Chapter 2: Shinigami on Teacher Duty
From the background, the woman who had been standing with Yuuji earlier reappeared, her laughter permeating the air. She possessed long, flowing hair that seamlessly blended shades of purple and pink, extending all the way down to her knees. Her eyes were a striking and captivating purple, encircled by a golden iris. Her slender and well-endowed figure appeared to be that of a young woman around the age of 17 or 18.
The woman was dressed in a resplendent golden-brown kimono, embellished with a Chrysanthemum pattern that adorned her elegant robe with grace and sophistication. Her presence added an aura of mystique to the already intriguing setting. What really surprised Yoruichi was her robe..it belonged to the Shihouin! Is this..this woman right in front of her..her Zanpakuto..!?
Yoruichi stood unmoving as she continues to gaze upon the woman in front of her. Was this really her zanpakuto or was she something else completely! Sweat flowed down her olive skin before dropping down to her neck.
Unimpressed by the lack of movement, the orian tapped her feet, the sound of her sandal-like shoes clakking in sync, which broke Yoruichi out her her frozen state. Breathing heavily after what felt like 10 minutes, she questions the orian about her Robe, to which she blurted out at the woman.
"Surely you recognise me lady Shihouin..after all you abandoned me for that silly Shunko technique! Imagine how frustrating it was to be left unused, unwanted and useless to your master!" Her face trinkled with tears of broken sorrow with a glimmer of hatred.
"But no matter, It doesn't really matter since we are back together. However..this man you call Yuuji is someone completely different. You're not even a true Shinigami..", those words, the heaviness behind them pressured against Yoruichi. That same feeling of drowning came back from the void she barely escaped.
Yuuji's face formed an irk of irritation with a boom of his voice, Yoruichi was able to escape that feeling. "Enough you two, especially you", Yuuji points towards the zanpakuto spirit as she scoffs off his words, pouting slightly before turning away.
"Whatever disagreements you two had in the past doesn't mean anything as of now. You two are supposed to be one, two peas in a pod yet you argue like immature children! Do you have no shame for yourselves?"
Both women directed their gaze downward, their expressions reflecting a sense of remorse. It became evident that Yuuji's words had struck a chord with them. The past, it seemed, was a realm of actions that could not be altered, and as such, it no longer held significance. What truly mattered was the potential for change and improvement in the future.
Breaking the silence, it was Yoruichi who first lifted her eyes and turned toward her zanpakuto. Her voice carried a tone of contrition as she spoke, "I'm sorry for what I did... but perhaps we can work towards making a change and improving?" The zanpakuto glared at her master before shyly extending out a hand, followed by Yoruichi gripping on it and moving it up and down slowly with a smile on her face.
The zanpakuto's response was measured, making it clear that forgiveness was not easily granted. Nevertheless, it acknowledged Yoruichi's willingness to change and improve, albeit with reservations.
"Just so you know, Lady Shihouin, this doesn't mean that I have fully forgiven you," the zanpakuto whispered into Yoruichi's ear. "However, I'm willing to agree to this because of Yuuji. There's something about him that tells me he's a formidable force."
It was a cautious step forward, indicating that while the past could not be undone, there might be an opportunity for redemption and progress in the future.
Acknowledging the zanpakuto spirit's departure with a nod of understanding, Yoruichi redirected her attention to Yuuji. He remained seated, calmly sipping his cup of the coffee-like liquid. In this moment of reflection and potential transformation, Yoruichi couldn't help but feel that the spirit might be onto something, just who is this Yuuji?
As Yoruichi awoke from her rest, she found herself back in the Sitri guest house. She felt a rather simultaneously strange yet familiar and comforting feeling. Memories of her old friend, Kisuke Urahara, flooded her thoughts, evoking a sense of nostalgia and perhaps a tinge of guilt.
Yoruichi's sigh marked her return to the waking world, her eyes briefly scanning the clock on the wall, confirming that it was 19:27. Determined to begin her evening, she rose from the mattress and made her way to the closet in search of comfort.
Within its confines, she discovered a pajama set that met her requirements for both relaxation and style. The ensemble featured a long-sleeved top and coordinating bottoms, crafted from a luxurious, breathable material that caressed her skin like a gentle embrace.
The top's design was a testament to understated elegance, showcasing a deep V-neckline adorned with delicate lace accents. It provided a fitted yet comfortable silhouette that allowed for unhindered movement. The extended sleeves cocooned her arms in warmth and comfort. The choice of color was an exquisite midnight blue, a shade that exuded an aura of enigmatic sophistication.
The matching bottoms continued the theme of refined aesthetics, hugging her waist and hips snugly without constriction. An abstract pattern, rendered in varying shades of blue and black, graced the fabric, subtly alluding to Yoruichi's connection to the shadows. An elastic waistband ensured a secure yet gentle fit.
Completing the ensemble were slippers that mirrored the deep midnight blue of her attire. They featured a plush, cushioned sole, promising a cloud-like experience with every step she took. As Yoruichi donned this ensemble, she couldn't help but feel that it was a perfect reflection of her confident, stylish, and enigmatic persona, perfectly aligning with her character's essence.
As Yoruichi checked herself in the mirror, she couldn't help but give her reflection an approving nod. The attire suited her well, reflecting her confident and stylish persona.
However, just as she was about to carry on with her evening, the rumble of her stomach reminded her of a more pressing matter..hunger. She responded by placing a hand on her stomach and sighing softly.
Turning her attention to the kitchen, Yoruichi hoped to find a quick snack to quell her appetite. She began her search by inspecting the cabinets and the contents of the fridge, only to discover a limited selection of essential items such as milk, water, bread, eggs, coffee, and tea.
Realizing that she would need to stock up on snacks and other food items herself, Yoruichi couldn't help but mutter in mild annoyance, "I guess I have to get my own stuff, huh? What a pain..." With this acknowledgment, she prepared to venture out and procure the sustenance she needed to satisfy her hunger.
It seems luck was on Yoruichi's side as Sona had already provided her with a small loan of ¥36,614, which is roughly equivalent to $250 American Dollars. Gratefully accepting the money that was placed on the table, Yoruichi made her way to the front door, ensuring to lock it securely with the key given to her. With determination in her step, she swiftly activated her shunpo technique, disappearing from the Sitri Establishment and setting off to acquire the supplies she needed.
Appearing near a Gas station, Yoruichi walks on towards the entrance before being greeted by the sound of a ding, she hears the tired voice of a high school boy greeting her. Ignoring him she continues with her browsing, grabbing a few cups of instant ramen, a bottle of sake, and some mocha. She stops to think about what she could do for lunch tomorrow and decides to grab some ingredients for Onigiri. She checked to see if there was any Nori on the shelves but couldn't find a single packet of them.
Grabbing anything else she could supply herself with, she gives the required amount to the boy and left without a word. She appeared back to the guest house like it was nothing and unlocked the door. Taking out the items she bought, she palces them into their respective areas to keep them fresh for later only leaving one cup of instant ramen on the counter.
Boiling the kettle after filling it with water, she patiently waited for it to finish up. In the mean time she messed around with the furniture layout in the lounge to her comfort. The kettle clicks indicating that her water was ready. Removing the plastic packaging and peeling the lid back halfway. She pours the boling liquid onto the rock-hard noodles until completely submerged with water. Next was the spice packet's content, the spicy chicken flavoured powder. Adding it into the cup, she stirrs it with the chopsticks she found in the kitchen drawer.
She stirred the contents of the pot vigorously, her deft movements causing the noodles to gradually soften and separate, surrendering to the gentle embrace of the simmering water. Grateful for the nourishing meal that awaited her, Yoruichi wasted no time and delved into her food. With each mouthful, she savored the spicy pastry strings, emitting satisfied sounds of appreciation that filled the room.
Aware of the impending curfew, the Shinigami knew she had to make the most of her limited time. Between bites, she continued to fine-tune her new, temporary abode. The seating arrangement, in particular, had bothered her initially, but she was determined to get it just right. She adjusted the seats meticulously, striving for the perfect arrangement that would maximize her comfort during her stay.
As Yoruichi savored her meal and transformed her surroundings into a more welcoming sanctuary, she settled onto the leathery sofa, her gaze fixed on the abyss as if trapped in a trance. In that moment, she no longer felt like herself; the identity of Yoruichi seemed distant. It troubled her how easily she had allowed herself to be exposed to the innocent gaze of a child. Yet, deep down, Yoruichi recognized the hidden devil within that girl, as well as in Souna and her sister. Her life was destined to differ from the typical Shinigami experience.
With one last, deep breath, Yoruichi made her way to the bedroom. She slipped out of her slippers, revealing a birthmark etched across her chest as she pulled back the sheets of the bed. She removed her pajama top, exposing her chest to the dim light. Without dwelling on it further, Yoruichi settled into the cozy warmth of the bed and surrendered to the darkness of her dreams.
The next approaching dawn..
Last night proved to be a harrowing ordeal for Yoruichi. Her incessant tossing and turning caused the bed to creak in protest, exacerbated by the perspiration that accumulated due to the stifling room temperature. The heat, both ambient and within her, seemed inescapable.
Adding to her vexation was the blaring alarm clock strategically positioned beside her bed. It seemed intent on tormenting her, its shrillness a stark contrast to the peaceful night she had longed for. The time displayed on the clock mercilessly read 4:50 in the morning. Someone must have set it at that ungodly hour, or perhaps, Yoruichi herself had inadvertently programmed it during her attempts to navigate the unfamiliar intricacies of the modern era.
Once she had finally figured out the switch off, she roughly laid back down onto the mattress, only to be met by the creaking of the springs as one broke from the force of Yoruichi. She sighed with frustration as this wasn't how she thought the day was going to start, noisy clock, creaky bed and a boiling heat.
She got up and looked into her closet finding the perfect clothing to wear for school. Yoruichi would opt for a tailored, sophisticated look that exudes confidence and authority. She wore a well-fitted pantsuit or a knee-length skirt paired with a coordinating blazer in neutral tones like charcoal gray, deep navy, or classic black. The ensemble would be made of high-quality, comfortable materials that allow her to move with ease while maintaining a polished appearance. Underneath her blazer, Yoruichi wears a crisp, button-up blouse in a complementary color. Her choice of accessories would be minimal but tasteful, a simple necklace and a pair of elegant stud earrings. For footwear, Yoruichi selected practical yet stylish options, like classic pumps or low-heeled loafers that are comfortable for long days on her feet. She'd ensure her shoes are well-maintained and polished. Yoruichi's hair would likely be neatly styled, and she might choose to tie it back in a bun or a professional updo to keep it out of her face during teaching.
Gazing at her reflection in the closet mirror, she carefully spritzed on a perfume that whispered sophistication and maturity. The fragrance, a harmonious blend of lilac and lavender, unfurled like a secret promise, leaving an indelible mark that lingered in the air. It wasn't just a scent; it was an aura, the subtle floral notes hinted at depth and wisdom, embodying the essence of a teacher who was not just experienced but also deeply passionate about her craft. As she walked out of the room, the delicate fragrance followed her like an invisible badge of authority.
With the clock reading 5:45am, she decided to have an early breakfast. Her goal for the day : to familiarize herself with her new surroundings and perhaps make some allies in the near future, maybe after school. As she reached for a quick meal, she suddenly realized she had forgotten to pick up a box of cereal. Craving sustenance, she grabbed a weathered, brown shoulder bag, the guest house keys dangling from her free hand. She made sure to take the money Souna had given her. She was attempting to see if Souna was going to allow her to grab a quick bite from the main household. Unfortunately it appeared that Souna had..already left it seemed? She was informed by the headmaid, who we shall call Lisa, that Souna had some business to do earlier this dawn. That's already suspicious to her but she knew Souna was a devil and that Souna assumed Yoruichi was a "Yokai", a Nekomata. Lisa kindly let Yoruichi in but she sensed that the Headmaid was a demonic being as well..but something else dwelled inside this maid, something Yoruichi herself was aware of, yet Lisa hadn't noticed it.
Ignoring the strange presence, Yoruichi was seated on a chair. Lisa asked one of the house cooks to make the guest a bowl of Tamago Kake Gohan, a Japanese dish consisting of steamed rice topped with a raw egg and seasoned with soy sauce and salt. Yoruichi appreciated the effort and dug in hungrily, grateful for a proper meal.
As she finished the rice and soup, Yoruichi thanked Lisa and the cook for their hospitality and checked the time. It was already 6:25am, and she was running later than she had hoped. Before leaving, Lisa gave Yoruichi a bento box for the day, knowing that Yoruichi hadn't prepared food for herself.
Yoruichi thanked Lisa and darted out of the house to make it on time, avoiding detection from anyone else in the household. As she made it outside, she was greeted by the rising sun, flashing into her eyes. The subtle glare wasn't too bad to the eye, it was almost..beautiful to see. After looking at the sun for a few more seconds, Yoruichi headed off the direction of Souna's aura which was located at the same place they met, Kuoh Academy.
Upon the arrival of the entrance of Kuoh Academy..
Yoruichi had made her arrival to the Academy entrance as she was greeted by the setting of it..
The central structure of Kuoh Academy is its Main Academic Building, acting as the epicenter of education. This architectural marvel seamlessly marries traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern functionality. Its exterior showcases a harmonious blend of classic design elements and contemporary conveniences.
Scattered across the campus are charming courtyards, serving as versatile spaces for various activities and moments of reprieve. Among these, Yoruichi found herself captivated by one particular courtyard graced by a majestic cherry blossom tree. Rising from the earth, its sprawling branches extended like arms, generously bestowing the surroundings with delicate pink petals.
Besides the Main Academic Building, Kuoh Academy offers an array of clubhouses, each a dedicated haven for students pursuing their interests beyond the classroom. These diverse spaces cater to a range of extracurricular activities, further enriching the student experience.
It seemed like Students were only starting to arrive as a group of girls made their way through the gate on the campus grounds, but they noticed the Mature woman standing outside the gate. They murmured to each other, which Yoruichi picked up with her keen hearing. She had a feeling that she might become the talk of the school for a couple of days, which she didn't mind at all. She'll need to make good impressions to gain their trust.
Upon entering the campus, the atmosphere almost changed the instant moment her foot stepped on the ground, it was as demonic as expected.(It would kinda be like that one scene from Jujutsu Kaisen Zero where Yuta Steps into the class.)
Her body had grown accustomed to the oppressive presence that once made her gag uncontrollably from its foulness. Now, she no longer had to fear the overwhelming nausea that accompanied the putrid stench. It was as if someone had taken a decaying corpse and doused it in bleach—a grim transformation that still left an unsettling residue.
With a sense of duty in mind, Yoruichi began her search for Souna, knowing she needed to report to the principal after their meeting. It didn't take long for her to spot the nerdy-looking girl in the company of another bespectacled girl. The wind gently tousled their long hair as they conversed, their presence standing out in the bustling surroundings. Her bust were a decent size, roughly from an estimated guess, CC-DD.
Uncertain whether to approach them directly or wait for Souna to notice her, Yoruichi ultimately chose to take action. With a sense of purpose, she walked up to Souna and lightly tapped her on the shoulder. The unexpected touch startled the other girl, causing her to jump in surprise at Yoruichi's sudden appearance. Souna herself was taken aback, wondering how Yoruichi had managed to pass her heightened senses so easily. Even a nekoshou of her caliber should have been detected by Souna's usually keen perception.
Yoruichi couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at their startled reactions; it was a small victory that made her feel a bit more like her old trickster self. Souna, acknowledging her presence, cleared her throat and extended a greeting.
"Good morning, Shihouin-sensei," she began, a hint of formality in her tone. "It seems you've found your way here quite well. Allow me to introduce you to Tsubaki Shinra, vice-president of the Student Council."
Tsubaki offered a respectful bow to Yoruichi as she introduced herself, her demeanor poised and courteous.
"Greetings, Shihouin-sensei," she began with a polite tone. "I'm Tsubaki Shinra, and as Lady Shitori mentioned, I serve as the Vice-president of the Student Council. Lady Shitori is our esteemed President."
Souna expressed her gratitude to Tsubaki for the introduction, creating an opening for Yoruichi to introduce herself to Tsubaki.
"Sup, names Shihouin Yoruichi," she began, extending a friendly hand toward Tsubaki, "and I'll be your new P.E. teacher starting from tod—"
Yoruichi's introduction was abruptly cut short by the sudden appearance of three male students sprinting down the hallway, closely pursued by an enraged group of female students wielding wooden swords. The chaotic scene unfolded before them, momentarily stealing everyone's attention.
Yoruichi couldn't suppress a sigh as the familiar clichéd scene played out before her. With determined grace, she moved forward and swiftly intercepted the three boys, their mischievous expressions instantly morphing into ones of terror as she held them in place.
At first, they squirmed under the impression they'd been caught by the pursuing girls, but their confusion deepened as they found themselves face-to-face with a mature woman instead. Among them, a spiky, brown-haired boy met Yoruichi's gaze with perverted intent, earning him a swift, decisive punch to the face courtesy of the formidable woman.
Souna expressed her disappointment in Hyoudou, the boy who had been caught inappropriately ogling the new teacher, Yoruichi. She muttered her disapproval, "How disgusting, Hyoudou, already lusting over the new teacher," her voice tinged with disapproval. The friends accompanying Hyoudou weren't faring any better, exhibiting similarly objectionable behavior.
Souna's disappointment, however, was not solely directed at the students. She also expressed her discontent with Yoruichi's punch, reminding her of a previous conversation. "Shihouin-sensei, didn't I say not to hurt students?" Her words carried a note of concern for their well-being and a reminder of the school's rules and expectations.
Yoruichi was visibly upset by Souna's response, feeling that the boys deserved the consequences for their unacceptable behavior of spying on the girls. However, she couldn't deny that Souna was right in this situation. As per the agreed-upon guidelines, Yoruichi was only supposed to interact with students in specific situations, and reprimanding them wasn't part of her role. It was a reminder that she needed to adhere to her designated responsibilities within the school.
Tsking in mild frustration, Yoruichi turned her attention to Souna and requested that she be registered in the school's system. She recognized the importance of having proper documentation, and it was only thanks to Yuuji that she had been able to create accurate records. The bureaucratic process had been a hassle, and she couldn't help but wonder if the stress of it all had contributed to her feeling unusually warm during the night.
Securing approval from Souna, Yoruichi proceeded to the principal's office to meet the mysterious figure in person. Standing before the door, she knocked twice, the sound reverberating softly through the corridor. In response, a deep, rusty, male voice emanated from within the room, carrying an undeniable aura of authority and power. It sent a shiver down Yoruichi's spine as she awaited further instructions or permission to enter.
She couldn't help but wonder if they were truly human, given the sheer presence exuded by the man inside. Yet, despite the intimidating voice, Yoruichi sensed no malice from him. She hadn't seen him yet, so she refrained from making judgments.
With a deep breath, Yoruichi turned the door handle, allowing it to swing open gradually. As the door revealed the office's interior, her gaze landed on a man seated in a chair, calmly waiting. He possessed a distinguished beard, a cascade of black hair that ran down his neck, and eyes that resembled precious gems. On the surface, he had an air of sophistication.
However, something about him sent a shiver down Yoruichi's spine, an unsettling feeling that gnawed at her senses. It was as if there was an aura of unease surrounding him, something that defied explanation. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she couldn't shake the sensation that there was more to this man than met the eye.
Introducing himself as Ryoushu Yuuga, he would now be Yoruichi's new boss, a fact that didn't sit well with her given her independent nature. The initial conversation between them was brief and somewhat awkward, reflecting the unfamiliarity of their new working relationship.
However, Ryoushu quickly got down to business and handed Yoruichi the full schedule of her P.E. classes. For her first period, she would be teaching class 2-A. Yoruichi couldn't help but assume that this was one of the smartest or, at the very least, the most knowledgeable classes in the school. She pondered her plans for their physical training, contemplating running warm-ups and limb stretches to gauge their fitness levels.
As she held the schedule in her hands, a mischievous grin crossed Yoruichi's face. She felt a sense of empowerment at the prospect of teaching again, relishing the opportunity to impart her knowledge and skills to the students in her charge. She departed the office without a thank you and headed to the teacher's room as she was greeted by students along the way.
As Yoruichi settled into her room, she was approached by a woman named Kowai Gankaku. Kowai appeared to be in her late 30s, boasting a slim figure, a decent-sized bust, and luxurious brown hair adorned with blonde highlights. She stood at a height of approximately 167 centimeters, according to Yoruichi's estimation.
"You must be the new teacher, Shihouin Yoruichi?" Gankaku began with a warm smile. "The name's Kowai Gankaku, but you may call me Gankaku."
Yoruichi reciprocated with a polite bow and extended her hand for a handshake. "You may call me Yoruichi. I don't particularly care for formalities. So, I'm guessing you're my senior in a way?" She inquired, curious about her colleague's experience at the school.
Gankaku firmly grasped Yoruichi's hand and shook it with a polite smile. "In a way, yes," she replied, her tone pleasant. "Since this is probably your first time actually teaching, you can consider me your senpai in a way."
Yoruichi couldn't help but feel a pang of irritation at the thought of having to listen to someone else, especially when she was used to being her own boss, except for a few exceptions like Kisuke. However, she maintained a polite demeanor, acknowledging the hierarchy within the school.
"Anyways, anything I should be aware of, Gankaku-senpai?" Yoruichi inquired, trying to maintain her polite façade even though she couldn't help but feel a bit nauseated at the thought of considering this human her senior. She despised having to act this way to avoid drawing attention to herself. However, the only thing more unpleasant was the pervasive smell of Devilish presence that seemed to linger in the school's corridors. It was quite the build up, and very concentrated in one spot of the grounds.
Gankaku couldn't help but notice the sudden change in Yoruichi's demeanor, as she seemed unwell. Concerned, Gankaku asked if she was experiencing any nausea. Yoruichi quickly brushed it off, attributing her discomfort to nervousness about working in such an unfamiliar environment. However, her explanation only seemed to heighten Gankaku's suspicions.
The ringing of the bell signaled the start of the school day, prompting Gankaku to leave the teacher's room and head to her own class. Yoruichi took a moment to check her bag, ensuring she had the necessary items: money, lunch, and the keys to the guest home.
After completing her check, Yoruichi ventured into the courtyard adjacent to one of the buildings housing the grade classrooms. There, she found an array of sports equipment, including softballs, bats, soccer balls, and more. The sight hinted at the physical activities she would be overseeing during her P.E. classes.
Ring ring..
As the bell rang and the rhythmic footsteps of students filled the air, Yoruichi watched as a total of 19 students made their way onto the courtyard ground. She had set up a warm-up course for them to begin after some stretching exercises.
Notably, she observed an uneven distribution of boys and girls among the students, and she couldn't help but anticipate potential trouble brewing among both groups. The sound of students chattering and gossiping about their new teacher brought a smirk of delight to Yoruichi's face as she reveled in the attention.
"Good morning, Sensei!" most of the students shouted their greetings.
Yoruichi acknowledged them with a warm smile before addressing the class. "Good morning! As you know, I'm going to be your new P.E. teacher from here on out. You'll listen to me, answer my questions, and follow my instructions, even if it means accepting my punishments..."
At that moment, a mischievous male voice interrupted her, exclaiming, "That's what she said!" Yoruichi couldn't help but be amused by the comment and decided to engage with the student. "Well, well, looks like we've got a tough guy here, huh? What's your name, boy?"
The voice belonged to Higami Asahi, a red-haired boy with a build that was unremarkable but suited his confident attitude. His long hair gave him a somewhat girlish appearance, but his expression and demeanor hinted at his true nature.
"I'm Higami Asahi. It's a pleasure to meet ya!" the boy introduced himself with smug confidence, though he appeared somewhat confounded by Yoruichi's amused laughter.
Yoruichi's laughter continued as she responded to his jest. "Well then, I can tell you must be quite the clown, rookie. Your red hair certainly could pass for a clown's nose!" Her playful banter lightened the mood, and she seemed to be enjoying the exchange with her new students.
The class snickered along with their teacher as Higami blushed with embarrassment, his peers finding humor in the exchange. Yoruichi's ability to lighten the atmosphere was evident, and she seemed to have established a rapport with her students in no time.
However, the playful banter was cut short when Yoruichi clapped her hands and instructed the class to change into their P.E. uniforms. She, too, went to change before returning to a somewhat unruly and disorganized class. Yoruichi took charge, grasping her whistle and blowing it sharply, commanding the students to line up.
"Alright, you bunch of brats," she began sternly, "today, we will be doing basic warm-ups! I expect each of you to push your boundaries, to test your limits! I don't want to hear any excuses like, 'But Shihouin-sensei...'" Her voice trailed off with a warning tone. "Now, line up at the start, and I'll address each of you individually. Am I understood?"
Yoruichi's persistence paid off as she received the acknowledgment she was looking for, and the class fell into line. The students took turns running the course one by one, with each seemingly trying to outdo the previous in terms of speed. However, there were some slower participants in the mix.
As she observed their efforts, Yoruichi couldn't help but make mental notes. She calculated the average time it took the students to complete the course, which amounted to approximately 1 minute and 23 seconds in total. It was a decent start, but she believed they had the potential to improve with time and practice.
Yoruichi, aiming to regain their attention, made another sharp clap. Her smirk, while seemingly delighted, held a hint of falseness to it. Despite the efforts of some students, she couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment. This course was one of the simplest ones to complete, yet most of them couldn't finish it in under a minute.
A sigh escaped her lips, and it didn't go unnoticed by the students, who began to worry about their teacher's reaction. Yoruichi's expectations were evidently high, and it seemed that her disappointment stemmed from their performance on what she considered a relatively straightforward task.
Yoruichi decided to address the students directly about her feelings. "Well... I'm not upset," she began, her voice firm but not unkind. "I'm quite disappointed in your performance. Most of you couldn't finish this course in under a minute."
Her words were stern, and she didn't mince her feelings. She continued, her expectations clear. "To those who did finish in under a minute, I expect you to lead by example. As for those who find this too challenging, listen up! You are going to improve, whether it means pushing yourself to the limit or practicing until you can do it in your sleep. You have a choice: work hard and succeed, or go home and stay on the sofa!"
Yoruichi's message was crystal clear: she expected dedication and improvement from her students, and she wasn't going to settle for less.
The students responded to Yoruichi's words with a mix of nods, embarrassed glances, and sweat-dotted foreheads. As the bell rang to signal the end of the first period, Yoruichi concluded the lesson.
"Alright, brats," she addressed them one last time, "take those words to heart, and I hope to see more enthusiasm from you on Thursday! You are dismissed from today's lesson!"
With that, the students were free to go, and they dispersed, some carrying the weight of Yoruichi's expectations with them as they left the courtyard.
Yoruichi couldn't help but reflect on the day's experience as she watched the students disperse. She muttered to herself, "Well... definitely going to be something. If I can handle a squad, then students shouldn't be as hard."
Indeed, little did Yoruichi know that she was in for a whole different set of challenges when she eventually crossed paths with Issei and his group of friends. They proved to be a handful in their own unique way, and their behavior continued to be as disgusting as she had initially observed.
They shamelessly peeked on girls and made inappropriate jokes about fellow students. Yoruichi's frustration with their behavior grew, and at times, she couldn't help but feel a strong urge to take matters into her own hands and teach them a lesson they wouldn't forget. Dealing with the antics of Issei and his friends would become an ongoing challenge during her tenure at Kuoh Academy.
Lunch time skip...
As Yoruichi sat in the teacher's office, enjoying her bento box given by Lisa and keeping an eye on the students, she was interrupted by a familiar presence. Souna approached her, and it became apparent that Yoruichi had been reported for her somewhat aggressive approach toward the first-year students.
Yoruichi couldn't help but feel annoyed by the thought of the student who had reported her behavior. She suspected it was the girl from 1-C who seemed to have a problem with her. Yoruichi had little patience for those who couldn't handle her jokes and shrugged it off, deciding it wasn't her problem if the girl couldn't take a bit of humor.
As fate would have it, the very girl who seemed determined to complain about Yoruichi's behavior arrived once again. However, this time, Yoruichi had no interest in entertaining her complaints and chose to ignore her completely. Instead, Yoruichi desired some alone time and didn't want any more attention.
Seeing that her complaints were falling on deaf ears, the girl finally decided to retreat. Yoruichi couldn't resist having the last word, though, and threatened, "Alright, brat, if you can't keep your mouth shut, let me do that for you..." The girl immediately panicked and ran off in haste, leaving Yoruichi feeling satisfied with her response.
Yoruichi's frustration boiled over as she mused, "And here I thought my brother was an idiot... gosh, children are the worst... why can't I just be alone in peace, I JUST WANT TO EAT MY FOOOOOOOODDDDDD!" She shouted out in exasperation, causing some concerned looks from other teachers in the vicinity.
"So...how's the school going for you, kiddo?" Yoruichi recognized that voice instantly, even though she wasn't quite accustomed to it. In her mind, she formed an illusion of Yuuji standing there as if they were communicating telepathically.
"What do you want, Yuuji? Come to complain as well?" she asked with a hint of irritation. Yuuji chuckled softly before appearing next to Yoruichi.
"You might need to ask Souna for some advice when dealing with the angels," he began. "I wasn't kidding about the whole increase in their appearances. It might be due to the rift left beh—" Yuuji's words were cut off abruptly as Yoruichi dropped her bento box, staining the floor with soybeans and rice. Without another word, she swiftly exited the room, using her shunpo technique to reach the rooftop in an instant.
Once there, she let out a frustrated roar, venting her anger, "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN THERE WAS A RIFT?! AND WHY DO YOU ONLY TELL ME THIS NOW!" Her frustration and confusion were palpable as she demanded answers from Yuuji.
Yuuji maintained his classic smirk as he watched Yoruichi's outburst. Her frustration and confusion seemed to amuse him, and he didn't immediately offer an explanation. Instead, he allowed the tension to linger, waiting to see how Yoruichi would react to his silence. "You got anything else to add Kiddo?"
Yuuji's laughter echoed in the empty rooftop as he thoroughly enjoyed Yoruichi's perplexed and twitching expression. When she attempted to kick him, her foot passed right through him, and he continued to laugh.
"Did you forget I'm not even here, I'm just a figment of your imagination," he finally said, his amusement evident in his voice. "I'm not truly even a physical being..."
"Oh, shut up. It's not like I truly wanted this to happen in the first place," Yoruichi retorted, her frustration evident in her tone. "How else am I supposed to get info and a good job—"
Yuuji interrupted her train of thought, his tone and demeanor becoming serious as he suggested, "You could have taken up stealing or something..."
Yoruichi hesitated at the suggestion. While she knew she had the physical skills to pull off such activities, it went against her principles and who she truly was. The idea of resorting to theft didn't sit well with her, even in her current situation.
"Sure, whatever, Yuuji," Yoruichi replied, her tone indicating her dismissal of the suggestion. "But that doesn't mean I'll actually take your advice. Now leave, back to the Inner World. I have another lesson waiting for me, and I don't want to be late for them."
With that, she signaled that the conversation was over, and Yuuji gradually faded away, leaving Yoruichi to return her focus to her responsibilities at the school.

As Yoruichi stood watch, making sure students didn't loiter outside after the school day had ended, her attention was drawn to Issei, who was engaged in conversation with a blonde-haired girl. She recognized the girl as Asia, a student from the same class as Issei. Yoruichi couldn't help but wonder about the nature of their conversation and what Issei might be up to at that moment. However she wasn't allowed to leave due to..you know who is watching her every movement.
As Yoruichi made her way to Souna's office to inform her that she was going out to explore the surroundings of Kuoh, she was intercepted by Asahi. The red-haired student greeted her, "Shihouin-sensei... we meet again."
Yoruichi responded with annoyance in her tone, "Ugh, what do you want? Come to give a speech about being early?" She didn't have the patience to engage in a conversation with an annoying student who might want to argue about something they disagreed with. It felt..familiar like she was experiencing an event that already happened..Renji.
What stood before Yoruichi was a man who bore a striking resemblance to Renji Abarai. He had the same long crimson hair. Asahi's appearance strongly reminded Yoruichi of Renji, and for a moment, the two images overlapped in her mind, rendering her momentarily silent as she processed the uncanny resemblance.
Asahi was left perplexed by Yoruichi's behavior, wondering why she had simply walked past him as if he didn't exist. Curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to follow her as she stormed up the stairs to the same level as President Souna's office. Yoruichi was aware of his presence but didn't pay much attention, as her main goal was to seek permission to explore Kuoh, not engage with a student. So, Asahi quietly trailed her to the office, intent on finding out why she was heading there.
Yoruichi swung open the office door, revealing Souna seated behind her desk, engrossed in paperwork. Souna paused her work upon seeing Yoruichi enter and greeted her, "Ah, Yoruichi-sensei, to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit to my office?"
Yoruichi replied, "Souna-san, I've come to request permission to excuse myself from the school grounds. I'd like to explore Kuoh, and it would be much more convenient if I familiarize myself with the area rather than wandering around aimlessly." She hoped her request would be granted, allowing her some freedom to explore her new surroundings.
Souna agreed to Yoruichi's request with a few conditions: Yoruichi was to return by 6 PM and stay within the boundaries of Kuoh's area. Yoruichi nodded in agreement before leaving the office. She couldn't help but notice that Asahi had disappeared from her senses, which struck her as somewhat odd. She couldn't deny that he was strange in his own way but..something definitely felt wrong about the boy.
Meanwhile..
Asahi found himself alone in an abandoned storage unit, surrounded by a sense of loneliness. His distinctive red hair made him stand out conspicuously. Suddenly, the voice of an elderly man broke the silence, addressing him by name.
"Asahi, you know you're not allowed to snoop around after school," the elderly man chided. "I told you to come back home when your classes are finished. So, what were you doing?"
"Forgive me, Ojiisan," Asahi began, "I was talking to a new teacher at school. I was upset about today's embarrassment during P.E. class." His voice carried a hint of disappointment as he explained the reason for his actions to his grandfather.
His grandfather let out a sigh as he patted Asahi's back and proceeded to offer some guidance, "Listen here, boy. I may be old and decaying, but I can still tell when my grandson feels ashamed. It's not wrong to feel that way, but I don't recommend seeking solace in this place. After all, Lord Hitochi wouldn't like to see their student sad."
Lord Hitochi, Asahi's sensei, was more than just a teacher to him; he was like a father and a great friend. Months had passed since their last encounter, and much had changed since then. Lord Hitochi had experienced the tragic loss of his wife and son, a heart-wrenching event that had left a profound impact on him.
Hitochi was a remarkable individual, gifted with attributes that surpassed those of a regular human in both body and mind. He was known for his grace, courage, and a fearlessness that seemed to extend to everyone and everything except himself and his latent abilities. Despite his extraordinary qualities, they had not been enough to save the people he loved most in the world.
In the wake of his family's tragedy, Lord Hitochi withdrew from the outside world, abandoning his role as a teacher and mentor to his students. He no longer conducted training sessions, and his once-vibrant dojo fell into disuse. Grief consumed him, and he turned to alcohol as a means of coping with his overwhelming sorrow.
As the days turned into months, Hitochi's drinking habits grew more pronounced, and his life became marked by depression. His isolation from others was complete, and even his closest friends and students avoided visiting him, fearing the unpredictable bouts of drunken madness and rage that had become all too common in his life. The once-thriving dojo now stood as a stark and somber testament to his suffering.
Asahi discreetly retrieved a cigarette from his back pocket, keeping it hidden from view. He ignited the rolled tobacco stick with a flicker of flame and took a deep drag. The ember at the tip burned brightly for a moment before dimming as he removed it from his mouth, exhaling a puff of smoke into the air. However, the act of smoking didn't bring him the solace he sought. Instead, it exacerbated the discomfort in his scarred lungs, leading to a fit of violent coughing.
Deep down, Asahi couldn't help but resent himself for the way he chose to cope with his depression—smoking away his pain as if it could erase the past and make everything better.
Asahi found himself alone once more, his grandfather having left him to contemplate his thoughts in solitude. He felt the weight of his loneliness bearing down on him, with no friends, no parents, and little will to continue living in the world.
However, a flicker of something different crossed his mind—the memory of the event that had transpired earlier that day. Yoruichi, the new teacher, had made a joke at his expense. Surprisingly, this recollection brought a small smile to Asahi's face, a glimmer of amusement in the midst of his despair. Perhaps there was still something worth living for, even in this world where he felt so disconnected.
A chuckle escaped Asahi's lips as he contemplated the unexpected turn of events caused by Yoruichi. He pushed himself up from the ground, determined to move forward, and slid open the door to his grandfather's absence. Calling out to his grandfather yielded no response, and Asahi sighed in frustration before closing the door behind him. It was time to face the world outside once more.
Kuoh centre..
As Yoruichi explored Kuoh Town, she visited various popular spots and locations, including a mall, a large park near the academy, and even a church. However, the church caught her attention for an unusual reason. She could sense that it had been the site of a battle between fallen angels and devils, and the scents were unmistakably tied to individuals she recognized, like Issei Hyoudou and Asia.
Yoruichi's curiosity was piqued, but she chose to withhold her investigation for now, not wanting to draw unnecessary attention to herself. She continued her exploration of Kuoh Town, pondering the significance of the battle she had sensed.
Yuuji chuckled softly before responding to Yoruichi, his voice carrying a hint of amusement, "Relax, Kiddo. I've been keeping us on a low profile thanks to my suppression, so don't worry too much."
"Indeed," Yoruichi began, her voice tinged with a hint of frustration. "But I must emphasize that our presence here won't remain concealed for an extended period. The events surrounding the rift have undoubtedly attracted unwanted attention, and it's only a matter of time before someone becomes aware of our presence and investigates—"
Her words were abruptly silenced by the abrupt emergence of a sinister smog, shrouding the vicinity near the academy. It was as if her concerns had manifested right before her eyes.
"You spoke prematurely, Lady Shihouin," her Zanpakuto scoffed. Yoruichi clicked her tongue in response, her tone dripping with cocky assurance. "Really, huh? Just keep your mouth closed until you can be of assistance. Yuuji, we'll have a conversation about this later."
As soon as she and Yuuji disappeared back into the Inner World, Yoruichi made a swift dash for the Academy. However, her path was abruptly obstructed by a colossal blaze of blue flames hurtling towards her. With a rapid Shunpo, she managed to narrowly evade the approaching inferno. What materialized before her was a man adorned in a resplendent yellow and white robe, the sleeves bearing an image of a butterfly being pierced through its center by a dagger. At his side, a sizable naginata leaned, displaying signs of the scorching heat that had once coursed through its metal.
"Oh, what do we have here?" the man exclaimed. "That's quite the speed, Miss Yokai, though I've encountered far greater forces than you. Nevertheless, I cannot permit you to proceed any farther beyond this point!"
He firmly grasped his weapon with both hands and brought it crashing down onto the ground, causing cracks to radiate outward and form a sizable crater. Fortunately, Yoruichi was well-acquainted with this particular maneuver and effortlessly evaded it, not breaking a sweat.
The man, with his naginata in hand, spun it effortlessly in a deadly arc towards Yoruichi's midsection. She responded with an agile twist of her body, narrowly avoiding the blade's deadly reach. Her ebony hair swirled around her as she ducked under the strike, her movements so fluid it was as if she was part of the wind itself.
Yoruichi retaliated with a swift kick, aimed at the man's chest. He deftly sidestepped, only for his side to be kicked by the quick force of Yoruichi. The ground beneath him trembled as he thrust his naginata forward to slash at Yoruichi, creating a wave of searing heat in its wake. Yoruichi leaped into the air, her lithe form soaring gracefully above the fiery onslaught.
Descending with unparalleled elegance, Yoruichi landed behind her opponent, her hand already gripping a concealed dagger. She moved with blinding speed, aiming for a precise strike at the man's exposed back. However, he whirled around, his robe billowing like a tempest, and blocked her attack with the shaft of his naginata.
Their clash continued with breathtaking speed and precision. Yoruichi's strikes were lightning-quick, each one aimed at a vulnerable spot, but the man's defense was unyielding. His naginata moved with the finesse of a master, parrying every attack with a combination of skill and raw power.
Sparks flew as their weapons clashed, the clash of metal ringing through the air. Yoruichi's movements were a mesmerizing blur of calculated strikes and acrobatic dodges, while the man countered with a relentless barrage of strikes and swings of his naginata, each one infused with the residual heat from his earlier attack.
The battle raged on, a dazzling display of martial prowess and strategy. Yoruichi's cunning and agility were pitted against the man's sheer strength and control over fire. The two combatants seemed evenly matched, their skills pushing each other to the limits in a deadly dance of blades and flames. Yoruichi sweated at the astonishment of the man, but she felt like she was holding back. She truly wasn't going at her normal pace, but why is the thing that puzzled her.
Yoruichi listened to Yuuji's warning about the consequences of engaging in battle prematurely. She knew she hadn't fully recovered from her grueling encounter with Askin, but her determination and strength surged within her. With each graceful dodge and calculated move, she matched the mysterious man's relentless onslaught.
Evading yet another challenging slash from her opponent, Yoruichi made her decisive move. She discarded the dagger into the ground, her voice filled with unwavering confidence. "Okay then, You're up... Strike the ground, Raiden no Ikazuchi!"
As if heeding her command, the dagger swiftly returned to its place. In its wake, a pair of tonfas materialized, their sleek, black surfaces adorned with intricate golden lightning motifs that traced along their length. The moment they activated, an electrifying energy surged through them, casting a pulsating blue aura around Yoruichi.
With these newly transformed tonfas in hand, Yoruichi felt a surge of power coursing through her. They were the perfect choice for her unique combat style, granting her the means to channel and discharge her formidable lightning-based attacks. As the sparks danced around her, she stood ready to face her adversary with renewed determination and a weapon worthy of her strength.
The man, undeterred by the transformation of her Zanpakuto, launched another fierce assault. His naginata whirled through the air like a cyclone of flames, aiming to overwhelm Yoruichi with its relentless power. But she was no longer the same as before.
Yoruichi's movements became a dance of lightning and shadows, her tonfas a blur of motion as they deflected the fiery strikes. Each parry sent sparks flying, illuminating the battlefield like a stormy night. She countered with her own lightning-infused attacks, strikes that crackled with raw energy and precision.
The clash between Yoruichi and her opponent intensified. She demonstrated her newfound strength, using the tonfas to not only defend but to strike back with dazzling speed and power. Bolts of electricity lashed out from her weapons, creating a dazzling display of sparks and arcs of lightning.
The mysterious man found himself pushed to the limit as Yoruichi's lightning-enhanced strikes grew more and more relentless. With a calculated maneuver, she closed the distance between them in an instant, delivering a devastating blow that sent him hurtling backward.
As he struggled to regain his footing, Yoruichi didn't relent. She followed up with a barrage of lightning attacks, culminating in a final, electrifying strike that enveloped her opponent in a blinding surge of energy. The battlefield crackled with the aftermath of her lightning assault.
Breathing heavily, Yoruichi stood triumphant, her tonfas still crackling with residual energy. The mysterious man lay defeated, his strength no match for her newfound mastery of Raiden no Ikazuchi. It was a testament to her resilience and determination, a warrior who had risen to the challenge and emerged victorious. Or so she thought.
As Yoruichi stood there, victorious and catching her breath, a low chuckle emanated from the defeated man's lips. His body, seemingly broken and battered, began to shimmer with an eerie, fiery aura. The surrounding air grew charged with tension, and the ground quivered beneath their feet.
With a sudden burst of fiery energy, the man rose to his feet, his wounds healing before Yoruichi's eyes. His eyes gleamed with an unsettling crimson light as he revealed his true power.
Yoruichi's heart sank as she realized that her opponent was far from defeated. The battle was far from over, and a new, more challenging phase of the fight was about to begin.
The man's eerie laughter echoed through the battlefield as he taunted Yoruichi. His voice dripped with a sinister amusement that sent shivers down her spine.
"Hahahahahaa! What an exhilarating performance you put on! It seems I underestimated your power, Yokai. That deserves to be challenged by my full release!"
Yoruichi tightened her grip on her lightning-charged tonfas, her resolve unshaken despite the looming threat. She knew that the true test of her abilities was yet to come, as her opponent prepared to unleash his most formidable form. The battlefield crackled with anticipation as the two warriors readied themselves for the climax of their intense battle.
With a sinister grin, the man raised his arms, and the ground beneath him trembled. His body started to undergo a transformation that left Yoruichi awestruck and apprehensive. The air filled with an otherworldly energy, and an ancient, sacred aura seemed to envelop him.
As Yoruichi watched in astonishment, the man's form shifted and contorted. Horns sprouted from his forehead, curving back like those of a dragon, and his skin took on a bronze hue with scales that glistened in the sunlight. His eyes retained their fiery crimson glow, and his limbs elongated into powerful, clawed appendages. A sinuous tail, adorned with scales, snaked behind him.
The man's transformation left him with dragon-like features, imbuing him with an aura of ancient power and majesty.
Astonishment rippled through the battlefield as another figure, cloaked in a robe similar to that of the man, descended with tremendous force. With a swift and precise blow, this newcomer knocked the half-transformed man unconscious, halting his draconic metamorphosis.
Yoruichi's eyes widened as she tried to make sense of the situation. Two mysterious individuals, both shrouded in robes reminiscent of each other, had intervened in the battle. It was clear that something much larger was at play.
Yoruichi's guard remained high, but the newcomer's softer tone and the hint of an apology gave her pause.
"Sorry about that, He can get a bit out of hand... However, what is a Yokai like you doing in a devil's territory, quite far from Kyoto, aren't you?" The stranger's voice remained calm and soothing, as though he were trying to diffuse the tension in the air.
Yoruichi, still holding her lightning-charged tonfas, considered her response carefully. The question was valid, and she could sense that this man might have valuable information.
"I have my reasons for being here," she replied cautiously, "and I'm not one to back down from a fight. But if you have information about what's happening, I'm willing to listen."
"Hmph, I don't have anything interesting to share, so less that you were sensing an argument between two devils.. I would prefer you to stay out of their Wedding business. If you don't comply with this, we will come after you again.. prepared or not."
"Yes, I understand." Yoruichi sighed before realising she needed to be back in 20 minutes. She ran off as the tonfas disappeared from her grasp into dust.
"What an intriguing woman she is," the cloaked figure remarked, his tone laced with fascination. He then turned his attention to the other cloaked individual, addressing him as "brother."
"As for you, my dear brother, Mother will certainly reprimand you for your recklessness. You were tasked with dealing with her before she could interfere in that encounter between those two. We must ensure that the timeline remains undisturbed. Your actions went too far, treating it as if it were mere amusement."
"As for you, Shihouin Yoruichi," the cloaked figure began, his voice carrying an air of anticipation, "I anticipate encountering you once more, perhaps in the distant future."
Well Well, that was quite the twist. An unexpected force seems to be roaming amongst the universe of DxD. Just who were those, and why did they stop Yoruichi from interfering between Rias and Riser? We will just have to see!
Wassup. Sorry for not posting for some time, had some issues and I was on break for three weeks. I do wanna say that the next chapter will be a timeskip. I disregarded the whole school thing for something a little more original. So I hope you guys will like the new changes.
Farewell for now until the next chapter's release!
