young boy with the new Kuriboh monster? He'll need a special deck to use for emergencies but maybe this Jaden Yuki can keep Duel Academy running smoothly while enjoying his special entrance?

It was an early morning through Duel Academy not a school day where the students are doing some things like studying, dueling, and other things. But a dorm is getting visited by a rather important party.
In Alexis' Room...
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
A rather loud knocking woke up Jaden, and Alexis both dressed in PJs after the night from the duel with Titan along with Jaden having a chance to treat Alexis more like a queen.
"One second." Alexis mentioned sleepily before walking over to the door and opening it only for her eyes to widen.
It was some suited men in uniforms where a woman questioned to her. "Alexis Rhodes?"
"Yes..." she nodded nervously recognizing them.
"Then you, and Jaden Yuki within your room are under arrest." the woman stated over with a glare. "Get dressed, and come with us to the Chancellor's office."
Alexis flinched hearing that but nodded. "I... I understand."
"Huh, Alexis?" Jaden asked sitting up. "What's going on?"
"Jaden get dressed. We're needed at the Chancellor's office." Alexis closed the door walking to the bathroom to change.
Jaden blinked but nodded just as Mindy and Jasmine walked in.
"What's going on, I thought you had permission to stay with Alexis so why is the Disciplinary Action Squad here?" Jasmine frowned.
"I think... it was cause of the Abandoned Dorm." Alexis said over from the bathroom overhearing.
"The abandoned... hold on that could get you expelled. What are you going to do Lex?" Mindy asked her while Jaden's eyes widened hearing that.
"I don't know." Alexis walked out with a frown. "But hopefully me, and Jaden can convince Chancellor Sheppard that we didn't had a choice from that Titan creep."
"I hope so." Jasmine frowned hugging her. "They're waiting downstairs for you two."
Alexis nodded before Jaden walked in the bathroom to dress up, and after that they walked out going with the Disciplinary Action Squad eventually arriving at Chancellor Sheppard's office with Dr. Crowler who turned over noticing them as he smirked over but frowned seeing Alexis among them but shrugged turning to Jaden. "Well Jaden, you went up, and wasted whatever chance you had huh?"
"What do you mean?" Jaden asked him.
"One of our informants caught you into the Abandoned Dorm." Leaving himself out that he was involved Dr. Crowler began his statement. "The punishment for trespassing in such a place is EXPULSION." He then turned to Alexis. "You however Miss Rhodes, knowing the kind of student you are, I managed to convince Chancellor Sheppard to excuse you from expulsion, and instead given a very strict warning that cannot be repeated."
Alexis looked shocked before Jaden frowned.
"Expelled, but that can't be right." he pointed out turning to Chancellor Sheppard. "I have permission to go to that dorm and Alexis was kidnapped."
"Permission? Kidnapping? What are you talking about?" Sheppard looks confused from this. "Permission from who?"
Jaden frowned glancing at the Disciplinary Action Squad members. "From... my exception."
"And what's this about a kidnapping?" Dr. Crowler placed his hands on his hips.
Alexis frowned. "Exactly what it sounds like, some creep in a mask ambushed me and dragged me into the Abandoned Dorm. He knocked me out and put me in a coffin before Jaden beat him in a duel and got me to safety. That's also why he was in my room, he wanted to make sure I was alright."
Knowing it was Titan who kidnapped Alexis, Dr. Crowler frowned over. "Well the punishment will still be carried out as I feel Jaden is a hindrance, and-"
Knock Knock Knock.
"Who is it?"
"Who do you think Crowler?" a familiar voice asked behind the door.
"Mr. Kaiba!?" Dr. Crowler cried in shock before opening the door. "Please come in."
Kaiba himself with Serenity, Mokuba, and Serenity holding a 5 year old girl with hair the same color as Kaiba's but in Serenity's style was at the door as Kaiba nodded waking in with his brother, wife, and daughter before he turned to the Disciplinary Action Squad. "Give us some privacy. We with the students have important business to discuss."
"Sir." the woman nodded as they left the room.
"Mr. Kaiba, it is a surprise to see you here." Sheppard admitted towards them.
"Well important circumstances came up so I have to see what the fuss is about." Kaiba explained over before turning to the two teens. "But first some introductions?" Serenity softly lowered down placing the girl down where she stands up. "Jaden, Alexis, this is my daughter. Naomi Kaiba."
"Come on Naomi say hi." Serenity smiled patting her head.
"Hello." Naomi voiced over towards the two.
"Wow you can say hello. Your a big girl aren't you?" Alexis smiled over which made Naomi giggled happily.
Jaden smiled kneeling down and offering her his hand. "Nice to meet you Naomi. I'm Jaden Yuki."
"Hi!" Naomi takes his hand in both of hers shaking it.
Jaden smiled warmly at that before standing up and turning to Kaiba with a more serious expression. "Sorry about last night."
"I did tell you to inform me if anything happens." Dr. Crowler widen his eyes looking at Kaiba before said man glared at Dr. Crowler. "And the fact that this 'Shadow Duelist' he told me of kidnapped a fellow student, and nearly sent them both to the Shadow Realm which you call him a hindrance?"
"Well uh... Mr. Kaiba with his time here-"
"It's questionable if he truly belongs here isn't it?" Kaiba guessed over what Dr. Crowler was gonna say before he closed his eyes. "I'm pretty sure that he already proved himself in the Advancement Exams but just to make sure so you get the message, let's do what you want to do for a change." This surprised everyone before Kaiba looked over to Jaden. "I'm counting on you to do what you know on doing. I'm putting expectations on you, and now is your chance to prove it well." It sounded like he has faith in Jaden in his own way, daring him to prove himself if he does belong to Duel Academy.
Jaden's eyes widened before he grinned. "Right, I won't let you down."
"Though, what are you going to have him do?" Serenity asked Dr. Crowler calmly.
Dr. Crowler at that cleared his throat eager to have a chance that Jaden doesn't belong to Duel Academy. "W-Well, since we can't give the impression we're cold tyrants, I throw a sporting event."
"Get to the point."
"A-A high skates duel." Dr. Crowler answered from Kaiba telling him to say what he has to say. "Win then he gets out scot-free. Lose then he's expelled. At the end of the week." Which basically means Jaden needs to win a match so that he can stay in Duel Academy but Alexis finds this isn't fair since she is getting a warning Jaden is having the odds against him since she feels she's the most guilty from wanting to find her brother in the Abandoned Dorm.
"Wait a second." Alexis pointed out. "The only reason Jaden went into the dorm was because of me... if anyone should be punished I was more guilty than he was."
"Being kidnapped is hardly a reason to be punished... you weren't..." Dr. Crowler started only for Alexis to frown.
"I was at the Abandoned Dorm before I was kidnapped." she admitted.
"You were?" Sheppard blinked over.
"Alexis, this warning won't be repeated, so please take it before you regret it later." Dr. Crowler tries again to convince Alexis not to take the punishment too certainly not wanting one of his most proud Obelisks to be kicked out.
"Actually, I've been going to the abandoned dorm a lot... because of my brother." Alexis admitted.
Sheppard's eyes narrowed to a sad expression knowing that Alexis misses Atticus a lot, and wanted to try finding him so she went to the Abandoned Dorm a lot to find clues under there noses.
"So my decision is I won't take it..."
Dr. Crowler frowned over from these confessions where a warning is no longer the logic choice to make where there is only one left. "...Very well Alexis. I had faith in you from being a top student... but from these acts, you've forced my hand. You will endure the same punishment like Jaden."
"I understand." she nodded calmly.
"Don't worry Alexis, I'm sure we'll do fine." Jaden grinned reassuringly.
"I'll find some decent opponents in that case." Sheppard at that decides to try finding some opponents for there caliber for a fair duel.
Dr. Crowler however doesn't think of giving much of a fair chance since this is his chance for Jaden to get lost. "Oh don't worry yourself Chancellor, I already know the perfect duo who will duel them. We just wait for the weekend for there arrival."
"I see, in that case I might stay until the match... I trust that's acceptable?" Kaiba asked Sheppard.
"Of course Mr. Kaiba. I will prepare some rooms for you, and your family until then." Sheppard agreed with a nod.
Kaiba nodded as his family walked out only for Serenity to pause. "I'm sorry about your brother."
Alexis looked down before looking over to Serenity. "...Thank you Mrs. Kaiba."
She walked over and gave Alexis a gentle hug before following the rest of her family. They exit out leaving the four alone before Sheppard turned to Jaden, and Alexis. "Well you two." They looked at Sheppard who said over. "You have a lot on your hands. So I'm giving you permission as Chancellor to take time off to get your Decks ready for the end of the week to prepare for your duel. Use your time well."
"Right, we will." Jaden nodded.
So with that they exit the office arriving back at the Obelisk Blue Girls dorm where they explained it over to Jasmine, Mindy, and along with Syrus, and Chumley who Jaden called over to inform them about the big match.
"So if you two lose, you're going to be expelled?" Syrus asked in shock.
"Yeah, that pretty much sums it up." Alexis confirmed.
"With Kaiba, and his family spectating that's gonna be a lot of pressure." Jasmine frowned.
"Well, maybe if its a tag duel we could help you two practice?" Mindy suggested. "We're not as good as you Alexis, but we could at least help you guys come up with some strategies right?"
They nodded appreciating this before Syrus looked down. "Well... I'm not the right person... but I think I know someone who can help you train."
"Really, who?" Jaden asked him. "I mean, you're an awesome duelist Sy... and you're my friend so I know you can help out a lot."
"...He knows I stink, and he's a lot better." Alexis instantly knows who Syrus is talking about.
"Zane, the top student at the academy." Alexis frowned. "He's definitely skilled, but anyone can help."
"He's your best bet... he knows I'm the worst at Duel Academy, and he's the best..." Syrus was still looking down saddened.
Jaden frowned. "You're not the worst at Duel Academy Sy. You just need a little confidence boost."
"Alexis, Zane is probably at the lighthouse." Jasmine turned to Alexis. "Check to see if he's interested to help you, and him out."
"It's worth a try, come on." she mentioned to Jaden and Syrus as Syrus frowned closing his eyes.
Flashback...
A younger Syrus was dueling as he grinned drawing a card. "Awesome I drew my best card, I activate the spell Power..."
"Stop!" a voice declared startling Syrus as a older boy walked to Syrus' opponent handing him a card, "This duel never happened. Just take this, and walk away."
"Hey sweet card! You got yourself a deal." the opponent grinned taking the card, and walked off.
"Huh, what did you do that for Zane?" Syrus asked in confusion. "I was about to win the duel."
"No you weren't. And I never would've given you Power Bond had I know you were going to misplay it." Zane told him not turning around.
"Misplay it?" Syrus asked in confusion.
"Yes. This was the card your opponent had on the field face-down." Zane said showing a trap to Syrus known as Spellbinding Circle.
Syrus's eyes widened. "Wait, but if he had that and I had used Power Bond..."
"That's right. A very powerful trap, and when it's sprung the monster it ensnares can't attack or change battle mode. So you've summoned your Fusion Monster with Power Bond, and it's attack points would have doubled. But then Spellbinding Circle would have prevented you from attacking with him, and then you would've been taking a hit to your Life Points at the end of your turn for having used Power Bond." Zane answered before turning to stare sternly as he then scold, "You weren't thinking Syrus. You didn't taken in account the face-down card, and you didn't taken in account Power Bond's damage effect. You may know how to use the card, but there's more to Dueling then simply that!"
That made Syrus knelled ashamed.
Flashback End...
Seeing his expression Jaden frowned. "Sy, what's wrong?"
"Just... thinking of an example why I stink." Syrus admitted over.
"You don't stink." Jaden told him. "Trust me Sy."
They walked together eventually arriving at the lighthouse where Zane himself stands staring off at the ocean with crossed arms. Seeing him Syrus shuddered as Alexis walked up to him. "Zane."
"Alexis. I've heard from Chancellor Sheppard you got caught in the Abandoned Dorm." Zane voiced over not turning around.
"Yeah, and so did Jaden." Alexis admitted frowning.
"Who is with you now with Syrus." Zane turned around staring at the three.
"Jasmine and Mindy, Chumley, and Jaden." Alexis answered.
"And we want to train to be ready for this weekend." Jaden stated to Zane. "Syrus told us your the best person to train with to be ready."
"Oh he did, did he?" Zane looked over to Syrus. "So you don't feel confident enough to train them yourself?"
"I wouldn't be any help." Syrus frowned.
Zane closed his eyes. "You were honest, and made the right call." Syrus looked down hearing that while Jaden frowned. "Now, I'm not sure about this training thing but I actually had been looking an excuse for you Jaden."
"For me?" Jaden asked curiously hearing that.
"Despite that you lost, you managed to get a second chance and had a new Deck handy." Zane answered over to him. "I had been looking for a reason how I can challenge you myself to see how I fare against your new Deck. And this seems to be the right time for that."
"Wrong." mentioned a familiar voice. "I've heard quite a bit about you Truesdale."
Overhearing that they all looked to see Kaiba, and his family arrived behind Jaden, and the others.
"Kaiba..." Jaden said surprised as said man walked passed him, Alexis, Syrus, Mindy, Jasmine, Syrus, and Chumley staring at Zane.
"You must be Zane Truesdale, the top student at Duel Academy, I've heard quite a bit about you." Kaiba told him calmly.
Zane stared over at Kaiba with crossed arms. "So you know what I am capable of?"
"I know what I've been told, but I intend on finding out if that's true." Kaiba replied. "An unofficial match right here and now, do you accept?"
"Seto Kaiba is going to duel my brother?" Syrus questioned in disbelief. "I must be dreaming."
Zane stared over before he then grinned. "Me duel you? Why not? This'll be interesting where this can lead."
"Alright, then since I challenge you you can decide who goes first." Kaiba replied calmly.
They walked further where Zane's back is to the ocean while Kaiba stands a few feet away while everyone watches on eager for the duel.
"DUEL!"

"A useful ability." Kaiba noted. "So now what do you plan on doing with that dragon of yours?"
"First is summoning it's core. Literally Cyber Dragon Core." Zane places a second monster showing a small snake like monster with a large orange core on it's chest raising beside Cyber Dragon.

"Not quite, I use the trap card Attack Guidance Armor!" Kaiba countered.

"This spell requires me to Tribute 2 Cyber Dragons." Both his monsters vanished as Cyber Dragon's Strident Blast missed hitting the ocean behind Zane. "So now the attack target is lost which means Attack Guidance Armor resolves without effect."
Kaiba smirked. "Not bad, you had a counter ready for your own attack."
Syrus looked down thinking he would never be able to play at that level only for Jaden to put a hand on his shoulder. "Did you see that Sy?"
"See what?"
"Watch more, and you'll find out." Jaden figured to let Syrus see more, and get something from this match.
"Well now, I can summon Cyber Laser Dragon from my Deck." Zane takes a card placing it where what emerged was a stronger Cyber Dragon with a laser built into it's tail.

Opening it's jaw showing a laser Laser Dragon blasted over at Assault Wyvern. Kaiba's dragon shattered as he looked on calmly.

Laser Dragon flew behind Zane readying as the young man takes another card. "Then I use the spell, Different Dimension Capsule."
A coffin appeared near him.

"He could've flinched a little..." Jaden is a little impressed Zane didn't physically moved or react to the attack that had happened.
"That's my brother for you." Syrus admitted.
"I'll end my turn there, but I hope you can do more than that." Kaiba mentioned to Zane.

"Well now it's my turn." Zane drew looking over as the first Standby Phase had passed. "First I use Cyber Repair Plant, and Cyber Emergency."

So he takes two cards showing them, one is Cyber Dragon, and the other a serpent like monster known as Cyber Valley.
Kaiba nodded calmly seeing that. "Alright then."
"Next with my field clear, I can use Core's ability to summon Cyber Dragon from my Deck." Placing the card an identical Cyber Dragon popped up roaring.

"This card allows me to Fusion Summon a monster that uses Cyber Dragon by shuffling the needed cards from either my field or face-up in banishment but only that monster can attack this turn." Zane explained that he was gathering the materials for this card.
"Oh, and what exactly do you plan on summoning?" Kaiba inquired hearing that.

She blinked before pausing and giggling. "Oh yeah."
Zane places down a card before looking up. "It's your turn now Kaiba... and I'm being bold here to you but I'll tell you now, you don't beat me now, your done."

The three headed Dragon charged a large lightning blast before firing over towards Zans's Fusion Monster who despite the impressive defense it has was quickly destroyed while Zane watches. "Destroying Eternity Dragon in fact helps me out in the long run. Since when it's destroyed, I can activate it's last ability."
"Another ability?" Serenity inquired.
"As Eternity Dragon was destroyed, I take the Cyber Dragon used to summon it, and bring it out." Zane takes the card from his Deck placing it which made the lessar Dragon rose up roaring a metallic screech.

"Maybe not but this will." After drawing Zane reached his hand to the side where the sarcophagus from Different Dimension Capsule rose from the ground. "It's been two turns which means the card I've stored within the capsule is added to my hand."
"That can only be one card." Syrus frowned as Kaiba looked on.
"So what card did you add?" he inquired.
"Your about to find out." Placing the added card to his hand Zane grabbed a different card. "Before that however by discarding a monster, I can summon Cyber Dragon Nachster!"
Raising beside the Dragon was a small futuristic looking version was blue patches, and folding holographic wings growling.

"Here it comes." Syrus whispered nervously. "Zane's best card."

His three mechanical dragons on the field rose up fixing together in a very bright light. Everyone shielded their eyes except for Kaiba.

As the light faded something rose up behind Zane revealing itself as a limbless giant silver Dragon having large folding wings, a green orb on it's chest, and three mechanical heads of different design all roaring a challenge at Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.

Coated in electricity Cyber End's power grew exponentially.

"What the... 8000!?" Chumley was flabbergasted at the amount of attack points Cyber End now has.

"Yeah, and at the end of Zane's turn he will take Power Bond's nasty side effect." Chumps brought up.
"Side effect?" Jaden figured there's a catch to Power Bond so he's curious what the price is.
"Zane loses life points equal to the attack points his monster gained, which means since Cyber End Dragon gained 4000 points Zane takes 4000 points of damage." Alexis explained.
"Of course those consequences won't be until end of turn. Which means nothing is stopping Cyber End from attacking. Cyber End Dragon attack Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" The three heads charge a powerful blast. "Super Strident Blaze!" The heads all fired giant blue blasts at Blue-Eyes Ultimate.
Kaiba braced himself as the blast destroyed his dragon.

Zane then takes a card from his hand. "Then Main Phase 2, I summon this Cyber Kirin!"
In front of him a small mechanical hound rose up.

Kaiba smirked over. "I'm glad you didn't disappoint. Had that been your last move to destroy yourself, that be embarrassing."
"Of course." Zane agreed over. "How I done this is respecting my cards, my opponents, and myself. And of course is by knowing how to play my cards not just using them."
That sentence was not lost to Syrus who blinked.
"Knowing how to play your cards?" he repeated hearing that.
Looking over at the last two cards in his hand Zane didn't had another thing he can have this turn so he looked over to Kaiba. "Your move Kaiba."

A Dragon larger then Blue-Eyes Ultimate rose up almost the same roaring loud while everyone stared in shock while Zane looked up towards it.
"This is my new ultimate monster." Kaiba smirked.
"Whoa... It's power feels immense." Jaden can sense the kind of power this Dragon feels probably at least doubled of the original Blue-Eyes Ultimate that he's almost afraid to know what it can do.
"Now, there's one move not many duelists know about so you should all pay attention." Kaiba told them. "I play the spell card De-Fusion!"

"Normally they would..." They looked over at Jaden. "But... It only happens if you have those monsters in your graveyard. Since they aren't in Kaiba's graveyard that means that-"
"Zane can't summon anything!" Syrus cried in shock realizing Zane was defenseless.
"Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, attack him directly. Hyper Neutron Blast!" Kaiba called.
The stronger Dragon charged a blast riding it as Zane stared being enveloped.

Despite he lost Zane looked content giving a soft grin to Kaiba. "Satisfied?"
"Definitely, I expected a lot from you and you didn't disappoint though I have a feeling you have even more than that." Kaiba mentioned calmly.
Zane drew his next card, and grinned. "If I lasted that turn, I'd be able to use this card."
"What card?" Mokuba asked him.
Zane shows it where is a card having an explosion in it's artwork labled, Overload Fusion.
"Well, I'm staying on the island for a few days so we might just have that rematch." Kaiba told him with a smirk. "I have a few cards you haven't seen myself including two more powerful dragons."
Zane grinned himself before turning to Jaden. "As for you Jaden."
"Me?" Jaden asked curiously.
"We're still gonna have our match later on, be certain of that. Against your Deck you used on Chazz, I want to see how my Deck fares." Zane stated to him before turning to his brother. "And Syrus..." Said boy freeze before Zane closed his eyes. "I wish you luck on your potential." With that, and a wave he walked off.

Ulrich362: Both Zane and Kaiba have more cards they could use but for a first duel they showed their respective skills. That said, next chapter might be something a bit different.

Ulrich362: Well, Syrus and Jaden won't have their practice duel for the tag-match... I think it might be fun to hear about how Seto and Serenity fell in love and got married... I'm sure Naomi will like to hear the story again.
