I can't say I wasn't impressed by the incidents, especially for a case as strange as this one. There were two possible scenarios: Either Kira was among the Yotsuba members, or they were simply carrying out orders. Especially after Matsuda's rescue, we couldn't easily draw a conclusion. Of course, I always had the suspicion in the back of my mind that Light could be Kira, but new evidence was popping up everywhere. I was confused, not only myself but also my partners. Although L had removed the cameras from the rest of the house, he had kept one in Misa's room.
Speaking of these two lovebirds, three days after the Yotsuba incident something strange happened at Misa's house, and since there were still cameras, we could figure out their relationship. "Well, Misa, there's been much studying for school lately. I can't even take a break. Do you mind if we don't go out for a while? It's not like you'll get hurt or something. You'll continue shooting and modelling as usual."
"I understand what you mean, but—"
"I promise nothing. It's high school, not middle school. In other words, we may see each other after two weeks, or so."
"Are you avoiding me, Light or is it just me? Are you planning to be such a workaholic when you start your job? Do you want your children to grow up without a father?"
As it turned out, Misa had... Some future plans and she so abruptly revealed them to Light.
"Chi... Children?! What children?"
"Yours and mine."
"You can't be serious..."
"I dream of this future for us! And children require marriage!"
The boy didn't know what to say. He stared at the floor.
"I can't believe you don't want to! A serious relationship progresses to marriage." said the girl.
"I... Didn't say I don't want to."
"You didn't say the opposite though!"
"No. Give me a few days to think about it."
He got his stuff and was about to leave the room.
"The fact that you leave every time we discuss something serious gets on my nerves! Especially when it has to do with our relationship!"
Some time passed after Light left the actress's house and we saw no movement in the room. We didn't hear anything from the other rooms either, so we assumed she left the house too. At dusk, however, we received an... Unexpected visit. When the photocell door opened, we saw the actress rushing into the computer room.
"He's a bastard! A bastard! I'll go mad next to him!!"
"What's wrong, Misa?" Mogi asked.
"What are you doing here at a time like this?" Matsuda added.
"I'm breaking up, do you understand?! I'm breaking up with him" Light doesn't want marriage and hides it from me!"
"We're not relationship experts if you need some advice," L said.
"You don't understand, Ryuzaki. I'm officially breaking up! You can't trust a man who you propose to and say: "I'll think about it"! It simply means he's immature and only thinks about himself!"
She burst into sobs. "He never really loved me..."
"No, Misa-Misa! Don't say that! You two are a pretty compatible couple! It would be a shame to break up!"
"You're such a terrible actor, Matsuda..." I told him.
"Thank you, Matsuda. But the decision is final. I don't even plan to announce it to him. It won't bother him at all."
"Anyway, you probably don't care about our own issues. I have come to tell you that I'll do the favour you asked, and reveal Kira's secret. Not that Light is Kira, it just happens to have the information."
"So you admit to being the second Kira!" Matsuda said.
"Yes, I do! I already said I'd tell you who the first Kira is but I thought it would be fairer for him to say it in person. I swear, it's not Light, but someone from work. You don't know them."
"If they're an actor, it could ruin their career if the public figures out," L said. "But tell us who they are, and we'll see what we can do about it."
"I already told you! You don't know them!"
"But anyways, what I do want you to know is that you were right. I am the second Kira. I won't tell you about my colleague, as it's more fair for him to come and reveal his identity himself. But there's a favour I want you to do: Lock me in the cell."
We couldn't tell if she was serious or under the influence of some substance, such as alcohol, so we just stared at her.
"Matsuda, do you know if that young lady drinks wine, or if she consumes alcohol in general? You're a fan of hers, that's why I ask." Mogi asked.
"Well, yeah am a fan, but that doesn't mean I know if she sleeps on her face or back!"
"I asked you about alcohol."
"It is possible she has consumed large quantities, especially after a sexual moment. This probably explains the erratic behaviour." L concluded. "Lock her up in one of the upper rooms, so we can have her under surveillance. Especially now that the case is in a critical state."
The policemen grabbed the girl by the wrists and took her upstairs which were several hotel-like rooms, with the only difference having security cameras and the doors easily locked from the outside. These rooms could be described as prisons, even if they didn't have bars.

After hours, I checked the security camera and what I saw wasn't expected at all. The girl's face was pale, her clothes were torn apart in some spots, blood flew from her left hand with a bloody pair of scissors by her side, and her eyes filled up with tears. I rushed into the room, terrified she attempted suicide.
"Jesus Christ! What are you doing, Misa?!" I shouted.
I saw a muscle twitch and checked her pulse. Fortunately, she was still alive. I looked for some first aid kit the room could have in the lockers.
"Marina... Is that you?"
"Thank God! You're alive!" I said with a shaky voice. Even if she was indeed responsible for some of the murders, I had no right to let her die by harming herself! It wasn't her relationship with Light to be blamed for. Something else was going on!
"Are you out of your mind, Misa? What were you thinking?"
"It's Cupid, Marina. Love is not defeated in battle they say... Have you ever felt the feeling of loving someone and not only they don't notice you but hurting you on top of that?"
"No, but... Why so much blood for a man? Others have loved too but they didn't act like that."
"Those who haven't been hurt don't know what real love means..."
She struggled to stand upright. I took the scissors from her hands and went again to the lockers to find a first aid kit. I tried to put my thoughts in order. That poor girl was in need of help but didn't know how to do it. I'm no expert in relationships or love, but couldn't understand the reason for such extreme behaviour. No one would do that for a relationship that doesn't involve marriage. Apparently, Misa wanted marriage. But it may have been something else, completely different from her relationship with Light! The relationship was a mere excuse.
Luckily I found a box of gauze and started wrapping one of them around her injured arm, after first washing it with water and hydrogen peroxide. I helped her stand up and sit on the couch.
"God bless you, my good girl... Thank you so much for helping..."
"I consider it my duty to help a fellow man even if they're a criminal. But tell me now. What is it that's tormenting you? Open your heart to me."
She sighed deeply. "I'll say everything only once. That's enough lies! You've heard enough from us."
»Well... A year ago, I found my parents and my brother lying on the floor covered in blood. The police found the killer, but the trial was delayed and even said he might be innocent! In the end, Kira came and judged him. I searched for him, and when I finally met Light, I felt more than just gratitude!"
"L was right after all... Say the rest."
"He didn't seem interested in a commitment but told me he could pretend to be in a relationship with me, thus having me as a cover. You know... So that they don't suspect him. But I wanted him to notice me for real at all costs, which never happened."
Then she burst into tears. "And he has something in his expression that reminds me of my brother... I'm not fine!"
She may have been telling me about her relationship with Light, but I suspected verbal or physical violence. What we saw on the security camera may have been nothing compared to the full picture. Well, maybe Light was abusing her verbally, physically or both. The point was no longer to find who Kira was but to capture him as soon as possible. I knew who he was, and sooner or later it would be revealed to others!
Thick tears fall on the floor. I couldn't see her like that. I stroked her hair and hugged her.
When L came to the computer room, I explained to him everything Misa told me. He liked these new facts and even had a premonition that sooner or later, things would change. I completely trusted his instinct!
And so, I decided to have Misa under my protection. To be her friend and to let her confide whatever concerns she had. Thus, the next day, I got up early to make her breakfast. But when I entered the room, the picture I saw was quite different from what I expected.
"Good morning, Misa. I brought you—"
My sentence was cut short when I saw her slumped to the floor. Her skin was pure white and her eyes wide open as if she had seen something terrifying. She wasn't moving at all.
"Misa?"
I approached the body and checked her pulse. She hadn't used sharp objects to commit suicide, but I knew right away she had been murdered, possibly by Light. But why would he want to kill her? Did he want to get her out of the way? And if so, why? What did Misa know that he didn't want to be revealed? There were still some elements which didn't connect with each other.
