After working rigorously, it was lunch time. Though Violet usually didn't need much food, the pace and mental energy that Euler demanded was the fastest that she experienced. This took some energy out of Violet and wanted some hearty meal as well.

"The progress of this thesis has been made faster than I expected. At the rate we're going, you may be dismissed earlier than usual." Euler said as he ate his food.

"It was thanks to your patient guidance last night that I minimized errors on my part. It is truly marvelous how you can make what seems impossible happen. That being said…Are you sure you're not eating too fast that it will choke you?"

"I've been eating like this my whole life. Needing large amount of food has been a hassle my whole life."

After lunch, they returned to work. But after an hour, Euler gave a cry of pain, holding onto his head and back.

"Are you okay, Euler?" Violet ran towards him.

"Damn, why does it have to be now? It must've been the stress and multi-tasking that took a toll on my brain."

"You collapsed! Do you need to be taken to a hospital?"

"My brain amplifies pain and emotion as much as it amplifies the speed of my thought process. I'm probably exaggerating the pain I'm feeling. I can probably endure-"

"I can't allow that. I had clients who overworked before, and it wasn't pleasant. To ensure that our work can safely be carried out in time, I sincerely ask you to rest."

"But if I'm to save my master, the sooner I publish this thesis, the better."

"Yet, look how much progress we made. We are just halfway done the thesis paper. You gave me 3 days because that is the time left for your master, correct? Then you have all the reason to not risk yourself as well at this point." After a few more exchanges, Euler finally consented to rest and sat on a couch with an ice pack on his head. "You're sweating very hard as well, Euler. Are you going to be okay?"

"That's just my brain. It radiates heat like that because it uses a large amount of energy to even operate. Hm, I'm already not comfortable that I'm just sitting here while the work needs to be done."

"I understand your feeling, Euler. I have a missing master who I dearly love, and would do anything to save him. But knowing him, he would care about my safety too, and if you're close to your master as well, he will be saddened to see you push yourself too hard as well."

"You are strange, Violet. Claiming to know my master when you never met him."

"You're right, but the feeling of love for close ones has been the same from all the clients I met, and so I have faith that it is the same with your master. For the sake of your master, Euler, please don't risk harming your health. For if you're not able to, then who will perform the therapy for your master?"

Euler contemplated for a while on Violet's last words. "You surprise me with your ability to persuade, Violet. However, there is something that adds strength to your persuasion, and I'm not so sure of this…substance that has managed to convince me. If it is not empirical evidence or logic, then what?"

"I'll be happy to tell you all about such thing with you when we finish this paper."

"Very well, I'll hold your word to it then."

The remaining two days went by relatively smoothly. Violet has adapted to the incredibly fast pace that was demanded, and Euler kept a calm posture to reduce the amount of stress on his brain. Euler's core radiation therapy parts and thesis paper were finished late night of the second day.

Violet presented the thesis paper, and Euler instantly flipped through each page for quality checking to make sure everything was correct.

"Um, are you sure you're doing a proper quality check, Euler?"

"Don't worry. Every page I flip is a page that I have read to be correct."

"You mean to tell me, that you can read that fast? You fascinate me once more, Euler."

"Speak for yourself; You can single-handedly stop the anti-peace terrorist group on a running train."

"Thanks for the compliment, though it was not without the help of others."

After reading the last page, Euler gave a small smile. "Everything looks good. We've finished the thesis. I'll write you a good reference signed by my hand tomorrow. Great work, Violet."

Violet gave a bigger smile. "I'm glad to have helped you save your master. I'll wish you all the luck for that radiation therapy to succeed."

Euler sat down at his couch, letting out sigh of relief with all the work done. "Master," he whispered to himself. "I've made another breakthrough, this time to save you. I'm coming, so hold on just a little longer."

Violet sat down beside him. "Now, I'll keep the promise I made to you. You wanted to know what convinced you to rest for the sake of your master, correct?"

"Right, you may begin. I'm…intrigued."

"First, I want to ask you how you think of your master."

"He is a person of high-intellect even by my standard, for it was he who created me. I must also say, that he is a forgiving and patient man…I've failed him in the past, yet he did all he can to ensure I live to serve my purpose."

"And for what reason do you think he did that for?"

"To…see that I make breakthroughs…I thought the answer was clear."

"I believe there's more to it than that. I know emotion is something you avoid, but do you remember any expression of emotion from your master?"

"Tears of sorrow when we were separated…When we were reunited, tears of joy, were they called? A smile when I reported my breakthrough…Then tears of sorrow again when I saw him sick…But there's one emotion that I can't seem to describe from him. It was constantly clear from him when he constantly checked on me when I was training to be a war tactician as an Anointed One…"

"I believe he was worried and concerned for you at that time, Euler. Then I'll ask you; were those emotions necessary if your master only wished you to fulfill your purpose?"

"…No. Emotions may be drastic distraction to me, but I suppose they'll significantly distract normal humans as well."

"The emotions you described to me, Euler, are sign that your master loves you."

"Love me…That is a common abstract term that I never bothered to understand in depth. But, what does this have to do with how you convinced me to rest?"

"You said that due to your brain's special mutation, your emotion gets amplified in a matter of seconds, and so you had to train to suppress your emotions. There was so little change in your face nor tone in your voice when we worked. That is, until anything implied that the progress of saving your master was slowed."

Euler's eyes widened. "You mean to tell me…"

"Yes, you catch on fast. I believe through those emotions; it is a sign that you also love your master. Tell me, do you feel as if…you are willing to pay a bigger price for the sake of your master?"

Euler immediately thought of him trying to push through his headache yesterday. Then he also recalled letting Egon see him letting his emotion go unchecked, as well as putting aside much of his planned next breakthroughs, and risk breaking the so-called "etiquette" to request Rory's Metal to manufacture a complex base structure for his radiation therapy at a very short notice. "How did you figure all this out, Violet? It's as if, you specialize in this emotional topic that is too abstract and intangible for me."

"I dare not say that I'm specialized in emotion. It is just that…you remind me very much of my past self. Despite being different person, watching your work and attitude towards emotion felt like I was seeing my past self, and so I answered like I was remembering my past."

"Incredible…So this, 'love' for my master has convinced me…What an interesting psychological phenomenon. I guess unchecked emotions can teach you something. Thank you, Violet. It was quite insightful."

Just as Euler was about to sit up from the couch, Violet held him by his shoulder. "Please, wait and listen a little longer. Love, or any human feeling, is not something you can dismiss as granted. It's the most important aspect of humanity that you must understand."

"Why so? I've lived my life and have been fulfilling my purpose without understanding it."

"I've thought so too in past, until that day on last battle on Fort Intense, when Major Gilbert, who took me in, said that he loved me. I've become a memory doll to learn what 'love' meant, and through understanding emotions, I vowed to myself to protect lives instead of killing and have grown into a complete person that no longer needs orders." Violet then touched her green brooch. "But most importantly, I now fully understand Major's feeling…All his actions and care for me make sense now, and his hope for my life as well…If the day comes that I meet him, I'll thank him endlessly."

Euler thought for a while, then responded. "Perhaps for you, your major saw that all wars end, and saw that need for you to change. However, my master's will for me was clear, and is clear to me; to continue to move humanity with my breakthroughs. The lack of understanding emotion, has not hindered me."

Violet expressed some degree of disappointment. "As I heard from Henry, Mr. Stevenson describes you as a person whose only interest is in completing his objective, and your ethics and etiquettes are only tools of making your interest appear as non-threatening as possible. With that in mind, perhaps it was foolish of me to think I can convince you of importance of emotion so fast."

Euler raised his eyebrow. "Who's Henry?"

"Huh? You don't know? He's Mr. Stevenson's son…I thought you knew."

"Not something I needed to know."

"Oh…well, anyway, if you somehow view what I just said about as foolish, then I won't bother you with my talk anymore."

"Don't think that your talk was in vain, Violet. Just know that, I'll keep what you said mind for a time-being, for I've never bothered to learn about emotions, and yet I learned about another interpretation from you…It's been a while since I learned something so profound." Euler then saw Violet making her way to the typewriter. "What are you doing? We're done with the thesis."

"As a ghostwriter, I specialize in deciphering my client's feelings and putting them into letters. Euler, why don't we write your first letter for your master? Let him know your feelings…I believe it will strengthen your relationship."

"It's late, and it won't be helping me save my master from cancer…We'll leave the workshop now.

Violet once again became disappointed, but knowing Euler, she stopped in her persistence and left the workshop with him.

The next morning, at Euler's house, Violet was getting ready to leave. Before her departure, Euler had something to give her. "Take this reference, Violet. It's not something official we do amongst scientists, but I give my signature on this paper to testify that you've become proficient in adapting and typing complex intellectual concepts. Perhaps it will help you get more commission from the intellectual field too."

Then Euler took out a box that was packed. "…And, this is for you too. I figured that a piece of paper with my signature didn't do enough justice, so I'll give you this typewriter prototype."

"You're really giving this to me? You didn't have to…I only wished to help you save your master, because I would do the same if major was in trouble too. That was enough for me."

"Thank you Violet, for everything you did. I think I can save my master now, and I couldn't have done it without you."

Violet smiled. "I saw a smile from you. Truth be told, you look better and friendlier with a smile on. I appreciate your heartfelt gratitude, Euler."

Euler quickly looked down, and wore his usual neutral face. "Ahem, don't get the wrong idea, okay?"

"It was my pleasure to help you, Euler. I wish your master a recovery. Goodbye Euler."

"…Goodbye, Violet."
