PROLOGUE

DECEPTION

Page 1/4,328

To the reader,

Greetings, The journal said: I am absolutely thankful to have William Anderson as both my writer, and editor to share what I've seen in works. My ideals as an explorer are to venture the world, and share what I've witnessed to the Scottish Royal Family. I believed providing new information, and perspectives to them from the world outside of Scotland may assist us in recovering from the wars against the English. What fortune of information we may receive was my duty.

At least, that was the original intention.

I had stumbled across a strange, glowing object in Norway. It was a sight I had never witnessed before in my life, and somehow, it defied gravity. I felt an urge to walk up to the light, to touch, and see what would happen. I refused to stop until my curiosity was satisfied. When my finger first laid contact, I was knocked to the ground, and the light had vanished. I never understood its origins, what's capable of, or why it was there.

It read on: What I did know was after my encounter, I was having "visions", and "voices" in my mind, consistently telling me about the existence of other worlds beyond earth, and how to enter them. The amount of knowledge, and how I obtained it was astounding, I must say, and may even be more impactful than any other discovery in history.

Unfortunately, Prince Lawrence Loud III did not believe anything I had to say, and neither did most of the Royal Family. My external assistance for them had expired and it was time for me to leave. I had all this knowledge, and nobody to heed it. I was certain the visions were not false, and possessed a purpose of some kind. Nobody came to help me until the day came when I met William. I had dedicated my life to sharing, and understanding the things in my mind with my partner until my final breath. What you will read next upon opening the next page will contain summaries of the thousands of visions I had obtained, recording them, and explaining their characteristics. I do not have control over the decisions, or actions of what you may do with the information I may present, but I hope you at least find it interesting.

With warmest regards,

P

ACT VII, CHAPTER XVI

Ah, I'm sure you are pleased with how the land of the brightest sky had lived on, The journal started: Unfortunately, this one did not have a happily ever after. It was a kingdom named Sluidora. Despite its location being a remote desert, it bloomed of equality, and peace. Originally, it was nothing more than trading path between foreign civilizations who wish to trade at extreme distances. I then wondered; how could such a desolate area, with no reliable way to obtain food and water, have such an infrastructure in the first place?

I was lost with the situation, until I found out about a man named Vladimir Iverson, who was previously a trader. He had found gold, dug underneath layers of sand after he complained about stepping on something thick. Lots, and lots of gold, presumably hidden from a time much more distant than the one Vladimir was in. He sold the gold, and then claimed the land he was in to live in it, as it also contained iron, copper, and more metallic materials. I wonder how many times travelers had stepped over something precious without realizing it.

The book continued: Many had told Vladimir it would not work, but he ignored their warnings. He wanted to turn the desert into a place where man can live, and would not fear the heat of the sun. He succeeded, using the items he traded to obtain materials, and workers. It was not a large palace, but to Iverson, it was home, along with his wife, Natasha. Many had respected Iverson for his accomplishment. Many had not, whether it'd be jealously, envy, or an external factor. Regardless, Vladimir had always cared for his people, ensuring they had food, water, and peaceful place to stay, where everyone can live equally without fear of judgement, or disruption.

Until one day, Vladimir had died after an assassination attack from a soldier of a rival army. His wife was infertile, and could not bear a child. He told his wife, on his death bed, to move on, and find someone else who could take his position as the prince of Sluidora.

Unfortunately, she did not listen to his wishes.

It carried on: On one night, she, and escorted by a few highly-trained guards, approached a deity. She wanted to make a deal with it, and I will let the words I memorized speak for itself.

"Lionas, I deeply apologize for all the attacks my kingdom had done to you. Please, I-"

"I know," Lionas said, "And I can give what you seek. Your husband's body will be revived, but you must give me something in return. I do not seek care for your family, or your kingdom, I seek only for myself."

"What must I give you?"

"The Dagger, forged by the Souls of the Rebelling Underworld. One that can harm even the most powerful forces. By giving me The Dagger, you accept that your kingdom will be more vulnerable to threats, even to those you would have otherwise defeated had The Dagger been with you. The beasts will roar, and the deathless will no longer die. It is a price that will affect you, and hundreds of people, but, if you ever wish to hear your husband's voice again, you must accept."

And, The book said: so it was. Natasha had given The Dagger and the kingdom's both doctor, and mage had announced for the first time in history, someone was brought back to life. I hadn't seen Natasha's so happy since the day she married him.

Unfortunately, things did not go so well.

Previously, the prince had hand selected his best soldiers to wield The Dagger in the event of a serious attack; now, the deathless could no longer be killed, so they had to resort to containing the undying beasts in cages, enhanced by magic. The kingdom of Sluidora had been going worse ever since the prince's revival, due to poor decision making, neglect of duties, and the prince being more interested in lust or intercourse than his job as a prince, and husband.

I recall a decision made by Prince Vladimir where all people in Sluidora were allowed to marry more than one person; that was an anomaly, as I had never expected that, and even more bizarre when I factor in that, he was secretly sleeping with numerous women, until one day his wife caught him sleeping naked with a stranger after she heard of a report from an eye-witness, claiming to have seen Prince Vladimir entering his friend's home.

How Prince Vladimir orchestrated his unfaithful act of polygamy is irrelevant; it shook the kingdom, and a scandal broke out. Princess Natasha ordered the women to be executed without trial, who's order was mostly ignored due to moral/legal concerns. It bothered me why Prince Vladimir behaved in that manner, or if the soul the possessed that body was indeed Vladimir himself.

The journal resumed: Vladimir had changed form into a large, unkillable beast that destroyed its own palace, and kingdom with it as retaliation. Many soldiers stood to fight the beast; none were successful. Many hid, and died, including Princess Natasha, who was within the palace when the beast destroyed it. Others fled, whether it was to another civilization, or through magic. Some lived to tell the tale, and foreign armies stagged a defence, not wanting to provoke it. Nobody wanted to fight a beast who could not be killed.

It was the I had realized something; it's not confirmed, but I believe the soul that possessed the body of Prince Vladimir was the deity itself; it tricked Natashia into giving away The Dagger so that, should the time come when it a war started against it, it would not fear the blade itself.

Regardless, I am left saddened at how the kingdom of Sluidora came to end. Deceived, and taken advantage of by a deity, who made it clear it had no concern for your people to bring back something that was lost. It can be frustrating to many how all of this could've been prevented, had Princess Natasha listened to her husband's final words. Perhaps, her broken heart could not accept the wound it received

And maybe; the soul that left the body of Princess Natasha, whom was now with the one she loved, had realized it came with the price of the many who looked up to her.
