"It's going to be OK, Harry. We'll be fine," Ginny spoke softly. Harry furiously wiped his weeping eyes. "Sirius, he was so heartbroken a-and I've never seen him like that, even after dealing Azkaban...he looked so tired a-and-" Hermione knew where this was going, Harry was blaming himself so before he could finish his sentence, she spoke up, "We all are Harry. She was so young and innocent. I know you feel this is your fault but it really isn't. You too are in shock and hurting Harry! You shouldn't Blane yourself!" Harry was still not convinced but he just nodded.
Next day, everyone found themselves at Godric's Hollow for the funeral service of a six year old girl.
Harry was neatly dressed in a jet black shirt and black sweats, sitting in his wheelchair at the side. Despite winter's cold temperature, Harry wore no other cardigan. Uncontrollable tears slowly ran down his cheeks but he made no effort to dry them. Ginny was right beside him, with her hand on his shoulder.
Molly was sobbing in Arthur's chest. He muttered comforting words to her.
Remus held Sirius's while he leaned on his (Remus's) shoulder. Sirius was wearing dress robes, his hair tied in a small, low bun. They were the closest to the coffin/casket.
Ron and Hermione, Fred and George comforted each other. Fred and George had stopped crying but they were in a somber mood.
A few other Order members were there too like Tonks, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Mad-Eye and a few that Harry did not recognize.
Dumbeldore was the funeral celebrant. "Today, we all gather here to celebrate the life of Liana Black who sacrificed her life for a great cause on the twenty fifth of December, 1995."
Liana's small coffin/casket was made out of the finest rosewood. Her hand neatly folded on her abdomen, her eyes closed into a slumber forever.
"Remus Lupin, Liana's godfather, will now share with us, Liana's life sketch," Dumbeldore said as he stepped down from the podium.
Sirius was reluctant to let Remus go. "Love, please...I have to do this," Remus's voice cracked. Sirius finally let Remus go. He kissed Sirius's forehead and rubbed his back. He walked to the podium and started speaking.
"Sirius and I did not know Liana from the start because of the given circumstances. We met her first when she was three. A kind, bubbly little girl she was. Liana was really close to Harry since the time they first met. Harry was her...protective big brother. She was the light in our dark times," Remus paused, his voice cracking. Taking a deep breath, fighting back the tears, he said, "I cannot express anymore in words how much she means to us. She will live on in our hearts. Always." Remus stepped behind, slowly walking back to Sirius.
Harry couldn't take this anymore. He started wheeling away as fast as he could. He passed the grave of someone with the last name 'Peverell'. Ginny ran behind him calling out to him. "Harry, Harry! Stop!"
Suddenly Harry stopped and wheeled backwards a little. He saw something he never thought he would.
Ginny was glad Harry stopped but when she reached there, she found why Harry stopped.
"Mum? Dad?" Harry whispered. He reached forward and brushed some of the snow off the gravestone. Tears once again sprang to Harry's eyes but he did not let them escape; he was done with crying!
Ginny took one of Harry's hands rubbing it warm with both of her own. "I'm so sorry, Harry. I can't even imagine losing one parent."
"You shouldn't have to..." Harry trailed off.
The next moment, Ginny found herself hugging Harry. "Thanks, I needed that," Harry admitted, bravely. "Can we get out of here?" He asked earnestly. "Of course," Ginny said as she took control of Harry's wheelchair."Thanks, really. I appreciate it," Harry said. "Harry, it's okay; there is a lot that's going on. We all have been going through a hard time."
Harry asked Ginny to station his wheelchair right beside the kissing gate of the cemetery.
Harry looked down, his lap suddenly very intriguing to him. He was slipping into a depression.
Ginny knelt down so that she was at Harry's level. She took his hands into her own, rubbing them warm.
Harry could smell the strong flowery scent in her Weasley jumper. It was very enticing. He realized that Ginny was the only person who didn't say 'I understand' without understanding. She had just been there for him, not giving him any suggestions or advice. Harry found out that he liked Ginny's presence. She was just there to listen and comfort him and Harry liked that.
"It's just so hard. I miss her," Harry's voice was hushed. "I know, Harry. I will never understand and to be truthful I don't want to... I don't want to experience the death of any of my brother," Ginny said hugging him again.
"It's okay," Harry said.
"Okay?" Ginny responded quietly.
"Okay."
"Okay." Ginny said finally before a little smile littered her face.
"Harry, d'you wish to... go back inside?" Harry shook his head, it was quite a lot. "I'll wait here with you?" Ginny half declared, half questioned softly. "Please," Harry said.
After a few moments of silence, Harry took Ginny's hand in his own, "Thank you," he whispered, expressing his gratitude. A few freezing breaths left his mouth.
"Of course, Harry. Anytime."
Voila! Hope you liked it! It was short but it was so heart- wrenching I couldn't write/type anymore.
the 'Okay' scene was taken from the novel The Fault In Our Stars, so the rights go to John Green
