I'm back!
No smut in this one.
Enjoy!

Layla pulled on a modest dress that stopped at her knees and sat close to her neck. The camera's were gone, she had volunteered to go with Light to take his exam for university. Meeting her brother outside she smiled as he reached her and they started walking. "You look presentable." He smiled at her as she giggled. "I probably should dress appropriately since I'm taking you to your exam." He smirked, his sister didn't have to go with him but she had been wanting to get out of the house for a few days.

As they reached the university Light went into the building for the exam as Layla walked around admiring the university until she spotted someone familiar. "Ryuuga?" She questioned as she walked up causing the man to turn and smile down at her. "Layla, how are you?" He asked. "I'm good, are you here for the exam?" Just as she asked, a man in a suit walked over and explained that anyone taking the exam had three minutes left, with a smile she winked at him. "Good luck." He smiled as she walked off to wait on a bench. At the end of the exam she hopped up and quickly found Light amongst the prospective students. "How do you think you did?" She asked excitedly as he smiled at her. "I should get in just fine." She nodded and the pair went home.

A few days later Layla was keeping a close eye on the time as she modeled for a magazine. She had promised to meet Light after his ceremony since he was starting college that day. "Sweetie, lean back more." She nodded and followed the direction of the photographer and forced herself to lean her shoulders back and pout at the camera in her bikini as the lights flashed and the camera clicked. After being spotted on stage she had been approached to be a model for a magazine and had happily agreed. Finally the shoot was done and she quickly changed into a sundress before rushing off to meet Light.

"Light!" She grinned happily as she spotted her brother amongst the students, standing out in the suit she helped him pick out. Walking up she heard Ryuk mention that the ceremony was interesting. "What was so interesting?" She asked looking between them for a moment, until she heard a voice to her left. "Light." The siblings looked over and Layla was shocked to see Ryuuga looking at them. "Thanks for today." Light offered a smile. "No, thank you." L turned to Layla and offered her a smile. "Nice to see you again Layla." She smiled back. "You as well." He nodded once before looking at Light. "Well, I'll see you around on campus." He said before stepping into a black car and being driven away. "How do you know him?" Layla jumped at Lights accusing tone as they started walking towards the train station. "I ran into him a few times? Why?" She flinched at the glare Light had fixated on her. "Do you know who that is?" She shook her head, suddenly nervous around him. "That was L" He muttered and Layla sighed. "Light. Surely you don't think I knew that. I met him on a whim when I went to a shoot." She gulped, fear hitting her core as she worried what Light might do to her in his rage. After a silent train ride they reached their home where Sayu welcomed them, Light ignored her and went to his room while Layla chose to sit with her sister and watch TV. "What's wrong with Light?" She asked as Layla shrugged. "Must have a lot on his mind, he was quiet with me too." She reassured her.

Layla was walking to the train station when her phone started ringing. "Hello?" She answered happily. "Hey, can you meet me at that cafe you like?" She heard Light ask as she sighed and turned around. "Sure. I'll be there soon." Walking a few blocks she entered the little cafe and ordered a drink before finding Light sitting across from Ryuuga. With a swing to her hips she slid into the seat next to Light. "Didn't expect to see you two together." She giggled as Light sighed and Ryuuga looked surprised she was there. "We were discussing the Kira case." Light explained while she looked over at him in shock. "That's interesting. You're working with our father, right Ryuuga?" She looked at him with an easy smile as he offered her one in return. "Indeed I am." There was a light silence before all three of their phones started ringing at once. Shrugging, Layla answered her phone as Sayu's frantic voice reached her ears before she gasped and immediately stood up and looked at Light who was also on the phone. "Dad's had a heart attack. Let's go." She grabbed his hand and started running out the door as L directed them into his private car that sped them off the hospital.

Layla sat between L and Light looking at her father anxiously as the doctor explained that it was a heart attack due to stress and fatigue and that their father would be alright. Light decided to break the silence. "Is this really just from fatigue?" Their mother quickly rounded on him while Layla nodded in agreement. "What do you mean, Light?!" Layla sighed and easily answered for her brother. "Whenever there is a heart attack, the first thing that comes to everyone's mind is Kira." Light nodded while their father regarded the pair with a level look. "Before I lost consciousness I was asking myself, "is it Kira?" I don't deny that." Their mother looked anxious as L spoke. "You are the head investigator of the case. An attempt to assassinate you is more than justified. And the chance of Kira failing to kill his target may not necessarily be 0%." At their mothers frightened look their father sighed and looked at her. "Sachiko, Light and Layla are here now. You should go home and get some rest." She nodded and stood up. "Okay. I'll bring some things for you tomorrow, I'll leave the rest to you, Light." Layla hid her eye roll as her mother looked over her as she left. Once the door was closed their father spoke again. "I think any suspicion of me being Kira should be cleared now. Now that I think of it, I argue with my superior, live in fear of being killed by Kira, and don't sleep much. I really am overwhelmed, aren't I?" Layla sighed. "Not to mention your son is being suspected. You were under tremendous stress." Light looked at him. "You told him about that?" L simply responded. "Yes. I told him everything. Including the fact that I am L." The siblings looked at their father for confirmation. "It's true. He is L. To prevent others from finding out. We all call him "Ryuuzaki" But he really is L." Layla glanced at L while wondering what his real name was. "Ryuuzaki, have you cleared all your suspicions after talking with my son?" The siblings looked at L. "No. He said many great things regarding the Kira case which deepened my suspicions. That is the truth." Layla sighed and excused herself to step out of the room and get some air. Walking outside she sighed and ran a hand through her hair as a few tears leaked out. She truly thought she was going to lose her father tonight. Watching traffic go by she glanced when she heard the door open and Light and L appeared, it was obvious to her something had been said as she could cut the tension with a knife. "How is he?" She asked, catching them both off guard. L turned to her as Light watched the pair. "He's asleep now." She nodded as L climbed into the car waiting on him before wishing them both a goodnight and the car driving off. "He still thinks you're Kira." Layla stated simply before turning so they could walk to the train station, she could hear Ryuk chuckling as he floated behind them. "Light." Her brother looked down at her as she pulled her cardigan closer around her. "You wouldn't. Kill dad. Right?" She asked with hesitation. "Of course not Layla." He reassured as she looked unimpressed.

I know this one was jumping around and I apologize for that.
Let me know what you think and I'll get chapter 6 finished!
