Desperation was threatening to paralyze her. Her mind was pleading her to remain unperturbed amidst the trees and the macabre blackness surrounding her. However, Kagome gathered her courage, and as if it were a mask, she wore it in order to be able to move forward. She stood up, noting the silent complain of her tired muscles, and the raw night haze on her exposed skin. All of her effort, went into being strong; she needed to reach him, to find him, wherever he was.
Her steps led her through the pathless, thick forest once again; yet not long did she move, before her attention was drawn to a dry sound of branches, snapping in the distance.
