Friday morning at school Logan walks up to Jett's desk and sighs*
"Alright, I'll do it. I'll tutor you but we do this on my terms. You'll have to listen to me, not complain, and be on time for our sessions if you have a problem with any of that I'll walk away right now"
"You're serious? You'll tutor me?" Jett asks surprised
"Yes only if you agree to those terms" Logan answers
"Ok," Jett says
"Logan, are you sure you can trust him?" Camille says concerned
"I don't trust him 100% but if I can help him avoid being an academic failure which could severely affect his career then tutoring him is the solution," Logan says sitting at his desk
"He's so insufferable," Camille says
"I know but I don't want him to fail just because he's a jerk," Logan says
"Maybe I should come along to your tutoring sessions with him," Camille says
"Cami I'll be fine. I know he's not gonna hurt me. He's not that evil" Logan says
If it makes you feel any better you can come to the first one. It'll be out in the fresh air at Palm Woods Park. I know it rained hard last night but it's nice and sunny now
"Ok, I'll come and I'll be watching and waiting for him to screw up. He's planning something" Camille says
During lunch Katie and Tyler play tag. The Jennifers think they're being annoying*
"Will you stop that?" The 1st Jennifer says
"You want us to stop having fun outside?" Katie asks confused
"Just stop running around in this general area," The 2nd Jennifer says
"So you want us to stop playing tag in a park where it's appropriate to do it?" Tyler asks
"Yeah you're both very annoying," The 3rd Jennifer says
"Listen you three brats I don't know why you think this is your land to own but Tyler and I are playing as children should be outside in a park. So whatever the problem is can be solved by you walking away so you're not bothered anymore" Katie says irritated
The three teenage girls leave speechless*
Later that afternoon in Apartment 2J Logan is getting ready for his tutoring session with Jett*
"You know you don't owe him this. You don't owe him anything. His academic choices aren't your responsibility. He's the one who doesn't care." Kendall says
"I know Kenny but I feel like I just gotta help" Logan responds looking for some books
Have you seen my Geometry and AP Calculus books? I left them on the shelf where they always are
"No, I haven't seen you use them in a while. Maybe my mom moved them to another location to help you find them more easily. Mom!" Kendall says
"Yes, sweetie?" She says walking out of the bedroom area in a yoga outfit
"Logan can't find his Geometry and AP Calculus books," Her son says
"I forgot to tell you this earlier Logan but I put them in a bag for you already. You told me those were the subjects Jett needed help with so I went ahead and packed them for you but it slipped my mind that I had done it. Sorry" Ms. Knight says
"That's ok Ms. Knight. Thank you for helping me. Kendall, I'll meet you and the guys later at the community center. I'll be fine with Jett. Cami is gonna join us "Logan assures his tall blonde buddy
"Ok," Kendall says feeling better but still worried about him
They all go their separate ways to their acquired destinations*
At Palm Woods Park*
"He's not here. Typical and as expected. I told him to be here on time" Logan says annoyed
"I knew this was a bad idea, Logan. He's not coming." Camille says
"I'll give him five more minutes," Logan says
Maybe there's a genuine reason he's late
"I highly doubt it's a logical genuine reason," Camille says rolling her eyes
After 5 minutes they start getting ready to leave but hear him coming*
"I'm here," Jett says
"You're very late," Logan says
I even gave you the benefit of the doubt. You need to get here on time. I've got other things to do. You're not the only one with a life
"OK chill. I'll do better next time" Jett says sitting down
I'm only late because I was watching my recent interview for New Town High
"Whatever that's not even a normal reason to be late. Anyway let's just get this over with "Logan says
"You have your books on what I need help with?" Jett asks surprised
"Yeah" Logan answers
"Ok, why is she here?" Jett says glancing at Camille
"She wanted to watch you to make sure you don't give a stomach ulcer with your unruly behavior. Will that be a problem?" Logan says frowning at him
"No," Jett says
"Good let's get started," Logan says
Is the problem calculating the numbers to get the answer?
"No, it's that I don't want to do the work at all. Math sucks" Jett says
"Math is a universal subject everyone should learn even if they don't like it," Logan says
"Then you shouldn't have any problem doing the work for me," Jett says
"I'm not going to do it for you. I'm teaching you how to do it yourself so that you won't need me as a tutor. We both know this situation isn't pleasant for either of us "Logan says
"Fine," Jett says
"I'm going to get us some lemonade," Camille says
"I would love some too. With lots of ice, "Jett says
"Do I look like a waitress to you? Get your lemonade with your own money "Camille says disgusted by his poor manners
"What's wrong with you getting it?" Jett says
"You're not my boyfriend. I'm getting one for me and one for Logan. That's it. "Camille says walking away frustrated
"You need to be more polite to her," Logan says
You can't just demand her to get your lemonade. You were rude and mean to her and when she comes back you will apologize" Logan says sternly
"Why should I listen to you?" Jett says
Leans forward with a serious face*
"Because I'm the only one who can get you a freakin A," Logan says
"Here you go my lovely dimpled prince," Camille says giving him a cup and then sipping from hers
"Thanks. How much do I owe you?" Logan says
"Nothing I paid for both," Camille says
"You sure you don't want me to pay you back?" Logan says
"Yeah, I'm sure," Camille says
"Ok, Jett has something very important to tell you," Logan says
"I'm sorry I was rude to you today and yesterday. You're a great actress. I was wrong to offend you." Jett says in a monotone
"That was the most the most unenthusiastic apology ever. You put zero effort into it because you were told to do it. You're not remorseful but fine I accept. Just so you know next time you make me cry in class you'll have to deal with my dad. "Camille says
"He's an average-looking guy. How is he scary?" Jett says
"He's got a 7th-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He's been practicing and taking classes since I was 5. He knows his stuff and will come for you. Is he tough enough for you now? "Camille says raising an eyebrow and satisfied by his sudden fear of her father.
"Jett looks at the brunette-haired couple and rethinks his attitude and sighs." I'm truly sorry and will be more respectful to you both and the rest of the kids at the Palm Woods.
"That'll take a miracle to happen but okay, "Logan says
After an hour their tutoring session is over*
At the community center most of the hanging decorations and other items that go high up have been put in place. Kendall, James, and Carlos are painting cardboard cutouts of spooky creatures*
"Jett didn't show up?" James asks
"He did but he was late and acted so nonchalantly about it "Logan replies
I think he and I have a better understanding after he tried to demand Camille buy him lemonade and she told him about her dad's martial arts skills
"He backed off after that? "Kendall asks
"Yeah" "Logan says
"Even I still wouldn't trust him and I trust a lot of people," Carlos says
"We know buddy," Logan says
When they're done they go home*
