Thirty minutes ago...

Bolton strolled down the corridor toward registration. He was vigilant, looking out for Earl the entire time.

When he approached his classroom, Paul was already waiting outside. Bolton took a deep breath, walking over to him.

Paul eyed him carefully

"Look man, I'm sorry I lashed out at you yesterday" Bolton apologised

Paul shrugged

"It's ok, I deserved it. I did a stupid thing"

"No way, man! You did the right thing, I was the one in the wrong" Bolton insisted

"So...mates?" He added, offering his hand for Paul to shake

Paul nodded, shaking it

"Mates" he confirmed

"Nawwww, ain't that sweet? The girls have unknotted their knickers and made up!" Earl taunted

Bolton, who couldn't bear to look Earl in the eye, started to walk away. He was determined to stay out of trouble.

Paul followed slowly behind him.

"Hey, Bolton? How are those nuts feeling?" Earl asked with a smirk

Bolton kept walking

"Maybe I should have got Denzil to shoot them off instead" he laughed

"Keep walking" Bolton told himself

"BANG!"

Bolton and Paul spun around, their hearts pounding rapidly. Earl had of course made the sound with his mouth, but it still had the desired effect on Paul and Bolton.

The students around them fell about laughing at their reactions. Earl was smirking triumphantly.

Enough was enough.

Bolton strode over to him furiously, grabbing Earl by his shirt collar.

"What's your problem, man?" He growled

Earl laughed, his eyes locking with Bolton's

"You" he spat, grinning wildly

Bolton was fed up of treading on eggshells. The kid was over a year younger than him. Why did he intimidate him so much?

"You want a problem, man? I'll give you a problem!" Bolton threatened

His fist flew into Earl's face, making contact with his bottom lip. Earl stumbled back, but stayed on his feet. He glared at Bolton.

"You really shouldn't have done that, bro" he snarled

Bolton scoffed

"Oh yeah? What you gonna do about it, eh? Shoot me? Bring it on!"

Earl sniggered, yanking Bolton towards him.

"You're not worth the dirt on my shoe" he hissed

Earl threw a punch at Bolton, watching triumphantly as his fist landed in his left eye.

Before anyone could stop them, it had turned into a huge fight. Bolton and Earl were in the centre of the corridor, kicking, punching and scratching at each other, the students cheering them on.
