At UA High School

Midoriya's pov

In the day's after the Sports Festival ended, we recovered from our injuries and our normal classes started right back up again. Well, some things were different. "It's so weird that people recognize us from T.V. Everyone wanted to talk to me on my way here." Mina says. "Yeah, me too." Kirishima says.

After our performance at the Sports Festival, we became a little popular in the public eye. For example, when I was riding the train on the way to school a person recognized me and then everyone started to ask me questions. It was embarrassing, but cool at the same time. However, we were quickly overlooked by the video of Garou facing the heroes. As well as that giant monster.

To say I was scared was an understatement. Luckily, it disappeared before anyone was hurt badly, but on the other hand. Garou has disappeared and know one knows where he is. Many have speculated that he is working for the League, but I know he isn't since he fought them at the USJ. Still, him being free is still a problem.

Just then, Aizawa walks into the class and we all get quiet. "Hm, you all shut up the moment I walked in. Pretty good so far." Aizawa says. One the first day, it took us three seconds to be quiet and Aizawa said for us to improve on that. "Anyway, I was planning some training exercises today, but as you can see we can't do that." Aizawa says, pointing at the window as it is raining right now.

"So today will be easy. Time to pick your hero identities." Aizawa announces as we all cheer. "However, since I'm not great with helping you decide hero names, someone else will help." Aizawa says. "It'll be a while before she arrives, so while we wait you can see the recommendations you got from some heroes." Aizawa says as he clicks a button and a list of our recommendations appears on the board.

Recommendations are when Pro Heroes send out a request for a certain student to join their agency. The agency we chose is up to us. While at the heroes agency, they can take you up as their sidekick so you can learn under them. However, it seems I won't be so lucky.

I look at the board and see that I have no recommendations from any pros. Probably from the way I fought against Todoroki. The ones who had the most are Todoroki and Bakugou, while the others had decent numbers. "In past years it's been more spread out, but there's a pretty big gap this time." Aizawa says. "Holy cow. Todoroki and Bakugou have way more than we do." Kirshima says. "You'll have plenty of time to pick your agency. If you don't like the one you're at, you're free to choose a different agency." Aizawa explains.

A knock suddenly came from the door. "She's here. Before you choose your name, I recommend choosing carefully." Aizawa says, getting in his sleeping bag and going to sleep. "Why do we need to be careful of our names?" Mina asks. "Because you'll have hell to pay later." A voice answers as the door opens. "What you pick could be your code name for life. You better be careful or you'll be stuck with something utterly indecent." Midnight says, revealing herself while wearing some bandages. I'm surprised she's still here after the incident at the forest.

"You're code names are not just so you can have a flashy name, but it must define who you are. So, pick carefully. I will help make the final decision." Midnight explains. She hands us all of our boards and says, "Now get to work and be careful of what you pick." Midnight says. A few minutes go by and I still haven't found any names for myself. Some of the others have already gone, but I'm still deciding. I look over to Uraraka and remember what she told me.

In the past, I was always called Deku, which means I couldn't do anything. However, when Uraraka thinks that if I want to, then I could change it to mean that I could do anything. I think I found my perfect name. I write it down and go to the front of the class to announce it like everyone else had. "When I was first called this name I hated it, but a person showed me that it could mean something different. Deku. The hero who can do anything. That has to be my code name." I announce as Uraraka smiles at me and Kacchan glares at me. "I like it!" Midnight says. Thank god. It's better than Kacchan's. He wanted to be called King Explosion Murder. Way to violent for a hero name.

The last person to go is Iida. However, when he shows his name, it's just his regular name. "Huh? Are you sure you want to use your real name?" Midnight asks. "Yes, ma'am." Iida says somberly. Why is he…Oh right. His brother was attacked by the Hero Killer. He must still be sad about it.

When it's finally lunch time, Uraraka comes over to me. "You saw that too. Right?" Uraraka asks. "Yeah. Let's see if we can talk to him." I suggest as we walk over to Iida. "Hey, Iida, you okay?" I ask. "Huh? Oh yes. I'm fine." Iida says. "You sure? You looked sad earlier." Uraraka says. "I'm fine. It's just…I'm still upset about what happened to Tensya." Iida says. "Yeah, but at least he is still alive." I say.

"Yes. But, he will never be a hero again. All because of Stain." Iida growls as he clenches his fist. "Iida, it'll be okay. Don't your anger make you do something stupid." I say. "…I won't. Thank you. Both of you. For checking up on me." Iida says as he walks away. "Seeing your brother like that. I can't imagine how it feels." Uraraka says. "Me too. But, I'm just hoping he won't do something stupid." I say as we go to lunch.

The next day in a hidden bar in Hosu

Stain's pov

My hunt for Garou led me to a meeting with the League of Villains. An informant of mine said that they supposedly have Garou, so I arranged a meeting with them to try and find answers. They were quite eager for this meeting since I am popular in the villain world. Though I consider myself as a vigilante more than a villain.

I walk through the door and come face to face with two people. One whose body looks like it is made of smoke and wearing a bartenders outfit and the other one looking very young, has dried skin, is wearing black clothing, and is breathing through a respirator. "Ah, welcome Stain." The Smoke Man greets me. "Finally, we meet, Stain." The Man wearing a respirator says. "And who might you two be?" I ask. "My name is Tomura Shigaraki and this is Kurogiri." Shigaraki introduces himself.

"Tomura Shigaraki? Like the one who led a group of villains to attack the USJ?" I ask. "Yes, that's us." Shigaraki says with arrogance. "Now I get it. You are the ones who attacked UA" I say. "And you want to recruit me to build up your little group again." I say, figuring out why they agreed to meet me. "Yeah. It'll be great, you've got so much experience." Shigaraki says.

"And what's your mission?" I ask, trying to find out their goals. "For now? I really just wanna kill All Might. I like to destroy anything that pisses me off. Like Garou." Shigaraki answers. So that's it? He just wants to kill. Garou would never come here. He's clearly not a crazy killer like Shigaraki.

"I was a fool to think you could help me find my target. It turns out, you're the type of person I hate most in this world." I say with anger. Shigaraki looks confused. "The goals of your league are those of a child." I say, unsheathing a couple of blades. "What meaning is there to killing if you don't have real convictions?" I say, preparing for a fight.

"Master, should I step in?" Kurogiri asks a T.V. with the word *Sound Only* on it. "Let it happen. It's possible this is the only way he'll learn anything. He needs to think about the ways he must grow. How he can mature. Only then will he reach his potential." Someone says from the T.V. I don't know who that is, but I've got bigger things to deal with.

Shigaraki charges at me, but I dodge with ease. I then jump on him and stab a blade through his shoulder. Kurogiri attempts to attack me, but I dash at him and cut him. I lick some of his blood on my blade, paralyzing him with my quirk. I then went back to Shigaraki as he tries to get up and I put a blade against the tubing of his respirator.

"So you want me to be a part of your crumbling little league. But you won't accomplish anything if you don't have conviction and desire. Without those, you'll always be an aimless weakling. Achieving nothing. That's how you got here." I say to Shigaraki.

"Hey, now. You're being a little rough aren't you?" Shigaraki asks, begging for his life. "Kurogiri, take this guy back." Shigaraki orders. "I'm sorry. I can't move. It must be the Hero Killer's quirk at work." Kurogiri says. "The word *hero* has lost all meaning in this society. The world is overrun by fakes and criminals like you who chase petty dreams. They must all be purged." I say, pushing the blade against Shigaraki's breathing tube.

Suddenly, Shigaraki grabs my blade. "What do you think you're doing?" Shigaraki asks. "If you touch this tube…I'll kill you." Shigaraki says as my blade begins to rot away suddenly. It must be his quirk. "You sure talk a lot, Hero Killer. Conviction? Maybe I don't have anything as loaded as that." Shigaraki says as my blade turns to dust. "If I had to choose a desire though…Yeah it'd be killing All Might. If this world wants to worship trash like him, I'll destroy their beloved symbol of peace and then crush them while they're in shock." Shigaraki says with a maniacal grin.

He uses his hand to try and touch me next, but I dodge and jump off him. "The last of my injuries was finally about to finish healing, and now this. You should learn not to play with knives. We don't have a healer in our party, you know." Shigaraki says, scratching his neck.

"I see your nature. It seems our goals fundamentally oppose each other. Which means you don't have the person who I am looking for." I say. "And who is this person you're looking for?" Shigaraki asks. "Garou." I said. Shigaraki then looks pissed. "Unlike you, Garou and I have the same motive. We agree that we need to destroy the present." I say.

"So, even you are only interested in Garou." Shigaraki says. "He's all I ever hear about. At the USJ he out shined us. He is all over the news as of late. I should be the talk of the world. It is my destiny to become the Symbol of Evil! Not that Bastard! It's even because of him that I have to use a respirator forever!" Shigaraki yells, scratching his neck hard. "The next time I see him, he will be on his knees begging for mercy as I turn him to dust! Then I can finally reach my destiny!" Shigaraki yells with a maniacal smile.

"Heh, that's not gonna happen. You lack conviction while Garou does not. He has his morals and a goal which he will stop at nothing to achieve. It is that desire that I respect." I said, putting my blades away. "I'm free." Kurogiri says, finally able to move. "Kurogiri. Someone who acts like Garou will be nothing but a problem for my League of Villains." Shigaraki says. "Please reconsider. This man will be a great asset if he joins us." Kurogiri begs. "My business here is done. Now, you will return me to Hosu. There are still several false heroes I must attend to." I said, licking my lips.

In the streets of Hosu in the Afternoon

Tenya Iida's pov

Today, my class and I went to our internships to learn under the Pros. I went to Hosu to learn under Manuel since he is a friend of my brother and I wanted to make sure he is alright from his fight with Garou. However, that's not truly why I'm here. I'm here to find Stain and put him down for good.

After the Sports Festival, my brother, Tensya, was attacked by Stain and paralyzed from the waist down. Because of his injury, he could no longer be a hero. Damn you Stain! Because of you my parents now have to live with guilt that their oldest son can't walk anymore and I have to live with the fact that my brother won't be able to be a hero anymore!

His killing patterns all lead to Hosu. He'll be here somewhere. And when I find him, I'll dispose of him for good.

On a rooftop far away in Hosu

Stain's pov

Kurogiri opens a portal to a rooftop as I walk through with Shigaraki behind. "Huh. Hosu City looks nicer than I expected. So, what are you gonna do?" Shigaraki asks. "I will reform it. In order to do so, blood must be spilled." I answer. "You have a clear goal. Your dedication is admirable." Kurogiri compliments me.

"Ah…Finally, someone who understands." I say, sarcastically. "I get the feeling you enjoy picking on me." Shigaraki says, but I didn't listen. "*Hero* is a title for those who've accomplished great deeds! This city is full of false champions. All they care about is money or fame. Until the world realizes its mistakes, I will continue my work." I say, drawing my sword and leaping off the roof.

Shigaraki's pov

"He talks all high and mighty and stuff, but he's wasting his time focusing on a small stage. He and Garou are so noble I could cry." I say, scratching my neck. "You shouldn't spurn his methods." Kurogiri says. "The reality is in all the cities where Stain and Garou have appeared, the crime rates have fallen. Perhaps because heroes are more conscientious, or perhaps out of fear. Regardless, they both does bring change." Kurogiri says as I scratch my neck harder. The more he talks about Stain and Garou, the more I want to kill them.

"Oh, isn't that just wonderful. Heroes are working harder thanks to all those murders. I guess you could say our Hero Killer is also a Hero Breeder. And the heroes Garou attacked have returned more determined, so I guess both Stain and Garou are Hero Breeders." I say, angry.

"This is getting boring. It won't work." I say, crossing my arms. "We just can't agree on a basic level. And he annoys me." I say. "Kurogiri, bring out the Nomus." I order as Kurogiri brings three Nomu out. You think you can get away with stabbing me? When I get tired of you, I'll kill you. Whenever I feel like it. Just like that, Stain. But let's make it more interesting. How about I crush your honor and your pride first? What do you say, big bad Hero Killer?
