Euler could hardly sleep last night. Everything that could've went wrong, has went even worse than the scenario he imagined before. He clearly had an upper hand on Violet, and was about to defeat her for good, when it was not some powerful entity, but some commoners that ended up ruining his whole plan.

"Damn them, they were just lucky! See how powerless they were without Violet, yet upon seeing her, they make mockery of Undying One and taunt him from the second floor!" What angered and confused him the most was the cheering he heard as he was getting relentlessly beaten by Violet. Those were no signs of people scorning the outcast of Leidenschaftlich; on the contrary, they went against the very flow of truth that Anointed One has set in motion.

Looking at himself in the mirror, Euler was reminded of the time he desperately tried to go against the public narrative himself, trying to defend his radiation therapy and his invention. "Why them, and not me then? Why do they get to have success, and I don't? The truth I uncovered about this world couldn't simply fall apart by those unschooled simpletons!" Yet no plausible refute came into his mind. Those "simpletons" significantly dragged out the fight for the public to see the whole picture.

Euler then got a phone call from the city mayor, requesting to meet him and other important figures. He reluctantly accepted, hoping that he could improvise something in mind. When he arrived near the city hall, he was swarmed with journalists, asking him all the questions that he preferred not to answer.

"Mr. Pierce, do you still stand by your statement that Ms. Evergarden is a hinderance to the city's fight against Undying One after the incident at Rory's Metal?"

"Can you tell us why the gadgets failed to stop Undying One this time? Does that then justify the military deployment?

"Do you stand with the chief police's decision to not arrest the civilians that engaged in self-defense against Undying One with Ms. Evergarden?"

Euler angrily replied with either dodging answer, or simply calling them too simplistic to worth answering to. He hastily navigated through the crowds and hurried into the city hall where he would meet with the mayor.

Inside the meeting room were the mayor, chief police officer, and an intimidating blue haired man with military outfit. Euler took a seat with a rather uneasy expression.

"Good morning, Mr. Pierce. Thank you for responding to our sudden request to meet us. Allow me to introduce Sir Dietfried Bougainvillea, the naval captain of Leidenschaftlich army. I'm sure you've heard what happened at the Rory's Metal, and so we wanted to include you in our discussion of what our next steps should be." The mayor said.

"The military? What did I tell you before? Undying One isn't a threat that can solved by a simplistic brute force of more military soldiers!" Euler said.

"Well-spoken from a pampered scholar who knows nothing about the military and not having to fight on a battlefield." Dietfried replied. "And what of your 'gadgets' that failed then? The way I see it, they're no different than advanced weapon prototypes the military use, which you just described as 'simplistic brute force'."

"O-Our enemies can adapt the way we adapt you know. It's likely that he upgraded his armor to have defense mechanism against my gadgets, that's all. I process information at an exceptional speed, that coming up with a new gadget is no problem-"

"Yet with all that intellect you have, it hasn't even crossed your mind to deduct Undying One's hideout? His pattern? His objectives? Whether he's part of a group or alone? You squandered all your time selling your gadgets while making no practical efforts or real progress in knowing your enemy! I was baffled by how little information about Undying One was available!" Dietfried interrupted.

"With all due respect, I ask you to calm down, Sir Bougainvillea. Mr. Pierce has helped us for quite a while, which is why I invited him here in the first place." Mayor said.

"This is a serious matter. People's lives are at stake, yet you let him take over the important decision in battle tactics instead of someone who has experience. I've looked at the past reports, and they were the same; charge head on to Undying One hoping that Mr. Pierce's gadgets do the magic. You're in fact unbelievably lucky that you've come this far with this amateur battle tactic."

"As much as I hate to admit, you're right, Sir Bougainvillea." said the chief officer. "I remember when we were helpless against Undying One, then when Mr. Pierce intervened, we were so relieved to have his assistance that over time, his influence over us has grown large. But now I wonder if we could've defeated Undying One for good had we not relied so heavily on Mr. Pierce's advice. In that regard, I offer my sincere apology for such error on my judgment."

"How did you even get yourself in here anyway?" Asked Euler to Dietfried. "I remember clearly telling them not to call in military, lest they die in vain in the hands of Undying One."

"The truth of the matter is," Mayor replied. "Sir Bougainvillea has been contacting us for quite a while, and me and the chief officer declined his offer of support to respect your decision, Mr. Pierce."

"But then one of his retired comrades has told him about our flawed tactics, and that was why Sir Bougainvillea contacted us in the first place." The chief officer added. "That made us seriously consider receiving his support, and after the incident at Rory's Metal, we finally called him ourselves to assist us in battle against Undying One."

Euler rose up from the seat. "He's never even faced Undying One before. What would he know about him anyway?"

"Now that it has been demonstrated your gadgets aren't infallible, it has justified us to employ more support, Mr. Pierce." Replied the mayor.

"Don't worry, you still have room for your contribution. We are allocating some of your responsibilities to me and Sir Bougainvillea, where we will be making all the battle call outs and commands. Tell us what you know of Undying One, Mr. Pierce, and we can come up with a plan to take him down for good." The chief officer said.

Euler raised his voice against Dietfried. "You can't plan for Undying One, Sir Bougainvillea. I don't know how you managed to convince them that your intervention will somehow help us, but Undying One won't fit nicely into your schedule that he does what your simplistic, military mindset would think he does."

Dietfried made an intimidating expression that showed his frustration. "Well, if you can comprehend his complex schemes, Mr. Pierce, why don't tell us about it? That's the whole point of this discussion, isn't it?"

"You wouldn't understand, especially not if you've faced him before. See how I hide my address from the public, as he sees me as a threat. This is something only I can do!"

"Oh really? For someone that Undying One sees as a threat, you seem rather comfortable going around in public and making yourself known. Are you sure that this is something only you can do, especially after what the civilians did at Rory's Metal? You're not making any sense at all despite your reputation as a genius."

"Fine then! I'm not wasting my time reasoning with you. You go and see how it turns out, but I'll go and prove my point! Don't say I didn't warn you when your men are helplessly slaughtered!" Euler then hastily left the room.

"Oh dear, I'm afraid we've offended him too much. Perhaps you could've been a bit gentler, Sir Bougainvillea." The mayor commented.

"I figured he wouldn't be much asset to us anyway. He's the way I remember him; he always wanted to push his objectives onto others." Dietfried said. "Anyway, we don't need a self-important scholar addicted to authority hindering us. Let's talk amongst ourselves."

A day later, Dietfried visited CH Postal Company to talk with Claudia and Violet regarding the plan that was discussed with the mayor and chief officer. First, the funds that were originally for Euler will now go to Dietfried to be used for the fight against Undying One. Second, they lacked too much information about Undying One, and with Euler refusing to cooperate for some reason, they needed Violet's input, who fought with Undying One four times now. Finally, since Euler's assets proved to be not infallible, they now needed every asset they helped with even a little bit against Undying One.

"I'm assuming that's why you came here then; you want to ask for Violet's help." Claudia said.

"Precisely. The question then, is that are you willing to let Violet fight?"

Claudia thought for a moment, then looked at Violet. "Gilbert asked me to look after you, intending to set you free from gruesome war and battle. Yet you've grown enough to have your own resolve and view of life now. Violet, is this something you're willing to do?"

"Yes." Violet replied. "After the fight at Rory's Metal, I've found a new purpose in fighting. I no longer fight because I have the power to succeed, but because I have something important to safeguard; the lives of my friends, and the people who carry their emotion and bonds with the ones they love. Will you let me fight again this time?"

Claudia nodded. "As hard as it is for me, I will let you fight again. I will honor your resolve to fight for what you cherish instead of for the sake of following orders. Please be careful out there."

"I promise."

"Right then. Dietfried, I won't make Violet accept long distance commission for now. So, if you need her at any moment, she'll be ready to go."

"Good." Dietfried sighed. "I don't usually say this, especially to you, but…thank you for choosing to help, Violet. Now then, let's talk."

As Violet talked about what she knew, they determined that Undying One's power and agility rivaled Violet's, but with much more durability, having Violet's presence would be vital to even stand a chance against him. Taking inspiration from Rory's Metal, they decided that Violet would do all the fighting while soldiers from advantageous positions would provide support fire.

Violet also voiced that during their intense fight, the soldiers may have difficult time trying not to accidently shoot her, so she proposed to provide her with special communication device to make coordination easier with soldiers. Dietfried agreed, then also said that using city's funds, she will also be provided with light protection gears to minimize the durability gap between her and Undying One.

"Do you remember your battle axe, Witchcraft?" Dietfried asked.

"Yes. It's been such a long time since I've heard of it." Violet replied.

"The military has been keeping it since the end of Great War. That axe should even the odds with Undying One's wrist blades. Have it with you from now on, because you never know when the military will summon you to fight Undying One."

"Um, I'm not sure how I feel about carrying it around everyday…It's going to get everyone's attention."

"If that's a problem, a specialized case to carry it around should at least hide the fact it's an axe."

"I guess…"

"With that aside, there's one last thing I want to bring to your attention. A chief officer reported to me that an anonymous individual sent them a coordinate of what is Undying One's hideout…" Dietfried took out a map to where the Undying One's hideout was allegedly located. "We can't confirm if it's trustworthy or not. What do you have to say?"

Violet looked at the map, and she felt uneasy that it was vaguely within the area of Euler's workshop. She couldn't recall exactly where his workshop was to see whether the coordinates matched his workshop. Even then, Violet had an ominous feeling about it.

Wanting to deny the suspicion, Violet gave her neutral reply. "I couldn't say for sure either."

"That's what I figured you'd say. We won't assume that this anonymous individual is completely trustworthy, but we'll keep their information in mind nonetheless." After the meeting was done with Violet, since Undying One's recent activity involved metal materials, Dietfried advised the mayor to increase defense around metalworking business within the city. He also distributed secret soldiers disguised as civilians, ordering them to keep an eye out over any suspicious activities that may be involved with Undying One.
