Undersin: A Tale of Karma

Chapter 1: A Meeting Forever Tied By Fate.

A/N: It has been a while since the last time I uploaded something a lot has happened to me in that time, case and point had a few falling outs with some people and a lot of computer trouble but ya'll aren't here for that so let's move on. Now I'm a be real with you I hate this chapter did not come out the way I wanted it to most likely gonna rewrite it as soon as I can but I wanted to make sure I got it uploaded in time otherwise I'd have to wait for the next October Friday the 13th since that date works so well for this story. Unfortunately, that comes at the cost of uploading another horrible incomplete draft. The silver lining is this shouldn't take as long as the pokémon one I did a while back since this one doesn't need as much background details to be fleshed out. However, as stated above, I have some computer issues, the kind that corrupts all my hard drives even if they're brand fuckin new. Not sure why it's happening but I'm not putting anymore money into this PC lucky, my last hard drive is an SSD so it shouldn't corrupt anytime soon so a chapter one rewriting should only take a month or two. Just don't expect chapter 2 till I get a new PC. Till then enjoy a taster of what I plan for this story. So without further ado, welcome to Undersin or Karmatale whatever your preference.

In the US, along the intersection of the three states of Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin, you can find Mt Ebott. Mt Ebott is one of many strange and mysteries mountains found across the world. One such mystery surrounds the odd disappearances of many who set foot on them and, for those who look, none return. Many people used this knowledge to vanish, and one such person will stumble upon the truth and many other secrets surrounding these mountains.

Autumn winds whistle through the forest atop Mt Ebott, making its canopy flutter about as the movements below remain unsee. The light of midday shuns down on the forest floor below, allowing few glimpses of the commotion below where someone could be seen running with urgency in every step.

This person appeared young, seemingly around the age of 11. They bore a rather androgynes appearance, making deciphering their sex at a mere glance difficult, but they seemed to lean slightly more towards the masculine side of the spectrum. His hair, styled in a messy pageboy cut, complemented the warm-ivory tone of her skin. It had a dark-brown coloration that suited them well, as it took to the shading provided by the canopy above rather nicely.

His eyes were narrow, perfectly hiding the marron color they bore from unwanted attention as they wearyingly scanned the surrounding forest as loud shouts of all manners all around. Her attire, although somewhat suited for the season, was not well-suited for their current situation as he wore a sweater that was primarily Persian blue with two horizontal lines that bore a magenta shade running along the abdominal region of the shirt. A pair of knee length black socks that disappeared into the sleeves of loose comfort fitting dark navy-blue shorts completed with a pair of brown shoes to an unknown brand. While not suited for stealth like their current situation demanded, but it would have to do.

He pushed forward, ducking and weaving through the foliage of Mt Ebott when needed, taking each twist and turn as they came for what felt like hours on end. Her breath soon grew ragged as time wore on and exhaustion set in, slowing their pace yet never easing the urgency in it, only magnifying it.

More and more, it became apparent that running anymore would only speed up what was to come. So, with that in mind, he scanned the surrounding area. After assuring their safety, he looked for a place to hide and catch her breath, while a single thought kept repeating in their head. It was a mistake to come here.

He could not help but let out a relieved sigh as she found some particularly dense brush to hide in. Careful to not leave any traces behind as to not alluded to their hiding spot, he took shallow steps into the brush, calming her breath as they laid low beneath the brush using a bit of dirt to help blend in.

Should have known the truth would have been something like this. She thought bitterly. It would have been too good to be true if this were all just people being whisked away.

A sound of branches snapping broke them from his muse. She stilled her breath as two voices came in range for them to just make out them out. "Damn it! I could have sworn I saw that little shit over here," said one of the two voices, irritation being almost pliable with this one.

The other, in a gruff voice, responded in kind. "It does not matter what you thought you saw. Nothing is here, so we move on and look elsewhere."

There was a growl. "Whatever," the first said dismissively. "So, you excited?"

A grunt. "For what?"

"Come on," the first dragged. "don't be like that, you know what. It's been a while since we had someone new come here too," they snickered. 'Disappear" they mocked.

Hidden in the brush, the young person's heart rate spikes as the weight of their words set in. He fought with every inch of herself to stay calm as the two continued to converse. "Not interested. Plus, we both know the boss gets first pick, anyway."

"Ah, but he doesn't need to know, just got to rough them up a bit. Make sure they become mute for a bit. That way, no one finds out if we had a little fun beforehand."

Their blood froze at those words as he suppressed a shudder that raked through his whole body. "If you're going to do that, then leave me out of it. I want no part in something that will cost me my head." With that, the sound of foot step resumed heading on ahead.

"Wait! What?! Come on, man! Think about it!" the first exclaimed as they gave chase to the second.

A breath, two breaths, three breaths. She waited for what felt like an eternity to make sure they were gone. As time wore on and the sun moved close to the west, they felt safe enough to get moving again.

Rising from his spot in the brush, cautiously scan the surrounding area before trekking up the mountain once more. "I need to make it to the top. From there, I should see a way out of this." Resolved to make sure that her fate was still in their own hands, he pushed forward.

It wasn't long before the top of Mt Ebott was in view, allowing for a smile to stretch across her face as she raced for the top. At the top, they found an interesting sight before him, a cove.

The cove itself was almost breathtaking, with all the flora that surround it as if it came straight out of a picture book. Tree roots and vines littered the ceiling and walls, the rock surfaces sparkled in the light and yet it was all offset by the large ominous hole that sat dead center of it all.

The hole stole her attention away as it sat, devouring all the splendor of the surrounding cove, yet this was the most beautiful thing in the cove for them. This was it, my way out, he thought with an ever-growing smile.

Her mind, which was a flurry of thought, came to a rest as they stood before it. Once there, he stared silently at it before turning her back to it. They soon spread their arms wide before falling into the pit's embrace.

He was awoken by a set of feelings that wasn't his own. One set was a mix of confusion, curiosity, reluctant, distrust, and faint hostility. The other set was more curiosity and ease. She wasn't sure why or how they could feel these sets of emotions or who they belonged to, but one thing was sure: they were strong enough to awaken him.

So, she pushed their own feeling of disappointment and opened his eyes. The sight that greeted her was two rather transparent figures. To their left was someone who was of similar age if not slightly older and much like himself that bore an androgynous make though with a closer look, they seem to ever slightly lean more towards the feminine side of the scale. Her hair was of a similar style to her own, with the difference being that their own was messy, while Her's was more in order and was chestnut brown in coloration. Her eye was crimson in stark contrast to her pale-ivory skin that was adorned by a natural blush that was hard to make out do to her transparence.

Her attire was also like his own, as it comprised nearly the same clothing, with the difference being their sweater was primarily dark-green with a singular large horizontal yellow-green colored strip going across the upper abdomen. Their shorts were dark brown, matched by their shoes, which were paired with a set of ankle high white socks.

The other one was on her right was a boy of similar age to them, his hair messy with no particular style and was black in coloration that was matched by his eyes that seemed to glare at them in rage but from the emotions they could feel from them he knew that was the furthest from the truth. His skin was warm beige in tone. His attire was composed of a dark red t-shirt with a black hoodie over it, which was matched in color with his shoes and pants.

A/N: As you can see, this was why I hate this draft beyond just being incomplete. It was rushed and made under very little sleep. Also, the inconsistency with Frisk pronouns has a reason, but I'll wait to reveal that after I actually rewrite and finish this chapter. There was more I wanted to do with this draft before releasing it but as time wore on it was getting more rushed so I didn't want to force it but from what little is written you can tell how dark the story will get sometimes so I hope you will take this as trail run and see if you even want to wait for the complete chapter release. If you are still around, I thank you for that and your patience, if not oh well.
