The Anointed One has found himself awake in a hospital bed. He saw Angela standing with a man in a white coat. His name was Egon Pierce.

Holding his hand, Angela spoke. "I'm so glad that you're okay now! I was so scared that you might not wake up."

"Angela, what about that man? Did he accept to adopt me?"

"No, but fortunately, as bad as this situation was, we have someone who's willing to accept you." Angela looked at the doctor.

Sensing that his back felt lighter and the skin touching, the Anointed One panicked. "My back armor! Where is it? I need to protect my spinal cord!"

"Don't worry, kid. We'll give you back that…'back-armor' of yours soon. You were lucky that time; if that man didn't stop in time, Angela estimated that it could've been fatal."

"I'm supposed to say…Thank you…You don't look intellectually competent unlike that previous man though."

"Oh, that's not what you say to the man who is generous enough to take you in!" Angela then turned to the doctor. "I'm sorry, Dr. Pierce. His social interaction skill is still in need of improvement."

"Are you sure that he is smart as this documentation says? He wakes up and the first thing he does is to judge someone by looks."

"Well, I guess you could say he treats social interaction as he does intellectually."

"I suppose that's fair enough. This documentation that you tricked me into reading for medical history…It does summarize that if we feed him garbage information, he will spit out garbage conclusion…I'm curious, you seem to be awfully familiar with this boy given how you met not too long ago."

"I'm quite good with kids and reading people, doctor. I tend to figure out people with just few interactions. Of course, I also got some help when he gave me his uh, 'documentation.'"

Just as the Anointed One was about to speak up, Angela had motioned with her finger out of Dr. Pierce's sight, trying to imply to play along. He remembered that Alexei's plan was to conceal their true identity, and so kept quiet.

"I guess I'll take your word for it. Normally, I wouldn't just adopt a child this abruptly. But, when I treated him, he fascinated me. When I saw a diagram of his anatomy, it made sense why his back and head radiated so much heat. No 5 year old speaks this coherently and maturely either…His master's wish on the documentation was for him to continue a pursuit of learning about the world to become the smartest man the world could offer, so that human breakthroughs will be easier than ever, and that humanity could evolve faster than ever. I suppose some would want to take his life if they feared his potential intellect, but it's not right to murder a child."

"You understand, right? It was hard to believe at first, but he was fearing his life, and so I believed it to be right to find him a new parent. I was searching and searching for someone that can help him fulfill his dream and purpose."

"And you asked for me, since I have some educational background. If indeed this boy has the potential to become the smartest man alive, the field of medicine could make miracles happen. Very well, Angela. I accept him."

"Thank you very much. I can be relieved knowing that he has a home now. Say thank you too."

"Thank you, sir, for letting me fulfill my master's dream when I failed the first time."

Egon lost his words for such guilt filled response from a boy. Then crossing out Anointed One's name on his documentation, he spoke. "Your name is Euler Pierce. You are no longer a tool named Anointed One that can be thrown away. You are a person; remember that."

With his new name, Euler was accepted into the Pierce family. He was introduced to Euler's wife, Mary. Before being sent to school, Mary took Euler to various recreational activities such as picnic and hiking to give him time to adjust to social norms, though as always, it wasn't easy. From Euler's persistent desire to expand his intellect, Egon sent Euler to high school at the age of 9 after taking the entry test.

Two months later, Mary received a knock on a door. There was the school principal and Euler standing by. The principal had a rather annoyed look on his face.

"Oh my gosh, did Euler get in trouble?" Mary asked.

"…No. It's uh…" The principal then pulled out Euler's graduation certificate.

"Wow! Euler has graduated already in two months?! That's great! But, why don't you look happy then?"

"Well…" The principal told how after some time skipping classes, Euler claimed to have read and mastered all necessary subjects by spending most of his time reading books in a library. He infuriated all the teachers saying their pacing was unacceptably slow and hindered his progress of fulfilling his master's dream of rapid human breakthrough in science. Despite being disciplined, he insisted on being given all exam papers to be qualified for graduation, and after a month, the principal granted his request to shut Euler up. He was shocked and distressed when Euler actually passed all the exams with a perfect score.

"I really wanted to put him in his place and kill his arrogance. Instead, this happens, and feels like you've lost a war to your worst enemy…"

"I…I see."

"You have quite a god-like genius child. But please teach him to be well-mannered and approachable. I can't think of any student or teachers liking him." The principal then took his leave.

"E-Euler, why didn't you tell me of these things before?"

"You didn't need to know the set-backs I faced in my journey for expanding my intellect. It's not a useful information to you."

"What? You hurt me, Euler. As a family, you don't have to hide anything from us. Let's have a long talk now, shall we? I have to stand with the principal on this one…"

After this, some time was required to pass before the Leiden university approved Egon's justification letter to accept Euler's application. With some free time, Egon asked what Euler wanted to do, and his response was to learn how to build products, for Euler had so many ideas but couldn't put them into reality. Finding a local metalworker within a city, Egon offered to pay him to teach Euler.

One day, the metalworker found that Euler had made something profound. "What do we have here? By the look of a tank, is it some sort of propane torch?"

"Correct, but the real spotlight is this holder for such torch. Welding by hand with any torch, be it shielded metal arc, or acetylene torch, can introduce errors." Holding up a rectangular, caved in metal, Euler continued. "This will fix such errors. All you need to do is to attach this thing I call a 'pathfinder' to this device, then attach a torch, and it will move in a straight path. If you want a precise curve path, you can detach this and attach this flexible pathfinder as well."

The metalworker's pupil widened for such invention. "How did you make this? This is such a game changing device for metalworking! I always said you are a type to learn one and figure out ten, but to see you make this…What are you?"

Going to the welding devices, Euler began. "I first make the pathfinders. They are 30 centimeters. Now-"

"Ah, you're doing it again." The metalworker said noticing unused calipers and measurement tools. "You're eyeing the measurements again. That won't do."

"Measurements consume time for me though."

"However you're doing it, nobody can eye an measurement and get it right. There's a thing called 'standard', kid. If you don't follow the standard of measuring the length before cutting, nobody will buy into your device."

"This 'standard'…Is it really necessary to prove a point?"

"…Yes. It's uh, kind of hard to explain it when it's such a common sense among people. I'll start by saying that it's sort of a rule to be considered 'acceptable'…"

In his teens, Euler became used to social norms and etiquettes thanks to patient and steady teachings from Egon and Mary. This was also a time when he got accepted into the Leiden university. Having been reminded to not repeat the mistakes he made in the high school, Euler eagerly spent his time at the university prioritizing his advancement of knowledge and intellect. Completing all his assignments in a blink of an eye, Euler had every day to absorb the information in a library.

A few months later, Euler baffled Egon saying that he read through every single book and thesis publishment within the library while still maintaining perfect score. Euler expressed that medicine intrigued him the most, acknowledging it as one of few subjects that was complex where so many factors could affect one thing or another, and found it a worthy subject to achieve numerous breakthroughs as his master desired.

Egon then consented to letting Euler be his assistant at a hospital during his spare time since practical experience was still missing from Euler. One time, a patient came in with a headache that seemed to never go away.

"When did you start experiencing this?" Egon asked.

"A week or two ago…It's hurting every day that it's distracting me…"

"Let's prepare an x-ray therapy and set up for a possible surgery." Euler said.

"Excuse me?!"

"R-Relax! He's still in training!" Egon said, baffled by such extreme diagnosis.

"It will make sure to cover for the worst case scenario of a tumor, inflamed blood vessel in brain, or perhaps-"

"You're stressing her out, Euler. For what we know, that could be the reason why she's having this headache. Besides, the treatment is too costly and has no basis for it. Now, watch how I diagnose her."

Around a year before the great war in Telsis, Euler was having a conversation with Egon regarding his attendance at a seminar prepared by Dr. Han, who was a prominent intellectual within the field of medicine. Euler wasn't so sure why Dr. Han had this expression of displeasure when Euler was asking a series of question.

"Give me the full context; what kind of questions did you ask?" Egon asked.

"After the presentation regarding the mRNA vaccine was finished, it was a time for questions. Since it was a new technology being tested, it was natural for me to ask the certainty behind its success. I asked: 'Under what assumptions are you stating that the mRNA sequence will successfully make it into the cells?'"

"And?"

"With a pause, he tried to assure that as unstable nature of a virus can still invade the cell, the mRNA sequence from the vaccine will make it to the cell. I knew that was not a good assumption, and I challenged him on that. I also asked about the questions of any possible changes to body's balance of chemicals and the means to store such vaccines."

"Hm, so far nothing wrong…"

"Dr. Han finally responded back to me with a question of how I'll address my own questions, with an infuriated look. I simply responded that I include lipids to protect the mRNA to ensure they make it to cell and include salts such as potassium chloride to balance the acidity, and sugar to maintain the mRNA molecules shape during freezing."

"Then what did he say?"

"He said: 'You'll soon see that I didn't earn such reputation with such simplistic mindset of approaching medicine.' Then the seminar was dismissed earlier than scheduled."

"My word. So, Dr. Han had that side of him. Quite disappointing."

"Why did he react that way? Isn't the point to pursue the truth and correct so that breakthroughs can be achieved?"

"Well, Euler. Sometimes, people don't like the idea of being wrong or flawed. Especially Dr. Han who doesn't seem to like his image of prominent medicine intellectual being ruined."

"For something he claimed to be a breakthrough to save more lives, it was quite mediocre, and I had to address that."

"I've met couple people like that in my days of students too; thinking themselves as someone better for 'saving lives' as a doctor or for knowing more than others…I hope you won't overreact to such people, Euler. I trust you for a genuine drive to find the truth and fulfill your dreams of making breakthroughs to move humanity forward."

"I see, what an intriguing yet troublesome behavior that he's showing..."

"Come on, not even a 'thank you' for enlightening you? You've been falling behind on that you know."
