Alanis McCarty was born in Gatlinburg, a beautiful, resort-style community set in the East Tennessee mountains. As a child, she adored hearing stories from the past. One of those stories was about her great-grandfather, a wild and energetic hunter who went missing in the mountains one day in the mid-thirties while hunting for deer.
Alanis and her cousin, Isabella Swan, were close as children, almost like sisters.
Alanis always liked Forks despite her mother and cousin's dislikes since it reminded her of Gatlinburg, except for the proximity to the water and beach. Summer visits to see her uncle and cousin were something the McCarty girl looked forward to.
Bella was never shy about expressing her disdain for her birth home, and when she was thirteen, she decided that her summer vacations were to be spent with her father and cousin in nearby California instead. For Alanis, California was the definition of hellโtoo hot, too humid, and nothing like Gatlinburg or Forks.
It wouldn't be too long before she quit visiting.
More than three years later, after an incident with her boyfriend, Alanis is sent back to Forks, Washington, to finish her last years of high school. Her return to Forks coincides with Bella's, as the Swan girl decides to return to give her mother some quality time with her new husband.
Once settled in Forks, Bella starts getting closer to Edward Cullen, a mysterious boy that goes to their school. At the same time, Alanis meets someone who resembles her great-grandfather and shares his name. What exactly is the problem? Her great-grandfather has been missing for several years.
Stephanie Meyer and Summit Entertainment own the Twilight Saga, its characters, and plotlines. I only own Alanis and everything else that isn't in the movies or books.
๐ ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐๐ซ will be a mash-up of the movies, my own thoughts, and the novels. Some elements in the timeline will have to be adjusted for the sake of continuity and consistency, but this is a fanfiction. Changes and deviations are to be expected, and they can and will occur.
