Carissa instantly knew that something was wrong when she saw Spock. He was staring at a blank file on his work PADD, which was odd for him. Usually, he was typing like a champion. She placed a hand on his shoulder, giving it a squeeze.

"Are you alright?"

"Yes, I am"

"Then what's wrong? What does cause you the headache?"

"You are mistaken, I do not have a headache"

"No, I meant what are you mulling over" she pointed at the PADD while her other hand started stroking his shoulder. For a while, he was quiet then looked at her.

"Did you not visit a scriptwriting course during your summer vacation before your last year in High School?"

"Yes, I did. I also did a visual art and a story writing one. Why are you asking?"

"I was asked to conceive a rough outline for an introduction video Starfleet is planning to make about the new Enterprise. It shall be used to recruit new members"

"Oh" she sat down "Is there anything you need to include? How long shall it be?"

"The particulars have not undergone much discussion. I solely know that it shall enable the viewer to learn more about the ship and Starfleet"

"Hm okay. And I don't think it should be a documentation either?"

"No, I do not believe so"

"Okay… as for the lengths… I think anything below four minutes should be fine" she got up again and retrieved her private PADD as well as a stylus "Do you have a stylus too?" he answered in the negative what kind of surprised her. There just were things she preferred to do with a stylus rather than her fingers. So she gave a nod and got her Starfleet issue stylus which she handed to him "I know you might think that won't be necessary but sometimes it is important for story, to just doodle a bit. Anything that has to do with the topic" she nodded at him to motion him to go on and then started scribbling down a poorly shaped ship that looked like the Enterprise and also the Starfleet logo. When she threw a glance to Spock she saw that he looked fully concentrated on his drawing and instead of actually scribbling he seemed to try his best to make a technical drawing of their ship. She had to admit it was amazing and she didn't have the heart to tell him it wasn't supposed to be accurate, just quick. Meanwhile, she started to draw Yorktown and tried to draw something that looked like space. She found that a good starting point and circled it, opening a new page and copied her universe into it. "Infinity" she muttered, and started writing some words that could be spoken during the opening scene "Explore the infinity of space…. Mystery… unknown." Again she doodled an Enterprise "May I present you the Enterprise-A. No…. Meet the Enterprise… An enterprising adventure… accompany us on the Enterprise and her adventures? Yeah that sounds okay. But how do we get onto the ship? A shuttle landing? Or no, transporter…. They beam the people with the camera aboard… 'Welcome, Captain' Yes, we make the viewer the Captain… and we need a tour through the ship. Maybe he drops by in engineering or so for a status?" again she changed the page and made a list with places that should be shown.

"Ma-ma" she then heard Erik shout from the other end of the room

"What is it?"

"Done" he exclaimed and held up his 4x4 sliding puzzle with the picture of a cartoon dog.

"You did it again?"

"Yeees" she smiled

"That's great. Do you want me to shift it again?"

"Uh-huh" he put the toy in his mouth and started crawling towards her. Although he could already walk a little, he still preferred to crawl after he had lost balance and split his chin open once while walking. Spock had already contacted a doctor about it. The fact that he was crawling again, not just his injury. But Carissa found it was okay if he wanted to crawl. At least he still was trying to walk when someone helped guide him. Erik arrived at her chair and used it to push himself onto his legs before handing her the puzzle and she started pushing the single blocks into a random order so that he could do it again. When she handed it back to him he let out a squeal and tried to solve it right beside her.

"So uhm… what do you have so far?" she asked Spock who showed her his drawing of the Enterprise "Wow that is really good" she said "You got any idea for the plot?"

"No, however, I approve of your idea to open the video with a scene in space which slowly brings the ship into the picture"

"Okay. Then what? A shuttle landing in the Enterprise or that they kind of transport the camera team aboard?"

"I opt for the transporter"

"Good. I just don't know how we could make it plausible that they will need to walk a tour through the ship. Especially if the viewer is the captain. Unless we make it just a 'Welcome aboard, Sir'. No that could discourage females… Captain is better. Anyways, we need a reason for him or her to tour the ship…." She started biting the top of her stylus slightly

"I would advise against this, seeing it will ruin both the stylus and your teeth" she chuckled

"Sorry, old habits. I've always done that. Okay back to the matter. I think we can send him to engineering maybe because they have a problem? And they can't start just yet that's why he decided to make a tour like 'In that case I can show you around a little'. And while he walks he can give some facts about the Enterprise and Starfleet" she made a note "like he goes to the bridge but with a few detours. What do you think would be interesting? We should include something from all departments. Like the goes and see if the weapons are okay and then he goes to sickbay or a lab"

"I am not certain if it is wise to show sickbay"

"I understand but in the end almost everyone will go there once and it is an important part of the ship. Though I can imagine Leonard's reaction if he's supposed to appear in the film 'I'm a doctor, not an actor, damn it'" she chuckled "Oh or wait. Maybe the Captain got hurt and that's why he has to go to sickbay. Or no, even better, the Captain goes to the weapon by first and then to engineering where an engineer gets hurt. So he has to go to sickbay. He could have gotten an electric shock and then he started talking about energy and power sources and limits of the ship. So in Med Bay they could be treating someone from a lab… and then you follow that person to the lab… but that's only be one lab… maybe they need to visit another lab… and then to another department like the communications lab. And finally, they're somewhere and meet the Captain again and then you follow him to the bridge…. Or maybe another bridge officer, like they meet Uhura in the communications lab and go to the bridge with her, while she talks about species we've made contact with or so? And the Captain, I mean Jim, is already on the bridge by then and they prepare to leave the space dock and like the last words are "Set a course. Maximum warp, destination, infinity. And then you just see the ship from the outside how it warps away… maybe there's someone saying 'You too could be part of those adventures. Apply for Starfleet today and help us explore the galaxy" when she looked up, she only saw how he was busily taking notes

"That sounds more than acceptable. If you allow, I shall present this draft in your name"

"Oh, you don't have to say it's from me…."

"It would be incorrect to claim it have been my ideas"

"I know but…"

"You have helped me and contributed more than me therefore you deserve that I mention it have been your ideas"

"Okay" she gave a shrug, knowing, she couldn't persuade him to do otherwise.

-oO0Oo-

When she didn't hear about the movie for more than two weeks a part of her almost started to believe that Spock had not mentioned her anyway. Although that would be illogical, she found. Maybe they just hadn't discussed it yet or they didn't like the idea. But if she was honest, there was other stuff on her mind right now. Namely, her 10-year High School class reunion that would take place in the middle of June. She was quite looking for it because although she had not actually been friends with most of them, she had still liked a great majority of her classmate and she was happy to see them again. What did confuse her a little was the fact that the person who had organized the meeting (which they would also do per call because not all people could actually be there, just like her) had almost ordered them not to come alone. They needed to take a family member, a friend or a spouse or other partner with them because of a game. She wondered what game it was and whether Spock would actually be willing to play it. She had tried to ask her classmate what it was but he said it was a surprise.

A part of her was quite nervous before the meeting because she knew that not all people had really liked her. She only hoped that they had realized that they had been pricks at the time and would not make fun of her again. Although they stayed in their apartment, Carissa had asked Tisi if she wanted to come over and take care of Erik so that she could enjoy the meeting without interruption.

"You haven't been to a class reunion before, right?"

"No, I have not"

"Well, it can be kinda weird somehow… but it's also fun. Somehow it's good that we're not actually there so in case it turns out to be bad we can just 'leave'" she gave a shrug. With a sigh she started the call and to her surprise, she saw that many of the old classmates were already there. Almost all of them had someone with them, while she had the impression that Gary and Shelia now were a couple.

"Oh hey, it's flower kid. Hey, where's you're flower clip today?" Benjamin shouted, making her roll her eyes.

"I used to have bangs that were quite like yours until I was about fifteen or so… when I started to grow them out, they kept falling in my eyes so Mum bought me that set of flower hair clips which I used to wear almost each day" she explained Spock

"Wow I thought people were joking when I heard you married an alien"

"He looks pretty normal though for a Klingon"

"What?" she almost chocked out "What do you mean with Klingon?"

"There are rumors going around that you've married a Klingon and have one freak of a child"

"I…" she didn't know what to say. How had those rumors spread? Was it because of their visit for Jeremy's funeral?

"Is he really a Vulcan, your husband?" Theresa asked "Nothing bad, I just studied alien species and I find that interesting"

"Oh" she didn't know if she just say yes or tell them he was half human, in fact but then just found herself confirming the question and she took his hand

"Does he feel? Can he smile?"

"Leave him alone, please" she said in a warning tone

"Where did you even find that guy?"

"We met in Starfleet"

"Wait so you actually joined them? I thought you were gonna be a teacher?"

"I didn't want that anymore…"

"What made you change your mind?" she didn't dare to say what her mentor had told her, that her way of teaching was not suitable for kids

"Dunno. I just didn't like it anymore"

"Why did you even give up your Starfleet ambition?"

"I felt like I couldn't do it" in fact, it had been Finn who had almost talked her out of joining the organization. And she probably wouldn't have joined if teaching had been more her thing. She gulped and almost didn't want to think about it.

"And is it true that you have a son? Is he Vulcan too?"

"What's that supposed to mean? Are you asking if Spock is the father?"

"No, just if he's more human or Vulcan"

"Well, he's got Vulcan genetics but I can't say which way of life he'll choose"

"What do you raise him like?"

"Mostly human but Spock started teaching him a few meditation techniques that hopefully get his tantrums under control"

"Oh. Where are you even right now? On a ship?"

"We're on Yorktown"

"What brought you to Virginia? Or do you mean one of the other Yorktown there are?"

"It's actually a Starbase. The most advanced Starbase Starfleet has"

"Ah okay. So you're actually in space?"

"Yeah"

"That sounds amazing. What is it like? What do you do?"

"Guys" Logan, who had organized the meeting said "We all will talk about what our lives are at the moment as soon as everyone's here" he explained "but you definitely owe us a detailed explanation… you kind of were the last person I'd have expected to actually go to Starfleet"

"It kind of surprises me too. At first I didn't believe I could do it but I've changed a lot since then. Besides, it was the best decision I've made" well except maybe for choosing to be with Spock. She glanced at him and pecked his cheek.

"Would you enlighten us on the game you've planned for us, Lo?"

"Not yet" he smirked and seemed to check something on his PADD "First we need to wait for the two missing people"

"How many aren't coming?"

"Three people. At least I didn't hear anything from Daniel"

"Danny boy" Gary snorted with laughter "He's probably still mad about the time we dumped him in the school pond in winter and he had to walk around in unfitting spare clothes the whole day"

"Legendary"

"Hey, remember that time Will and Rudy fought over that last piece of lemon pie from the school canteen and how Kyle just stole it from them?"

"You still owe us that compensation cake you promised, Kyle" Will shouted "But you better make it better than that disgusting replicator thing from the canteen"

"Why did you fight me if it was so disgusting?"

"I first saw it"

"See you two haven't aged" someone else, Helen, had joined them too by now.

"Fine, now we're only missing Harry"

"He's always been late"

"Or maybe he just forgot. Like the day we had off as a compensation and he came to school anyway and was like 'where are you all?'"

"Yes. And how Benjamin wrote him we only had school for the second lesson and at another room"

"Riley actually went there to put notes on the doors to tell him 'no, we're in that room' only to put another note at that door too"

"I think it's been lunchtime 'till he realized we had off today"

"Or on the last day where we just all agreed not to go to Wheeler's lesson because it's been our last with him and he wanted to make lessons as usual…"

"How we took bets on whether Carissa would ruin everything by going to the lesson" she snorted

"As you see I didn't go" she hadn't gone but she had felt very bad all the time during the time and when Wheeler had appeared in their next lesson to shout at them, she had started to cry. Luckily, their English teacher was on their side (and probably couldn't stand Wheeler either) because she had told him to just suck it up because it was their last day and that he probably hadn't even wanted to do a real lesson anyway, whereupon he just left. It had been the last time that she had seen him and it was nice to see him like that, when the whole class was laughing because of him.

"But honestly, what teacher wants to make a real lesson on the last day. Okay, let the people ask questions or have them prepare for the finals, fine by me but not teaching them something that's not even relevant for the finals anymore"

"Sorry I'm late" they heard Harry as he and a man sat down on the two empty chairs.

"Very well. We're at least complete now" Logan said "Okay, I officially greet everyone here, and of course also those who are only virtually here." He rose his glass and most of the people that were actually there did the same. "Ten long years have passed since we've seen each other, at least in some cases and I believe our lives have changed a lot. I've prepared a short survey and will send it to you now. I ask you to complete it so that we can have some statistics about what our lives are now" her PADD announced she had a message and opened the survey file. It asked question concerning her career, her private life like family or interests and what she liked doing. About then minutes later, everyone was done and they had a look at the statistics. It was no surprise to see that about half of them were married. Besides her, two others had children and only seven others had moved out of Colorado. Although Carissa hadn't known what place she should name her home but finally just decided it was Yorktown

"Alright, which one of you fuckers is off planet right now?" Harry almost more or less exclaimed

"That's Carissa"

"What? What the hell are you doing off planet?"

"Starfleet" she replied

"You did it? I thought you said you'd teach children"

"Didn't want to. Felt like I'd waste my potential"

"Wow, what happened to the small, shy bookworm I loved to tease?"

"Grew ten years older and underwent many changes" she replied.

"Well congrats. I wanted to join Starfleet too but they rejected me. Probably was some stupid alien who hates humans"

"Or maybe because you're racist, Severin" she muttered.

"Have you met many aliens?"

"Well yes. It's daily business. I mean, you just pass most of them, maybe greet them on the street"

"And with how many do you actually spend time, like at work?"

"Um I don't really know. I think there are about… 80 non humans serving on the Enterprise, but I don't really know all of them very well"

"Are you friends with any of them?"

"Like have you seen her husband?" Theresa asked

"Can we please just put a stop to that? I moved away, so yes, it's logical I meet new people. If you're that interested in non-humans just go to San Francisco and you'll meet a lot of them"

"Basically any big city is enough" Carissa gave a shrug. She hadn't been to that many cities before.

"Anyways" Logan said "Speaking of big cities… I hope you all remember our graduation trip to Miami?"

"No, no, don't say it" Lilo whined, burying her face in her hands

"I've retrieved all the pictures of the time and I think we should have a look at them. But first…" the picture on her PADD changed and she didn't see her classmates anymore but an old picture of their class "our first day of school" she heard the other's groan and comment on the picture while she was looking for herself and smiled when she found it

"God my hair was short back then" she chuckled and had a look at the others too "Wow some people look like how I've remembered them over the past years. While others look so different now" the picture changed and she saw one of her graduation "Ah yes, that looks more like a Carissa I know" she glanced at her husband "You know, I liked my dress so much that I promised myself I'd use it as a wedding dress if I ever got married. But it's okay, I didn't need more than what we had" she assured him. Now the pictures of their graduation journey came on and she heard how Logan promised he'd also send them all the photos. For almost twenty minutes, the slideshow went on, of course with many comments to some of the pictures, especially the embarrassing ones. It was good that she wasn't on most of them because for example she hadn't joined the group that thought it was necessary to find out who was the bravest by staying in a river that was full of alligators and see who'd be the first one to puss out and leave the water. Or how Ellen and Peter had been caught making out one night. Finally, the photos were gone and the people that were on-site got their food.

"Well, enjoy your meal" Carissa gave a nod and looked at Spock

"Shall I get us something too?" he agreed and when she returned with two places from the replicator she looked at him "Sorry for 'dragging' you there. There's not much you can actually do. I mean, if we were there, you could talk to them but like that it's a bit difficult. If it annoys you, you can also leave

"I believe you have told me that you have been asked to bring someone with you for an activity?"

"Yes but I can also ask Tisi if you prefer" she pecked his cheek "I don't want to make you uncomfortable. They can be like a bunch of kids. Just that you know, I don't approve of all their ideas they've had and I didn't join them for all the shit they did"

"I am aware of this" while they ate, they occasionally talked to some of the others but unfortunately, the topic was quite often going back to her career in Starfleet or her husband. Luckily, now Spock also was talking to them sometimes. After most were done with eating, Logan said they'd get something else and shortly after, she heard that she had received another message on her PADD.

"Some of you might remember how we wrote our future-selves a letter? Our class teacher has agreed to send them us today, about ten years later"

"Oh dear" Carissa said, swallowing as she opened her letter

"Hi Carissa
This is yourself, Carissa but from 2254. I'm 18 years old and in my last year of High School. It's our second last week before the finals. I hope, I can pass with a total of 80%. In August, I will start my internship in kindergarten because I want to become a teacher. I'm looking forward to it, because one of the teachers will be my own kindergarten teacher" she stopped reading aloud and glanced to her husband

"God, why did I write with that many smileys back then? Okay, here we go again"

"I once considered going to Starfleet but Finn might be right by saying I couldn't do it. You wonder who Finn is? My ex. I wanted to be together with him for ages but he is an asshole. A part of me hopes you don't remember what he did, so I won't tell you. Just know it was bad and he is an asshole. (I already said that, I know). For that reason I somehow don't want to be in a new relationship right now. I hope that with the internship I will get more self-conscious. Maybe then I'm ready for a new relationship. Because I've always hoped that in ten years I will be married. And maybe have kids"

"Well mini-me, good news, your wishes did happen" she read the rest of the letter that talked about her interests, her favorite books, movies and music. She also mentioned which classes she liked and which not. "Aww look, I wished myself a good life" she stroked over the screen of her PADD "Well, I can tell you that your life took a turn for the better. Joining Starfleet was right… you shouldn't have listened to Finn. Although… if I hadn't waited another year I might not have been bullied by Oliver and co, meaning I'd have never gotten to know you better" she looked at Spock, squeezing his hand

"Hey uh, quick question" Gabriel asked "Can I travel back in time to kick my little one's ass?"

"No. Time travel isn't possible and god knows what happens when you meet yourself from another time. It could destroy the whole universe"

"Definitely" Carissa muttered with a smirk "They have no idea"

"But isn't that guy who founded the new Vulcan planet from the future?"

"Oh right. Must suck. You travel back in time to save your own planet and fail"

"As I said" Carissa chuckled "no idea"

"Well he did manage to save earth for all I know"

"Literally no inkling. Part of me wants to tell the truth but then we'd be bombarded with questions"

"Hey, Carissa, weren't you in San Francisco at the time this attack on Earth happened?"

"No"

"Did you meet that time-travel guy?"

"Yes"

"So did he really time travel?"

"Yes"

"Wait were you there, in space when Vulcan was destroyed?"

"Yes, I was there. But I don't want to talk about it"

"Because of your husband?"

"Among other. Besides, the guy who did it was crazy as hell"

"Sounds like you" she rolled her eyes.

"Okay I have a question. Who of you could fulfill your younger selves wishes? Or some of them?" as it seemed, most of them could and for a while they talked about their letters.

"Alright, I don't want to stop your chatter but I've got a question… you surely all remember that I asked you to bring someone with you"

"Yeah and I'd like to know why"

"The thing is, it would work if you're alone but them some of you could be at disadvantage if you're alone…"

"And what is it?"

"Before I tell you, you should know it will take about half an hour to an hour do to it. Shall we have dessert first?"

"No. Bring it on"

"Alright…." Logan smirked "People tend to say you forget most of the stuff you learned. I want to test that and have put together a test that contains actual tasks from our finals in each subject…"

"You want us to complete a test?"

"Yes I do. They will be corrected and I'll send you the results. By the way, the challenge is to crack Carissa's 87%" Carissa looked at Spock. Well she had a feeling she could actually break that record anyway with his help. A part of her started to feel bad that she'd be so good with his help and she almost considered asking Tisi instead. Spock seemed to notice she was not too sure and asked what it was.

"You do not need to feel remorse for being better"

"I know but… I mean I probably won't know most of the stuff anymore but you do. So it'll basically be you doing that whole thing"

"If you wish we can divide the work and each of us will solve all questions concerning the courses we are assigned to?"

"Sounds good. But I want to at least try everything first. Because I might know something after trying out a bit. But I think you can definitely do math and physics" she chuckled "Maybe also music. I surely want to do biology and English" he gave a nod.

"Good do you want to do it now or later, after dessert?"

"Let's get this over with. Send us those documents"

"Okay, as you want. But I warn you, some parts will need to be an essay…" half a minute later she got the document and shared it with her husband "Okay, you have one hour, starting now" Carissa quickly looked through the topics and subjects, and swallowed over some, while she found others quite easy.

"Alright, let's check this out… Arts: determine what art style the pictures are and why. Should be easy. Biology: cellular structure, genetics and instinctive behavior. Pff, that's like everyday stuff. Chemistry: Atomic models uh… molecular formulas and acids and bases. Hm you might need to help me there a bit… English: a comparison between this summary of 'the Book thief' and the 'The Three Deaths' according to Spanish culture. O dear that'll be one of the essays… Geography: draw the five longest rivers of the American continent and name all European countries and capitals. Hm okay. History: An essay about the four industrial revolutions… oh that were industrial, electrical, digital and galactic, right? Also talk about the Second World War in relation to the book thief. Dear I definitely need to mention Germany and all the shit that happened there. Maths… some equations, geometry, calculating areas. Hm I should be able to that. Hey, probabilities, that's definitely for you! Although I'd like to try that first too…"

"Carissa, you are allowed to try everything if you wish"

"Good. You can do the same. Just don't correct my stuff. That would be quite unfair. But I might have to ask you stuff" she laughed "Alright, Music. Ah we'll have to listen to music and say what instruments we hear. And oh determine if those triads are minor or major just by reading the music sheets. Dear, I had problems doing that while listening… might be something for you in that case. Good, physics…" she groaned "God, I don't even know what that stuff is… Dynamic or stuff like that maybe? Oh and the second part looks like it's about energy, power and that stuff" she looked at Spock "I don't even remember doing that in school…. The only thing I remember from physics is where we needed to calculate the mass of a planet and I got something like 15 kilograms. Anyways… Philosophy… just one task "name the major subfields of philosophy and elaborate one of your choice. Oh God… what are even the subfields? I only remember logic… with stuff like conclusions and all. All cats die. My pet is a cat. My pet will die. Or the conjunction where you say stuff like 'I am 28 years old and y name is Carissa' So both parts of the sentence need to be true that the sentence is true… anyways, that's something you could to that too. She pecked his cheek. Okay, here we go, the electives. Ethnology, there that was mine. Though I'd have liked to do psychology too. Okay, what's the Ethnology question? In the beginning of the 21st century 'western cultures' have believed to be the most advanced cultures. Illustrate how view that might have changed due to the galactic revolution. Oh man I just love when it's all coming together and there's a link between all the classes." she looked at him "So we say you do Maths, Music, Physics and Philosophy and I start with biology and English and history and maybe ethnology because that's kinda linked together. We can also do Chemistry and Geography together"

"That sounds acceptable" he gave a nod and seemed to get working on the Maths part instantly. In the meantime, she started with English and the essay.

"Alright, the Book Thief played in Nazi Germany and is narrated by death and he met Liesel three times before she died herself and he connected colors to it… the first time her brother died. The second time... ugh was that a soldier that died or something and the third time when their street was bombed. And the three Spanish deaths are what again? Right here it says when the body fails, when you're buried and the time someone speaks your name for the last time. When her brother died they buried him and Liesel stole the gravedigger's book. That connects to the burial thing. And the name being spoken the last time kind of connects to the fact that almost everyone Liesel known has died the third time. But also kind of has to do with Max and needed to keep him a secret because he was a Jew... oh God, I wanted them to come together so badly… Oh I just remember my English teacher saying 'always provide other examples, not just the given ones…' So I need more stories and tales that have to do with death or real life examples. You reckon I should write that it's possible to cheat death? Fuck it, I do that, after all I survived it once. And the Book Thief also dealt with you know the persecution of Jews. That could kind of connect to the Crusades and when they started to colonize the world. Do you think I could also mention the destruction of Vulcan? Now I'd love to read that essay I wrote back then, just to compare them. I guess that's something I should ask. Maybe Logan also has those old tests. He's now teacher at the High School" she glanced at her husband "Sorry for talking to myself" she chuckled "Not that you can't focus"

"I am able to concentrate despite your talking" she saw that he was already doing the physics tasks now and she decided to speed it up a little.

-oO0Oo-

When she was done with her parts, she tried to do the parts Spock had made and found she was still pretty good at the equations and she even could solve one of the physic exercises. But one thing was for certain, she definitely had to visit a seminar to deepen her knowledge in the subject before they continued the journey. Then the one hour was over and Logan said he'd run them through a quick evaluation program to at least give them a rough feedback for the math exercises and most of the ones that either were right or wrong.

"Who's leading?" Jennifer asked

"Just give the program a minute…" Logan sighed then, displayed the results. Two were over 90% correct, most were between 75% and 90% and a few were 65% but less than 75% and five had an insufficient score. The worst was 37%

"Wow, who scored that 98?"

"I bet it was Carissa"

"Yeah" Logan confirmed "congrats. Let's see if the rest can keep up with that too"

"And who was the worst?"

"That surely was me" John groaned

"No, as a matter of fact it was Chris"

"Yay"

"But honestly, Carissa, how did you do that?"

"To be honest… my husband did most of that"

"But that's not fair. He's a Vulcan. Of course he's better. Her results should not be counted"

"Shut up, she couldn't know what I planned to do. Something even tells me, she wouldn't have needed him to make an excellent score"

"But what did you write for that English essay? I don't even remember that book"

"I only remember most of the girls crying at the end of it"

"Exactly. It's just a book. Or their discussions about how she married that guy from their basement, the Jew"

"She definitely did!" Paula insisted "they were made for each other. And I still stand to that"

"Oh God you just like claimed there were hidden loves in all the books we had to read or the movies we watched…"

"Well, there were. At least in most of them. Don't judge me for being someone who believes in true love"

"You tore apart couples that were officially established in the story to pair one character with a side character"

"Well, if they're obviously so much better for each other!" Carissa chuckled. She kinda could understand what she meant. There were so many couples in literature or movies she had disliked because she found there were better partners for them.

Once the class reunion was over, Carissa couldn't help but look through her old school stuff, exercises and books and all. She had also decided that she wanted to read 'The Book Thief' again and also advised Spock to do so, who, to her surprise, said he would give it a try.

About a week later, she got the result from the repetition test they had done at the class reunion and felt proud about her 93%, of course again the best. Yet she knew that she only was so good because of Spock who had done the parts she wasn't very good in and just excelled in them. Her classmates had even ended in asking him all kind of random things and giving him some super difficult calculations to do. Gary had joked that Carissa could be lucky to have a walking library and calculator at her side.

Another two weeks later, Spock asked her to meet him at Starfleet Headquarters because they wanted to discuss the video more. As it seemed, the producers were fascinated by her idea and had made some improvements to the text and the order in which the viewer will see the different parts of the ship. They had managed to include more departments but she swallowed when she heard that she too would appear in the movie. She had thought that only actors would do that. But she had been told that actors couldn't fly a starship or run a Med Bay or whatever, so they needed real people that had experience. Of course, there would be some actors in the background, but all the people that would actually talk (for a longer time, at least) would be crewmembers of the Enterprise. Carissa made a note to ask her subordinates if they were willing to appear in the movie too or rather not because then they could be replaced by actors. Somehow she had a feeling that most of them would agree but she couldn't say what would be about the two new recruits she and Spock had chosen for the bio lab. A part of her was glad that he had helped her with the interviews and organize the one tryout for the one they hadn't been too sure about. There was, however, one thing she felt bad about. One of the new biologists, had been Head of a lab before and was also a Lieutenant, though older than her. It made her believe she might have to pass her job onto him but she was assured that as long as she was fit and willing for the job as head of the lab, no one else could take it from her even if he had a higher rank and more experience. The funniest thing, about the video, for her was the fact that the producers had insisted that also Spock would play a part in it and she was happy that he'd drop by in the bio lab to collect some reports from her and then would lead the viewer to the bridge.
