A/N: So I wanted to skip the whole selection process for the tournament. I'm did a quick bit of research to figure out which two fighters should bumped out of the tournament to make room for Trunks and Goten. The obvious answer is Mighty Mask, who gets knocked out by the two boys so they could impersonate him, and Killa, who loses to the boys while they are impersonating Mighty Mask. So the bracket is as follows.

Fight 1: Krillin Vs. Pintar.

Fight 2: Piccolo Vs. Shin(Supreme Kai)

Fight 3: Spopovich Vs. Videl

Fight 4: Gohan Vs. Kibito

(The first 4 will proceed as normal, with slight deviations, and at least one major deviation.)

Fight 5: 18 Vs. Jewel

Fight 6: Trunks Vs. Goten

Fight 7: Goku Vs. Vegeta

Fight 8: Mr. Satan Vs. Yamu

Chapter 5

Piccolo couldn't quite shake off the eerie feeling he got from Shin, the purple-skinned dwarf with a mohawk, and his tall companion, Kibito. The essence of Kami that dwelled within him warned Piccolo of these fighters, but he could not feel any energy really coming from them. It concerned him to say the least.

The Junior Division of the tournament went without a hitch. Some brat named Idasa won with hardly any competition. The press had a field day with Mr. Satan and the preteen boy having a friendly exhibition.

Videl scanned the competition that wasn't a part of Gohan's group. She thought it odd that Kibito and Shin didn't have any ki to sense, but they seemed friendly enough, if not a little creepy. Jewel, the runner up for the last tournament was in the running again this year, but with his energy level, he wouldn't stand a chance against any of the Z Fighters.

That just left Spopovich and Yamu, one of whom seemed to hold the most amazing grudge against her father, and was hellbent on taking it out on her. It was just luck on his part that they seemed to get matched up in the first round.

Videl watched as Pintar, a large indian man with a thick accent walk up to Krillin and complain about getting stuck with a "puny shrimp-man" as he put it. Krillin just waved the boulder-sized man off like he was no big deal. It'd be decided real soon who the better fighter was, and Videl already had an idea.

Goku, Piccolo, and Vegeta stood away from their friends, discussing Kibito and Shin. As well as the curious case that was Videl. She had a curious fire in her that was almost Saiyan-like.

"Is it possible Vegeta? Could there be another Saiyan on Earth that we never picked up on?" Goku asked as Vegeta shook his head confidently.

"It'd be impossible. Freeza called all the Saiyans back to Vegeta before he destroyed it. The only ones who remained off planet were Nappa, Raditz and myself, and obviously you Kakarot." Vegeta explained as he looked at the girl from the corner of his eye. "Besides, Saiyans have a naturally dark iris. The girl's eyes are a bright blue. The only other case where a Saiyan had that eye color is Trunks, and he's a halfling."

"So no other Saiyan could have possibly survived." Piccolo stated, almost like a question.

Vegeta grumbled for a moment. "Well there is at least one other Saiyan, if you can call him that." Vegeta said with a disgusted tone. "He was banished by my father for his disgustingly peaceful nature. However, I know what planet he was banished to, and it was not Earth." Vegeta explained as the Goku quirked an eyebrow.

Before any prodding could be made, Piccolo stepped forward, "How often were Saiyans exiled like that?" Piccolo asked curiously as Vegeta scoffed.

"Exceedingly rare. Tarble was the first in 50 years. The pacifists rarely got exiled, they were put to work in other areas. From what Raditz told me, Kakarot's mother was a meat butcher. They had to be special cases to actually be exiled." Vegeta stated as Goku interjected.

"So why was this Tarble guy exiled? What was his special case?" he asked innocently as Vegeta's nostrils flared.

"Because the brat was an embarassment to the Royal Blood. A Saiyan Prince who didn't want to fight? It makes the throne look weak!" Vegeta declared as Goku was taken aback before laughing.

"So that means your brother was exiled!?" Goku laughed out as tried to imagine a peaceful version of Vegeta.

"That doesn't exactly eliminate the possibility though. From what we've seen of you and Goku, there's no telling how long a Saiyan can actually live for." Piccolo pointed out through Goku's laughing as Vegeta brought a finger to his chin.

"Youre not wrong Namekian. Most Saiyans die in combat, but our physiology does allow us to maintain our prime for much longer than humans. Hypothetically, a female Saiyan's birthing age would last far longer than a human." The group came to a quiet as the tournament began. Krillin and Pintar walked to the ring among a thunderous sea of applause.

"There's no way to confirm her heritage now. Besides, human females have a pretty strong mean streak like Saiyans. We operate under the assumption that she is a full blooded human." Vegeta stated as he observed the girl who had ran over to the entrance to the ring to watch the fight.

Krillin sighed in annoyance, this bloated man was talking nonstop and had nothing better to do than make short jokes. He's glad he didn't wear his Gi for this fight. He brought it just in case, but he knew it was unlikely he'd break much of a sweat on this first fight. Not to mention, he wasn't exactly a student of Master Roshi anymore.

The announcer gave him a wink. The two weren't friends, but he was one of the few in the world that appreciated a true fight like he and Goku had back in the day. This was evidenced by the fact that he gave Krillin the best introductions he had in years.

Krillin finally admitted it to himself, he missed the air of excitement that came from these tournaments. He remembered wanting to win so badly back in the day, even dreamed of being a professional martial artist and having his own students when he was training under Roshi.

Even Roshi offered him to take the mantle of the Turtle School, but it was a lifetime ago now. He wanted a stable job to get his family off the island. The best he could do for money right now though, is entering the tournament and hoping he made it into the top five.

Krillin was so deep in thought, he hadn't heard the announce start the fight. Pintar rushed the shorter man and as Krillin let his instincts take over he dodged easily, disappearing out of sight. He reappeared behind Pintar, whose large body was still moving as he struggled to come to a full stop, and he gently nudged the big man out of the ring before landing on the ring himself.

"And just like that folks, in the blink of an eye, Krillin has knocked Pintar right out of the ring with little effort!" The announcer shouted into his microphone as Krillin nodded confidently before walking back to the waiting area.

Each of the Z Fighters, minus Vegeta and Piccolo, congratulated Krillin on his win as the short man walked by to be with his wife. He began to wonder if he should pursue that dream, and the only one he needed to talk to about it, was his wife.

Before long, the ring was ready for the 2nd fight between Piccolo and Shin. The short man unnerved Piccolo to no end. Despite his experience in battle, he had never been so worried over what should be a friendly fight like this.

As the two made their way to the ring together, Piccolo stared at the short man, every fiber of his being screaming at him, warning him against this fight.

The two took their positions across from each other as Piccolo stood resolute to try to give off an air of intimidation towards his mysterious opponent. But that was the other problem, Shin was unfazed. The roar of the crowd, the air of violence, even Piccolo's meanest look was doing nothing to change Shin's demeanor.

The announcer started the fight, and neither moved. Piccolo felt immobilized, 'What's going on with me, why can't I bring myself to attack him?' Piccolo thought as the man smiled.

'All will be made clear soon my friend. Until then, please, let's give these people a good show.' Shin's voice pierced Piccolo's mind as Piccolo gave a shocked look. For a moment, he felt Shin's energy, Shin's divine energy, before it was gone again.

Piccolo began walking back to the waiting room, declaring his forfeit from the tournament.

"So he's the former guardian of this planet. He may know more about me than I thought." Shin said quietly to himself as he was declared the winner. The announcer called the next fighters to the stage, slight disappointment at the lack of explosive battles he expected from Krillin and Piccolo.

As Piccolo arrived at the waiting room, he was met by Goku and Krillin, "Is he really that tough Piccolo? I can't feel a thing from him." Goku stated as Piccolo simply nodded.

"He's a far more dangerous opponent than we could anticipate." Piccolo stated as Krillin gulped nervously.

"You don't say, how sure are you of that, because I gotta fight him next." Krillin said nervously before being pushed out of the way by Spopovich, who began making his way to the ring.

The Z Fighters watched as Shin's demeanor changed drastically as he passed by Spopovich, who had a large grin on his face. "Do you know who he is Piccolo?" Goku asked as Piccolo shook his head.

"Kami has an idea, however I can't say with certainty." He responded as Shin passed by the group. Videl began her stride to the stage as Gohan wished her luck.

"Did you see the way that damned Kai looked at Spopovich!? He knows!" Babidi's voice rang through the ship as he threw random objects at the screen.

"True, but if he knows, why hasn't he done anything to stop Spopovich and Yamu? Surely he could hinder Buu's revival easily." Dabura speculated as Babidi thought about it and began laughing.

"That fool, he's going to let us get the energy we're searching for so he can find us. He doesn't know where our ship is located!" Babidi laughed maniacally as Spopovich and Videl took their stances on the ring.

Shin walked outside, away from the waiting room, knowing he could feel Piccolo's energy following him. "So, you are the former guardian of this planet. I'm curious to know how much you know about me." Shin inquired as he turned to face Piccolo.

"I have an idea, but I wanted to confirm it. I have to ask, are you the Grand Kai?" Sweat dripped from Piccolo's head as he asked his question.

Shin chuckled at the question, "I suppose that's as good of a guess as any really. No, he is busy with other matters. Alternatively, I am the Supreme Kai." Shin stated as Piccolo was taken aback.

"And if youre here, something bad is surely going to happen." Piccolo stated as Shin nodded seriously.

"I ask that you keep my identity a secret for now. My presence will only cause distress unnecessarily." Shin asked as Piccolo nodded in agreement.

"How bad is the situation? Is it just the Earth or all of existence?" Piccolo asked as Shin sighed.

"Do you really want to know?" Shin asked as Piccolo grit his teeth.

Videl and Spopovich took their stances at their respective ends. Videl got a good feel of Spopovich's ki, and already had a plan of attack. As soon as the announcer started the fight she began by rushing him, he cocked one fist back as he put his forearm up to cover his face from the small girl's attack.

As he felt her punch connect, he threw his fist to counter only to hit an afterimage, before he could react, he felt his legs being kicked out from beneath him.

Time passed seemingly slowly as he floated in the air for a second before being kicked upwards from below with surprising force. He grit his teeth and turned mid air only to see the girl speeding heavily into his stomach. Knocking the wind out of him she wove her fingers together and delivered a powerful hammerfist into his back, forcing him to the ground.

He slammed his stomach onto the hard concrete. Videl dusted off her hands as if she had already won. The announcer began a 10 count as Videl floated gently to the ground. The Z Fighters were in shock as they watched the brutal beating this young girl who had just learned about ki, had just delivered.

"Wow Gohan, she learned all that in a month with you?" Krillin asked, impressed at the speed of the girl.

Gohan, just as shocked as the rest of his friends shook his head, "No, she was only with me for 2 weeks. She spent the other 2 weeks on her own." He said with a mix of fear and pride.

Vegeta listened intently, shocked to hear she had improved so much in two weeks.

Videl stood as proudly as the announcer reached 8, when suddenly Spopovich's energy shot up. He leapt to his feet and delivered a hard kick straight to the side of Videl's head, sending her flying to the edge of the ring.

Videl reacted in time to catch herself, but she it wasn't even a second until the large man was pursuing. She was on the defensive now as the large man bombarded her with punches. She could almost feel her forearms breaking as he began wearing her defense down.

Spopovich cocked back for a heavy punch, but it gave Videl the opening she needed to dodge out of the way. She got away momentarily enough to land a spinkick to the side of Spopovich's head. Unfortunately for her, his guard was up enough that despite the heavy hit, he didn't move an inch.

He grabbed her by the leg and swung her around before slamming her down on the ground causing her to yell out in pain.

"What just happened, she dominated the fight at first, but now she's taking a major beating!" Krillin explained as Gohan shook with rage as he watched Videl losing.

"Gohan, you need to calm down." Goku said as he put his hands on Gohan's shoulders and tried to make eye contact. Electricity crackled at Goku's touch, causing Goku to recoil slightly.

Videl had escaped momentarily and took to the sky to try and recuperate. She gasped in shock as the large man took off in pursuit. She started blasting ki at her opponent, only for them to bounce off him like it was nothing.

She could feel her energy dropping while Spopovich's energy seemed to be endless. Just as the man was about to reach her, she did a flip to gain momentum and slammed her heel on the top of his head, sending him flying back to the ring.

Videl knew this was a chance to regain the upperhand as she gave chase and started a flurry of punches on the man's upper body while he was falling to the ground. Dust poofed up as the pair landed and she used the cover to her advantage as she began circling Spopovich using the afterimage to confuse him.

After picking up speed, she moved in and slammed a kick right into the side of his head, causing it to spin around on his neck. He fell to his knees and Videl yelped, shocked that she had such strength.

"It appears that Videl has kicked Spopovich so hard that she broke his neck! Unfortunately this does mean she has used lethal force and will be disqualified." The announcer stated as Videl dropped to her own knees. She didn't want to kill him.

Before she could start self-loathing, a voice pierced her ears, "He isn't done! He's playing you like he did before!" Gohan yelled as Videl looked towards him. When she looked back, Spopovich's body was gone before she felt his large foot on her back, slamming her into the ground. Some of her appendages that weren't prepared for the attack were bent the wrong direction, as a bone or two stuck out of her leg.

Gohan's teeth gritted as his body convulsed. His hair flashed golden as he watched Spopovich repeatedly step on her body.

"Why aren't the officials doing anything!?" Krillin asked in a shaky voice as Gohan's hair flashed into a solid gold.

"They had their chance to stop this!" He yelled as he took off towards the ring only for Spopovich to be booted off Videl from behind, shocking the crowd.

A man in a cloak from the audience stepped in, "She's done. I'll be your opponent now." the cloaked man stated with malice in his throat as he turned to Gohan, "Get her out of here now boy!" He ordered as he returned his sights on Spopovich.

The announcer stepped in the ring, "I'm sorry sir, but this is an official tournament, not some place to handle vendettas." he stated as the man gave a piercing scowl to the blond man.

The announcer cowered briefly before running to hop off the arena stage. The man removed his cloak to reveal himself fully. The man wore a similar model of Saiyan Armor as Vegeta's, although considerably older.

His scarred face contorted into a scowl as his tail convulsed in response to the rage he felt. Gohan picked Videl up off the stage, and turned towards the announcer, "I think it's safe to say she lost. But I doubt Spopovich will get a win from all this." Gohan stated as he turned towards the Saiyan, "And you, I don't know what your stake is in Videl's fight, but if youre a threat to this planet or its people, you'll answer to me." He declared as he rushed Videl to the infirmary. Celero smirked at the boy as he ran off.

Gohan stopped for a second by Vegeta and glared. Vegeta didn't even acknowledge the boy as he stared at the Saiyan that was determined to face off against Spopovich.

Celero scowled deeply at the large man who was chuckling at Gohan's retreating form. "Youre going to pay for each and every scratch on her." Celero declared as he exploded with power causing the ring to shake.

Spopovich smiled malevolently as he crouched into a stance. Celero finished powering up and looked straight at Spopovich before disappearing from view. Before anyone could react, Celero's foot was embedded in the large man's gut causing him to double over in pain, and receiving an elbow to the back of the head.

Spopovich turned to slam his fist right into Celero only for it to be caught at his wrist. Celero twisted the bald man's wrist and crushed the bone. Spopovich struggled to pull his arm away from Celero whose scowl deepened.

"I've already seen you recover from a broken neck. Let's see how much of a healing factor you have." Celero growled as he started to pull on Spopovich's wrist.

The large bald man screamed in pain as he felt tendons starting to tear as his skin peeled away from his arm. Finally in one quick tear, the man's hand was ripped off. Blood began splurting from Spopovich's arm as the crowd screamed and gagged at the sight of this mutilation.

Spopovich stood to his feet and gave the man an angry look as he took a ball of ki energy and cauterized his stump hand. "That hurt you bastard!" Spopovich stated with a venomous tone.

"We're just getting started." Celero stated, a slight insane smile gracing his face.

Goku turned to Vegeta, as Vegeta looked back at him, "You think you may know who he is, dont you?" Vegeta asked Goku's question for him.

"He seems like the kind of man who would have a reputation, even among the Saiyans." Goku pointed out as Vegeta nodded.

"There was one Saiyan, he was a great warrior, but he was also in Freeza's research division." Vegeta stated as Goku gave a confused look.

"Research Division? What kind of research?" Goku asked as Vegeta nodded towards the ring.

"Research didn't mean the same thing to Freeza as it does to Bulma. His Research division was a glorified torture chamber." Vegeta stated as Celero proceeded to grab Spopovich's foot as the large man sent a kick towards his head. "This particular Saiyan took an exceptionally cruel delight in his job. The other Saiyans gave him the title of Freeza's Butcher. Long before Freeza destroyed the planet, he disappeared. But he was never officially exiled." Vegeta stated as a blood-curdling scream came from the ring.

Celero was, for lack of better word, dissecting Spopovich's calf. "I have to admit, in my time here, I never truly inspected a human. It's marvelous how truly similar you are to Saiyans." Celero stated as Spopovich screamed in response. "Now now, don't be like that. After all, you brought this on yourself." Celero laughed maniacally as he finished dissecting Spopovich's leg and tore it clean off.

"BUTCHER!" Vegeta yelled as Celero's eyes widened. He looked down at his hands, covered in blood and clenched his fists. "BUTCHER! LOOK AT ME!" Vegeta demanded as Celero turned to look, "Put him out of his misery." Vegeta ordered as Celero nodded.

Without another word, Celero blasted Spopovich with a powerful ki ball, vaporizing the man instantly. He fell to his knees, shaking, he hadn't been called Butcher in decades, and here he was, back to his old ways. He heard footsteps stop in front of him. He looked up to see Vegeta staring down at him, stone-faced as ever.

"I'm sorry Prince Vegeta. I did not mean for it to happen this way." Celero apologized. "I felt rage at this man, he deserved to die, but I-i never meant for the Butcher to resurface."

Vegeta, uncharacteristically, held a hand out to the elder Saiyan, "On your feet!" Vegeta ordered as Celero took his hand and stood up, towering over the Prince. "Whether you meant to or not, the Butcher was a tool of Freeza. I never want to see that animal again, am I understood?" Vegeta asked angrily as Celero nodded.

Over Vegeta's shoulder, Celero could see at the entrance of the waiting room was Videl and Gohan. "How much of that did she see?" he asked as Vegeta looked over his shoulder.

"None of it, the boy just got back with senzu beans." Vegeta stated as he pushed Celero towards the waiting room, "Now let's get this tournament going again, I have a score to settle with Kakarot."

As they entered the waiting room, Vegeta pushed Celero against the wall. "Now talk! How long have you been on Earth? What is your relation to the girl? and what the hell happened out there!?"

Celero's eyes were dark, "I've been on Earth for far too long. It's been peaceful, nothing the Earthlings couldn't handle, so I left it to them so I could try and find some inner peace. To try and kill the Butcher once and for all. I took a vow to avoid violence at all costs." Celero began explaining.

Vegeta smirked, "That doesn't seem to have worked out too well, has it?" he said with a chuckle before his face turned hard again, "Why did you react to the girl being beaten to a pulp?" Vegeta asked as he let Celero go and crossed his arms.

"She's my granddaughter. When my daughter was born, I made that vow. My mate and I left Planet Vegeta with our daughter, Helena. We wanted to raise her on a quiet world, however, I despite my vow, I was still prone to fits of rage. My mate decided Helena was safer not knowing us, at least as her parents. We cut off her tail and gave her to be raised by humanity." Celero stated as slid to the ground, "I always meant to tell her about her heritage, but when my mate passed, I went looking for her, and found she too had passed of the same heart virus that her mother passed from. She died before I could teach her heritage, but she had a daughter in turn, and I decided when the time was right, Videl would learn of her Saiyan heritage."

It was quiet for a few minutes, "What's a Saiyan?" Videl's voice broke through the tense air as Celero looked up to see his granddaughter, perfectly healed and stronger than ever.

"Master, I find it quite odd that you did nothing to help Spopovich fight this man." Dabura stated as Babidi smiled devilishly at his screen as the massacre replayed.

"Please Dabura. Spopovich was nothing but a dog. Even with me supplying him power, he was picked apart by a little girl. This one though, is interesting. He might just make the perfect candidate to replace Spopovich." Babidi stated with glee as the screen paused on the Butcher's gleeful face as he was meticulously mutilating Spopovich.

"Besides, if the Kai really does allow us to take the energy we need, then he'll likely bring this Butcher straight to us as well. We have a mole that doesnt even realize he's a mole yet!" Babidi exclaimed.

Bardock stood outside the control room and gritted his teeth in anger. 'I'll be damned to let another Saiyan fall under that runt's control. Even if it is the Butcher, he deserves better.' Bardock thought as he began running back to his quarters.

End Chapter

A/N: I apologize for the delay in publishing this chapter. I have been rather busy. My work has been ramping up due to Halloween and Christmas coming up, on top if that, I have my own child to take care of, and I havent had much of a chance to write chapter 6 or publish this chapter.
