Chapter Two-hundred and sixty-nine: The Pocketwatch Sector, part three

The reborn trainers, still in Kanto, had made their way to Saffron City. In recent events, they helped to fend off a Team Scorn attack in the area of Fuchsia City where the criminals were harassing the site of the production for a documentary being made detailing the downfall of the Pokémon League Admissions Exams because it had been discovered said Exams were run by corrupt persons. Granted, Team Scorn managed to get what they said was their goal, but no-one was seriously hurt, and things for the production of the documentary, although delayed a bit, weren't stopped wholesale.

...Aside from how Sabrina, the Saffron City gym leader, a rising actress and Trip's next Ultra Class opponent in the current season of the World Coronation Series, had been murdered. Because of this, the reborn trainers went right to Saffron City to learn what all they could about the situation. What made matters worse was that it was clear to Dawn, when she and the others heard of stories concerning other persons known to have notable psychic powers had also been put six feet under by Team Scorn efforts, that Team Scorn was clearly acting to prevent psychic powers from revealing their secrets.

"To be honest," Kenny began as he and the others made their way to the Saffron City gym, "I'm surprised that none of us had thought to use a person with psychic powers like that to try to divine some of Team Scorn's secrets before, particularly the identities of high ranking members who are currently unknown at this time."

Dawn's face showed a grimacing expression of grim regret. "...From what breaking news stories I've seen, Team Scorn had been VERY thorough in their act of sealing away peoples' ability to use psychic powers against them."

"And we're going to the Saffron City gym anyway because..." Mina asked, expecting to be filled in.

"We're hoping that Sabrina may have had the foresight to foresee some visions of what secrets Team Scorn may be hiding," Trip began to explain, "And write them down before hiding them away. That way, she can still expose some info on Team Scorn despite being gone now." Sabrina's murder, in addition to depriving the heroes of a very valuable power to employ against Team Scorn, also required the production of the documentary on the downfall of the Pokémon League Admissions Exams to have to recast Sabrina's role. Speaking of, although Sabrina's now gone, she'll live on in the movies she had starred in while still alive.

One of said movies was her debut as an actress, a film out of Kenny Harris Studios.

When the reborn trainers got to the Saffron City gym, they were greeted by a female gym trainer dressed in the outfit for female Psychics in the gen six X and Y games. Aside from that outfit, the girl herself had long purplish hair and she was rather slender. Her expression was cute and hopeful under normal circumstances, but right now it showed somber heartbreak. "Excuse me, but we came here when we heard what happened," Dawn said, "My group and I-"

"-Are Dawn Berlitz and her companions," the female Psychic said, "Yes, Sabrina had told me a short while ago that she had a vision of you guys coming by at a point in the near future where she would not be around. I... guess this is what she meant." Gesturing to herself, the female Psychic said, "My name is Rika. Sabrina had also told me to hand you guys something on the basis she had foreseen she wouldn't be able to bring it to you herself. Come."

Curious, the reborn trainers followed the now identified Rika into the Saffron City gym. After making their to a room located near the back, the reborn trainers saw that it was an office room of sorts. Rika searched a bookshelf, found a book laying flat against the back of the bookshelf hidden behind a row of books, and gave said hidden book to the reborn trainers. Opening the hidden book, Dawn saw that it was a personal journal, filled with someone's personal writings.

"...This is intel on Team Scorn," Dawn said, drawing looks of piqued interest out of the other reborn trainers.

Rika nodded once in the affirmative. "Indeed. Sabrina, after she foresaw a vision where she wouldn't be around to help directly, focused her powers to foresee what all she could about Team Scorn so she could write it down and have it saved for after she was gone." Gesturing to the personal journal that Dawn held, Rika went on, "That journal contains a written record of what all Sabrina had foreseen. Hopefully it'll be of some use to those fighting against Team Scorn."

It did indeed give the reborn trainers some insight on what all Team Scorn is up to, as well as some of their future acts. To Dawn's shock, there was a passage about Team Scorn being involved in a region that will end up being rendered utterly uninhabitable for humans, although Sabrina noted she had no idea if Team Scorn will end up being the party responsible for rendering said land uninhabitable for humans. Regardless, Dawn felt that Sabrina had foreseen the region-wrecking threat that the reborn trainers caught all of Sinnoh's lore to get to Arceus for. Dawn was considering keeping Odin on hand a bit more often because of this.

Dawn then read a passage concerning Sabrina trying to learn the identity of Team Scorn's true overall leader. However, all that Dawn saw was that Sabrina said her vision was blocked by a powerful dragon she had described as terrifying. "...Sabrina likewise wasn't able to foresee anything about me or Kenny when we came to her to challenge her gym," Dawn said, "Because Tsukune and Black were blocking her psychic powers with their divine dragon powers."

Mina gave a bemused hmph sound as she folded her arms over her chest. "Methinks that Ayane's Eternatus is working to help protect Team Scorn secrets with its legendary dragon swagger."

Dawn nodded once in the affirmative before she went back to the journal Sabrina had filled out. "...True, Sabrina wasn't able to figure out anything about the true identity of Team Scorn's overall boss, no doubt Eternatus is behind that at Ayane's prompting." Pointing to the journal, Dawn went on, "However, Sabrina WAS able to get the rest of the names of the command structures for the Pocketwatch Sector that's based here in Kanto." A grim look crossed Dawn face as she continued, "Likewise, Sabrina was able to get the names of the rest of the command structure for the Team Scorn sector based in Sinnoh, as well as what it's called."

"Oh yeah, those Team Scorn guys who worked to try to keep us from capturing all of Sinnoh's lore Pokémon," Trip said.

Dawn nodded once in the affirmative. "Apparently, according to what Sabrina had been able to foresee, the sector of Team Scorn based in Sinnoh is called the Straw-hat Sector."

Kenny instantly perked up at the mention of the name of Sinnoh's native sector of Team Scorn. "...Straw-hat?"

Dawn nodded once in confirmation. Going back to the journal, Dawn said, "According to what Sabrina had foreseen, the Straw-hat Sector has Captain Hirata, his Captain's Assistant Yuriko and her young son Tony, Captain Houki, and his Captain's Assistant Akemi. We've met all of them before. However, there is also a Captain Hayami and her Captain's Assistant Kappei, and a Captain Kazuki and his Captain's Assistant Cho. As for the leader of the Straw-hat Sector, it's one Admin Pirate and his Admin's Assistant Kazuya."

Trip's eyes narrowed out of suspicion. "Sounds to me like the Straw-hat Sector is due for an ass-whoopin'."

Looking to Dawn, Mina asked, "Anything on Kanto's native sector of Team Scorn?"

Dawn nodded once in the affirmative. "Yes. In addition to Captain Kuma, his Captain's Assistant Ai, Captain Meyer, and his Captain's Assistant Inaho, all of whom we've met before, there's going to be a Captain Mika and her Captain's Assistant Hikage, a Captain Tomatsu and his Captain's Assistant Endo, and lastly the Pocketwatch Sector's leader is one Admin Kyubi and his Admin's Assistant Kira." Dawn's eyes widened a bit in surprise. "...Sabrina says here in the journal that she was fated to have an encounter with Admin Kyubi, and she isn't able to foresee any specific events past that encounter."

"You think that means Admin Kyubi is the person who murdered Sabrina?" Kenny asked.

Folding his arms over his chest, Trip said, "Well we did get it that the Pocketwatch Sector's leader has a Thievul. Maybe a dark type Pokémon like that made fighting Sabrina easier for Admin Kyubi."

Pounding a fist into his hand, Kenny said, "Admin Kyubi also apparently has a Delphox who by the way is TOTALLY gonna have its ass kicked by Godzilla!"

Snickering in amusement, Trip said, "Kenny, I'm figuring that there is a ninety-one point six percent chance that Godzilla will get its ass kicked by Admin Kyubi's Delphox, not the other way around."

"I will malice you with a shoehorn, Trip!" Kenny exclaimed.

"Children please, settle down," Dawn said. Closing the journal, Dawn gave it a light pat with the back of her right hand (she held the journal with her left hand) as she said, "Sabrina had the foresight to leave us this intel so we could have some advance knowledge on what to expect from the native Team Scorn sectors of Kanto as well as Sinnoh. We ought to use this to do as much as we can to stop Team Scorn."

"Wait, did Sabrina say anything about a Team Scorn sector native to Paldea?" Mina asked.

Dawn cracked the journal back open and looked through the pages. "...No, she didn't even mention Paldea by name even once in this journal. My guess is that Sabrina simply had no idea of Paldea, thus she didn't bother trying to foresee anything about it."

"I have an idea on how to get some info on Paldea that may help with dealing with whatever Team Scorn members are there," Kenny said, "We hit up my Paldean rival Rimu and his girlfriend Penny."

"What makes you think Rimu and Penny would know anything about possible Team Scorn activity in Paldea?" Mina asked.

"They're Paldean natives," Kenny said, "Not to mention how Rimu is a Paldean Champion. No doubt Rimu at least has fought off local troubles in Paldea, he may be of use in helping us deal with whatever Team Scorn troubles are occurring over on his home turf."

Gesturing to Kenny, Trip said, "Rimu as well as Penny were both absent from helping to fight off the Team Scorn attack in Wyndon where Brandon was killed in a bid by Team Scorn to get Regigigas."

"They stayed up late binging anime and having a party," Kenny pointed out, "A reason I understand and respect. Also keep in mind how that Nina girl was also absent, despite also being in the Masters Eight."

"She was scared out of her wits," Trip pointed out, "Not to mention the level of noise probably distressed her. She's autistic and hypersensitive to sound, remember?"

Getting everyone else to settle down, Dawn said, "Look, we'll ask Rimu about any troubles he's aware of in his home region the next time we see him. Given he and I are both in the Masters Eight right now, it shouldn't be too difficult to get a hold of him." Holding up the journal, Dawn said, "In the meanwhile, we need to make the most of what intel Sabrina was able to foresee and leave behind for us. We're going to be having a chat with the Pocketwatch and Straw-hat Sectors." The rest of the reborn trainers all gave excited cheers, showing that they were on board with bringing the fight to Team Scorn.

A few days later, Kenny had his Ultra Class battle in the World Coronation Series against Indigo League Elite Four Bruno. Kenny won rather handily, as his named Necrozma Zamasu swept all three of Bruno's fighting type Pokémon. Kenny normally wouldn't have blitzed an opponent like that by using one of his legendary Pokémon, but there was still the issue of the Pocketwatch Sector to deal with, and Kenny wanted to be free for that as soon as possible. With Kenny's obligation settled, the reborn trainers were able to get cracking on dealing with the Pocketwatch Sector.

As such, the reborn trainers went back to Saffron City, but went to the Silph Co. building. In the Kanto games in the previous lives of the reborn trainers, the Silph Co. building is the sight of a major siege by Team Rocket during the main story. Dawn remembered one time while playing through Fire Red or Leaf Green (she can't recall which one it was at the moment) that she was able to catch Zapdos and Articuno BEFORE storming Silph Co. to banish the Team Rocket siege. Having legendaries with an over ten level advantage made besting Team Rocket a snap.

A bit overpowering Dawn will admit, but she was doing that play-through in order to get Entei to transfer over to Pearl Version (this was before HeartGold and SoulSilver came out). Out of the three legendary beasts, Dawn liked Entei the best; as such, she was happy she got to catch Bonfire, her named Entei, here in her new life. But this is getting off subject. As the reborn trainers made their way to the Silph Co. building, Mina asked, "So why are we heading to Silph Co. again? Did Sabrina write down something in the journal about Team Scorn paying Silph Co. a visit?"

Nodding once in the affirmative, Dawn said, "Actually, yeah she did. Sabrina said in the journal that there is going to be a Team Scorn mission led by Captain Mika and her Captain's Assistant Hikage sometime shortly after Sabrina foresaw the point she'd no longer be around for. There's been no report of Team Scorn activity here at the building yet, so hopefully we can catch Mika in the act."

Kenny pounded a fist into his hand. "I am ready to bring a world of cringe and moxie down upon the Pocketwatch Sector. They will not be able to resist my power!"

Trip gave Kenny a wry look. "The Pocketwatch Sector has you really fired up, huh?" Smirking in amusement, Trip added, "You just wanna get your Tyranitar getting owned by the Admin's fully evolved starter over with, don't you?"

"Godzilla will break the curse one day!" Kenny declared loudly, enough so that it got the attention of some of the workers on the ground floor.

A young woman secretary who looked pretty enough came walking over. "Is there something that you children need help with?"

Turning to properly face the secretary, Dawn said, "Yes, my group and I-"

"Wait a minute!" the secretary said in shocked surprise as she regarded Dawn, "You're Dawn Berlitz! You're not only the Champion of Sinnoh but also the current Monarch of the World Coronation Series!" Gesturing to Dawn, the secretary said, "Follow me, I'm certain the President will be more than happy to receive you." It was to the luck of the reborn trainers that Dawn had a reputation that proceeded her, as it often helped made the diplomatic approach much smoother. As such, Dawn and the rest of the reborn trainers proceeded to follow the secretary up to see the Silph Co. President.

...

The Silph Co. President looked like a real life version of the Gentleman trainer class from the gen three games. He exuded warm, friendly, welcoming vibes that made him seem like a kindly and fun grandpa. He was also, true to the secretary's word, more than happy to entertain visiting guests as famous as Dawn and her companions. "Is there anything I can do for you, Dawn?" asked the President.

Nodding once, Dawn said, "Did you hear what happened recently with Sabrina, the leader of the Saffron City gym?"

The President's expression faltered a bit. "Ah yes, truly terrible. I got it that Team Scorn is behind the deed."

"Yes, we have confirmed that Team Scorn efforts are behind the death of Sabrina, and a number of other persons with powers similar to what Sabrina has," Trip said, "But Sabrina had the foresight to use her powers to divine as much intel on Team Scorn as possible, write all of it down, and hide it away for my group here and I. That brings us to our trip to Silph Co. today."

The President's expression went from somber and resigned to alert and grim. "...Sabrina had foreseen that Team Scorn may attempt something at Silph Co."

Dawn gave a single affirmative nod. "According to what I read in the journal that Sabrina left behind, I'm figuring that Team Scorn may come here in a bid to collect at least one spare Master Ball, given that her journal entry that mentioned Team Scorn making an attempt on Silph Co. involving a scheme to get a Master Ball."

"...Yes, we do make Master Balls," the President said, "But we make them in extremely limited numbers to as to keep the market from getting flooded. They're more or less handed out rarely to individuals as rewards rather than being a commercial product that's sold." Dawn could see the logic behind that; if Master Balls were produced enough to be sold regularly at stores, then sales on other models of Pokéballs would grind to a halt. Why would someone wanna buy another different model if they also had the option to buy a model guaranteed to catch whatever wild Pokémon it's thrown at?

To the reborn trainers, the President asked, "What do you think Team Scorn may do with a Master Ball, assuming that it is what they're aiming for?"

"Catch another legendary Pokémon of note," Dawn said, "I mean, the second in command of Team Scorn as a whole caught a legendary Pokémon called Eternatus over in the Galar region. Obviously it'd be a bid to keep up with me, Kenny, and Trip given what we're packing."

The President nodded in agreement, able to see where Dawn was coming from. "Yes, well I-"

"Mr. President!"

The President was cut off when the same secretary from before came storming into the office, clearly in a panic. "Two separate groups came barreling into Silph Co. just now and they're fighting one another on the ground floor!" the secretary exclaimed, instantly catching the attention of the reborn trainers and the President, "One of the groups is Team Scorn!"

"Team Scorn invaded Silph Co. with another group?!" the President exclaimed.

"Wait, you said that Team Scorn and the other group are fighting one another," Dawn began, "Who's the other group?"

"Members of a group called Project Mew," the secretary explained, further piquing the interest of the reborn trainers, "But the Project Mew members are outnumbered a fair bit. I'd say four to one in favor of Team Scorn."

Hearing the name Project Mew reminded Dawn that she wanted to check up on how Professor Oak is doing with Froot Loop, Dawn's named Mew. Dawn also remembered that Team Scorn in the Kanto region has a beef with Project Mew for one reason or another, so this fight would be Team Scorn's golden opportunity to stick it to Project Mew. As much as she still didn't entirely trust Project Mew, Dawn realized that she and the others had to go down and help the Project Mew members fend off the thugs from Team Scorn, no matter what.

"Guys, we're going down to fight Team Scorn," Dawn said.

...

Down on the ground floor of Silph Co., members of Project Mew were fending off the members of Team Scorn, but due to the numbers disadvantage, the members of Project Mew were having a not too hot time. Even Quillon was there, and despite how he was undeniably tough, even he wouldn't be able to fend off the members of Team Scorn, at least with just his Weavile. As Quillon defeated another Team Scorn grunt, he stopped short when he heard a female voice call out, "Oi, tall brooding and full of himself! Although the Admin does wanna have a word with you Project Mew jokers, could it wait until AFTER I had made my displeasure with things here known to the jerks running Silph Co.?"

Quillon and his Weavile turned to see a uniquely dressed female member of Team Scorn, accompanied by a male Team Scorn grunt who was dressed in the standard uniform for grunts. The uniquely dressed female member was a lightly tanned skinned girl with a brown bob-cut, over which she wore a baseball cap. The cap was dark blue on the sides and edge of the bill, but the front of the cap and inner part of the bill were yellow. In the center of the front of the cap was a dark blue heater shield with a yellow Team Scorn 'S' in the middle.

The girl also wore a yellow casual dress short-sleeved shirt with dark blue trim on the ends of the sleeves, a yellow shirt with a dark blue silhouette in the center, yellow baggy cargo shorts (with dark blue trim) held up with a belt, yellow socks, and dark blue shoes with yellow laces and ends. The uniquely dressed member of Team Scorn pointed dramatically at Quillon. "You and your bum buddies from Project Mew here oughta sit tight and behave yourselves. Once the men and I are through here, we're going to be bringing-"

"-A rain of cringe and moxie down on you Team Scorn losers!"

The uniquely dressed Team Scorn member, the grunt with her, and Quillon all turned to look as Dawn, Kenny, Trip, and Mina came rushing in to fight Team Scorn. Kenny skidded right on up to where Quillon was being confronted by Team Scorn's uniquely dressed member who was at Silph Co. Pointing dramatically at the girl, Kenny said, "As you got on a custom uniform, you must be the one leading Team Scorn's discount dastardly deed-doing here!"

"The name's Mika," replied the uniquely dressed Team Scorn member, now identified as Mika, "I'm the Second Captain of Team Scorn's Pocketwatch Sector. The quiet guy with me is my Captain's Assistant Hikage. The lads here and I came by because I wanted to find the manager of one of the departments here at Silph Co. because I have a few grievances I wanted to air to him, mainly how he got my beloved auntie who used to work here fired in order to cover up a mistake of the managers's own doing! But then these Project Mew jokers confronted us when they came in at the same time we did!"

Kenny looked confused. "You guys... aren't here for a Master Ball?"

Mika, with a confused look on her face, said, "The hell is a Master Ball?" Briskly shaking her head, Mika said, "You know what, forget it, we'll just beat you and then get answers out of you by force, and THEN I'll find that slimy manager turd who got my auntie fired and make him take a swan dive off the top of the Silph. Co building!" Tossing up a Pokéball, Mika said, "Go, Houndoom!"

"Go, Raticate!" Hikage said as he sent in a Kantonian Raticate.

"Okay, Venoct!" Kenny said as he sent in his named Suicune, "Let's make it cringe!"

Quillon, upon seeing Kenny's Suicune, remarked, "So that new kid Goh wasn't lying." Focusing on the battle at hand, Quillon said, "Weavile, we're gonna help this one here fend off Team Scorn." Pointing ahead, Quillon said, "Use Brick Break on Houndoom!"

"Venoct, use Water Pulse on Houndoom!" Kenny called out.

Scoffing bitterly, Mika said, "Oh, ganging up on me, ehh? Well two can play at that game! Houndoom, use Dark Pulse on Suicune!"

"Raticate, use Bite on Suicune!" Hikage called out.

Venoct was the first to attack, and the named Suicune's Water Pulse blasted into Houndoom and knocked it out before it was able to attack. Quillon's Weavile struck Raticate with Brick Break and pushed it basck, keeping it from using Bite on Venoct. After recalling her fainted Houndoom, Mika sent out her next Pokémon as she called out, "Go, Perrserker!"

Upon hearing what Mika's next Pokémon was, Kenny with a look of realized instinct said, "I know what I must do." Swapping his Pokémon around, Kenny said, "Venoct, come back! Okay, Master Nyada! Let's make it cringe!" To Quillon's surprise, Kenny swapped his Suicune out to send in a Galarian Meowth that was wearing a dark green robe with a hood (the outfit was sized to fit the Galarian Meowth), there was an Everstone brooch affixed to the collar of the hood's neckhole, and the Galarian Meowth also carried a cane.

Pointing forward dramatically after Mika's Perrserker came out, Kenny declared, "Master Nyada! Use The Hose on Perrserker!"

"The Hose?" Quillon said skeptically, "What are you-"

"Meowth Me-Meowth!"

Quillon was cut off when Kenny's named Galarian Meowth cast a Thunderbolt attack by aiming its left front paw like a wizard aiming his hand to cast a spell. The Thunderbolt flew forward towards Mika's Perrserker and struck it. ...Right in the holy land. Mika's Perrserker went bug-eyed with male pain as it covered its hidden treasure with its paws and fell to its knees before falling over onto the tile floor of the Silph Co. lobby. "Umm... I... didn't mean for you to use The Hose on Perrserker's shmeat, Master Nyada," Kenny said, "But, umm... that's one way to score a critical hit, I suppose."

"Oi! Your Mewoth zapped my Perrserker's wing-dang-doodle with Thunderbolt!" Mika snapped, "The hell's wrong with you?!"

"Hey, I never told him to go for the shmeat," Kenny said, "Given how often my Scizor gets struck in the shmeat by attacks while battling, it's not a tactic I'm at all comfortable using." The rest of that battle was seeing Master Nyada finish off Perrserker with Thunderbolt (Kenny specifically told the named Galarian Meowth to NOT aim for the shmeat), and Quillon's Weavile finishing off the Raticate with another Brick Break.

Mika and Hikage recalled their Pokémon and sent out two more each; Mika a Muk, and Hikage an Alolan Raticate. "Master Nyada, Use The Hose on Muk!" Kenny declared.

"Weavile, use Brick Break on Raticate!" Quillon ordered.

"Muk, use Poison Jab on Weavile!" Mika commanded.

"Raticate, use Bite on Meowth!" Hikage ordered.

Weavile was fastest, and its Brick Break knocked the Alolan Raticate out in one hit; a fighting attack hitting a dual normal dark type will hurt a lot. As for Master Nyada, its Thunderbolt (aka The Hose) struck Muk and paralyzed it, and paralysis kept it from hitting Weavile. Another Thunderbolt from Master Nyada and an Ice Punch from Weavile finished off Muk, and that spelled defeat for Mika and Hikage.

As Mika recalled her Muk, one of the female grunts called out, "Captain Mika! We're close to being wiped here!"

Scowling, Mika snarled, "Screw it, we're bailing!" Mika then called for Team Scorn at Silph Co. to fall back, using smoke grenades to cover their escape. When the smoke settled, everyone saw that Team Scorn had fled. Kenny, as he recalled Master Nyada, had a look of suspicion on his face.

Things weren't over yet with the Pocketwatch Sector. Not by a long shot.

With the chaos settled, a quick headcount was done; no-one was missing, and the members of Project Mew, aside from some of the lower ranked members being a bit on the shaken side and some of their Pokémon being worn out, were alright. As for Quillon, he was met up by the rest of the reborn trainers when they came over to get Kenny. "This one here seems to be an elite in Project Mew," Kenny said to Dawn, Trip, and Mina.

Turning to look at Quillon, Dawn said, "Care to explain why you and some of your fellows from Project Mew are here at Silph Co.?"

"Orders from Professor Amaranth," Quillon said, "He wants us to bargain with the President of Silph Co. in order to collect a Master Ball from him. He knows Silph Co. can produce Master Balls, and he needs one for his research in Project Mew."

That surprised the rest of the reborn trainers. "So it's you guys from Project Mew who wants to get a Master Ball from Silph Co.?" Dawn asked, "Well what about Team Scorn? What were they here for?"

"That Mika girl said she had beef with the manager of one of the departments here because he screwed her auntie over out of her job," Kenny said, "Hell, Mika didn't even know what a Master Ball was when I brought it up."

Turning to look at Quillon, Dawn asked, "...Did that Professor Amaranth fellow give any details as to why he needs a Master Ball for his research?"

"That is no business of yours," Quillon said sharply, his firm gave brokering no quarter.

As Quillon had a stare-off with the reborn trainers, the President came over to the heroes. "Thank you all for helping to fend off Team Scorn," the President said, "And as a way to say thanks, I got a little something prepared for each of you." Taking out a small drawstring pouch, the President handed it over to Quillon while saying, "This here is a pouch containing a dozen Luxury Balls. Use them wisely, alright?"

Looking curious at the gift, Quillon said, "Thank you, but I do need to speak with you on a matter that Prof-"

"And as for you four," the President said to the reborn trainers, cutting Quillon off without realizing it, "I got it from the Kalos Pokéball Factory that you're taking the fight directly to Team Scorn, you're the only ones able to stand up to Team Scorn's strongest members. The Kalos Pokéball Factory told me about the gift they gave you, so in a similar vein I'm planning to restock your stores, as it were." Dawn, Kenny, and Trip then were given enough various Pokéballs to refill what all they initially got at the Kalos Pokéball Factory; this included seeing them have a count of twelve Master Balls each again. Mina was given a similar allotment of the various kinds of Pokéballs.

Quillon tried to speak with the President, but the President took off before he could even make his request. This however resulted in Quillon turning to look at the reborn trainers. "I'm going to need one of you to give me one of your spare Master Balls," Quillon said flatly.

The reborn trainers looked at Quillon with curious looks. "What for?" Dawn asked.

"Because Professor Amaranth needs one," Quillon replied.

"You guys ought to focus more on prepping for dealing with Team Scorn," Kenny replied, "As you guys obviously plan to stick around here in Kanto and not leave despite how Kanto's native sector of Team Scorn is gunning for you Project Mew fellows."

"We can handle ourselves," Quillon said, "Now I won't ask again." Quillon held a hand out as if he expected something to be handed over to him. "Master Ball. Now."

"No," Dawn said flatly. "To the other reborn trainers, Dawn said, "Come on guys, let's get out of here. The guys from Project Mew can't legally keep us from leaving." The reborn trainers proceeded to leave, and Quillon had to let them go because Dawn made a point on how he and his fellows couldn't keep Dawn and her group from going on their merry way, not without giving Dawn and her group just cause to sic the local authorities on them. Although Dawn couldn't see it as her back was to Quillon, she could tell full well he was scowling bitterly at her.

...It was just all the more reason for Dawn to not trust Project Mew.

END, CHAPTER TWO-HUNDRED AND SIXTY-NINE

Author's Notes;

This chapter kicks off with the reborn trainers getting a journal left behind by the now dead Sabrina; she had the foresight to use her powers to learn as much as she could about Team Scorn and write it down, with the journal being given to Dawn and the others. After Kenny takes care of a World Coronation Series obligation, the reborn trainers return to Saffron City because one of Sabrina's visions she wrote about foretold something about Silph Co. This leads the reborn trainers to suspect that Team Scorn is in the market for another Master Ball.

...However, it turns out that Team Scorn is NOT the party after a Master Ball; Team Scorn and a group of members from Project Mew, led by Quillon here, swarm into Silph Co. and fight one another. The heroes are able to fend off Team Scorn, with Kenny helping Quillon beat Captain Mika and her Captain's Assistant Hikage, forcing the bad guys to bail. However, Kenny learns that Team Scorn came to Silph co. because Mika had a personal beef with a department manager who screwed over her much beloved auntie who used to work at Silph Co.

It's actually Project Mew who came to Silph Co. for a Master Ball, and after things are settled and the reborn trainers are rewarded by the President with their stock they got from the Kalos Pokéball Factory being refilled, Quillon not-so-nicely asks them to give him one of their spare Master Balls, citing how Professor Amaranth needs one for his research in Project Mew. Dawn, who is still wary of Project Mew, denies Quillon his request, and makes it clear that he can't make them give up a Master Ball, nor can he keep them from leaving without raising a stink.

Things will continue into the next chapter, so until then take care. Also, I'd like to apologize for my lack of content coming out as of late; my stores of backlog have run out, I've hit a bit of a dry spell on how I wanna write out the rest of the stuff I wanna get out before tackling the Masters Eight tournament shenanigans, and work IRL has been something of a pain in the fanny for me. I am admittedly gonna be slowing down a bit, so please bear with me.
