"Alright, excluding Bakugo that's one person left to choose their hero name!" Midnight says next to Aizawa Shota, better known as Eraserhead.
"Yukimura! Wake up and show us your hero name!" Midnight shouts, and Shota tries to fall back into the sweet embrace of sleep.
"'Kay, Midnigh-sensei," Yukimura murmurs in the back of the room, before something is quickly scribbled onto a whiteboard and Shota hears her walk up to the front.
"Magneto," She says, half awake clearly by the slur of her words. Shota, for once in his life, can empathize with one of his students.
"Very on the nose, but good!" Midnight comments.
"Wait, isn't that the name of one of those old superhero comics? Before quirks?" Midoriya Izuku asks. "I'm not sure so sorry if I'm wrong."
There's a sudden silence for a moment.
" shit ."
"Language, Yukimura," Shota says half on instinct.
"Sorry for the inconvenience," She replies, likely also on instinct.
"I'm sorry if you were trying to keep that secret! I'm sure no one else knows, I've only seen some mentions of it on leftovers of the old internet!" Midoriya quickly apologizes, panicked sounding.
"It's… fine. I'm gonna go back to sleep now." Yukimura walks away from the podium and back to her seat.
Shota lets sleep take him away as Bakugo stomps back up with another name.
"Are we allowed to pick our teacher's agencies?" Yukimura asks Shota, as they stand outside the teachers lounge.
Shota feels dread.
"Yes, but it isn't often done. Why?" He asks, already knowing the answer.
"I'd like to intern under you, sensei, if you'd have me. You balance agility and strength, which would be better for me than someone like Gunhead," Yukimura explains. Shota resists the urge to look skyward.
"You'll have to keep up," Shota states. "The kind of villains I fight aren't showy like All Might's. If you can't stomach that then you're better off with one of the other thousand offers you got."
And she would be, considering she had almost exactly as many offers as Todoroki. The kind of villains Shota fights fight dirty and fight to kill.
He humors this request because she's one of his least troublesome students, that's it.
"Did you forget what Kaito is?" Yukimura asks.
Her father has a listed body count of one-hundred-fifty-three. He doesn't think he can. It's a good point, though.
First he stares unblinkingly at her for a few moments, just long enough that anyone else would start fidgeting.
So much for his week off.
"Fine. If you complain you're doing laps."
"Yes, sensei."
On the screen a short haired girl with half her hair in a bun at the back of her head jumps over an explosion, a blonde haired boy shouting " Die! ".
" That was a close one, Yukimura! Bakugo sends more metal flying and Yukimura has landed on her feet! " The Hero announcer says loudly, and people around him cheer.
Kenzo dodges another explosion, and in a smooth twist sends metal spiraling at her opponent when she faces him again.
"Man, your kid can use metal as good as you did back in the day," Bloodranger comments beside him.
Kaito has to agree.
His daughter's opponent rolls out of the way of another piece of railing and shouts something not quite heard by the cameras.
The camera twists to show Kenzo shout something back with a wild grin.
She twists out of the way of another explosion and is tackled by her opponent, and she gets a good punch to the side of his face before she's forced outside the ring, pancaking on the concrete and panting.
" Yukimura Kenzo is out of bounds !" The announcer shouts. " Bakugo Katsuki wins !"
What a rookie mistake, and she doesn't even stand up after a battle like that.
Her opponent holds out a hand with a sneer. Kenzo takes it with a small smile and half lidded eyes.
Yukimura Kaito aches for his bat .
"Damn, can't believe she lost to that blonde angry fucker," One of the Yakuza comments in the back, and Kaito sends his table flying at them without even an expression change. As it hits the man with the satisfying crunch of broken nose, Kaito is tackled to the ground by a guard.
What a disappointment.
"What do you see?" Aizawa Shota, currently going by Eraserhead, asks.
"Six thugs, one victim, the leader is the one with a lion head," Yukimura Kenzo, currently going by Magneto, states.
"Good. You will retrieve the victim and protect her, should your target be threatened you have permission to use non-lethal force." Eraserhead readies his capture weapon and his hair flies above his head.
"Affirmative, Eraserhead," Magneto replies. Then, they're off.
Shota watches carefully as he drop kicks the lion thug in the head, watching Yukimura drop with the flutter of her cape and send the man holding the victim to the wall, clutching the chain around his neck not quiet cutting off air.
Good.
"You're safe," Yukimura murmurs, before detaching her cape and wrapping it around the woman, before settling them both on the roof above. Shots punches the thug trying to sneak up on him and kicks the next in the jaw.
A thug tries to follow Yukimura, but Shota's capture weapon grabs him first, throwing him into the wall and subsequently his just freed no longer chain wearing friend.
Shota punches the last thug, before beginning to gather up the leftovers.
"Come down, Magneto," Shota says.
Yukimura follows his order easily, gently getting to the ground and releasing the business woman in her cape onto the ground.
Shota narrows his eyes behind his eyewear, noting the unnatural allure around the woman. Likely a natural aura, similar to a mutation quirk. No wonder she'd been harassed.
"Thank you! Please, tell me your name hero-san! Magneto already did," The woman says.
"Eraserhead. We'll be bringing the police here to handle these thugs, you don't mind staying to press charges and take a statement?" It's not really a question, but Shota's found that people respond better to being asked than told in these situations.
"Of course! I- thank you, Eraserhead. And you as well, Magneto."
Shota goes through how to properly prep criminals for the police with Yukimura in a low voice while they wait for the police to arrive. Yukimura is one of the easiest students Shota's ever had, if he's honest. That's ignoring her emotional baggage, but otherwise she's definitely the easiest.
Dodge training. Shota finds he likes dodge training.
Yukimura gets faster and he gets to watch her panic for once.
His kicks and punches get purposefully closer and closer, more and more nerve racking. It's good for training to handle high stress situations, at least that's the excuse his second year homeroom teacher gave when he got annoyed enough.
When her strain starts to show on her face he finally calls a break, she won't say she when she should stop on her own, and takes a fifteen minute power nap on the ground in the middle of the park they're in.
"Aizawa-sensei," Yukimura says, waking him up.
"What."
"I think that Shinsou kid should get moved to the hero course. Even if not in our class, he's got serious potential and drive." Shota sighs.
"You're not the only one to think so, Yukimura. Go run six laps."
She sighs but complies, starting off as Shota stares at the sky.
The Shinsou kid does deserve a spot in the hero course, but he can't petition to have him moved into his own class. Every one of his kids matches the drive and/or potential he has or more. He already made a big fuss turning down a recommendation to keep a lot of the exam kids this year, he can't really do much.
He'll talk to Vlad or something. For now, sleep.
Shigaraki Tomura stares at the TV, eyes reflecting the light and his fingers idly scratching at his dry dry skin.
He watches the student on the podium, the one that choked him with Father's hands.
" These games aren't in anyone's favor but the hero department, that's something I can't ignore ." The girl says, leaning her elbows on the podium relaxed and tired like. " But if someone from the general studies or the support department or even management want to bring us to our knees? I welcome it. "
" We are all UA. We all fought to get here, where we stand now. If you can, even if you think you can't win, do it. Because this is UA and anyone can be dethroned. "
The girl starts back off the stage and people cheer in her wake. Shigaraki itches harder.
When he sees her next to the boy chained down, he knows who he wants to turn to his side.
Of course they'd be in Hosu that night.
Kenzo stays close to Aizawa's back as the jump from building to building, towards the fire and destruction.
"Assist in civilian evacuation efforts, you know you're no use in subduing Nomu," Aizawa says in front of her, and she has to cringe inside at the fact that she won't even be doing that tonight.
Her phone buzzes where it's hidden in her suit.
She slips away when the come upon the destruction, and towards the location sent to her.
She hopes Aizawa-sensei won't be mad about this.
Midoriya Izuku stares in despair as Stain raises his sword above Iida's vulnerable neck.
Then, Stain slams into the wall, and fire bursts through the alley.
"So you're murdering children now? Were heroes not enough?" Echoes through the alley, and Yukimura Kenzo drops down, cape proofing out behind her. Todoroki Shoto follows from the other side of the alleyway.
"Sorry I took so long, Izuku, Iida. Send some words next time, will you?" Kenzo says, and Izuku wishes he could wipe the tears building in his eyes.
"More and more distractions. Let me go, girl, or I'll kill you and your firey friend too," Stain says, trying to move against his own weapons holding him in place.
"Midoriya you need to give more details in times like this," Todoroki says, bluntly ignoring the fact that the villain said something.
"I'm sorry, you guys, I'm so sorry!" Izuku shouts. He didn't know what to do, before.
"It's whatever. How does his quirk work? I'd rather not accidentally end up in your current position."
"Are you listening to me? Let me go ," Stain hisses, a look on his face that runs Izuku's blood cold.
Kenzo stares unflinchingly back.
"You are a murderer, and you don't feel bad about it. I'll let you go when the pro heroes can come to handle you, for now you get to sit there and think about how terrible prison will be," Kenzo says coldly, no inflection at all in her tone.
"If he can taste your blood you become paralyzed. I'm so glad you're here, Kenzo, Todoroki." And Izuku is. As powerful as Iida and he are they don't have ways to capture with their quirks.
"I got to ditch my father," Todoroki says, like it's a good thing in itself. It probably is. "Should I freeze him, Yukimura?"
Kenzo nods.
"Extra assurance. I can stay to make sure he doesn't move out of the metal, you go get some heroes to arrest him. Medical too, if possible. Native seems to be having a not so good time," Kenzo states.
Todoroki nods and freezes a now shouting Stain to the wall. "We're sparring after this."
"Sure, Todoroki."
" Hero society is corrupt, and I'm doing the world a favor ! " Stain shouts, voice booming through the alleyway and looking almost crazed. He jerks against his metal restraints and icey cage both. Izuku flinches.
" Stop this ! Stain is mine to kill, Yukimura. How could you possibly understand ?" Iida yells at the girl, and Izuku tries his hardest to turn his head over at the downed boy.
"Iida that's not the way to do this!" Izuku yells.
" You're unworthy boy, and so was your brother. "
Iida makes a noise that shows his frustration and rage.
"You think I don't know what it's like to have family hurt by a monster, Iida?" Kenzo asks, eyes narrowed. "My father is the villain Metalhead. He's still alive and still in prison and he used to beat me and my ma every day."
Izuku's heart stops.
"What-?" Iida asks, voice choked.
"You know what I did to him? Nothing, not a thing until he tried to hit one of my sisters. I beat him up a little and sent him to jail. Because he isn't worth my goddamn revenge. Not garbage like that," Kenzo says, ever calm and eyes shadowed from her helmet. They'd been like that before, but now it's more stark.
The ice around Stain cracks and shatters and Kenzo makes a noise of surprise, firming her stance and her hold on Stain's metal cage.
" You're worthy, girl, but he still isn't, " Stain hisses and Izuku still feels terror all over his body everytime he speaks.
Stain's cutting into his own arms trying to free them and Izuku's starting to gain some feeling in his feet and hands again, thank goodness.
Suddenly, Aizawa-sensei drops into the alleyway and sends his knee into Stain's head a few times, stopping his attempts at escape jarringly.
"Aizawa-sensei!" Izuku cries, and his teacher turns to him, eyes red and hair trailing up.
"You're in trouble.
