Disclaimer: I do not, in any way, shape, or form, own "How To Train Your Dragon" or "Rise Of The Guardians." This fanfiction is for fan-based purposes only.
Author's Note (A/N): So, I've decided to create a new story. But don't worry, everyone, I will still be continuing my many other stories until I finally complete them. This story is inspired by the song "Glad You Came" and mainly revolves around the lyrics of the song, but not always.
As Jack, Bunnymund, Sandy, Tooth, and North gathered to celebrate Jack's induction as a Guardian, their joyful reunion took an unexpected turn. Tempers flared, and a heated argument erupted between Bunnymund and Jack, driving Jack to escape into the sky in a burst of anger.
Finding solace, Jack settled beside the serene lakeshore where he had met his untimely end in his former life. Reflecting on his selfless sacrifice to save his sister Emma, he couldn't help but smile, knowing that she had blossomed into a life filled with happiness, a loving family by her side.
As Jack immersed himself in these bittersweet memories, a haunting melody pierced the stillness of the moment. Intriguingly, he felt an eerie connection between the haunting voice and his own past. Slowly, he rose to his feet, following the haunting tune as autumnal leaves began to cascade from the trees. Almost a year had passed since his battle with Pitch, and soon he would usher in winter once more.
Navigating the forest's winding paths, he emerged into a tranquil clearing, where he glimpsed a young boy perched atop a colossal boulder, barely fourteen or fifteen years old. Emerging from the shadows, Jack silently observed, for only a select few could perceive his presence. The boy was engrossed in a book, harmonizing with nature's symphony in an enchanting melody. Jack was captivated by the boy's ethereal voice.
Suddenly, the boy pivoted in Jack's direction, their eyes locking in an enigmatic connection. Neither uttered a word. Jack questioned whether the boy could see him or if his gaze extended beyond Jack. Turning to inspect his surroundings, Jack found nothing unusual. Abruptly, a gust of wind sent a torrent of leaves whirling behind him. When he spun back, the boy had vanished, leaving Jack befuddled and uncertain.
Ascending to the skies in pursuit, Jack scoured the landscape, but no trace of the boy emerged. The sun dipped beneath the horizon, ushering in the arrival of twinkling stars. Confounded and mystified, Jack decided to return to the company of the other Guardians.
Upon arriving at North's workshop, Tooth and Sandy greeted him warmly. However, North and Bunnymund were conspicuously absent.
"Jack!" Tooth exclaimed, embracing him tightly.
Perplexed, Jack inquired, "What's going on?"
"We were worried about you. North and Bunny went out to search for you. Aster wanted to apologize for the earlier argument," she explained as she released him from her embrace.
"Tell Aster I forgive him," Jack replied.
"Are you not staying?" Tooth asked, her concern mirrored by Sandy, who conjured a question mark above his head inquisitively.
"I can't at the moment. I'm on the lookout for someone," he informed them. Sandy harnessed his sand magic to conjure a perplexed question mark hovering above his head.
"I can't quite recall his name, but I spotted him not too far from the lake I tumbled into," Jack elaborated.
"Really? What was he like?" Tooth inquired.
"He had light brown hair, and his eyes were truly captivating, to the point where they could rival my own dazzling teeth," Jack revealed. Tooth remained sceptical about anyone's eyes surpassing Jack's gorgeously white teeth.
"But he could see you!" Jack exclaimed.
"He could see you, yet you didn't recognize him. I thought only Jamie and his friends could perceive you?" Tooth pondered.
"I know, but we made eye contact. I even turned around to check if he was gazing at something behind me, but there was nothing. Then a gust of wind swept through, and when I turned back, he had vanished!" Jack recounted, his words tumbling out in a rush as he caught his breath.
"Well, perhaps you should take a breather today and resume your search tomorrow," Tooth suggested, with a nod of agreement from Sandy.
"I suppose you're both right," Jack conceded as he soared away, intending to check in on Jamie. For some inexplicable reason, he felt a strong desire to learn more about the young brunette boy he had encountered earlier.
Author's Note (A/N): - Sorry for no Frostcup, but I felt like I should let the relationship between Jack and this young brown haired boy grow a little first, hope you all enjoyed this opening to this new fanfiction, and until next time, stay amazing everyone.
