Slit and the Little Shit

Jerk it out of his hand.

He tried to jerk it out of his hand.

"That's my wheel!"

Little shit.

Can barely stand up on your own.

And you think you can drive the Fury Road.

"-lancer!"

You'll be dead in a week.

"I just promoted myself!"

And it wasn't even his wheel.

"-my day!"

It was the wheel of whoever was strong enough to drive.

"-stand up, you can't do war!"

And the warboy halfway on the floor, was not.

"-right, son-"

Organic understood.

"-dyin' soft!"

He knew.

"-corpse."

The war boy halfway on the floor didn't.

"-top-up! More juice!"

But Slit did.

"No time!"

Be dead less than a week.

Be dead tomorrow.

Oh but he had a plan.

"-blood bag!"

The corpsey little war boy did.

"-strap him to the lancer's perch!"

Little shit.

"- a muzzle on it!"

Crazy little shit.

"It's a raging feral!"

Pathetic crazy little shit.

"- right, high octane crazy blood filling me up!"

And then the little shit jerked up and headbutted-

Fuc-

-well, the shit out him.

Little shit.

Stood over him.

"If I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die historic . . ."

Defiant and tall.

Half-dead little shit-

". . . on the Fury Road!"

And Slit lurched back up to his feet, standing toe to toe with the puny, little half-dead warboy he'd grown up with, forehead pressed against his.

No weakness, no hesitation.

No failing.

He stared into his blackened eyes, growled deep in his throat, grunted a challenge.

He could take him down, leave him in the dust they both stayed covered in.

Leave him to die here, a weak, sick, helpless, little warboy just like all the others.

Slit could take point, cover himself in victory on the Fury Road, witnessed by everyone, ride to Valhalla, pride and honor to all-mighty V-8.

Or they both could.

"Yeah. Yeah."

Warboys together, glorious victory, glorious death.

"Organic, hitch up his blood bag."

One more time.

"Right-o."

No real point to this.

I just love this movie.

And I've got to go back to work in a few days.

So, why not?
