Author's Note: Well after twenty long chapters we're finally at the final episode of the season, of course there's still a few chapters to go after this episode however this certainly feels like the home stretch for this fanfic.
For the next couple of chapters I'm still deciding on how to proceed with the episode format, however from the comments I've seen answering this it seems like people prefer the casts getting their own chapter rather than having the perspectives switch between them. I'll still take reviews for this chapter into account when writing up the perspectives, since I'll likely have written them both side by side.
Reviews
RFtheGreat: Like with Axel this needed resolving sooner rather than later, and while I could have pushed this into the finale episode it would've meant that Lauren missed out on the fun! I felt a little mean pushing things onto Harold more so however it was in his character to argue against accusations (even if he was in fact in the wrong every time i.e. Leaving his underwear on the floor causing Duncan and co to bully him until he stopped)
If there's one thing I'm glad the reboot got rid of it was the unnecessary 'character goes bald' trope they kept pushing into each season. (I think All Stars was the only one that didn't have this, although I could be wrong)
Thanks for answering the question! As I said above I'm probably leaning towards a separate chapter for each cast, just to make things somewhat easier to manage. And hey there's still a few more chapters to go before this story is over, and there's always a potential sequel. ;)
Oh and unfortunately I don't think there's a fanfic with this concept in mind, what I had referred to was an image showing the concept of a recovered Dakota and Zeke. I'd like to see someone do that as a fic tho!
The Imaginationeers: Thank you for answering my question! I'll be taking your opinion into consideration and I'm glad you thought about if it'd help me in the long run whilst writing it, because it probably would help focusing on each cast instead of flipping between the pair.
Thunderdragon453: Do we want Chris to get his long overdue karma? Yes! Will that happen? Depends on if they can get that footage…
Chapter Twenty One
Chris McLean stood over by the area where the final challenge was due to start soon. The final three were completely distracted, Chef being instructed to keep them occupied whilst the interns finished the final preparations for the challenges, not that they needed to be distracted by the sounds of things, from what little he's seen of them since Julia was eliminated the previous night, any sense of comradery had completely disappeared between Priya and Millie, and if Bowie's increasing confidence was anything to go by he suspected he had something to do with it, not that the host minded in the slightest, means better ratings if there's extra drama going into the finale.
Anyway, back to the task at hand, when the interns were finished with constructing the obstacles for the challenges, he would go and collect the peanut gallery from the Playa Des Losers, where hopefully he can also snuff out his 'Ezekiel problem' once and for all…
That being said, he was hoping to twist the recent developments involving him to his own advantage, after all if these old contestants wanted to come back so badly then he was completely fine with that. It just meant that they couldn't complain when he finds a way to force them on to another season of the show.
Chris grinned sadistically to himself, feeling like he had just struck gold with that last thought as he began to plan out exactly how he would manipulate this situation to his advantage. Of course, any plans involving the older contestants would have to wait until after the next season was over, one of the conditions of even getting Total Drama back on air was that he needed to complete two seasons with the new cast, and they were only just approaching the end of their first season…
Not that any of them knew yet of course, he planned to drop it on them once the challenge was over, knowing some of these contestants, they would be glad to have another chance at a million dollars.
He initially wanted to give them only a couple of days in between seasons, just like the gap between his first two seasons, however because of said 'Ezekiel problem' that Scary Girl had caused for him, he needed an opportunity to get him off the island, at least for a while, so he extended the break to two weeks instead.
The NDA's should convince the majority of the contestants to keep their mouth's shut about how the season had panned out, the social media issues and that damn video aside…
"Chris sir!" A voice called over to him, snapping the host out of his thoughts, Chris looked over, seeing an intern approaching him cautiously. "We've finished all the preparations for the challenge, we just need to fix up the stands for the others to sit and watch the challenge."
"Very good intern… Is the boat of losers ready? I have some losers to pick up from the resort…" Chris responded, grinning at the nervous intern.
"Y-Yes sir…" The intern replied nervously.
"Good… if that's everything then… I'll be off." Chris said before walking off away from the area where the challenge was to be held, leaving the intern to make the finishing touches on the stands where the peanut gallery would be seated.
Chris quickly found himself walking through Camp Wawanakwa, he noticed the three remaining campers all doing their own things in the little free time they had left before the start of the final challenge. Priya was training in the centre of the campgrounds, currently doing push ups with a pissed off look being aimed towards Millie, the latter sat glumly on the steps leading up to one of the cabins.
Bowie on the other hand was grinning from his position from the other cabin, watching the tension grow between the two females, before his grin quickly turned into a grimace as he looked down at the slop he'd been served by Chef in preparation for the challenge.
Chris smiled cruelly once he'd gotten far enough away from the contestants, oh they were so unaware of what they were about to get themselves into…
"Now what the hell is that look for this time?" A voice called to him from the Boat docked next to the Dock of Shame, Chef quickly stepping off onto the dock, leaving a female intern to man the controls to the boat.
Chris looked at him for a moment, his smile becoming more strained as he recalled their previous interaction the other night. "Relax Chef, it's just about the challenge… It's going to be a ratings machine with how brutal it's gonna be for our final three!" He replied, his grin widening slightly at the thought of tormenting the remaining contestants.
"And this has absolutely nothing to do with the others at the resort?" Chef asked sceptically, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow in doubt of Chris's words.
"Chef, seriously, I'm not going to hurt them, we'll just separate the old and new casts and bring our losers back to the island. No Ezekiel, no drama on my end, we can deal with all of that after we wrap up the season…" Chris explained, trying his best to look sincere.
Unfortunately for the host, Chef just rolled his eyes in response, seeing right through Chris's lies. "Yeah right, and I'm going to be the next 'Miss Canada'..." He muttered sarcastically before grabbing the Host and throwing him onto the Boat of Losers. "I'm coming with you to make sure that things go smoothly over at the Playa Des Losers."
"Well who's gonna stay and keep an eye on our cast while we get everyone back to the island?" Chris complained, knowing that he couldn't torment Ezekiel and co with Chef around.
"I've got it handled…" Chef responded confidently before pulling out a walkie talkie. "Interns, this is Chef Hatchet, I need you all to keep an eye on our three finalists until we're ready for the final challenge, do NOT let them leave the campgrounds until we're ready!" He shouted into the device, waiting for the confirmation from the interns still on the campsite to respond before putting the device away and turning to grin smugly at Chris.
Chris sighed in defeat, knowing that he wasn't going to get his way, turned to address the female intern who was still sat by the boat's controls watching the exchange with slight interest. "You! Get the boat started already. Let's just get this over with already…" He said dismissively, not really wanting to talk to anyone until they'd retrieved the contestants from the resort.
She nodded back nervously before turning back to operate the Boat, quickly beginning to move away from the Dock of Shame, slowly leaving the island and beginning to head in the direction of the Playa Des Losers resort.
The female intern glanced behind herself one more time, noticing how Chris and Chef were glaring at one another, becoming slightly interested in what exactly had happened between her two bosses, and how this would pan out as they sailed across Lake Wawanakwa and towards the Losers Resort.
"So, remind me what I'm supposed to do one more time?" Izzy asked giddily towards the others, Noah sighing in annoyance at her questions.
"Seriously Izzy, do we have to spell everything out for you… What we need you to do is to try and sneak on to Camp Wawanakwa whilst this 'finale' is happening with the others, find whatever you can to help us in our case towards Chris, and get out without being caught…" Noah explained, not giving too much detail as he knew that Izzy was just trying to annoy him.
"And if I can't…" Izzy began, only to be cut off by Damien.
"...Then we can't proceed with the lawsuit." He said before giving the Crazy Girl a small glare of his own. "Come on Izzy, Noah's right… Why do you keep asking us the same stupid questions anyway? You obviously know what you need to do so why do this?" He asked her, only for Izzy to grin slyly at him.
"Well for one you guys keep falling for it!" She laughed, ignoring the annoyed grumbling from Noah and the pointed glares from the others in the room. "And secondly, I'm trying to figure out how exactly I'm supposed to get on to the island without them knowing I'm there, after all I can't just walk in with the rest of you…" She grinned once more, knowing that they know she's right, and in Noah's case he'd hate that she was right.
"And let me guess… you can't use the boat we used to get here either can you?" Noah asked her.
"Yeah, unfortunately not… Besides I'd need somewhere to hide it, and I know Chef will no doubt be on the lookout if I were to take the boat. If anything I'd probably need to hitch a ride with you guys without being seen, kinda like how Ezekiel kept hiding on the plane." She explained, her smile dimming slightly at the mention of what happened to her friend on the plane.
"But we don't even know how we're gonna get back there, I highly doubt that that Drone is gonna be able to take us back and forth, and the only boats we ever saw were those small speed boats that the interns brought us to the island in?" Damien responded, pondering over how they were going to be picked up.
"Eh… We'll cross that bridge when we get to it…" Izzy said dismissively, before grinning wildly as she pulled out a large thin black bag with similar proportions to her from seemingly nowhere. "Besides I have my secret weapon just in case!" She cackled.
"Do I even wanna know what that is?" Damien turned to Noah, looking slightly concerned.
"Knowing Izzy it's probably not going to be fun for us…" Noah sighed, before turning to the Crazy Girl with the most deadpan look on his face. "Alright nutjob, what's in the bag?" He asked Izzy, who smirked back at him as she unzipped the bag.
"The perfect decoy of course!" She grinned once more, reaching into the bag and pulling out a model head of herself, Damien screaming in surprise at how realistic it looked whilst the others gasped in shock. "I made it myself, just stick it in the lecture hall and BANG! No one suspects a thing…" She said happily as she pulled the rest of the Izzy mannequin out of the bag, the model being an exact replica down to the smallest feature.
"So that's your plan? Sneak on board whatever Chris brings here whilst using that as a decoy?" Nichelle asked from the corner of the room, Axel sitting next to her looking annoyed at having to be there.
"Yep!" She smirked at them, adjusting the head so that it was securely back on to the rest of the decoy's body. "As long as Chris or Chef don't address it! We should be good, I just need somebody to help puppet it so that they don't realise that it isn't moving…"
"I can do it!" Sierra called over to her long time friend, grinning at her, Cody sitting next to her.
"Yeah, if multiple of us crowd around with it, they're less likely to notice anyway as we can just hide her from view." Cody agreed. "Plus I'm sure some of the others will agree as well."
"Perfect!" Izzy cackled, smirking at everyone in the room. "Then all we need to do is pinpoint where the most likely location for these tapes will be…"
"Well since there's no Spa Hotel anymore after it was destroyed, and it's obviously not here at the resort. I'd check the spare trailers that Chris had, he used it in season one back when this show was taking off, and I'm sure he's probably having to use it again now that he's essentially back to square one after so long off the air." Noah explained, recalling some of Chris's old abodes on the show from both before and after his time as Chris's assistant.
"It's probably best to check all of the trailers just to be safe Izzy, he may have put them in Chef's or even the interns just to be safe." Sierra warned, agreeing with Noah.
"Aye Aye captains!" Izzy grinned cheekily at the duo, having finished preparing her decoy just before an intercom started crackling throughout the resort, everyone's heads whipping around in confusion as they'd yet to hear this during their time at the resort.
"Attention Campers and Unwanted Guests…" Chris's voice spoke to them, the old cast immediately gaining annoyed looks on their faces whilst the newer cast stood up in preparation to leave. "Will all of you report to the main lobby in the next few minutes, and yes, I mean both sets of casts, I know you're here…" He said cryptically before the intercom promptly switched off, leaving the contestants in the room to groan in a mixture of anger and annoyance before gathering up to leave the room.
Izzy handed over the decoy to Cody and Sierra, quickly instructing them on how to manipulate the limbs of the fake model before seeing them out of the door, before she promptly made her way outside in a different direction, sneaking towards the docks where she hoped a mode of transportation would be waiting for her to sneak onto.
*A few minutes earlier*
Lauren sighed to herself as she leaned back into the chair overlooking the pool area, her decorated skull laying next to her, the skull having been painted over once again, albeit some of it was unfinished, parts of the skulls original goldish colour still there despite Lauren's attempts to brush over it until it was as pale as her skin.
Ezekiel had gone back to their room to go and grab some more makeup so that she could finish the skull's makeover, briefly leaving the Scary Girl to her thoughts for a few minutes while he was gone.
Her thoughts quickly wandered back to her 'family' back at the circus that had found her. Would they have accepted her performance on Total Drama? Will they accept Ezekiel for who he was? What about his family? Would they accept someone like her who was so casual about the darkest things?
Deep down she wondered at times about whether she should try and pretend to look and act a little more 'normal', while she did love to express herself through her appearance and personality, admittedly sometimes she does wonder about what it would be like to be part of a larger circle of friends like a lot of the others both at the resort and back on Camp Wawanakwa.
Ezekiel admittedly accepts her for who she is, and she really appreciates the Feral Homeschooler for that, and she knew that some of the others like Izzy and Dawn she'd learn to get along with in time. However she admittedly is a little disappointed that none of the others can tolerate her more… 'eccentric traits'.
Any positive interactions that she'd had with her own cast had usually come about because of Ezekiel, about how they had all wanted to help him to recover from what had happened to him during his time on the show. However, she knew they were still extremely creeped out by her, Damien refused to talk to her unless other people were there, and yet he was the nicest out of her cast when it came to her.
Lauren looked at her skull once again as she pondered these thoughts, sure she liked being 'Scary Girl', and sure she liked being the eccentric and creepy personality amongst her generation of contestants, however she wondered if perhaps she should try give a different persona a try if another season presented itself, would the others accept her then if she was more… 'Normal'? Would Ezekiel? She didn't even know what she wanted at this point, she liked who she was and was content with what little she had, so why is she contemplating wanting more…
As her mind continued to wander, her smile slowly started to become more and more crazed, gently rocking back and forth as she started to cradle her skull, humming softly to herself.
Fortunately for Lauren, her brief dissociation from reality was quickly ended when a voice called over to her. "Hello… Scary Girl!" They called over to her, walking up to the wide eyed, shakily rocking Scary Girl and snapping their fingers in front of her face.
Unfortunately for her, the person just so happened to be the last person that wanted to be around Lauren. "Ugh, seriously… I can't get one moment of privacy in this place! First that weird Hockey guy trying to flirt with me and now you're here when I wanted to relax before heading back to that stupid island…" Julia complained, crossing her arms in discontent as Lauren began to snap out of her delusions.
"Huh…" Lauren responded absentmindedly, briefly forgetting where she was for a moment as Julia groaned in annoyance.
"So she is in there after all… Buzz off Scary Girl! You've got to hog this pool area for almost a week while I was stuck competing!" Julia stated angrily.
Lauren meanwhile just shrugged innocently after regaining her bearings, smiling creepily at Julia. "We can both relax here, can we not?" She grinned eerily, receiving an angry look from the influencer in return.
"No we can't! Now get lost buttknuckle!" Julia demanded, attempting to shove Lauren off her deck chair, only for Lauren to grin and roll backwards slightly, tilting the chair downwards, smacking straight into Julia and causing her to stumble backwards in surprise, eventually falling backwards into the pool just as the doors nearby opened.
"L-Lauren! I've got yo…" Ezekiel trailed off, seeing Lauren lying on the floor with an innocent grin on her face, still cradling her decorated skull as Julia began to resurface, a pissed off expression on her face as she spat out water.
"You are so dead Scary Girl!" Julia shouted over to her, unaware of the Homeschooler's presence behind her.
"Is that a threat?" Lauren giggled slightly, knowing that she could take on Julia in a fight if it came down to it, looking past Julia towards where Ezekiel was standing confused, sending him a sly wink.
"What the hell is she doing?" Julia muttered to herself bewilderedly as she got out from the pool, quickly rinsing the water from her hair before turning around, quickly spotting the third member in their little conversation. "Oh, so this is the weirdo that everyone on the island had lost their mind over…" She chuckled to herself slightly, having not noticed him when she first got to the resort after her elimination the previous night.
"Leave him alone 'friend'..." Julia heard from behind her, turning once more to see Lauren glaring at her maliciously, venom lacing her every word.
"Oh? And who's gonna stop me?" Julia grinned in return, keen to let out some anger after the way she'd been betrayed by Bowie in the last challenge.
Ezekiel looked between the two, wondering if he should step in before things got too ugly between the two girls when the intercom started crackling throughout the resort, the trio stopping what they were doing and beginning to look around in confusion.
"Attention Campers and Unwanted Guests…" Chris's voice spoke to them, Julia sighing in annoyance before looking around, seeing the pure looks of hatred from both Lauren and Ezekiel as the host spoke.
"Will all of you report to the main lobby in the next few minutes, and yes, I mean both sets of casts, I know you're here…" He said cryptically before the intercom promptly switched off.
Ezekiel growled in anger at what Chris had said, already dreading the thought of having to deal with him again, especially so soon after the last time he had stepped foot in the resort. Lauren walked up to him with a similar dark expression on her face, gently taking his hand in her spare hand as she looked over towards Julia.
"We better get going you know…" She began eerily, her smile stretching across her face. "We don't want to be late, do we, Julia?" She continued, her head tilting with an unnatural crack sounding throughout the area, Julia wincing in discomfort as Ezekiel looked at his girlfriend with a blank expression, the makeup bag he'd gone to retrieve in his free hand.
"L-Let's just g-go already eh…" Ezekiel muttered to the pair absentmindedly, a downcast look appearing on his face as he began to accept that the pain wasn't quite over for him yet, the trio beginning to make their way to the lobby and towards their final destination for the season.
"Welcome Campers!" Chris greeted the cast gleefully once he'd noticed all twenty nine of them had arrived in the lobby. Chef standing beside him, keeping to his word of keeping an eye on the host in order to make sure that he didn't go off the rails with the older contestants. The female intern wasn't present, having stayed by the boat in order to refuel it for the round trip to the island.
Chef looked around at the familiar faces, both old and new. He was relieved to see that some of them were doing quite well for themselves since leaving the show, being just as shocked as everyone else at some of the changes the old cast had gone through. However, as much as he wanted to go and talk to some of them, he knew he couldn't, given they were on a tight schedule to get the finale prepared before noon, which meant getting the peanut gallery back to Camp Wawanakwa sooner rather than later.
He did however take a moment to study some of them a little closely, seeing that a lot of them had gone silent when Chris had entered the lobby, stopping what they were doing in order to glare venomously at the host, something that he was happy to notice was exclusively aimed at him, with a couple of the contestants even waving happily towards the cook turned co-host.
Some of them in particular definitely were mad at the sight of Chris, if looks could kill then Lauren and Ezekiel would've incinerated Chris with how they were glaring at him, Dawn being the only reason why neither of them had jumped at the host when he had entered the room. Cody and Izzy were also giving Chris quite the death stare from towards the back of the room, but unlike the feral duo who had only recently entered the room with Julia following suit, those two looked quite content to stay where they were.
"What do you want, McLean?" Bridgette eventually asked, being another one of the older cast members who looked extremely pissed off at the sight of the host.
"Aww… Is that anyway to greet your old pal after everything he did for you?" Chris responded mockingly, a sickly sweet tone in his voice with his signature smile plastered on his face.
"What, those three seasons of torture you put us through? Yeah, because we definitely want to thank you for that…" Noah snarked back at him.
"Is that not why you guys are here? To reminisce on the good ol' days?" Chris continued, knowing full well why everyone had actually come to the resort but refusing to believe that it was true, even with the older cast staring at him in the face.
"Why would we come back here to deal with you?" Tyler responded, raising an eyebrow in confusion at the host's words.
"Yeah, we don't even like you…" Cody continued, still glaring daggers towards Chris as Sierra nodded beside him, quietly manipulating the fake Izzy so that it looked like she was nodding in agreement as well.
"Besides… We only came back here in order to make sure Ezekiel was okay!" Harold argued, ready to throw hands with Chris if necessary, only for Brick to gesture for him to calm down slightly, discreetly pointing towards where Chef was standing.
"Really? For him?" Chris responded, awaiting a response to this, hoping that someone would tell him that this was actually all a prank.
"Um… Yeah? I thought Chef told you about the cure I sent here for him… You really think I'd do that if I didn't want him to be okay?" Dakota responded, shocked at what Chris was saying.
Chris looked alarmingly at Chef, noticing the glare that his co-host was giving him. "I told you that you needed to let go of this grudge Chris…" Chef muttered to him, annoyed and fed up with this whole situation, the cook just wanting to get back to the island and finish the season already.
Chris paused for a moment, trying to think of a way that he could escape this awkward conversation, in complete disbelief of what was going on.
"Okay, we get it, this guy is a total asshole and everyone here dislikes him… Can we please get to the reason you're actually here?" Emma spoke out, her sister nodding in agreement. She then turned to Noah, letting out a small sigh before smiling slightly at him. "Guess you were right about him after all…"
"Told you." Noah smirked.
"Excuse me? And who the hell are these two!" Chris interrupted, glaring at the sisters in particular, not recognising them in comparison to everyone else in the room.
"Oh these two." Noah began, his smirk widening as he realised that he had a chance to completely break the host who had spent years tormenting him and his companions during the multiple seasons they had competed on the show.
"This is my girlfriend and her sister. We met on the Ridonculous Race a few years ago, you know, the reality show with the FAR superior host." Noah continued, knowing full well that Chris will hate being compared to Don, especially in a negative way.
Chris blinked, stunned at what was happening, a single sound escaping his lips…
Then another…
And another…
Then before everyone in the room knew it, Chris was laughing hysterically, the host finding the whole situation hilarious. Chef looked over awkwardly towards the contestants sitting there in various forms of bewilderment, silently apologising for what Chris was doing.
Eventually Chris calmed down slightly, wiping a tear from his eye as he breathed heavily, he looked around once more at the contestants gathered in the lobby, realising that his plan of riling up the contestants was quickly failing, and that continuing to try it would not only eat into the runtime for the finale, but Chef was also looking increasingly mad with him, something that the host hoped he could rectify once everything was said and done with this season.
He didn't want another 'Total Drama Action' situation after all, Chef had very nearly quit on him once, he didn't want that to actually happen this time…
Chris cleared his throat before speaking once more. "Anyway… enough with this mini reunion, you all know why I'm really here, and it's about our thirteen LOSERS who were actually meant to be here today!" He announced, drawing some glares from the newer contestants, namely Axel, Nichelle, Julia and Ripper, who all took offence to Chris's opinion of them.
"Yeah yeah, back to the island we go…" MK responded, rolling her eyes.
"Yep! And thanks to our 'classic' competitors wasting my time!" Chris continued, ignoring the fact that the only reason they had wasted time was because of Chris himself being argumentative with them. "We need to leave NOW in order to get back in time for filming."
"And yet you choose to laugh at us instead…" Noah deadpanned.
"Alright then, so we head to Wawanakwa then…" Harold said as he started to stand up, not noticing Chef wince slightly as he knew what Chris was about to say.
"Woah there Harold, what do you mean 'we'..." Chris responded, holding his hand out as if to tell Harold to stop getting up. "You guys aren't coming with us, this is for new contestants only! You guys are just gonna have to stay here." Chris grinned.
"W-What…" Ezekiel muttered in shock, clutching Lauren's hand as he realised that they were gonna be separated once more.
"Relax Freakiel…" Chris said mockingly towards the Feral Homeschooler, "They'll be back before too long, besides you guys still get to watch the finale yourselves." He looked towards Chef for confirmation.
"I got some of the interns here to modify one of the lounges to stream everything from the island to the resort, you'll get to see the whole thing." Chef confirmed.
"I didn't want to since it's potential spoilers just waiting to happen, but as Ezekiel had caused this chain of events to bring you all here, you all already know who the finalists are so we don't really have a choice. Plus it means we don't have to bring him along since he'll have guests." Chris continued happily, before glaring at the contestants. "Now come on, we're burning daylight, and the longer it takes to record this challenge, the longer it takes to get everyone back here."
Nichelle sighed in response, "Looks like we don't have much of a choice…" before standing up, "Sorry Zeke." She apologised to him as she started to head towards the exit where Chris and Chef were stood, Caleb and Axel following suit, the pair giving the older contestants a brief nod of respect as they left.
One by one the others began to leave as well, Emma and Chase practically needed to be pushed out of the door by Ripper and Zee, the pair stuck in an embrace passionately making out with each other, something that they hoped wouldn't persist throughout the rest of the day. Damien eventually had to pry Lauren off a saddened Ezekiel, Dawn staying by him in order to comfort him whilst the Scary Girl looked annoyed, clutching her skull in anger.
Julia and MK both silently walked out of the doors, neither of them caring about the older contestants enough to even attempt to say anything to them, lastly Wayne and Raj shared a fist bump with Tyler, the pair vowing to return with their heads held high, having cheered Bowie on until the end, whether or not he ended the season as a millionaire or not.
The older contestants followed them out of the door, waving them one last goodbye as they began to board the Boat that was docked just outside. The female intern manning the boat had greeted Caleb enthusiastically, and was busy making small talk with the bodybuilder as Chef made sure that all thirteen of the eliminated contestants got onto the boat.
Lauren could be seen still visibly struggling, Wayne and Raj having since started helping Damien with restraining her, although the Scary Girl was somehow overpowering the trio. Ezekiel meanwhile had ran up to the boat as the last contestant had gotten onto the boat, Chris and Chef both hopping onto it so that the intern could depart.
He had just enough time to clutch her hand one last time, gently trying to reassure her that things would be fine, he passed her a small blue cloth, smiling gently at her as the boat began to slowly move away from the dock. Lauren smiled in return, beginning to stop thrashing about, the trio holding her back barely able to keep their collective sighs of relief from being heard by the Scary Girl.
Lauren looked at the 'cloth' in her hand, quickly realising that it was Ezekiel's old blue toque, she looked back up at him in order to thank him, a beaming smile on her pale face, only to see that the boat had already begun to speed up, the resort quickly beginning to become more and more distant.
Back at the dock, the old contestants continued to wave the boat goodbye, beginning to notice something clinging underneath the boat, a small orange and green blob appearing on the side of the boat as it sailed away.
Izzy held back laughter as the boat sped along the waters of Lake Wawanakwa, choosing instead to grin madly as the resort got further and further away, Step One of the plan was complete, Chris and Chef didn't seem to notice her stowing away on their boat, now she just needed to get onto the island without being spotted.
She knew that the hard part was yet to come, but the Crazy Girl was already looking forward to the task at hand…
After what felt like hours to the contestants (in actuality only a few short minutes), they could see the island of Wawanakwa slowly appear in the horizon. The intern quickly docked up as best she could, and Chef began to lead the thirteen contestants onto the Dock of Shame.
Chris was looking into a pair of binoculars, glancing around the campgrounds in order to see if the interns there were doing their jobs of keeping the three finalists distracted, when he was satisfied with their job, he put them away, stepping off the boat himself in order to address the eliminated contestants once they had gotten used to their surroundings once more.
"Alright Ex-Campers, we're going to quickly head over towards where the challenge will be held, there will be stands provided for you all to sit and spectate whilst the challenge is going on, however we're going to need you all for a special surprise first of all."
"Special surprise? Wait, what did we win?" Zee asked, confused.
"Not for you Zee… For the final three…" Chris responded, looking quite annoyed.
"Ohhh… Right. I got you." Zee chuckled before taking a drink from his soda.
"Well Zee's obliviousness aside, we just want to film a scene for you guys to be reintroduced when the challenge is being explained, we'll let you know more about that when it actually starts. For now, our intern over here will guide you to where you guys will be waiting." Chris explained, gesturing to the female intern who was standing anxiously to the side.
"R-Right… Um, follow me everyone…" She stuttered, mainly gesturing towards the smiling Caleb as she began to walk towards the location that Chris had explained to take the contestants to for the challenge, all thirteen eliminated contestants quickly following suit.
When they disappeared into the forest, knowing that the coast was clear now, Chef radioed in to the other interns that were watching Priya, Millie and Bowie, telling them that their work was done and to prepare for the final challenge. He nodded towards Chris when that was done, the host preparing to head to the challenge area himself, speaker in hand to address the contestants via the intercoms around the campgrounds.
As they started to head towards the area where they'd wait for the three, Chris activated the intercoms. "Challenge time Campers!" He shouted into the speaker, laughing maniacally in the process as Chef rolled his eyes. They waited for the trio to walk out into the open, a dishevelled Millie walking out from the Trout cabin, and Priya and Bowie both being shoved out of the doors to the Mess Hall.
"If you three would just follow us for a moment, we'll take you to where the final challenge will take place." Chris grinned at his finalists, the five walking off in a slightly different direction to the eliminated contestants.
After a few moments of the Campgrounds being completely deserted, Izzy climbed up onto the Dock of Shame, after taking a couple moments to shake off as much of the water as she possibly could, she grinned happily.
Step Two of the plan was completed, now to see if she could find the old footage that Chris should have kept somewhere around the island…
End Chapter
Author's Note: So yeah, Izzy's gone to Camp Wawanakwa with the reboot cast whilst the older cast remains at the Playa Des Losers to watch the episode. Next chapter will probably take a little longer to come out since I'll need to do both perspectives side by side, but it should mean that the next two chapters come out relatively close to one another.
On a side note this fic has hit 100k words on FF! A milestone I'm honestly surprised I was able to hit if I'm honest with myself…
