When Zuko and Sokka meet as children after the Southern Water Tribe is not only invaded, but conquered by the Fire Nation, they realize unlikely alliances can be formed in war. Now, the boys can let the differences between their families and cultures bring them together to stop the bloodshed or allow the years of hatred to win before the war is even won.

Zuko and Katara's fates intertwine when she saves his life. Zuko swears a life debt to Katara vowing to protect and obey her, becoming an unexpected and untrusted ally of the Avatar's group. While struggling to gain the group's trust and experiencing several mishaps, he reluctantly aids their mission while Katara grapples with her new role and whether she can gain Zuko's trust.

I watched Aang examine the necklace, and a dead silence came over him. He had thought he was the last air-bender. Yet, in his eyes, I could tell he realized that no matter how much the Fire Nation tried to destroy the world, the world would always find a way to keep the balance.

After a tough breakup with Katara, Aang reluctantly agrees to help Zuko find his mother along with Azula. Expecting nothing but a disaster of a trip, he's quickly surprised as he finds out more about the fallen princess than he would have ever expected.

Instead of Zuko, it is Azula that Firelord Azulon demands sacrificed. This single change shall ripple across the fate of the world; Ozai shall not be Firelord, Azula shall question everything she ever knew, and the world shall be very different when the Avatar returns.
