Author's Note:

This epilogue is all about Luna! We will see her sporadically later on, but this is her story.

Reviews and Comments: To marauders_mowopapr: All of the epilogues are going to be a lot lol. Yes, the puppies and the teasing about them having babies before their announcement was fun. I love Harry being the husbands of a famous Quidditch player as opposed to Ginny being the wife of the Chosen One, so much more fun lol. It is true, team boy is better! Thank you very much! To CorbanD17: Thanks for loving that chapter! I'm glad I was able to keep you on your toes for the stalking portions of the chapter lol. Thank you! To Yeyel27: Thank you for saying I "truly give it all" even in the epilogue! I hope you enjoy the other ones as much. Thank you! To briana_t: Yes, the both got each other a puppy! Them announcing it to their families was fun. Thank you for saying I gave the stalker the right amount of creeper vibes (I had some awesome help from celtics534 with that). You thought it was the photographer from the wedding boutique? I'm so glad I kept people on their toes! Thank you very much! To Chafmushiman: Ha, I can't not promise non stressful epilogues as life has to be interesting lol. Ginny making people think she's pregnant and then the opposite when she is is just such a Ginny vibe, I couldn't resist. You'll find out what Ron needed help with in the Romione epilogue in chapter 34! Thank you! To corneliastreet_28: Thank you! I'm sorry I had your heart beating so fast. I love how much Harry and Ginny both understand and compliment each other. They are the best when they are together. Yes, the stalker has been taken care of, though we will see a bit a mention of it in chapter 35. Thank you!

To AQuickRead91: Congratulations on handing in your last uni assignment! I'm happy the puppies as children had you in stitches lol. Thank you! To Lizzy_i19: Harry and Ginny did enjoy making their mothers suffer a bit lol. I thought it was time for Harry to get another dog and how cute that he also got one for Ginny. Thank you! I thought it was super cute for Molly to have seven granddaughters after Ginny was the first Weasley girl in seven generations. Yes, Eman is a son of a bitch! He will definitely be in Azkaban for a while. Thank you you very much! To Mrs_Norway: You're welcome! I forgot it was Thanksgiving weekend so it was for me too lol. Thank you for saying "the last part with the letters and the stalker was so well written." I'm glad I could make you feel the angst the whole time. Thank you! To Maari: LOL, Remus as a super sniffer made me snort. Well, epilogues are going to be mostly calm, so that counts lol. Ha, your personal head canon is that Theo will never close his Floo is probably accurate lol. Thank you! To MotherofKatie: Thank you very much! To katelyn453: I love that Harry and Ginny both gave each other puppies lol. Yes, the stalker was caught! Thank you very much! To bandhoez9194: Thank you so much for saying "this entire chapter was so good omg the way they messed with their families lmao Remus being thrown under the bus was so good." Yes, poor Remus. lol. Glad I surprised you with Hutchins! Thank you very much! To DreamofAutumn: Thank you! I'm happy to hear I had so many people on the edge of their seat and I really hope you enjoy the rest of the epilogues as well. Thank you!

To OH MIA MYA: You're welcome for not leaving a cliffhanger lol. I did consider it.😉 Thank you! To Cassiopeia Anastasia Black: Thank you! To alix33: Ha, yes, two new doggies! Eggsy and Bucky went to Barbados with Harry and Ginny. Remus is 100% smoking hot and he has no idea. Thank you very much! To akshutalankar: You think I should write a crime thriller novel? Thank you for that compliment lol. I'm glad you think my twists are terrific and yes, I absolutely wanted Ginny to fight Hutchins herself. She's no damsel! Thank you very much! To riddermark: I hope a good tense lol. Thank you! To Finnspa23: Thank you! I hope you enjoy what's to come. To TW: Thank you! To Briar Potter: Happy Birthday December 7th! No special reason. It's my youngest brother's birthday and my grandparents anniversary so I figured why not lol. Thank you! To orange-niffler41: Thank you for taking the time to post a review for the first time. I'm so happy to hear that you've enjoyed all three stories in my Kismet trilogy. I love knowing people love my Hinny and how they finally got the wedding and happily ever after they deserve. Yes, definitely a big time difference from Canada to Japan, but thank you so much for taking the time to read every week! Thank you!

To Nuno Neves: I'm happy to know I could surprise you with action and drama. I know, we first met Harry and Ginny at age four and five together and now they are married and having their first baby — hard to believe! I'm excited to share the Romione epilogue as well and hope everyone loves how it comes together. Hutchins was obsessed and needed to be stopped and I loved having Ginny handle herself and Theo there to help which I think all comes full circle as it was Theo and Ginny together who were kidnapped way back in Harry's fifth year. Thank you very much! To Zeerius fangirl: I love that you have a good idea for a fic, but sorry, I'm not a beta. If you send me the link to your story, I'd be happy to read it when I have a chance, but honestly I haven't been reading any fanfiction at all in probably two years. Between writing and doing my own stuff, I just don't have the time. But I hope you do write it! Don't give up and please write what you want! Thank you very much for reading! To Potterhead29: Ha, I love that you were scrolling a gazillion miles per hour when the creepy notes started pouring in. I know, I'm sad the story is coming to an end as well. I don't have any plans of writing anything more in the near future as I honestly need a break, but I will never say never. Who knows what the future will bring? Thank you very much! To I'm a Ravenclaw: Sirius and Zee are doing surprisingly well. Fanfiction has definitely been acting up so I'm not surprised and thank you very much!

To The cat with blue eyes: Happy to keep you on your toes! Thank you very much! To EnigmaticEmperor: Yes, the puppies are so cute! I love Ginny coming up with ridiculous names lol. Molly and Zee were definitely very disappointed haha. Yes, I chose Buccaneer because it does tie in with Marauder. No Quintus Potter, promise lol. There will not be a Remadora epilogue chapter but we will see and catch up with them sporadically. That is very accurate, Minnie and Lady Godiva were the only cats Sirius liked haha. Yes, Jin and Padma are together, thank you for liking them. No, Higgins and Paddington did not get together before the epilogue; it happened in the in-between. Happy to keep you on your toes with the creepy letters. Harry is 100% going to blame himself and we'll see more of that in chapter 35. Thank you very much! To Elora Donovan: I'm happy you found it too, though really following is easier lol. I don't plan on writing a next generation series, but we will see some of that in the epilogues (glimpses). But who knows what the future will bring. I personally hate it when authors post sporadically so I try not to do that. Thank you very much! To vampireprincess141: Thank you! Yes, the stalker was caught. Thanks for loving my Kismet trilogy. Thank you! To George R: The drama does not let up lol. Auror checks do their best but sometimes creepy people end up in jobs no matter how hard you try to weed them out. Thank you very much!

My posting schedule: Weekly.

As always, thank you very much for reading and please, please review!

Your reviews give me life! They give me inspiration! And they make me want to keep writing for more than just myself! Thank you for all of your continued support!

CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO:
Kismet Trilogy Epilogues:
The One With Luna's Epilogue

May 2000…

Rolf was sitting with his toes in the sand, making notes in the journal he habitually carried. After an early morning swim in the warmth of the ocean, he sat on a towel in nothing but his white cotton shorts as he wrote on his knees, his toes squished in the warm sand. The Corsician beach of Palombaggia was completely deserted at this time of day and he was enjoying the solitude of his early morning. There was nothing he enjoyed more on his adventures than getting up early to catch a sunrise or to see a sunset, especially when he could get a swim in. He put his journal down to reach for his camera, admiring the beauty that surrounded him as the sky began to lighten for the day.

He'd snapped about ten photos of the sun coming up over the water when he saw her.

At first he thought she was a mirage of some kind, for nothing so beautiful could actually be real. She came out of the water like a fairy tale. Wet hair a pale dirty blonde tumbling down her back, brushing just past her backside over pale unblemished skin. He swallowed, moving to his knees, unable to look away from the vision before him. She was completely naked, skin glistening from the salt water. Her full breasts mostly covered by her wet hair, but pale pink peaks escaped the tresses. She wrung the water out of her hair and for the first time he noticed that she had a wand tucked behind her ear where bright purple radishes dangled at her lobes. The sight jolted him back to reality.

She was a witch.

The woman walked over the sand and came straight up to him, making him blink in surprise. She wasn't just any witch. She was the mystery woman — his mystery woman.

The girl he'd seen turn into a rabbit to kick a Death Eater in the face.

The girl who'd ridden a Thestral at the Battle of Hogwarts.

The girl whose name he'd never learned.

She was here.

She was real.

And she was standing in front of him completely starkers.

"Hallo."

Rolf opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. He must have stared at her a little too long with his mouth open like a wanker because she tilted her head, an amused smile on her face.

"Did the Wrackspurts find you?" she asked, her voice soft and almost dreamy.

Rolf swallowed before he stood up, finally finding his own voice at the sound of hers. "Yes. I mean, no, I mean — what are Wrackspurts?"

"A Wrackspurt… they're invisible. They float in through your ears and make your brain go fuzzy. I thought I felt one zoom past me when I approached you. Can I borrow this?" She picked up his light blue shirt from the towel on the sand, carefully slipping into it and buttoning it down the front, covering her magnificent body before she smiled dreamily up at him. "Thank you. Your kindness is much appreciated."

She turned to go and Rolf found his voice.

"Wait!"

The witch turned, wide blue eyes staring back at him. "Yes?"

"Where did you come from?"

The witch's blue eyes twinkled. "The sea of course. Where did you come from?"

Rolf's lips curved. "England mostly."

The witch chuckled. "I'm Luna."

"Rolf," he said, offering his hand.

She shook it and smiled at him. "I'm a Naturalist."

"I'll say," he said, his eyes moving over her body. His short-sleeved button-down shirt was much too big for her tiny frame, but he got a little thrill at seeing her wear it. "Freelance?"

Luna shrugged. "Mostly. I was examining the coralline algae with the help of a mermaid named Calla. Sometimes I do work out of Britain."

"Department of Reconstruction and Cooperation with Magical Creatures?"

Her smile blossomed and Rolf thought that she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen in his life. "Yes. Are you a wizard?"

"Guilty. I'm a Magizoologist as well for England's DRCMC."

Luna nodded. "This is a small world, then. It was lovely to meet you, Rolf of England's DRCMC. If you'll excuse me, I have some things that I need to put together for my report on coralline algae. Perhaps we'll meet again."

Rolf reached out to take her hand, desperate not to lose sight of her again. "We've met before; sort of unofficially," he said.

"Have we?" Luna asked, frowning. "I'm afraid I don't remember."

"Well, we didn't meet exactly, but I saw you. I mean, I've seen you before. I've watched you. Bloody hell, not like that! I mean, I've watched you from afar. I mean — bloody hell!" he exclaimed, burying his face in his hands.

Luna's lips curved. "You haven't been watching me then?"

"No, of course not!" Rolf said, quickly, his cheeks heating as he looked back at her. "I'm not some sort of stalker or anything and oh, Helga help me, I'm making it worse!"

Luna's eyes danced in amusement. "A little bit, yeah."

Rolf let out a slow breath. "Let me start over. I… I've seen you around before. In England, that is. You… I wanted to meet you after I saw you change into a hare and kick a Death Eater in the face. I think you're brilliant."

Luna smiled. "Thank you. I suppose being that there was a Death Eater in that sentence that introducing yourself at that moment wasn't an option?"

"Unfortunately not," Rolf said. "Have breakfast with me."

Luna's blue eyes met his. "Why?"

"Because I'm afraid that when you walk away you'll disappear like you never were. Because I thought I would never see you again; never learn your name. And because I want to know everything about a Naturalist who steps naked from the ocean in the morning sun with nothing but her wand tucked behind her ear."

Luna tilted her head to look up at him. "Do you?"

"Yes," he whispered, his eyes on hers. "I watched you fly on the back of a Thestral at the Battle of Hogwarts and I knew that I had to meet you."

Luna blinked. "Perhaps fate thought it wasn't time for us to meet then either."

Rolf reached out to touch her hand. "I'm hoping that the third times the charm: Have breakfast with me, Luna the Naturalist Who Walks Naked From the Sea in the Sunset."

Her blue eyes blinked at him before her lips curved slightly. "I'm rather fond of blueberry crêpes."

Rolf grinned, his heart racing in his chest. "I know the perfect place then."

"One hour?"

Rolf nodded, a soft smile on his face. "One hour. You'll meet me here?"

She smiled. "One hour and I'll bring you back your shirt."

He watched her walk barefoot across the sand in nothing but his shirt and he couldn't help but wonder if she had truly been real. He rubbed a hand over his naked chest and grinned.

He'd never been looking forward to a breakfast more.

~ KE: Luna ~

Luna finished working on her report before she changed out of the shirt she borrowed into a light blue sundress. She braided her thick, damp hair into a fishtail on her left and tucked a dozen matthiola tricuspidata flowers through the braid, humming under her breath. She was looking forward to breakfast with the man she'd met on the beach and was especially interested in the fact that he seemed to know her, even if only from a distance.

The way he'd stuttered over trying to explain himself had been incredibly adorable. He'd seen her from a distance, but hadn't been given the opportunity to meet her. She was intrigued by this and wondered why they would meet now and not then.

Rolf had kind eyes and a sweet smile and she'd been drawn to him in a way that she rarely was to most people. People often thought she was weird or too literal and those that took the time to bother to look closer were the people she really wanted to get to know. She draped his shirt over her shoulders before she headed back to the beach to meet up with the magizoologist.

She saw him waiting for her and her lips curved as she took in his tall, lean form. She remembered that he'd been very fit when she'd saw him earlier without his shirt. He obviously took care of himself and now he was wearing navy shorts and a white tee shirt with a pocket over his breast. His light brown hair was a bit thicker and wavy on the top and was moving in the soft breeze coming from the ocean. When his eyes found hers, she stared into them, admiring the darkness of them. They were like looking at fire in water and she found them absolutely fascinating. When she got closer, she noticed that he had a handful of freckles across his cheeks and nose. She thought they were charming.

"Hi," Rolf said, smiling warmly at her when she approached.

"Hi," Luna said back. "Thank you for the shirt."

"It was my pleasure," Rolf said, taking it from her. "It looked better on you." Rolf held his hand out to her. "Shall we?"

Luna accepted his hand and nodded. They walked in comfortable silence along the beach for a few minutes before Rolf gestured to the small beachside café. It was only a few moments before they were seated and a waiter came to bring them orange juice.

"They have delicious crêpes here," Rolf told her. "Blueberry you said, right?"

"I did," Luna said, surprised that he'd remembered.

She did order the crêpes and he ordered chocolate chip ones, both covered in fruit. When the waiter left, Rolf's eyes found hers.

"So, what were you hoping to discover about coralline algae in the ocean so early in the morning?"

Luna smiled, surprised again that he'd remembered what she'd been studying. People rarely listened to her when she spoke. In fact, usually people just stared at her with dumbfounded expressions as if everything she told them had been complete rubbish.

"I want to learn more about it. The Merpeople use it often as building material because it often has a hard thallus which contains calcareous deposits within the cell walls. It comes in many different colours, making it perfect to build their underwater cities in colourful ways. However, they often use magic to seal it because sea urchins, parrot fish, limpets, and chitons are only some of the ecological beings that often feed on it."

"Fascinating," Rolf said, resting his chin on his hand. "And what did you discover about it?"

"Well, I discovered that they fossilize fairly well and that the coralline rock has been used by not only Merpeople under the sea, but the very same substance was used as building stones in ancient Greece."

"The ancient Greeks were quite ingenious in that way. And what about the flowers in your hair? It looks like the three-horned stock to me."

"Good eye," Luna said. It seemed that Rolf was continuously surprising her. "I found it growing in the sand on the other side of the beach. It's extremely rare. I dug some up to send to a herbologist friend of mine in England and I had a few extra on hand."

"It looks beautiful in your hair."

"Thank you," Luna said as their food arrived.

She took her first bite and closed her eyes in pleasure.

"Oh, this is wonderful!"

"Told you," he teased, digging into his own food. "So, are you studying anything else other than coralline algae while you're here?"

Luna told him about her studies of algae and various types of underwater plants along the coast. "I'm mostly doing research for the Ministry. For my own interest more than anything, but I'm working on a paper about underwater plant life and if it's possible to grow it here on the surface and sustain it. Speaking with the Merpeople, I'm also studying different types of plants and algae that might be used as healing tools. That's my freelance bit, mostly. The Ministry wants me to bring back some of the types of plants I find in the meantime, that's what they pay me the few Knuts and Sickles for."

Rolf snorted. "I can understand that. I do freelance mostly as well, though I am hired officially as a travelling magizoologist and magizoohealer. I help with magical creatures I find in England, returning them to to their rightful homes, and working with different reserves and Ministries worldwide. I'm also a photographer and often sell my photos of magical creature life. I love it."

"I haven't been to many reserves," Luna told him. "But I did spend six months studying on the reserve in New Zealand last year after writing my PLANTs for the Ministry.

Rolf's eyes lit up. "I've worked there plenty of times! I usually coordinate with Anja Baranov or Roberta Simms."

"Yes, I've worked with both of them," Luna replied. "I studied the plant life and agriculture of the vegetative food eaten by the animals and magical creatures."

"Fascinating. It's beautiful there, isn't it?"

A tiny green head appeared out of the small breast pocket of Rolf's shirt and Luna's eyes widened in surprise when he disappeared again.

"Erm, sorry, but you have something in your shirt."

"Something in my — oh!" Rolf said with a laugh. "That's just Ash." He reached into his pocket and pulled out the little bowtruckle with a smile. "Ash, this is Luna. Luna, meet Ash."

Ash waved at her in greeting and she was immediately charmed.

"He's been hanging out with me since I was twelve," Rolf told her. "He doesn't like to stay with his friends and family. My grandfather says that this is how he can keep an eye on me."

Ash nodded as if he agreed with this and then hopped down into Luna's hand.

"Well, hello there," she said with a smile.

Ash gave a little bow and Rolf snorted.

"Show-off."

Ash stuck his tongue out at Rolf in response.

"He's very sweet," Luna told him.

"Yeah, he is," Rolf agreed. "He's also a bit of a troublemaker."

Ash blew a raspberry at him and Luna laughed.

"He's charming."

Rolf rested his cheek on his hand. "So are you."

Luna blushed and bit her bottom lip. "How long are you here in Corsica, Rolf the Magizoologist, Magizoohealer, and Photographer?"

"Scamander," he said, his lips curving. "My name is Rolf Scamander."

"Luna Lovegood," she said, smiling back at him. "I'm here until Friday."

Rolf's face brightened. "So am I."

The waiter returned to offer them more juice or coffee and Luna kept her eyes on Rolf as Ash settled in her hand. Maybe it really was meant to be for them to meet here and now, she thought.

"Will you come for a walk on the beach with me?" Rolf asked.

"Yes," Luna said, giving Ash back to him. "Yes, I will."

~ KE: Luna ~

Rolf felt like he was in a dream. It was the only way that he could explain his state of complete bliss and wistfulness that was spending the last three days with Luna Lovegood. Yes, she was beautiful, but finding a beautiful woman who didn't bore him after a conversation was harder than one would think. But Luna was both engaging and intelligent; she had a quick wit that left him smiling hours after leaving her.

They'd spent almost every hour together since he'd convinced her to have breakfast with him. Long walks on the beach as they talked about what seemed like everything. They built a giant sandcastle and found a nest of baby turtles that together they took photos of and helped back to their mum. She talked about plants and flowers and about some of the adventures she'd been on with her dad from searching for a jarvey to hiking through Africa. She wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty and when Ash hopped out of his pocket to sit on her shoulder or rest on her leg, she gently stroked his head with her finger like it was the most natural thing in the world.

She was engaging about his own work and fascinated with the idea that he travelled around with a magical case of creatures almost all of the time.

"It was my grandfather's," Rolf told her on the second day. "He gifted it to me when I finished Hogwarts and I told him what I wanted to do."

"And you help all magical creatures?"

"Yes," Rolf told her. "All creatures deserve a chance to be healed and taken care of. I love it."

She listened when he told her about his healing process in getting an animal to trust him and how he brought them back to their homes. She asked intelligent questions. She was witty and sweet and at the end of their second day together, he went to bid her goodbye and she touched his arm.

"Aren't you going to kiss me?"

"What?" Rolf exclaimed, his eyes widening.

"Do you want to kiss me?" Luna asked.

"Very much, yes," Rolf said, blushing. "May I?"

Luna's lips curved. "All right then."

Rolf felt awkward and stupid when he approached her. It was like he forgot how to use his feet and what in bleeding hell was he supposed to do with his hands? But he carefully placed his fingers on her chin and tilted her head up before he carefully lowered his mouth to hers. He swore it was like a switch flipped in his brain the moment their lips met; suddenly everything just made sense.

All at once he didn't feel awkward. His hands slid into her soft blonde hair and the feel of her lips moving under his was everything. She tasted sweet and smelt like ocean salt and fresh fruit and her lips were warm and perfect. When he pulled back, it was with reluctance and he brushed his thumb over her bottom lip, plumping it more.

"Can I see you again tomorrow, Luna?"

"Yes," she whispered. "I'd like that."

Rolf stepped back from her before he did something stupid like beg her to let him into her hotel room.

"Goodnight, Luna."

Then he turned and left her at her door with a bounce in his step.

~ KE: Luna ~

Luna was fascinated with Rolf. He made her smile, he made her laugh, and he never made her feel weird or loony. He actually liked to listen to her talk and after that soft kiss outside of her door, she very much wanted to see him again. And she very much wanted to kiss him again.

She grabbed her communication mirror and said Ginny's name into it. It took a moment, but when her friend answered, her hair was tousled.

"Luna, hi!"

"Hello, Ginny," Luna said with a smile. "Sorry, it's kind of late. I'm not interrupting?"

"Not at all," Ginny said as Harry muttered something in the background. "One moment."

A moment later, Luna could see that Ginny was situated in a comfortable chair on the balcony of their master bedroom in Clevedon Court.

"Sorry about that. I didn't want to wake Harry. How are you? How's Corsica? It is Corsica, right?"

"Yes," Luna said. "Still here and I'm having a lovely time. I met someone."

"Oh?"

"He's kind and handsome. He just kissed me and it was… perfect."

"Hands?"

"He held my chin and then they moved into my hair."

"Oh, very nice!" Ginny said with a bright smile. "When did you meet him? How?"

"Two days ago," Luna told her. "On the beach. We've been spending every waking moment together since then and I'm seeing him again tomorrow."

"That's great news. It's lovely to see you smile!"

"Ginny… I haven't had a kiss like this one before. It was like my lips tingled and my heart pounded and it was… I felt it in my whole body."

Ginny's smile widened in the mirror. "Well, that's definitely a good start."

Luna bit her bottom lip. "Is that how it feels when you kiss Harry?"

Ginny nodded. "Like I'm lit up from the inside out? Yes. Even when he just pecks me on the lips, I feel it all over. It's like… I'm drawn to him like a moth to a flame."

"My first kiss was with Neville and it was lovely of course, but it was just our lips meeting. Snogging is just… well, lips meeting," Luna said. "Justin was lovely and he did this sucking thing on my tongue that I rather liked, but I've never had tingles from a kiss before."

"Never?" Ginny asked, her brown eyes widening in surprise.

Luna shook her head. "Never. Channing was nice enough and we shagged of course, which I liked, but… I don't know. It was nothing special."

"And this someone is special?"

"I don't know," Luna admitted. "But he gave me tingles from one kiss, Ginny."

Ginny's smile widened. "Good. You deserve the tingles, Luna. Don't overthink it. Just have fun, all right?"

"I will do my best," Luna said. "I'm going to snog him again tomorrow and see. Maybe it was just a fluke or something. I mean, you know that Channing was… never mind."

"No," Ginny said, frowning. "Tell me, Luna. Channing was what?"

"It's nothing," Luna said, shaking her head. "You're busy planning a wedding."

"And I always have time for my friends," Ginny said. "Tell me."

Luna sighed and settled herself down onto her bed. "Well, it's just… kissing and sex and all of that has been enjoyable for me, but I've never really felt anything from it before. I mean, I've felt pleasure of course, though usually that's because I have to do it myself."

"You said Channing was good with his fingers," Ginny said.

"He was," Luna said carefully. "He just… wasn't good at taking me all the way there. He'd get tired. Apparently, I take too long to get there."

"What a wanker," Ginny replied. "How come you never told me that before?"

Luna shrugged. "I always enjoyed myself. He'd get me close enough that we'd shag and it would be good. I'd just finish myself off later is all."

Ginny frowned. "Has that always been a problem for you?"

"Yes," Luna admitted. "I don't mind. I actually got myself a toy to help, but that's not why I called. I… when we kissed, Ginny, when I got those tingles… they were everywhere. I mean, I felt it… my belly fluttered and I was hot and even my toes tingled… no one's ever kissed me like that before."

"Well, it's about time someone does then. What's his name?"

Luna smiled, a dreamy look on her face. "Not yet. I… I don't want to jinx it."

"All right," Ginny said, her eyes twinkling. "Will you bring him to the wedding?"

"I'll keep you posted."

"Deal," Ginny said.

When her friend's face disappeared from the mirror, Luna leaned back against her pillows and stared up at the ceiling with a big smile on her face. She reimagined the kiss, remembering how gentle his hands had been in her hair in contrast to the way his lips pressed against hers. The way his tongue had danced with hers ever so softly; a tease. It had been just enough to make her wonder, to make her want.

Luna reached down to rub her breast, kneading her nipple without thinking and grinned to herself.

She couldn't wait to see him (and hopefully kiss him) again tomorrow.

~ KE: Luna ~

On the fourth day, Rolf and Luna had their own jobs to do but agreed to meet for dinner. Luna was surprised to find herself annoyed with her work because it was interfering with more time that she could be spending with Rolf. She wanted to know everything about him.

He was sweet and a little shy. He made her laugh and when she talked about a story she read about Cornish pixies, he'd grinned.

"I loved that article!" Rolf exclaimed. "All right, don't laugh, but there's this magazine in England called The Quibbler that always writes the most outlandish articles. Have you heard of it? Not important — anyway, I read that article about these rogue Cornish pixies and how they were living in people's cupboards and sugar bins and causing mischief. The author said that was ridiculous and if you found a Cornish pixie in your house it's because Minister Jones is secretly spying on you. That there's no other use for them and that Cornish pixies are not house pixies in any way therefore they must be spies."

Luna's lips curved. "You don't think that they might have actually been spies sent from the Minister of Magic?"

"No," Rolf said. "The Quibbler writes… I don't want to say rubbish because than I have to admit to loving rubbish, but it's always… imaginative. I like the articles because they're different. They make you think about things in a whole other way. They make you wonder about the unknown. As a magizoologist and magizoohealer, I am pretty sure that things like Nargles don't exist, but if I've never see one, how can I know for sure? I like that kind of stuff."

"The Quibbler kind of stuff?" Luna asked.

Rolf nodded, his cheeks flushing and making the freckles on his nose seem more prominent. "Erm, yeah. Go ahead, laugh."

"I'm not laughing," Luna said.

She reached into her purse and pulled out the latest copy, lying it flat on their table and Rolf's eyes widened almost comically.

"You read it?"

"I do," she said.

"Is that the latest one? I started reading the article this morning from last month's about the polar bear with red spots that was supposedly terrorizing a town in Devon. It turned out to be a spell gone wrong and I thought well yes, as when did polar bears get to England?"

"You've really read it?" Luna asked, staring at him in surprise.

All of her life people teased her for reading the Quibbler. They called her loony and her dad a quack. They claimed that the articles were all lies. Even the boys she dated in the past had made snide comments about it.

"Of course! Why would I lie about reading it? My grandfather loves it too! We used to do the crosswords together when I was a kid," he said. "Now I do them on my own and then call him to see if he got them all. The old man always beats me. He's too smart for his own good."

Luna's mouth was dry. She licked her lips before she reached for her water on the table to take a sip. "Do you remember the article about the flying raccoon?"

"I loved that one," Rolf exclaimed on a laugh. "When he broke into that woman's house and stole her teapot and she claimed that he was the newest bandit society had to watch out for. Ooh, do you remember the one with the band Charmed? How the reason they disbanded was because the one member, I can't think of her name, wanted to become an astronomer instead?"

Luna smiled slowly. "Yes. I've read all of them."

"Really? Me too. Well, not all. Only the ones since I was about five or six. Grandpa and I would read them cover to cover together and then do the crosswords together. I haven't finished the newest issue yet. I've barely had time to open it. How did you get hooked on it?"

"My dad," Luna whispered. "He's… the editor."

"Of the Quibbler?" Rolf asked, his eyes widening. "Oh Helga, I didn't mean to say that it was rubbish. I love it, truly!"

"I can see that," Luna said. "Thank you for not making fun of me for it."

"Making fun of you… no, why have people done that?"

"A few," Luna admitted. "But I have one particular good friend who always put them in their place. He's a bit overprotective."

"I like knowing someone's been there to to tell people it's not all right, but as someone who's seen you kicking arse, they probably shouldn't mess with you either."

She chuckled. "Maybe not."

He walked her back to her hotel room, linking his fingers with hers as they stood outside of her door. It was Luna who moved this time, standing on her toes to kiss him and Rolf walked her back against the door, pinning his knee between her legs.

She tingled. Merlin, her whole body lit up when he kissed her. It was like she came alive in ways she'd never done before and she wanted to feel more of it. He had one hand on her hip while his mouth met hers, the other was in her hair, pulling her closer as his tongue teased hers. She felt every stroke of his tongue right down to her toes.

Luna slid her hands down his back, brushing her lips over his as she chewed her bottom lip. "Do you want to come in?"

Rolf's dark eyes almost smouldered at her. "Erm, yes, very much."

Luna unlocked her door and took his hand, leading him into the room. The door barely closed behind them before Rolf pulled her back into his arms and kissed her senseless again.

And senseless was exactly what it was.

Luna had never been kissed like this before. He stopped her from thinking. He stopped her from everything. She wanted him more than she'd ever wanted another man before and it both thrilled and terrified her. He sucked on her bottom lip before he tore his mouth away from hers and licked his lips.

"Sorry, erm, I didn't mean to just pounce on you like that."

Luna's lips curved. "I kind of liked it."

"Oh," he said, blushing.

Luna reached out to tug him closer by his tee shirt. She loved the way his cheeks flushed red, right down his neck. "In fact, I think you should snog me again. A lot."

Then she pulled his shirt over his head.

Rolf gave her wolfish grin before he placed his hands on her hips and slowly walked her backwards. "I was trying to be a gentleman."

"I don't want a gentleman," Luna said. "I want you to shag me, Rolf Scamander."

Rolf's eyes danced down her body before his gaze met hers again. "Oh, I'm definitely going to do that."

Luna let her hands slide up Rolf's hard chest. He was very fit, she thought, circling his dark pink nipples with her nails and making his breath hitch. She noticed that he had some freckles on the tops of his shoulders and what looked like a scar of some kind on his left arm. She let her fingers dance over his chest, through the soft curly hair, moving lower to trace the defined muscles of his abdomen and bit her bottom lip again. She wanted to lick him all over.

Rolf placed his fingers on the hem of her shirt. "My turn."

She let him pull her shirt over her head and his eyes roamed over the bright blue bra. He trailed his fingers over her shoulders, down her arms to her wrists and then back up. He traced her bra straps and let his finger follow the path of the material to the swell of her breasts before dipping a finger between them.

"You're beautiful," he whispered.

Luna reached back and unhooked her bra, sliding if off and to the floor; in response. Rolf's hands immediately cupped her breasts, a look of awe on his face.

Luna knew that she had nice breasts. Colin complimented them every time they went swimming (as she liked to swim in the nude) and all of the boys she'd let see them had claimed they were luscious. They spilled over Rolf's hands just a bit when he touched them and she wondered briefly if Rolf thought her nipples were too big like Channing had.

"They're supposed to be the size of a thumbnail, Luna, not the size of a whole Galleon."

"That's my areola not my nipple."

Channing rolled his eyes. "Same difference. I'm just saying, they're unusually large. Kind of weird looking."

He always made a comment about it and she realized now that it had made her self conscious a bit. She hadn't been with anyone since Channing and standing here now with Rolf staring at her, she suddenly wondered if he thought the same thing. But Rolf didn't seem to mind, trailing his fingers over every bit of her and down her flat stomach.

"Gorgeous," he murmured before he lowered his head to kiss her breasts.

Luna slid her fingers into his light brown hair with a sigh as he kissed every inch of her breasts. Then he gave her a push and she fell back onto the soft duvet of the bed as he crawled over her, his lips meeting hers again and again.

He kissed like a dream. Softly and tenderly in a way that seemed to draw out every touch before his tongue met hers in a hungry fashion that surprised her. She ran her hands up and down his naked back, admiring the leanness of him as he began to undo her shorts. He shimmied them down her legs and off before his lips turned to her thighs. The closer he reached to her knickers, the hotter she became.

Merlin, she wanted to come. She thought about the toy she had in the drawer of the nightstand with a sigh. She'd use it after he left tonight, get herself off properly to thoughts of his kisses. Rolf's lips returned to hers for a quick kiss.

"This all right?" he asked, his hand sliding down to cup between her legs.

"Hmm?"

"You went somewhere up here," he said, tapping her forehead. "Am I doing something you don't like?"

"No," Luna said, surprised he'd noticed. "No, I'm sorry. I was just…" She let out a slow breath. "I want you."

Rolf kissed her quickly again as her hands went to his trousers, pushing them down. She was charmed by his black briefs with dancing nifflers on them.

"These are adorable," she teased, tracing them with her finger.

"I'm an adorable sort of bloke," Rolf replied, letting his lips fall to her neck.

More kisses followed as his fingers danced down her stomach and into her knickers, sliding through her in a teasing way that made her groan.

Merlin, she wanted this. She wanted the feel and the sensation of it more than anything. One finger slid into her and she whimpered.

"Mmm, so hot and wet," he whispered against her lips.

Rolf pushed his finger in deeper as he kissed and teased her nipple, licking and sucking her areola before taking her taut peak into his mouth in a way that was pulling pleasure from between her legs. When his finger left her, she wanted to moan in frustration. He chuckled, kissing his way down her belly before he hooked his thumbs into the blue cotton and tugged them down and off, tossing them behind him. He slid his hands up her thighs, eyes moving down her nakedness hungrily.

Rolf's finger moved back over her, taking in her nakedness with a look of reverence before he bent his head kissed her sex. She trembled. The only man who'd ever gone down on her had been Neville and she hardly counted him. He'd been her first time, her experiment. They'd learned together. Channing had only wanted to use his fingers and she'd been all right with that. But the feel of Rolf's soft kisses, teasing her… it was more than she'd expected.

"Rolf…"

He kissed her there again before he used his fingers to expose more of her. Then his tongue gave her a long languid lick and her hips rose off of the bed.

Rolf smiled. "Good girl."

Heat seared through her at his words, surprising her. But before she could think any more on it, his mouth was on her again, licking snd sucking. His fingers were teasing her and she could feel her orgasm slowly building. But like every time she'd ever let a man touch her intimately, she knew that he'd been down there a while and she still wasn't close enough.

"Come up here," she moaned, tugging on his hair.

Rolf lifted his head, his mouth swollen. "You haven't come yet."

Luna shook her head. "It takes me a while. Come up here. Get inside me."

Rolf frowned, pressing his thumb over her clit and rubbing in a counter clockwise motion. "Is there a hurry?"

"I…"

He kept working his thumb but he slid up to kiss her lips. "You said you wanted me to shag you. I will. But first I'm going to make you come for me."

"Rolf… I…"

"You what?" he whispered against her mouth.

"It's all right. Just shag me."

Rolf changed the direction with his thumb and her eyes crossed. "After you come for me."

Surprise shot through her. No one had ever bothered to make sure she finished first. In fact, nine times out of ten, she always finished herself off. She enjoyed sex and she was great at faking that finish the men wanted to hear because it did take her a while to get there. She needed time and attention that no one wanted to give her. Rolf settled back down between her thighs, using his fingers and tongue and when he did something with a combined motion that made her groan, he did it again.

"Oh, you like that, don't you?" he murmured. "Tell me what you like. Show me, Luna."

Luna hesitated half a second before she reached down to touch herself. Rolf watched in fascination, admiring each sweep of her fingers as if he was learning some great secret. Then he reached over the side of the bed and came up with his wand. He waved it and murmured, "Vibratio."

His wand made a humming sound and he made himself comfortable between her legs again, pushing her hand away. He placed his tongue against the bottom of her clit, licking it; then he touched the tip of his vibrating wand to the centre of her clit at the same time that he pushed two fingers back into her. The combination of all three had her crying out in surprise.

"Rolf!"

He didn't let up.

His tongue changed angles and his wand didn't falter as his fingers rocked in and out of her, curling and prodding. Luna groaned. Merlin, it felt so good. She let her hands find his hair and she pulled him closer. His fingers worked faster as he licked and sucked on her clit and Luna felt herself building towards something more, the vibration hitting her nerve endings like the perfect storm. Her hips began to move more aggressively to meet the pleasure, lifting up towards his mouth. Rolf added a third finger.

"Mmm," she moaned. "Yes… yes…"

Rolf kept up his motions, rolling his fingers in a circular motion counterclockwise that had her whole body tingling. He didn't seem to mind that he'd been down there a while and when his teeth brushed her bud before his tongue flicked it, her orgasm seemed to come out of nowhere. She screamed as she came, rocking her hips up into his face as Rolf continued to finger her, his mouth still humming around her clit and his wand still vibrating.

"Rolf," she murmured. "Rolf…"

He lifted his head to give her a rather wicked smile before he lowered his mouth back to her and kept licking. He danced his wand off of her clit, teasing it through her wetness and she gasped.

"Mmm," Rolf moaned. "You're even more beautiful when you come. Do you think you can come again for me, love?"

Luna's eyes widened in surprise. "Erm, don't you want to… you know?"

Rolf kissed her sex. "I hope to. But not yet."

He spread her open with his fingers again and then pushed his vibrating wand half an inch inside of her with a wicked grin.

Luna made an incoherent sound and Rolf grinned.

"Good girl." He leaned in to kiss her clit. "I'm having too much fun down here to rush things along just yet."

Then his fingers slid back into her at the same time that he sucked her clit, his vibrating wand teasing the edge of her before moving back up to join his mouth on her bud.

"Rolf," she gasped. "Oh… oh yes… oh, gods. Oh! Oh! Oh!"

It all became a blur of sensation after that. He increased the vibration on his wand, holding it against her clit while he sucked on the other side of it, three fingers curling as they moved in and out of her in a steady rhythm. He groaned against her and she gripped his hair for dear life, no longer able to think coherently as he brought her over again. She knew she'd screamed, but she couldn't contain herself.

Merlin, she thought. This was the first time a man had taken care of her properly. Rolf finally kissed his way up her stomach with a satisfied smile on his face.

"Good girl."

Luna practically preened under the praise. She had no idea two words could make her feel so much. She gave Rolf a shove, pinning him to the bed before she crawled over him.

"Are you trying to kill me, Rolf Scamander?"

"No," he said, his shy smile returning. "I was enjoying myself."

Luna could feel how hard he was beneath her and she slid her hands down his chest, straddling him as she slowly pulled his niffler briefs down his legs, revealing him. He was rock hard and leaking. She licked her lips at the sight of him and thought he was beautiful. Lean and long just like his body with a sharp curve to the right that she liked the look of. She couldn't resist lowering her head for a quick taste. She licked his girth and he groaned.

"I'm not going to last long if you keep that up, Luna," he warned.

Luna licked him again before she moved to straddle him. Rolf, his wand still in his hand, did the contraception charm and Luna lowered herself on top of him, taking him all the way inside of her in one motion. They both groaned.

"Bloody hell, you're perfect, Luna Lovegood," Rolf gasped. "Absolutely bloody perfect."

Luna thought the exact same thing. The curve of him was hitting her just right. It didn't take any fancy movements or changes of position for him to be where she needed him to be and when she lifted off of him and slammed back down, they were both moaning.

And then Rolf put his wand between them.

He held it to her clit, vibrating with intensity; the dual sensation of riding him and his wand was everything she'd never knew she needed. She picked up speed as Rolf's hips met hers and she shocked herself by coming a third time half a second before he lost it himself. She collapsed against his chest, her heart pounding, brushing her damp hair out of her eyes.

Rolf's hands gently glided up her back and down to cup her bottom before moving back up her spine in a steady rhythm. She could feel his heart pounding beneath her and she smiled, kissing his chest where the soft light brown curls were.

"Would it make me a total tosser if I said wow?"

Luna chuckled against his chest, turning her head to nuzzle his neck. "I don't think wow does that justice."

Rolf rolled them so that they were lying on their sides, holding Luna close. "You're incredible. That was incredible."

"I… thank you."

Rolf lifted an eyebrow. "Any one who's ever taken you to bed and hasn't bothered to take the time to make sure you finish… they were arseholes."

Luna smiled, suddenly feeling shy. "It's not that they… it takes me a while to get there is all."

Rolf brushed her hair behind her ear, a tender look on his face. "I don't care if it takes all bloody day. I'd be happy to keep trying."

She blushed. "I came three times."

"Good girl."

Her cheeks heated even more and Rolf grinned.

"Oh, you like that, don't you?" He kissed her forehead. "Luna, I want to spend our next few days together showing you exactly what happens when you're a good girl."

Desire pooled in her gut at his words and she bit her bottom lip. "I'd like that."

Rolf captured her mouth for a deep kiss. "Me too. Very much."

Luna slid her hand down his bicep, to his elbow and then gripped his hand in hers. "Let's go clean up in the shower. I can show you how good I am on my knees."

Rolf's eyes heated as he followed her into the bathroom and into the shower. They kissed and washed each other thoroughly, Rolf paying special attention to her breasts and when she knelt down in the tub and kissed his hard cock, he let out a low moan.

"Oh, fuck yes."

Luna kept it up; small kisses and soft licks. She used her hand to pump him, loving how much he curved and told him as much. He was watching her dark eyes and she gave him a soft smile before she sucked him into her mouth. He groaned.

"Oh, yeah… oh, Helga help me you are too fucking good at that. Oh… bloody hell."

Luna enjoyed giving head. She always had. She liked exploring sex. She liked enjoying herself. She did. She'd had some truly great sex, but she already knew that this was different. Rolf was different.

She didn't have to put on a show for him. She didn't have to let him shag her like a wild man and enjoy every second until he finished and left her hanging. He didn't complain that she needed more attention to her clit, but instead had added his wand to the mix without hesitation.

She didn't have to fake it.

She sucked him down and moaned as she felt him coming apart and when he finished, the look in his eyes as he called her a good girl had her own body responding all over again.

She'd never come more than three times in a night before. In fact, her limit had been two and by herself with a toy before tonight, but as she swallowed Rolf greedily and her own body responded, she wondered if tonight they could break another record.

Rolf pulled her off of him when he became too sensitive and they kissed under the hot spray. They dried off and fell back into the bed and when Rolf settled himself back between her thighs, her eyes widened in surprise.

He kissed her there. "My turn."

And when he brought his wand back out, Luna did in fact come again and they fell into each other's arms after and went to sleep.

~ KE: Luna ~

Rolf was in pure nirvana. Luna was everything he hadn't realized he was missing. The last few days of sex had been… phenomenal. She was amazing and the sex was the best he'd ever had.

He didn't understand how anyone could complain that she took too long to get there. If he was honest, he loved that. It gave him more time to enjoy her, to taste her, to feel her building… it was incredible. And when Luna came, her blue eyes turned as dark as night, her big nipples tightened to peaks and the taste of her… Merlin, he had trouble not coming on that alone.

After their first night, where he'd made her come four times, thank you very much. He made it his business to keep her satisfied. She'd come at least twice every day since and when he woke this morning with her lying next to him, he had a sudden desire to taste her again.

The moans she made, the way she rode his tongue and fingers… oh yes, Luna was perfect.

And it wasn't just the sex.

That first morning after they'd woken up, she'd found Ash cowering in his shirt on the floor. Rolf admitted he'd forgotten about the little guy and hoped that they hadn't startled him too much with their activities. Luna merely scooped him up into her hand and kissed the top of his head. She laid him on her breast and Ash preened at her.

Rolf smiled. "Thanks for not minding Ash. He's special, you know?"

"He's great," Luna said, leaning in to kiss Rolf. "You're lucky to have him."

They spent the next few days working together as much as they could and their nights together were spent in bed, on the floor, on the desk, on the sofa, in the shower, against the door, and honestly everywhere and anywhere they could find. She was insatiable and Rolf couldn't get enough of her.

She rested her cheek against his chest that evening, playing with his chest hair.

"I have to leave in the morning."

"I know," Rolf said, kissing the top of her head. "Greece, right?"

Luna nodded. "I'm studying some more underwater plants and the Merpeople are letting me visit."

"It sounds amazing."

"And you're going back to England?"

Rolf nodded. "I have to check in with the Ministry and write up some reports, but… maybe I could meet you there in a few days?"

Luna sat up, her eyes widening. "You'd do that?"

"Luna," Rolf whispered. "I don't know what this is and I know it's way too soon to make assumptions but… I feel like I've been waiting for you. I'm not ready to end this yet."

"I don't want to end this yet either," Luna admitted. "Meet me in Greece, Rolf."

His grin widened. "Three days."

Then their lips met as Luna pushed Rolf back down onto the bed.

~ KE: Luna ~

When Luna arrived on Greece, she was excited. She was getting the opportunity to work with Princess Sapphira of the Merpeople. The mermaid princess was going to take her down under the sea to check out the nature below the surface of the ocean. She was beyond excited. Not a lot of people got this opportunity and she was thrilled to be one of them.

Becoming a Naturalist had made sense to her as she loved working with plants and magical creatures equally. As a Naturalist, she was able to explore nature as she wanted and the Ministry often assigned her places where she could do research. Luna was most interested in the research part. She rather liked being in the field and then writing about her finds. Her goal was to discover a type of underwater plant that could be grown above ground but so far, even with magic, there was nothing to sustain it and to let it flourish. Luna wanted to find a way to do so.

Being in Corsica and working with the Merpeople there had given her even more to think about than before. She made copious notes with questions and had even drawn a few sketches about what she'd seen under the water. When she found herself doodling the freckles across Rolf's nose, she sighed.

She missed him.

It was funny as she barely knew him. Seven days, that was as long as she'd known him and now without him by her side, she felt like something was missing.

He was intelligent and kind and when he kissed her, her world just righted itself in a way that she hadn't even realized was tilted. There was something about him that made her want more.

He'd sent her an owl letting her know that he would be arriving tomorrow and she was anxious to see him. Rolf would be working with a family of kelpies that were here off of the island of Lefkada. His eyes danced when he spoke about animals and she loved seeing the kindness there. He truly just wanted to help magical creatures; to make them safe from humans. It was incredibly sweet.

Luna found herself most curious about his case that he carried around. He'd told her that it had been given to him by his grandfather and that it held more than just sentimental value. She wanted to know more about it and more about what he meant by it. She was hoping to talk about it with him and about what this was that they were starting. As it was something, but Luna didn't know what.

Both of them had jobs that required travelling for a living so surely it wasn't going to work out for them to start something, but the thought of not starting something… no Luna, didn't like that idea at all.

She shook the thoughts from her head and focused back on her work. Rolf would be arriving on the island soon enough. Until then, she needed to keep her mind focused on her task.

But when Rolf met her on the beach the next day, Luna ran right into his arms, laughing when he picked her up and spun her around before he kissed her passionately.

"I missed you," she whispered.

Rolf beamed at her. "I missed you too." He kissed her again and then lowered her to the ground to take her hand. "How's it been going here? Did you meet with Princess Sapphira?"

Luna filled him in on her adventures below the water so far and he listened attentively. She'd been talking for almost thirty minutes before her mirror vibrated in her pocket, startling her. She pulled it out and smiled at the face of her father in the mirror. His eyes were a lighter blue than her own and his long white blond hair was pulled back into a plait at the back of his neck, pieces falling into his face. She tapped it with her finger and Xenophilius Lovegood's face became more clear.

"Hi, Daddy."

"Luna, my love, how's the island?"

"It's lovely, Daddy," Luna said, squeezing Rolf's hand. "I've met with Princess Sapphira and she took me down to the city yesterday afternoon."

"Is it true they ride jellyfish?" Xenophilius asked, looking pensive. "I can't quite envision it, but we have a marvellous idea for a new article about riding jellyfish. What do you think?"

"They don't ride jellyfish," Luna told him, her lips curving when he looked disappointed. "But they do have an octopus who runs the gate to the city. His name is Triton and you need his permission to get in."

"You spoke with him? He talks?"

"No," Luna said. "Not with words, but it's very clear that he communicates with the Merpeople. I'll send you copies of some of my sketches."

Xenophilius nodded. "I'd love that. I miss my lovely Lovebug, when will she be coming back home?"

"Probably not before the wedding, Daddy. I promise we'll get a few days together when I'm home."

"Good," he said. "Send me some of your sketches and tell me if you find any flying fish. I heard that the island of Lefkada is particularly known for flying goldfish."

"I'll keep my eye out," Luna promised.

"I love you, Luna."

"I love you too, Daddy," Luna said, blowing him a kiss. When he disappeared from the mirror, she tucked it away and then turned to Rolf. "Sorry, I haven't checked in with him in a few days. He worries."

Rolf nodded. "You're an only child, right? It makes sense that he would worry more when you're the only one for him to worry about. He seems like a very eccentric man. Flying goldfish?"

Luna chuckled. "We'll keep our eyes peeled. If we see any, Daddy will make sure The Quibbler gets the first report."

"Tell me about your dad," Rolf said with a warm smile. "How did he get involved with the Quibbler anyway?"

"Oh, well, Dad's always been a bit eccentric as you said. He loves to read wild stories and to try to find proof of things that no one else believes. He always said that imagination is the basis of sanity. I love him to death. We always went on trips together. The first time I came to Greece was right after my mum died. Daddy and I started our trip in Denmark where we searched for a meteor that had showed proof of moon frogs. We ended up in Greece looking for Heliopaths as Daddy wanted to learn more about their heat-inducing qualities and whether or not it was true that the sun can make their pheromones stronger."

"I remember reading an article about that… Wallace I think was the author."

Luna nodded. "Yes, Dalton Wallace. He did some research with Daddy and I spent some time with him. He was kind of my first boyfriend."

Rolf's eyebrow rose. "Was he now? And how many boyfriends have you had, Luna Lovegood?"

She shrugged. "A few. How many have you had?"

"No boyfriends," Rolf said. "Though I did share a snog with a bloke in Taiwan that was rather nice last year. As to girlfriends, I've had two. My first was in fourth year, Blanche Whitecombe. It hardly counted as we snogged a lot and didn't do much else. There were a few girls in between who I snogged here and there, but no one serious until Tiana Edwards."

"As in the Reserve Beater for the Holyhead Harpies?" Luna asked in surprise.

"That's her," Rolf said. "We were together almost two years. We broke up just before we finished at Hogwarts. I loved her, but I wasn't in love with her. We realized we were better off as friends. She sends me tickets to her matches sometimes."

"Wow," Luna said, thinking of the dark-haired beauty who played professional Quidditch with Ginny. "Two years is a long time."

"We had fun," Rolf said. "But that was a long time ago. There was an Italian witch I was dating last year for a few months. Her name was Maria, but we parted as friends. I don't date much. Tiana used to tell me I spent too much time with magical creatures and not enough time with people."

Luna frowned. "People are overrated."

Rolf grinned. "That they are. What about you? Who did you date after Dalton Wallace?"

Luna smiled. "Dalton and I didn't really date so much. I used him to experiment a bit. My first kiss was with one of my close friends, Neville. He was kind of my second boyfriend as well. We decided to lose our virginities together. I'm happy it was with him because it was sweet and I was with someone I was comfortable with, you know?" When Rolf nodded, she continued. "Anyway, I love Neville, but I was never in love with him. Then I dated a boy named Justin Finch-Fletchley for most of my fifth year. He was a lovely snogger, but he never understood me. I broke up with him at the end of the school year as we really didn't suit. Then there was Channing White who I dated in sixth year and again for a bit in seventh. He was… nice enough I suppose. There were a few other snogging partners in between but that's about it."

Rolf stopped her in her tracks, turning her to face him. "Is Channing White the one who you faked it for?"

Luna blushed a deep red. "I never said I faked it."

"You alluded to it," Rolf said. "You more or less gave the impression that someone couldn't be bothered to wait for you to get there. Was it Channing?"

Luna bit her lip before she nodded. "It… I've only been with him and Neville and Neville was just to get our virginities out of the way. I… Rolf… no one's ever made me come like you have."

Rolf's smile widened as he leaned in and brushed his lips over hers. "Good. I'm going to make you come again later. Twice. Then I'm going to shag you from behind while I hold my wand to your clit."

Desire pooled through Luna and her eyes darkened with lust.

Rolf's quick grin was enough to make that desire move between her legs and he noticed because he licked his lips. "Now you're thinking about it. Good girl."

Luna curled her finger into the pocket of his shorts and tugged him closer. "Let's go to my room. Now."

They were both grinning like fools as they held hands and ran off towards the little villa Luna had rented while she was here. Rolf made good on his promise and when she was on her hands and knees, naked and spread out for him, he slid into her from behind as his vibrating wand moved over her clit and Luna screamed in pleasure until she felt completely boneless from her head to her toes.

Rolf tucked her into his arms when they finished and kissed her cheek. "I love that you're a screamer."

Luna opened one eye to look at him. "I didn't know I was until I met you."

Rolf grinned. "I like that even better." He rolled a nipple through his fingers. "We'll have a nap and then we'll see if I can make you scream again."

Luna kissed his chest, running her hands through his soft chest hair with a smile. "Promise?"

"Guaranteed," he replied.

~ KE: Luna ~

They spent two weeks together on the island of Lefkada. Rolf worked with the kelpies during the day and Luna worked with Princess Sapphira and a Merman named Caspian. They spent their nights wrapped in each other's arms and shagging like bunnies.

They were there for three days before Luna pointed to his case one night when they were wrapped together in bed.

"Are you ever going to tell me the significance of that thing?"

Rolf kissed her hair. "My case?"

"Yes," Luna said. "It's obviously more than just a case. You said it houses magical creatures. Tell me about it."

"It is more than just a case," Rolf admitted. "It's… well, since I'm with you, I haven't had to use it, but it's my home away from home."

Luna's eyebrow rose. "Is it like a magical trunk? Professor Moody had one of those. It had seven compartments and every time you opened it, it had something else inside."

"Sort of," Rolf said. "Would you like to see it?"

Luna nodded eagerly. "Yes."

He kissed her breast. "Unfortunately you'll have to put on clothes. It's really not safe for you to go down there naked."

"Down… inside?"

Rolf nodded. "Yes."

Excitement tore through Luna at the thought. She hurried out of bed and pulled her dress back over her head, not bothering with her bra or knickers as she watched Rolf tug on his trousers. Then he led her over to the suitcase and carefully flipped open the locks. He lifted the lid and reached inside to touch something before he winked at her.

"Come on then."

Then he stepped inside of the suitcase and disappeared.

Luna's heart pounded in her chest as she hurried over to look inside. She saw a wooden ladder leading down into a dark room and she immediately stepped into the suitcase to follow him. The last thing she expected was to find herself inside of a little wooden work shed.

Rolf took her hand in his. "My grandfather designed this whole thing. It's my own personal magical menagerie. Come see."

Luna linked her fingers with his as he led her through a wooden door and out into a room full of wonders. There was a fenced off forest where a family of Bowtruckles lived. Rolf told her how Ash didn't want to stay with them. He explained how his grandfather had had his own little pocket Bowtruckle named Pickett who was Ash's uncle. He showed her the mooncalves and Luna rolled around on the damp grass with them in wonder, snuggling them close. He introduced her to the erumpent he'd rescued in Russia whom he named Norma and had kept around because she'd gotten pregnant by the erumpent he'd found in Norway whom he named Ragnar.

Luna found herself holding a beautiful Occamy named Miranda with huge golden eyes shining out of her beautiful bright blue bird-like face while it's long body wrapped around her, wings fluttering.

"These are my newest additions," Rolf said, gesturing to the magical creatures before them. "I found a Wampus cat in the Appalachians last year. I had named him Bob and found out a few days later, Bob was actually a she. She birthed a few cubs. I tried to bring them home, but Bob doesn't want to go yet and until she's ready, I'll let her stay."

"What did you name the cubs?" Luna asked.

Rolf blushed. "Erm, well, actually I named them Paulina, John, Georgie, and Ringo."

Luna blinked. "Like the Muggle pop band?"

"Yeah," Rolf said with a laugh. "I thought it would be fun."

Norma, the big erumpent, came over to nuzzle his shoulder and he patted her head affectionately.

"Hi, girl. Did you miss me?" Rolf reached into his pocket for an apple and she took it happily, preening at him. "Such a good girl. Go on." He slapped her rump and Luna bit her lip.

It seemed even watching him talk to magical creatures was enough to turn her on these days. She turned to move over to the next area and gasped in shock when she came face to face with a Chimaera.

"Wow! Easy there," Rolf said, grabbing her and pushing her behind him. "Blanche doesn't take well to strangers."

Luna stared up at the large Chimaera in awe. She'd never seen one up close before. The lion's head was huge and beautiful with her long mane of auburn hair. The goat had brownish-red fur and dark horns, and the dragon head (who apparently answered to Blanche) was full of red scales as she huffed, breathing sparks out of her nose. The Chimaera had the body of a bull with huge red and gold feathered wings as big as a hippogriff with a long, spiked snake tail that rattled.

"I've returned to Greece twice now to release these girls and each time they find me again," Rolf said, rubbing the lion's mane with affection. "Dottie likes to be rubbed, don't you, darling?" He patted her head before he turned to smile at Luna. "This is Dottie, she's a sweetheart. This is Rose, she's a bit ornery, but mostly nice. But Blanche, she has a bit of a temper on her. I named them after this American Muggle television show that my grandparents loved. Ladies, this is Luna."

Rose head butted her and Luna laughed, reaching out to touch the soft fur of the goat.

"You're beautiful," Luna whispered. "It's lovely to meet you, Rose."

Dottie growled under her breath until Luna touched her snout and then she preened.

Rolf chuckled. "As I said, Dottie loves attention. Every time I let these girls go, they come back. So, I guess for now, their permanent residence is here in my case. I used to have a zouwu whom I named Sophia, but she went home after I healed her. Come on, let me introduce you to my nifflers."

Luna said goodbye to the Chimaera and found Rolf huddled over a nest in a tree that seemed to be made entirely of hidden treasures.

"Oh my," she whispered as she looked at the gold chains.

"Grandpa told me that you have to rein them in, but I don't even know where they find this stuff half the time. This little guy is Ethan, then Derek, and the biggest troublemaker is Auggie. He's a little escape wizard. His grandfather once escaped in a bank in New York. In fact, it was because of his grand escape that my grandmother arrested my grandfather. It was how they met."

Luna laughed. "Really? She arrested him?"

"Yup," Rolf said. "Auggie's grandfather was the culprit. His name was Teddy and he was a complete troublemaker and this one takes right after him."

Auggie rolled onto his back and Luna swore he was smiling at Rolf. She tickled his belly and he cooed at her.

"Hi, Auggie."

Auggie hopped up onto her shoulder and she laughed when he took her earring.

"I'm glad you like it, but those peach earrings were given to me by my friend Harry when he went to Georgia. I'll need that back later."

The niffler reluctantly placed the earring back into her hand before he scurried off.

Rolf took her hand and led her around the corner to where it was charmed to be a lake. When the creature popped out of the water, she gasped.

"Oh! Is that an Akhlut?"

Rolf nodded, turning to her in surprise. "Yes. Have you seen one before?"

"Just once," Luna told him. "Before my last year at Hogwarts, my friend Colin and I travelled to Canada. I saw the Akhlut when I was in Québec. Colin and I visited the Merpeople tribes in the Great Lakes and we encountered them. They're beautiful. Daddy was so jealous when I told him."

"It's beautiful there, isn't it?" Rolf agreed. "I found this Akhlut a few months ago off of the coast of Greenland. It's rare for them to go that far northeast. I know a Canadian magizoologist so the next time I head out towards North America, I'll make a stop to return him to his home. He's been magically tagged by the Canadian Ministry so I know his name is Willy."

"He's beautiful," Luna said. "I've never seen one so close."

"Come on," Rolf told her. "You can help me feed him."

When Willy, the half-orca half-wolf, jumped up from the water to grab the fish she offered, she squealed in delight. Rolf beamed at her.

"Did you go anywhere else in Canada or just to Québec?" Rolf asked, tossing more fish at Willy.

"We spent some time on Prince Edward Island where I got the chance to explore Beacon Hill. It's where I first fell in love with the underwater marine garden and the Merpeople community and the sea dragons. I thought it was just amazing and I wanted to be part of it. We went to New Brunswick and hiked on Grand Manan Island. I finally got the chance to see a Jarvey near Lake Ontario which was exciting. I still think Daddy would love to have one as a pet one day."

Rolf chuckled. "I'm sure he'd love that. They can be quite annoying."

"Very," Luna agreed. "He'd love it. Colin and I also caught a hockey game before we went to Yellowknife and saw the Nanooks. We finished in Banff and saw a thunderbird. It was an incredible trip."

"You'll have to come with me when I bring Willy home in a few months. I'm hoping to make it out that way again in August," Rolf told her.

"I'd like that," Luna replied, making him smile.

Rolf took her hand in his again as they left the water area and he showed her the small area he had with a large tent set up. He led her inside and she found a small sitting area, a tiny kitchen with a small table, and a room off to the right with a large bed.

"And this is my home away from home," Rolf said. "I often crash here when I travel, but it's often a bit hard to find a safe place to store my case."

"This place is incredible," Luna told him. "Your grandfather designed all of it?"

"More or less," Rolf said. "The tent is mine. Grandpa just had an old cot in the work shed, but I thought if I was going to be travelling, I wanted a kitchen for myself and a bed. Of course, there's no real shower, just this makeshift one that I built which works in a pinch. Sometimes a hotel room is a blessing in that sense."

Luna chuckled as she looked up at the small shower-head that stood outside of the tent. "It's pretty amazing, Rolf. Thank you for showing it to me."

Rolf pulled her into his arms and kissed her softly. "Thank you for trusting me. I… I've never brought a woman down here before."

Luna's eyebrow rose. "You haven't?"

Rolf shook his head. "Actually… the only person who's ever been down here outside of my grandparents is a professor at Hogwarts: Hagrid."

"Hagrid!"

Rolf nodded. "During the Battle of Hogwarts, we came down here to get some help from some of the magical creatures. Grandpa always held Hagrid in high esteem so I offered him the chance to come down. He's the kindest man I've ever met. I'd trust him with any life."

"He's a softie," Luna murmured. "He's a very good man."

"He is," Rolf agreed. "Yeah and… then you."

Luna wrapped her arounds his neck. "Thank you for giving me this honour."

Rolf kissed her, his hands tightening on her waist. "Luna, I want to take you in my bed."

Luna brushed her lips over his. "I'd like that."

They tumbled onto his bed and Luna let him pull her sundress off. When their lips met, she silently wondered what was going to happen in two weeks when she finished her assignment here on the island. Rolf's mouth moved over her breasts and down her stomach and she clutched his hair, holding him tight.

She'd worry about that later.

Much, much later…

June 2000…

On their last night in Greece, they were sitting naked in the hot tub on the deck of the little villa. Luna was sitting between his legs, her back resting against his front as they sipped Prosecco and Luna was telling him about some of the places she'd travelled with her father.

"Daddy and I spent one Christmas in Finland where we went on an excursion to search for flying reindeer. We didn't find any, but Daddy was convinced that we found proof that they travelled there in the Santa Clause Village. Of course, the real proof would be if we went to the North Pole, but Finland was the best we could do for the time being. We spent time in Portugal one summer as well. We even went on an African safari where I rode an elephant, which was so much fun. He took me to the Congo where we searched for a Jarvey, but sadly never found one. Daddy always wanted one as a pet as I said. We did find a herd of Erumpents though. They were living with rhinoceroses and the Muggles didn't realize they were different. They were strangely beautiful with their glowing skin and big horns."

"They are strangely beautiful," Rolf agreed. "Grandpa taught me how to do their mating dance when I was seven. He told me a story about how one escaped in Central Park in New York City and how he had to pretend he was its mate to contain it."

Luna laughed. "I would have loved to see that."

"Me too," Rolf said. "Maybe I'll show you the dance one day."

"I'd like that even more," she told him. "The Erumpents were fascinating when we saw them. Daddy always made sure that I knew exactly what we were looking at and how to appreciate them. He… makes me laugh. He always told me the most amazing stories growing up and he made me believe in the impossible. A lot of people think we're both weird for it. Loony Luna Lovegood, that's what people at school called me."

"I like that you're a little weird," Rolf said. "It's what makes you different that makes you beautiful to me."

Luna's mouth opened in surprise before she closed it again.

Rolf reached out to brush her hair back behind her ear. "You fascinate me, Luna Lovegood. In every possible way."

Luna reached a hand up to play with the peach earrings that she was wearing, feeling a bit nervous. "I like being different, but sometimes I do wish I could be a bit more like other witches."

"Don't be," he whispered. "They're dreadfully boring. Your dad took you on adventures and showed you the world. That's not something every witch gets to see. I bet you idolized him growing up, didn't you?"

Luna nodded. "I did. I always idolized Daddy, but when I lost my mum… I kind of turned into myself a bit. I didn't want to let people in and the more I wore my weirdness out there, the less people bothered to try to get to know me."

"That sounds rather lonely," Rolf told her, reaching out to touch her fingers. "How old were you when you lost her?"

"Nine," she whispered. "She was beautiful and vibrant and fun and free. We used to have tea parties on the roof in our pjs and then tea parties on the grass in ballgowns. She'd do my hair all up and she would let me wear her jewellery… I loved it. I haven't thought about that in a long time."

"I'm sorry that you lost her."

"Thank you," Luna whispered, surprised to find tears at the back of her throat. "Her name was Pandora and she was brilliant. She was a Potioneer and she used to brew potions for St Mungo's as well as the Ministry. She was very experimental and one day there was an accident… I saw it happen."

Rolf's eyes widened as he pulled her into his arms, tucking her head under his chin. "Luna… I'm so sorry."

"Daddy was always there for me," Luna told him, pressing her cheek against his warm chest. "He was devastated when she died and he took me away. That was when we first started travelling. We'd gone other places before, but they were family holidays and different from what we did when it was just me and him. We slept outside under the stars and we swam with dolphins. We grew closer than ever. He's my whole world. It's just been me and him for a long time. My grandfather, my mum's dad, he always thought my father was a bit too out there. Whenever I spend time with him, he always gets this funny look on his face when I talk about our adventures. Grandfather's a brilliant man in his own right. He taught my mother everything when it came to the importance of the perfect ingredient."

"Is he a Potioneer too?"

"Wandmaker," Luna said. "He was a bit disappointed when I didn't have an interest in the family business, but it wasn't for me."

"Wandmaker… you don't mean Ollivander, do you?"

Luna nodded. "Yes. He's my grandfather. He can be a bit intense."

"A bit," Rolf agreed. "I bought my wand from him."

"So did almost everyone," Luna said with a smile. "Daddy thinks he takes things too seriously and Grandfather thinks Daddy doesn't take things seriously enough. I think someone who doesn't take things too seriously was what I needed after Mum died. Daddy helped me with that."

"He sounds like an amazing man," Rolf said. "I'm glad you had him."

"Me too," Luna said, snuggling back against his chest and sipping her Prosecco. "You said that your grandfather is kind of like that to you?"

Rolf nodded. "Yes. Grandpa and Grandma, they… they raised me. My parents were killed when I was barely two. They were killed by Death Eaters in '79. I don't have any memories of them. My dad's name was Jacob. He was named after my grandfather's best friend, an American Muggle whom he met in the 1920s. My father was an Auror in the Magical Intelligence Agency. He met my mum while working on a mission. She was an advocatus for the International Confederation of Wizards. They were ten years apart, but according to Grandma, my dad fell for her almost from the very moment he met her. Her name was Xara and she was originally from Greece. Anyway, when they were killed, my mum didn't have any other family. Her parents had died of dragon pox a few years before and my cousin Thomas was barely out of Hogwarts himself so my grandparents took me in."

"I'm sorry," Luna replied. "I don't know what I would have done without my father. I can't imagine losing both of your parents."

"I had Grandpa and Grandma and they more than made up for it. Grandma was an Auror for MACUSA my first year living with them so I did a lot of travelling just with Grandpa. She's retired now and so is my grandfather for the most part, though people are always going to him for advice and whatnot. He's… well famous," he admitted. "Newt Scamander."

Luna's lips curved. "I might have had a feeling about that. Scamander isn't a very popular name and as you said he was a magizoologist, so I thought he might be that Scamander. That's pretty amazing that he wrote the book we used at Hogwarts."

"Yeah, that little book was his dream. He wanted to write something to help the magical community understand how to treat magical creatures with respect and kindness. He wanted people to understand that even though they seem scary or dangerous, it doesn't mean they are — outside of a few obvious ones that is. He and Professor Dumbledore were good friends," Rolf told her. "When the Chamber of Secrets was opened at Hogwarts, Grandpa went with Professor Dumbledore to check out the Basilisk's corpse. No one had seen a Basilisk in centuries, but Grandpa knew how dangerous they were. He was incredibly intrigued to learn that it had been controlled. Grandma told him to not even think about it when he mentioned how interesting it would be to see if you could raise one from an egg."

Luna chuckled. "He sounds like an interesting character."

"He is," Rolf told her. "I'd like for you to meet him one day."

Luna's blue eyes met his and she smiled. "I'd like that too."

Rolf squeezed her hand in his. "They also have three pet kneazles who are always getting into mischief. Grandma says that Grandpa forced her to take them home, but she babies them more than anyone. Their names are Hoppy, Mauler, and Milly. Last time I popped by for tea, Milly was hanging from the chandelier after taking one of Grandma's lace doilies from the table while Hoppy tried to catch her. Mauler usually sleeps at Grandpa's feet."

"Never a dull moment then?"

"Never," Rolf said with a laugh.

Luna stood up, the water dripping down her naked body and making his eyes rake her in. "I think we're going to be wrinkled prunes if we sit in here much longer."

Rolf followed her out as they dried off and fell onto the bed, kissing. Rolf's tongue rolled around her taut nipples, nipping at every bump of her areola in fascination and Luna held his head closer to her. He sucked one nipple, then the other before he lifted his head to kiss her lips.

"I don't want to leave you tomorrow."

Luna ran her fingers through his hair. "I have a few more days here at least. Maybe a week."

Rolf nodded. "I know. But after that?"

"I don't know," she whispered.

"Come to Thailand with me."

Luna's eyes widened. "Go with you?"

"Yes," Rolf said. "Come with me. There are plenty of things you can study there. The Andamen Sea meets the Indian Ocean and… I don't want to go without you, Luna."

"How long are you going to be in Thailand?" Luna asked, already imagining following him out there.

"Two weeks, maybe three," Rolf said. "Then I was planning on heading to Haiti."

Rolf's fingers traced her spine as he spoke and Luna listened with half an ear. Thailand would be interesting and he was right, the ocean was close enough she could continue her research. It would give her a chance to look at more specimens and Haiti well… that opened up more possibilities.

"I want to spend more time with you," Rolf admitted. "Will you think about it?"

"I'll have to talk to Oliphant and see if it's all right if I change my itinerary."

Rolf's face broke out into a huge grin. "Really?"

"Really," Luna said. "If he says yes, then… yes."

Rolf let out a whoop and rolled her under him on the bed. "Did I ever mention that I have a great relationship with Goldwin Oliphant? He adores me."

"Does he?" Luna teased.

"He does," Rolf said. "If you tell him you're travelling with me, he's going to say yes."

"Will he say yes when I tell him it's because I want you to shag me me more?"

Rolf chuckled. "We'll leave that part out."

Luna ran her hands over his shoulders. "I have to be back in England by the twelfth of July. I'm standing in my best friend's wedding. Maybe you would want to come with me?"

Rolf nipped at her mouth. "I might. It depends when it is. I actually have a wedding in July as well. A friend of mine. Well, more of a friend of a friend, but we've gotten along fairly well since I've met him. He's a great bloke. It's on the twenty-third."

"So is mine," Luna said, her eyes meeting his. "What a strange coincidence."

"Yeah," Rolf replied, his brow furrowing. "Who's your best friend?"

"Ginny Weasley," Luna said. "Though I consider the man she's marrying one of my closest friends as well. He's always been very protective of me, like a brother. The two of them are perfect for each other."

"Wait," Rolf began, sitting up. "Ginny Weasley's marrying Harry Potter? You're friends with him?"

"Yes," Luna said. "We've known each other since we were children."

Rolf grinned. "Luna, that's the wedding I'm invited to."

Luna blinked. "Oh. Well, looks like you have to come with me then."

"I can't believe you're friends with Harry Potter," Rolf said, shaking his head.

"He's nothing like the press makes him out to be. He's kind and nice and he takes care of his friends. He's always looking out for me," Luna told him.

Rolf shook his head. "No, not because he's Harry Potter, but because I know him. Luna… I tried to figure out who you were after I saw you in Hogsmeade and then again in the Battle of Hogwarts. I spoke to Zacarias about it, well, Zahira Black now — she's kind of one of my idols and definitely my favourite person to work with in the Menagerie — and she never… Harry knew who you were the whole bloody time and it never even occurred to me to ask him."

Luna's hand slid down between them to grip him in her hands. "We weren't supposed to meet then. The Wrackspurts were keeping us apart."

"Bloody Wrackspurts," Rolf said with a smile, kissing her throat.

"Meddlesome things," Luna agreed, pumping him in her hand. "I need you inside me, Rolf."

Rolf parted her thighs with his knee. "Only if you save me a dance at the wedding."

Luna's lips curved. "I'll save you all of my dances."

When he slid into her, they both groaned and Luna hoped desperately that Oliphant let her change her itinerary so that she could travel with Rolf. She wanted more of him in every possible way and when he began to work her with his thumb on her clit and called her 'good girl,' she lost all sense of reason, screaming his name as she came.

"It's a date," she whispered.

He chuckled against her throat and pulled her close. "It's a date."

~ KE: Luna ~

July 2000…

Luna was a bit sad to return to England, but also excited. She was looking forward to spending the next week helping her best friend with last minute wedding plans and even more excited to witness Harry and Ginny get married. The last two months had honestly been magical.

Goldwin Oliphant had been more than all right with Luna following Rolf. As long as Luna was continuing her research on underwater plant life, Oliphant claimed she could travel wherever she wanted. So she did. Rolf left Greece for Thailand and she headed for Turkey. A week later she met him in Thailand and they stayed two weeks before heading to Haiti. They'd stopped in Spain before returning to England.

Now, Luna was sitting in the kitchen of Clevedon Court, talking to Ginny all about her travels.

"As much as I love hearing about the travelling, tell me more about this mysterious man," Ginny said, pouring them each glass of white wine.

Luna accepted her glass, a small smile on her lips. "I told you, he's rather wonderful."

Ginny smiled at her friend. "I definitely got that impression when you said that you were bringing your new boyfriend to the wedding. You met him in Corsica, right? He's the one who kissed you like no one has ever kissed you before and who you've been travelling with for the last two months?"

"Well, not travelling together exactly more like we keep meeting up in the same areas."

"On purpose," Ginny teased.

"Yes," Luna said.

"And you've been sharing a bed," Ginny added, her eyes twinkling.

Luna's lips twitched. "Oh no, we don't just do it in the bed."

"Luna!" Ginny exclaimed, laughing.

"He's sweet, Ginny. He's nice and kind. He loves animals and that kindness is seen in everything he does, plus he's a photographer. You should see the way he captures moments in time. He thinks my work is interesting and he reads the Quibbler."

"Really? Does he know that your dad is the editor?"

Luna nodded. "He does now. We started talking about it and when I asked him about if, he said that he loved the magazine because it makes you believe that anything is possible and imagination is the best. He reads it with his grandfather."

Ginny's heart swelled. "If you tell me that any of that was a line I will beat this bloke with my broomstick."

Luna chuckled. "Not a line. He was sincere, Ginny. He's… brilliant. His name is Rolf, Rolf Scamander."

"Oh!" Ginny exclaimed. "Really? I've met him once. He's very handsome and he was very kind. Harry knows him."

"We figured that out when I invited him to the wedding," Luna said with a smile.

"He makes you happy."

Luna nodded. "More than I can explain. Plus the sex is stupendous."

"Yeah?"

"So stupendous! He makes me come like nobody's business. Hi, Harry."

Harry had stopped in the doorway of the kitchen looking like a deer in headlights. "Hi, Luna. I'll um, let you two talk, eh?"

Ginny gestured him over. "Come have a glass of wine with us. Luna's finally telling me about her new beau."

"Er, I gathered that."

Ginny gestured him over again and he ducked his head to kiss her. "How did you meet him, Luna? You never did say how you crossed paths in Corsica?"

"Oh, I stole his shirt," Luna said, sipping her wine.

Harry's eyebrow rose. "Er, why?"

Luna turned her big blue eyes on him. "Because I was naked."

"What?" Harry sputtered, his eyes widening.

Ginny laughed and reached over to pat her fiancé's arm. "Do tell, Luna."

"Well, I was talking to the Merpeople under the sea and when I came up he was sitting on a towel in his shorts, a shirt in the sand next to him. So I took it. He stared at me like I was a mirage or something."

"No, he stared at you because you are fucking beautiful and you were naked," Harry said in exasperation.

Luna looked pensive. "That could be it too."

"Luna, did he take advantage of you? Because if he did, I—"

"—Harry, shush," Ginny interrupted. "Where was your swimsuit, Luna?"

"Swimming in the nude is more natural," Luna answered. "You know I prefer to be naked. So, I took his shirt and then he asked me out to breakfast."

Harry frowned. "I don't trust him. That seems dodgy to me. A beautiful naked woman approaches you and you ask her out to breakfast?"

"As opposed to what? Jumping her bones?" Ginny said, rolling her eyes.

"I don't like him," Harry said again, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "She was bloody starkers when he met her, Gin! This bloke is dodgy, I can feel it! I don't like him."

"You do, actually," Ginny said, her eyes twinkling. "In fact you like him very much." At Harry's look, she smiled. "His name is Rolf Scamander."

"Rolf Sc — bloody hell!" Harry grumbled.

"He's very nice, Harry," Luna said. "We've been together most of the last two and half months. He makes me laugh and he's kind. When he kisses me, I feel things that I've never felt before and he doesn't seem to mind that I need a lot of foreplay to make me come. In fact, he rather enjoys spending time between my legs. Ginny, one night I came five times. I finally understand what all the fuss is about. No wonder you enjoy it so much when Harry goes down on you."

Ginny chuckled. "He's definitely a keeper."

"Erm, sure," Harry said, the back of his neck reddening. "I'll leave you two to talk more." He stood up and walked over to kiss Luna's cheek. "If he hurts you, I'll kill him."

Luna gave Harry an amused look. "You know I can take care of myself, right?"

"Just pass it on," Harry said, kissing her cheek again. "No one messes with you or they answer to me."

"He gives me the best orgasms, I'm going to keep him for a bit."

"Er, right," Harry said. "I'm going to take Cloud Dancing out for a ride and let you two chat."

"Harry, before you hurry off, I have your birthday gift for you a bit early," Luna said, passing him a large gift bag from by her feet.

"You don't have to get me a birthday gift," Harry told her. "Having you stand in our wedding is gift enough."

Luna's smile brightened. "I do adore you, Harry Potter. Open it. Happy Birthday."

Luna watched eagerly as Harry carefully opened the bag and pulled the large roll of parchment with a bewildered frown.

Luna been working on it for months and had gotten Ginny's help along with help from Sirius to make sure it was perfect. She smiled as she watched his eyes widen in surprise.

It was a beautifully hand-drawn family tree of the Potter name. The top had the Potter family crest drawn and painted from the exquisite gold on the edge of the helmet to the golden tassels; the gold ribbon edged in deep Gryffindor red displayed the Potter family name, and the gold Hippocampus as well. There were silver and white feathers that looked life-like along with three white cinquefoils, black feathers, a black shield, and black ermines painted into the parchment. The helmet and crest were all outlined in that same deep red.

Beneath the family crest was carefully drawn names and dates of Harry's entire family tree and Luna smiled as Harry stared at it in awe.

"Luna…" Harry whispered in amazement. "This is brilliant."

Luna's smile widened. "I only drew out your direct line, but if you tap your wand on the others, like this," she said, demonstrating by tapping on Abraham Abel Potter who immigrated to America in 1694. "That family tree comes to life."

When she did so, Abraham's name popped off of the parchment and claimed that he had been married in 1712 to a woman named Adsila Nahimana and they had two sons named Jonathan Abraham Potter in 1716 and Asher Abraham Potter in 1718.

"Wow," Harry said. "Luna, this is completely brilliant. You made this?"

She shrugged. "It was fun. I found it soothing to draw everything in and I thought you could hang in the house so that you'll always know where you came from."

Harry carefully put the parchment down and then tugged her close, tucking her into his strong arms. Luna wrapped her arms around him and snuggled in. Harry always gave the best hugs and she loved the feel of him when he held her. He was strong and warm and he always made her feel safe in a way that she couldn't quite explain. She breathed in his scent and smiled up at him.

"I'm glad you like it."

"Thank you," he said, pecking her forehead tenderly. "I love it."

Ginny picked up the parchment to read over it in amazement. "This turned out even more amazing than I thought it would. Wow, Harry, one of your ancestors married a Weasley."

"What?" he asked, turning to look at it where Ginny was pointing. "Does that make us cousins?"

Ginny chuckled. "Considering it was over six hundred years ago, I think we're safe. Dayla Weasley… I wonder how we're connected. I'll ask Grandpa when I see him."

Luna smiled when Harry pecked Ginny's lips before nodding. She loved seeing the two of them together, they eluded happiness and love and it just made the room brighter.

"I'm glad you like it," Luna said. "Now you can go horseback riding so I can tell Ginny about this thing Rolf does to get me off."

Harry blanched. "Yeah, yeah, I'm going."

When he left the room, Luna and Ginny exchanged a look before they burst into laughter. Luna took a sip of her wine and smiled at her friend.

"All right, now that you're caught up, let's talk about the wedding."

Ginny let out a deep sigh. "Yes, let's."

~ KE: Luna ~

Rolf felt like the last few months had been the best in his life. Luna was more than he'd ever imagined. She was fun and quirky. He loved watching her tuck her wand behind her ear as she worked or toss it into her hair to make a bun. He could watch her sketch for hours and when she rose from the sea, naked, he felt like he was living a dream.

She always swam naked, arriving in the Merpeople cities without a stitch of clothing on. Then she would go through the portal into the city and glamour a robe around herself to walk through it. Rolf found it fascinating. He found her completely charming and utterly fascinating.

Her nakedness didn't bother him. It was so very her and if anything it only made him happier to know that he was the one who got to take her to bed at night. And take her to bed he did. Really, the sex had only gotten better. They did it everywhere and neither of them could get enough of each other.

At Harry and Ginny's wedding in July, they'd been dancing and he'd been staring into her eyes on the dance floor when Harry had cut in and asked to dance with Luna. Rolf stepped back to allow the groom his dance and later when Luna was swept up with her friend Colin, he was surprised to see Harry approach him near the bar.

"It's a beautiful wedding, Harry," Rolf said. "Best wishes and congratulations to both you and Ginny."

"Thank you," Harry said. "And you and Luna, huh?"

Rolf's face broke out into a grin. "Yeah. She's really something special."

"Yes, she is," Harry said, coming to stand next to him. "She's one of the best people I know. I love her very much, Rolf. She's important to me. I won't see her get hurt."

Rolf looked at Harry in surprise. "You think that I'm going to hurt her?"

"No," Harry said, carefully, turning his bright green eyes on him. "No, I don't think you will hurt her. Not intentionally. But I'm letting you know, here and now, that if you do, you'll have to answer to me and my wife. And trust me, I may have defeated Lord Fucking Voldemort, but if you hurt our Luna; it won't be me who you have to worry about."

He'd left him standing there with his mouth slightly open in surprise. But he'd known in that moment that what he felt for Luna was more than he'd ever imagined. He couldn't stay away from her if he tried. He was drawn to her and there was nowhere else he wanted to be.

It was why he wanted her to meet his grandparents as soon as possible. He wanted her to meet the two most important people in his life because she was so important. Unfortunately, his grandfather was helping an old friend out of the country so they'd put it off, but Luna had invited him to her home a few days after the wedding. It was just outside of Ottery St Catchpole and Luna wanted him to meet her father, the infamous editor of The Quibbler.

Rolf found her home incredibly interesting as it was built of black stone and cylindrical. It sat on top of a hill at the base of a stream and looked very much like a giant rook straight out of a game of chess.

Luna pulled him inside to show him around and told him that her father worked until five, but she would show him around until they could have dinner together where Rolf could meet him properly. Rolf had briefly met Xenophilius Lovegood at the Potter-Weasley wedding a few days ago, but it had barely been more than a passing hello with all of the people in attendance.

So to his horror, the first real time he'd met her father, he'd had his tongue on Luna's clit. She'd been sitting on the kitchen counter of her home and one thing had led to another and the next thing he knew, he was on his knees, her knickers at her ankles as he spread her open with his fingers to lick her.

"Oh, yes," Luna moaned. "Oh, yes, Rolf."

Rolf had just sucked her bud between his lips when a growling strangled voice had exclaimed, "LUNA!"

Luna pushed him away before she scrambled to cover herself. "Daddy, you're home early," Luna said entirely too calmly in Rolf's opinion considering the situation.

Rolf turned scarlet when she said those words and he slowly slid to his feet. "Erm, hallo, Sir."

Xenophilius Lovegood's long dirty blond hair was the same shade as his daughter's and was pulled back in a low ponytail as he narrowed his eyes at Rolf. "Scamander, I presume?"

"Yes, Sir," Rolf said, hoping his voice didn't sound squeaky.

Xenophilius pursed his lips. "Well, at least you're putting my daughter first."

If it was possible, Rolf turned even redder. "Yes, Sir. Always."

Xenophilius nodded before he turned back to his daughter who had fixed herself accordingly. "Come give me a hug, Lovebug."

Luna hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek. "I missed you, Daddy."

"I've missed you too, Lovebug." He kept his arm tightly around her before he turned to Rolf, extending his hand. "Xenophilius Lovegood."

Rolf accepted the hand, licking his lips. "Rolf Scamander. It's nice to meet you, Sir."

"You as well," Xenophilius declared. "Now, I understand you're a magizoologist as well as a magizoohealer and a photographer?"

"I am," Rolf said. "Though the photography is mostly for fun."

"He's very good, Daddy," Luna said. "Most of the photos I've sent you have been his."

Xenophilius' eyebrow rose. "Well then, you've a talent, don't you? Luna, love, why don't you make us some tea and Rolf can tell me all about his work? Rolf, have you ever encountered an army of Heliopaths on your travels?"

"Er, no," Rolf admitted. "But I'm a big fan of your work, Sir. My grandfather and I are rabid readers of The Quibbler."

"Really?" Xenophilius exclaimed. "Fascinating."

Luna blew Rolf a kiss when he gave her a helpless look and when Xenophilius began talking all about his attempts to find a Heliopath army as he was convinced that they were going to be an important ally in any future conflicts, Rolf couldn't help but be completely charmed by the man's eccentricities.

When they left after dinner, Xenophilius called out for them to keep an eye out for any Heliopath armies and to watch for Mokes hidden in damp places. Rolf thought he was funny and kind and very much like his daughter.

They spent a few more days in England before the two of them headed off together for Québec where Rolf planned to bring the Akhlut home. Then they were heading out to America to visit the state of Arizona where Zacarias asked him to check in with a magizoologist named Garcia who had a camp with a nest of Thunderbirds.

"You and Lovegood are doing great work together," Oliphant claimed when Rolf brought up Luna joining him on his upcoming trips. "As long as I keep getting results, the two of you can travel together for as long as you like. Lovegood's role is mostly in a research capacity anyway and she can work from almost anywhere."

Rolf was grinning when he left his office and when he ran into Zee in the hall, the woman smiled at him.

"Someone looks happy. Did I hear correctly that you're going to be travelling with Luna Lovegood?"

Rolf nodded. "I am. She was the one I was looking for, Zee."

Zee's eyebrow rose. "The one you were looking for? Wait… she was the one from the Battle of Hogwarts and the one you saw in Hogsmeade? Oh, Merlin, I didn't even make that connection when you said she was on a Thestral and… oh, Rolf, I'm so happy you found her!"

"She's incredible," he admitted.

Zee's eyes were warm as her lips curved. "She's pretty special. Harry absolutely adores her and considers her to be a close friend."

"Yeah, he said as much at his wedding," Rolf replied with a chuckle. "Then he more or less told me he would hurt me if I hurt her and I think he eluded to Ginny hurting me more than him."

Zee laughed. "Sounds about right. He can be a bit protective over his friends, but he's always had a soft spot for Luna. When you head to Arizona, don't forget to tell Evelyn I said hello and make sure you take Luna to the Grand Canyon. She'll love it and I know she'll find some plant life to interest her in the dessert heat."

"I will," Rolf assured her.

Rolf recognized the figure of Sirius Black come up behind Zee and he smiled when the man put his arm around her waist and tugged her close for a kiss.

"Hey, babe, did you still want to grab lunch with me?"

"Hi," Zee said, standing on her toes to kiss him again. "Definitely. Sirius, did you meet Rolf at the wedding?"

Sirius turned to look at Rolf. "I don't think we were formerly introduced. Sirius Black," he said, extending his hand.

"Rolf Scamander," Rolf said, shaking his hand. "It's nice to meet you. Your wife is the one who hired me."

Zee grinned. "He said he admired me."

Sirius chuckled. "You always were a sucker for a good compliment. I think that's how you fell into my bed."

"Prat. It was the kitchen floor."

Sirius winked. "Oh, right. Come on, if we hurry, we can have lunch on our kitchen floor."

Zee laughed and waved goodbye to Rolf before the two of them hurried off, grinning foolishly at each other. Rolf thought seeing Zee so happy and so in love with the man she'd thought she lost was another pretty wonderful thing to witness. He couldn't imagine having to go so deep undercover in another country and letting his family believe he was dead, but Sirius had done it and now he was back. Rolf was happy that Zee was able to have a happy ending with the man she loved.

Rolf organized the last of his things and he and Luna set out for Québec, then Arizona, then Peru. By mid October, they found themselves back in Greece, but this time on a small island called Donousa.

Luna spent her time picking plants, flowers, and other herbological substances from areas they visited before pressing them and researching them. She sketched them in her notebook and wrote notes and articles to submit to the Ministry when she wasn't working on her underwater thesis. When they were near oceans or lakes, she spent time beneath the surface studying the aquatic plants and always came out with hundreds of questions and scurried to make copious notes. Rolf thought she was adorable.

When Luna wasn't busy with her own work, she worked with Rolf both in and out of his case. The magical creatures in his case adored her almost as much as she did and Auggie often slept in her hair. To Rolf's surprise, the niffler listened to Luna. She would say his name and give him a stern look before crooking her finger in his direction. He would bow his head in shame and scurry back to her in a way that he'd never done for Rolf. Ash had also gotten used to hopping over to her on a regular basis. He would sit on her shoulder while she sketched and pout when she went underwater because it meant that he had to return to Rolf.

Rolf told as much to his grandparents in his letters and Newt responded that anyone who could make his creatures like them more than Rolf was someone you wanted around. But Rolf was still surprised when not even a day after arriving on the small island of Donousa, he was met by his grandparents.

He and Luna were having dinner in the small two bedroom villa they'd rented for their time when he recognized them coming up the path. Rolf jumped to his feet in surprise and hurried towards them, hugging his grandmother first and then his grandfather.

"What are you doing here? Are you both all right?" Rolf demanded.

Tina Scamander patted Rolf's cheek affectionately. "We're just fine, darling. We just missed your cute face."

He kissed her cheek and then turned to beam at Luna as he brought his grandparents towards her.

"Luna, these are my grandparents. Newt and Porpentina Scamander."

"Tina," his grandmother corrected. "Luna, it's lovely to finally put a face to the name. Rolf speaks of you often in his letters."

Luna stared at them in surprise before she caught herself. She knew that Rolf had wanted her to meet his grandparents, but she still found herself unready to do so. They were very important to him and the last thing she wanted was to disappoint him.

"Hello, Mrs Scamander," Luna said. "It's an honour to meet you."

"Tina," she insisted. "Newt, come shake Luna's hand."

Newt Scamander was looking in his pocket as if he lost something and before Rolf could ask what, a furry head popped out of the neck of his shirt. "Whoops, sorry, not sure how that got here."

Tina rolled her eyes. "We found a stray kitten on the beach. Newt's already named him Donny."

Newt's hair was snow white and a bit of a mess, but Luna couldn't help but notice how similar he looked to his grandson. They were of similar builds and they both tended to hold themselves the same, hands in their pockets with nervous smiles. Luna thought he was adorable.

"Hello, Mr Scamander," Luna said, leaning in and kissing his cheek.

Newt blushed. "Erm, hello. Newt is fine. Here, hold Donny for me."

Luna accepted the black kitten with a smile and Rolf beamed at her. Rolf settled his grandparents down at the table and offered them some wine and dinner as Luna told them about their plans to explore the island.

"Rolf tells us that you're a Naturalist," Newt said. "What are you studying?"

"Algae mostly," Luna said. "I want to find an aquatic plant that can sustain life above the surface. I'll be heading to the beach tomorrow to see what I can find on the shoreline. The Merpeople all over have been a tremendous help in my research."

"Fascinating," New said. "Perhaps I could come with you. I'd love to see what you do. Have to keep my mind busy at my age, you know. Tina and I were just discussing taking a trip to Arizona. There's a new flock of Thunderbirds there! You know it was because of a Thunderbird that I first met her in New York City back in 1926."

Rolf rolled his eyes. "I know, Grandpa, and you were slow on the uptake and took a billion years to tell her how you felt!"

Luna chuckled. "He was taking his time, Rolf, there's nothing wrong with that."

"Besides, Newt always gets it wrong. We didn't meet because of the Thunderbird, we met because his niffler got loose in the bank!"

"And then she arrested me!" Newt exclaimed, his eyes dancing in glee. "She was magnificent and a had a little mustard stain on her lip. I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen, and have seen since."

Tina kissed his cheek. "You know, it took him decades to say that."

Rolf laughed. "So you always tell me. Grandpa, you didn't really come all the way out to Greece to see Luna work, did you?"

Newt looked guilty before he cleared his throat. "Erm, well, of course I wanted to meet your Luna, Rolf, but Dion Aetos sent me word that Donousa is rumoured to have a nest of Stymphalian birds."

"I tried to tell him that the rumour was probably a life," Tina said, shaking her head. "Stymphalian birds haven't been seen in —"

"— Over a thousand years, I know," Newt said. "But if it really is a nest of Stymphalian birds, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see them, Tina."

Rolf frowned. "Stymphalian birds? As in the ones that Hercules defeated?"

"One in the same, my boy!" Newt exclaimed, patting his grandson on the back. "Aetos says that they've been causing a bit of mischief on the island. People have been getting hurt and one person was killed; a Muggle. Oblivators had to come in and fix the memories of the witness. I believe they claimed he was eaten by a shark."

Luna's eyes widened. "Wait, are you talking about the birds that were the sixth labour of Hercules?"

Newt nodded. "Brilliant girl you have there, Rolf. Yes. King Eurystheus of Mycenae sent him on a pilgrimage for twelve years where he was to perform labours set to him by the king in penance for his crimes and in return, he would be granted immortality."

"I remember this," Luna said. "Daddy told me the story. Hera hated Hercules because he was the son of Zeus and had repeatedly tried to kill him ever since he was a child. She sent a madness spell down upon him and he went temporarily insane. Hercules murdered his wife, Megara along with their three children. When the madness subsided and he realized what he'd done, he was devastated and completely beside himself with regret. He visited the Oracle of Delphi in his attempt to atone for his actions and it was there that the oracle advised him to go and serve his cousin, King Eurysetheus of Mycenae. Eurysetheus gave him twelve labours to perform as part of his atonement. The Stymphalian birds were part of the sixth labour and I believe that they were pets of the goddess Artemis."

"Yes, the goddess of the hunt," Rolf said. "But the birds were actually raised by Ares, the god of war. They were said to be the size of cranes."

"And here on the island," Newt said. "We must find them if they are, Rolf. They need to be given a new home where they'll be safe. If the Muggles find them, they'll kill them and wizards will kill them for their bronze beaks."

Rolf nodded. "All right, Grandpa. We'll go exploring in the morning and see what we can find."

Tina sighed and leaned back in her chair. "I'll take care of the cat while you boys go exploring. Perhaps Luna will keep me company?"

"I'd like that," Luna said with a smile.

So Rolf and Newt left Tina and Luna behind and together headed out towards the mysterious nest of the Stymphalian birds that Agent Dion Aetos of the Greek Tmíma Magikón Dimiourgión had told Newt that he'd heard about. As they walked, Rolf snuck a look over at his grandfather.

"Do you really think that they might be here?"

"Could just be some nasty crows I suppose," Newt admitted. "Or even some Lammergeiers are possible, but either way, there is some form of creature that's hurting people in this village."

"A bearded vulture would be possible," Rolf said. "We'll have to find a way to contain them without hurting them."

Newt beamed at his grandson. "And we will. Luna is lovely, Rolf."

Rolf's cheeks heated. "She's incredible, Grandpa. I can't stop thinking about her or wanting to be with her. I begged Oliphant to let us travel together and it's just been… perfect, you know? She's so different from anyone I've ever met. She walks around like she's in a dream, but she takes in everything around her with keen observation. She makes me smile and she makes me think… it's stupid."

Newt put his hand on Rolf's shoulder. "It took me years to admit my feelings to your grandmother. I always think if I'd just been brave enough to speak up, we could have been together so much earlier, but I was… shy and awkward. Over the years, Tina has helped me open up from that, but I still sometimes am a bit of the awkward and shy man I was. You have a bit of that in you, but you're also braver than I ever was when it comes to admitting things to yourself. I know I fell for Tina Goldstein the moment she arrested me. I knew it then and even if it seems impossible, love doesn't come with a timeline. You can spend a decade with someone before you realize you're in love with them or you can spend only a moment. Your heart is what you should be listening to."

"I think I've been in love with her since I saw her flying on a Thestral over the Battle of Hogwarts," he whispered. "And it's mad because I didn't even know her then, but I just knew…"

"You haven't told her," Newt said.

Rolf shook his head. "She'll think I'm mad. It's only been six months."

Newt smiled. "Well, I don't know a heck of a lot of about people. People have always been strange beasts to me, but I do know magical creatures. When an animal is with someone they love, they show it in kind gestures. Sea otters cuddle close and hold hands while they float. Elephants lock trunks like a giant hug. Erumpents rub horns or tails together. Orangutans even kiss and hug each other. Dragons wrap each other in their wings. There's always a sign."

"She always wraps me in a tight hug whenever we greet each other and then a kiss," Rolf murmured. "She rests her cheek right here over my heart and when we sleep, she rests her head in the same place."

"Over your heart, eh? Like she might be guarding it or caring for it the way she wants to be," Newt suggested. "Just some food for thought. Come along, I see something up ahead."

Rolf hurried after his grandfather who was surprisingly spry for a man of a hundred and three. He followed him down the sand to where the beach changed into a hiking trail and he heard the squawking as they approached. Newt held a hand up to stop his approach, passing him back a set of omnioculars so that he could look closer at what was ahead of them.

Rolf's eyes widened when he brought them to his face. There were six of them adding to a nest on the top of a high Brutia Pine tree that he knew Luna would love to see, but it was the half a dozen birds held his attention. They were huge, as large as a crane if not bigger as Rolf calculated their length to be at least ninety to ninety-five centimetres. They had to weigh at least a dozen kilos if not more. Tiny, beady black eyes stared out of a dark feathered face with a deep bronzed beak. Their feathers were as sharp as metal and glistened in the sunlight.

"Bloody hell," Rolf whispered. "I think Aetos was right."

"Me too," Newt said, passing his omnioculars back to his grandson. "Follow me."

Rolf did as instructed, keeping low to the ground as they moved towards the tree where the birds were situated.

"Watch where you step. Stymphalian birds have poisonous dung and it can seep through shoes," Newt said. "Their beaks are deadly and powerful. One or two pecks to someone's head can kill them instantly."

Rolf nodded as he took in Newt's words. They approached the tree cautiously, keeping their eyes on the nest above. Rolf placed his hand on the tree when the first bird spotted him and he swore he could see the eyes narrow.

"They eat meat, don't they?"

"Yes," Newt said.

Huge wings rose up around the first bird, glittering bronze in the sun before it flew down to the ground to greet them. Rolf slowly pulled a bloody steak from his pocket, holding his arm out straight to give the bird a landing. The bird watched him as if he was contemplating something before those big wings rose again and he landed on Rolf's arm. Rolf gave him the bloody steak and the bird held it in it's beak before a second Stymphalian landed on Rolf to share the prize. Their teeth tore the bloody steak apart in one pull.

"Easy," Newt said, keeping his hands up. His wand flicked quickly behind his back, opening Rolf's suitcase as a third bird landed on Rolf's shoulder.

Rolf carefully brought out another bloody steak for the third bird, this one was much smaller and clearly a baby of the first two. In moments, both of his arms were stretched out with one massive bird resting on each of them and the third smaller one, resting on his right shoulder. The weight of holding them was making him sweat. He could feel his biceps tingling, shaking from the pressure of it. He knew his arms were going to collapse any moment if the birds so much as shifted their full weight down on him so when he felt his grandfather's freezing spell hold his arms in place, he was grateful. He could still feel the pressure of the sharp talons on his skin, but he thankfully couldn't move even if he dared too.

Newt pulled another bloody steak from a bag and carefully hovered it over the open case on the ground. The first bird who had landed on Rolf stared at it for so long that Rolf thought maybe he wasn't going to take the bait. Then suddenly it's huge wings opened and it dove towards the steak, disappearing into the case. It took fifteen more minutes to get the other five down there before Newt slammed the case closed and removed the spell from Rolf's arms.

"Bloody hell," Rolf muttered, rubbing his arms where dried blood sat. "Where are we going to take them, Grandpa?"

"Somewhere far from human life," Newt said. "Stymphalian birds are dangerous predators. It's rare for them to have migrated so close to a population. They like the warmth of Greece."

"Yes," Rolf said. "Perhaps the best place would be to get them to the top of Mount Olympus."

Newt nodded. "Yes, that would be good. Now, we have to get down here and get them situated or they might eat some of the other creatures down there."

Rolf and Newt headed down into the case to the bird enclosure that the Stymphalian birds would have been pushed into when they fell into the case. Newt had spelled the magical menagerie to hold all sorts of magical creatures, but he'd quickly learned that getting them in there safely took some practice and finesse. It was how he created these amazing magical enclosures which when a creature fell into the case, it was automatically charmed to steer them towards their designated spot. It was then up to the magizoologist to hold them there.

They found the Stymphalian birds in a huge Brutia Pine on the edge of a plain overlooking Norma the Erumpent. Rolf charmed Norma off so that the birds couldn't attack her and then did the same with the plain entirely to keep the birds from leaving it. He used his wand to build a nest and then levitated up some more bloody steaks for the birds to enjoy.

"That will hold them for a bit," Newt said. "But keep an eye on them. I don't think they will trust easily."

"I will," Rolf promised.

Newt looked up at the birds with fascination. "It's moments like this when I really hate being retired."

Rolf chuckled and put his arm around his grandfather's shoulders. "I couldn't have done this without you, Grandpa."

Newt beamed at him and the two of them headed back out of the case to return to Luna and Tina. They found them sitting at the table outside with glasses of wine and smiles on their faces. As they approached, Rolf kept his eyes on Luna, unable to keep the smile from his face. She was magnificent and maybe it was fast, but it was time for him to own up and tell her how he felt.

Soon.

~ KE: Luna ~

Newt and Tina stayed with them two more days and Luna was charmed by them. They were incredibly kind and talked about all sorts of stories from sharing memories of Rolf's childhood to telling Luna all about the adventures they'd been on together before and after they were married. Newt spoke about his friendship with Dumbledore and how his old professor had been one of the first people to suggest that he publish his book on magical creatures. He told her about the magical war he'd been caught up with involving Grindelwald and Luna learned that he and Tina had indeed taken forever to admit their feelings for each other.

They had their son, Jacob, late in life and when Jacob met and fallen in love with Xara, she was ten years younger than him. They talked about living in America for a time and in Paris. They even lived a few years in Brazil. Luna loved listening to them talk about their past and about Rolf. It was clear they loved him very much. She was almost sad to see them go.

But once they were gone, Rolf turned her in his arms and kissed her deeply and Luna was happy to have him all to herself again. They spent the night wrapped in each other's arms as Rolf told her that they were going to head for Mount Olympus soon to give the Stymphalian birds a new home.

In the meantime, Rolf photographed the birds. They learned to trust him to some extent over the last week and hadn't attacked, but Luna thought that was as much a part of Rolf's gentle nature as it was the birds thinking things through. She sketched them and Rolf, watching as he worked with them. They landed on his arms, nicking his skin with bruises and cuts, but he didn't seem to mind.

He gave them names which charmed Luna. She loved that he took the time to give a name to every animal or magical creature they encountered. The birds were large and oddly beautiful as much as they were terrifying and when Rolf told her they were named Hermes, Athena, Atlas, Artemis, Hera, and Ares after the gods and goddesses, she smiled.

"When in Greece," he teased with a wide smile that made her want to kiss him. So she did.

Rolf just made her feel things. He made her want things that she couldn't put into words. She was starting to see her future just like this, traveling with him, shagging him, making a home with him. It both pleased and terrified her in equal measure because no one had ever made her feel this way before. The sex was a part of it, of course. Rolf was the only man she'd been with who bothered to put her first. The sex was stupendous and that hadn't faltered. He made her scream and she was always ridiculously satisfied.

But it was the little things too.

The way he always brought her tea in bed. The way he rubbed a palm between her shoulder blades when she was huddled over her notes or sketchbooks too long. The way he found plants or flowers for her when he was out and brought her back samples as if it was second nature. The way he spoke to magical creatures like they were his dearest friends and the way his eyes lit up when she did the same.

No, Rolf was so much more than just Rolf.

It was why she was in his magical suitcase and helping feed the magical creatures he had down there with a big smile. She loved coming down and helping him. She knew how hard it was on him to let a magical creature go after he'd bonded with it and other than the nifflers and bowtruckles, who were permanent fixtures, the others were constantly being healed and returned to their homes. Luna loved how every single time, tears rolled down Rolf's cheeks as he said goodbye. It moved her, his love and dedication to his craft.

It was part of him and she loved his big heart.

Helping feed the magical creatures gave her a joy she couldn't explain. She loved the soft smile Rolf gave her when she did so and she loved the animals and creatures that she got to play with and get to know.

So when it happened, she was feeding Norma on the plains and the sound of Rolf's sharp voice surprised her.

"Stop!" Rolf exclaimed.

Luna turned in time to see Hermes, one of the huge Stymphalian birds turn towards him. Rolf was holding onto the bloody steak in his hand, his wand out as he ordered the bird to stand back. Luna knew in that instant that the bird wasn't going to listen.

Rolf raised his wand to petrify the bird, but he wasn't fast enough.

A bronzed beak pecked his shoulder hard enough to draw blood and when he shifted, Luna knew that the next one would hit his head. She body slammed into him without thinking and something sharp stabbed her. She felt it break through her stomach before something else sharp followed and then another as something hot and wet poured out of her.

She saw Rolf's eyes widen in shock before she looked down at where her stomach was bleeding and then all she saw was the wild dark eyes of a Stymphalian bird as it tore her apart.

~ KE: Luna ~

Rolf screamed her name as he tried to disentangle himself from where Luna had thrown her body over his. By the time he managed to pull himself free, three of the birds were feeding on her. For the first time in his life, Rolf wanted to hurt a magical creature.

He sent a powerful stunning spell out and the birds were flung back. When Ares, Atlas, and Hera moved forward, he did the same with them and then locked them into their nest. Then he fell to his knees in front of Luna.

Her stomach was completely torn open and there was so much blood. He summoned everything he could to try to stop the bleeding, it pack it in, but the paleness of her skin and the greyish tinge that was fast approaching, terrified him to his very core. He wrapped her as best as he could before he picked her up and he ran.

Climbing out of the case was difficult and he was forced to put her over his shoulder which made her bleed more. When he reached the top, he slammed his case shut and carefully moved Luna again before he Disapparated with a loud crack. They landed in St Nicholas' Hospital in Athens and Rolf was frantic when he made it to the admin desk.

Healers came to take Luna from him and when they told him he couldn't follow, he collapsed to his knees, his whole body shaking.

"Are you all right, Sir? Sir, are you injured?"

Rolf shook his head.

It wasn't his blood.

It was all hers.

He was covered in it.

There was so much blood.

A dark haired man stopped in front of him, placing his hand on his shoulder. "Scamander? That's your name, right?"

Rolf nodded, his eyes meeting those of the man standing before him. He had striking blue eyes and silver flecks through his dark hair. He looked familiar, but Rolf didn't know where he could place him. The man noticed because he gave a small smile.

"Xander," he said, kindly. "We met at Harry and Ginny's wedding in July. I'm a neurohealer here at St Nicholas'. What happened? Are you all right? Is any of this your blood?"

Rolf shook his head, unable to speak.

Xander nodded. "Come on. Let's go sit over here."

Rolf let the man force him into a chair. A moment later a witch came over and passed Xander something.

"I need your signature on this, Healer Papakonstantinou."

Xander signed his name and passed it back to her. "Georgopoulos, can you please ask my wife to bring me in some clean clothes?"

"Of course," Georgopoulos said before hurrying off.

Rolf buried his face in his bloody hands as Xander kept his hand on his shoulder. "She has to be all right," he whispered. "She has to be all right."

"Would you like me to go check on her?"

Rolf nodded and when Xander left him, he felt a pang of fear that the man wouldn't come back. Or worse: That he would and he would tell him something awful. His hands were shaking as he stared down at them. They were covered in dried blood and all he could hear was her cries ringing in his ears.

Xander returned at some point, but Rolf had no idea how much time had passed since he'd left.

"They're working on her now," Xander said quietly. "It's going to be a while. Can I call someone for you?"

Rolf shook his head, tears rolling down his cheeks. "Is she going to be all right?"

Xander pursed his lips. "They're working on her."

"Healer Papakonstantinou, there are some Aurors here who want to speak to him."

Xander nodded and Rolf found himself staring at two tall blond Aurors wearing grim expressions.

"Are you Rolf Scamander?"

"Yes," he whispered, his hands still shaking.

"I'm Auror Galanis and this is my partner, Auror Diakos. We need to ask you some questions about what happened to Luna Lovegood today."

Rolf's hands shook. "What… is she going to be all right? Please, I need to know if she's going to be all right."

"They're working on her," Xander repeated.

Galanis pulled out a notepad as he spoke. "Mr Scamander, we're called in any time there looks to be something serious going on. Miss Lovegood's injuries suggest that she was attacked rather viciously. Can you please tell us what you and Miss Lovegood were doing prior to coming to the hospital?"

Rolf swallowed, trying to think. All he could see was Luna bleeding in his arms. He closed his eyes, trying to stop his hands from shaking.

"I… Luna and I are working here. She's a Naturalist and I'm a Magizoologist from Britain. We… we found some Stymphalian birds on the island of Donousa. I captured them and we were transporting them to a safe spot high on top of Mount Olympus so that they would stop attacking tourists and villagers."

"Stymphalian birds?" Diakos asked, raising an eyebrow. "Those are extinct."

"I thought so too," Rolf said. "Agent Dion Aetos was the one who mentioned them and we found six of them making a nest on the island. I know that they're dangerous, but I was taking precautions. We were taking precautions. And then they just… she pushed me out of the way."

"What was that?" Diakos asked.

"The birds… they were going to attack me and Luna pushed me out of the way," he whispered. "She pushed me out of the way. It was supposed to me. It's supposed to be me!" he cried.

Xander touched his shoulder as sobs tore through him. "I think that's enough questions today. I'll keep an eye on Mr Scamander here if you have any other questions."

The Aurors told him not to leave the country, but Rolf barely heard them. At one point a beautiful blonde woman arrived and said something to Xander. Then Xander was pulling him into a bath and handing him some dry clothes.

"Wash yourself up and put those on. The first thing Luna will want to see won't be you covered in blood."

Rolf only nodded and did as he was told. When he returned to the waiting room, he was holding tightly to his bloody clothes and the blonde woman who had brought him the new ones gave him a small smile.

"I'm sorry to meet you again under these circumstances, Rolf. Althea," she said when she caught him searching for her name. "I'll take those and wash the blood out for you."

"Thank you. Has there been…?"

Xander shook his head. "No, not yet."

Rolf collapsed back into a chair as he waited. Another two hours passed before he realized that he needed to call Luna's father and fear shot through him.

"Merlin, I just… I need to get her father here."

"The hospital's already reached out to him," Althea assured him. "He's on his way."

Rolf nodded, not feeling any better at that news. Xenophilius Lovegood arrived an hour later by international portkey and when he saw Rolf, he pulled the man into his arms and held him close.

"It's all right, Rolf," he whispered, pressing his lips to his cheek. "My Luna's strong. My Luna is fierce. I know that this wasn't your fault."

His words tore something inside of Rolf and he began to cry all over again as he babbled into Xenophilius' arms about how Luna had jumped in front of him.

"I shouldn't have let her in there," he sobbed. "I should have stopped her from helping me with the magical creatures. I should have stopped her."

"No one stops my Luna from doing anything," Xenophilius said. "When she sets her mind to something, nothing and no one can change it. She loves you, Rolf Scamander."

"I love her too," Rolf whispered, tears rolling down his cheeks.

Xenophilius used his thumbs to brush Rolf's tears away. "I know. Come, sit with me. We'll wait together."

The man held tightly to Rolf's hand and Rolf was grateful to him. Xander and Althea brought them food, but neither of them could drum up the energy to eat. Althea told them that they were heading home but left word to call them if they needed anything else. Rolf nodded his thanks and then he and Xenophilius sat there for another hour, maybe more before a healer finally came out.

"Mr Lovegood?"

"Yes?" Xenophilius asked, standing up and tugging Rolf to his feet with him. "My Luna?"

The healer took them both in for a moment before she spoke. "I'm Healer Ioanndis and I've been working on your daughter. She's alive for now, but I'm sorry to say that it doesn't look good. Luna sustained some serious injuries to her abdomen and chest. A punctured lung, a ruptured spleen, a damaged kidney, and appendix. We removed her spleen and kidney in the first operation. We lost her and had to stop to perform life saving measures to bring her back. A second operation required us to remove a portion of her lung as well as her appendix. From what we can tell, the birds devoured and destroyed part of her internal organs which is why they required removal. They also tore through a great deal of flesh and muscle and bits of bone. Some of the bone pieces caused more damage inside. She lost a lot of blood and we've been doing everything in our power to replenish it as quickly as we can."

Rolf was pale as he clung to Xenophilius' hand. "What… what are you saying?"

"I'm saying that her heart is working very hard to keep her alive, but the damage might be too great. We're going to bring her in for another operation in the morning if she makes it through the night to try to repair the rest of the damage."

"Go in now," Xenophilius said, his voice shaky. "Why do you have to wait?"

"Her body needs time to recover from the last two operations," Healer Ioanndis declared. "If she makes it through the night, we'll operate a third time."

"If?" Rolf whispered.

Healer Ioannids gave him a sad look. "I think you and Mr Lovegood should come and say your goodbyes."

Rolf couldn't breathe.

He squeezed Xenophilius' hand so tightly in his that his own hand went numb. The two of them walked into the hospital room together and Xenophilius moved to the bed to touch his daughter's hand.

Rolf couldn't tear his eyes away from her. Her long dirty blonde hair was pulled away from her face, plaited so that they could work on her. She was pale, almost grey and her chest and abdomen were wrapped in bandages. It was only then that Rolf noticed she had cuts and bruises on her arms as well. She looked small. Helpless. He wanted her to open her eyes, to show him those beautiful blue orbs that were always so bright, so curious, and so dreamy.

But she only lay there as still as death.

Xenophilius held his daughter's hand. "Luna, my lovely, Luna. Please, please don't leave me. What will I do without you? I need my Lovebug, my only. I can't watch you die like I lost your mother. Please, fight for your life. Fight, Luna. I know how strong you are. I know how brave. Show us one more time, please my Luna, please."

Rolf watched the man break down, feeling like he was intruding but unable to move his feet. When Xenophilius finally looked up, his eyes were bloodshot and his face streaked in tears.

"I'll give you a few moments with her," he whispered and left the room almost as quickly.

Rolf hesitated before he moved to the bed. He took up the chair that her father had occupied before he captured her hand and brought it to his lips.

"Luna… I'm so sorry. This is all my fault," he whispered, his tears rolling down his nose. "I never should have let you help me with the magical creatures. I should have paid more attention. I should have seen that they weren't adjusting, that they were thinking and calculating and… why? Why did you push me out of the way?"

He kissed her hand, using it to wipe his tears.

"It should be me lying here in this bed. It shouldn't be you. It should never be you. Luna, I… please, please stay with us. I can't lose you. I just found you. I… I'm shit at this and I don't know what to say except that I'm madly in love with you. Please, wake up so I can tell you that. I need to tell you that."

But despite his words, she didn't move or wake.

When Xenophilius returned ten minutes later, Rolf was still crying over her hand. The man told him to stay, surprising him.

"She would want you here," he said, kindly. "And I do too. I don't want to be alone, Rolf. She's all I have left."

Rolf pulled the man into his arms. "She's not. She's going to wake up, Xenophilus. She's going to wake up."

She didn't.

She crashed twice in the night and Rolf chewed his nails down to the skin when they brought her back.

In the morning, Healer Ioanndis told them that she was willing to perform the operation but they needed to understand that there was a very real possibility that she wouldn't wake up from it.

"Luna's body sustained a great deal of internal damage and while the human body can survive the loss of everything she has, it doesn't always mean it will."

"Do it," Xenophilius whispered. "My Luna would want you to try."

Healer Ioanndis nodded and ordered her assistant to prep for surgery.

Rolf kissed Luna's forehead and then her lips. "I love you, Luna Lovegood. Come back to me."

Then they watched as the healers took her away.

Rolf and Xenophilius sat together in silence and just waited for news. After an hour had passed, Rolf began to pace, chewing his nails until they bled. Xander and Althea returned, bringing them food and Rolf was grateful to these two people he'd met in passing at a wedding who were going out of their way to help him. Xander told him that the Aurors were probably going to come back to talk to him and Rolf only nodded.

The Aurors returned an hour later to ask more questions and then Agent Aetos arrived to talk to Rolf about the birds.

"Mr Scamander, we're going to need you to turn the birds over to the Greek Ministry," Agent Aetos said.

Rolf blanched. "And do what? I'm giving them a place to be safe."

"They're not safe," Aetos said. "I'm a Magizoologist as well and I understand the desire to protect all life, but there was a reason why Hercules was asked to slaughter all of them. They're dangerous. Too dangerous."

"I won't turn them over just to be killed," Rolf insisted. "I won't sanction the death of a magical creature."

"Even after that magical creature murdered your girlfriend."

"She's not dead!" Rolf exclaimed, but he couldn't help but hear the words not yet silently echoed in his brain like a chant.

"You have eight hours to bring them to the Greek Ministry," Aetos told him. "Or you'll be arrested for harbouring a Class XXXX magical creature and charged. If Miss Lovegood dies, manslaughter charges will be added."

When he left, Xenophilius touched his arm. "Are you all right?"

Rolf shook his head, but he couldn't form words.

An hour later, Healer Ioanndis finally appeared. "She made it through the surgery," she told them as relief tore through Rolf. "We were able to repair all of the remaining damage and we've given her flesh growing potions to help close up the wound. It's up to her now. If she survives the next twelve hours, there's a good chance, but right now she's not out of the woods."

Rolf nodded and he and Xenophilius headed to her room to sit with her and wait.

"What are you going to do about the birds?" Xenophilius asked in the silence of the room. It was eerily quiet minus the beeps and sounds coming from the charms and spells surrounding Luna.

"I don't know," Rolf admitted. "I need to get them somewhere safe where they can't harm anyone else, but I don't want to leave her."

Xenophilius nodded. "I understand that. You only have a handful of hours left to make a decision."

Rolf looked over at the case at his feet. He knew that. He knew that the logical thing to do would be to go down and to see how the birds were faring after their brutal attack on Luna, but the thought of leaving her…

"Go, son," Xenophilius said quietly. "I'll send word if anything changes."

Rolf hesitated half a second before he nodded. He didn't have a lot of time. He bent down and gently brushed his lips across Luna's. "I'll be back, Luna. I promise."

Then he grabbed his case and hurried out of the hospital. He walked briskly down the street and then he turned into an alley and Disapparated from Athens to Mount Olympus. He stared up at the mountain from the base, his heart pounding in his throat. He turned his case into a pack to wear on his back and then he began to climb.

The silence of the day, the hot sun beating down on him, it left him alone too much with his thoughts. He climbed for three hours straight before he stopped to take a break, drinking some water and eating a protein bar. Then he started to climb again. When he made camp for the night, he couldn't help but think that there had been no word from Xenophilius which told him that Luna had to still be alive.

He drank his water and rested before he finally popped open his case and headed inside. He made his way over to where he had trapped the birds and found them squawking and playing with each other and irrational anger rose over him. He marched over to the charmed area and stood out of their range.

"You hurt her," he whispered. "I was trying to protect you and you hurt her."

The baby one he called Ares bowed his head in what looked like shame and Rolf's hand clenched at his sides. Agent Aetos was right. Stymphalian birds were Class XXXX which meant that they were extremely dangerous and could only be approached by a specialist such as himself. He'd been stupid to even let Luna near them.

Hera squawked loudly, making him jump and he reached down to give them some bloody steaks to eat.

"Tomorrow we'll reach the top of the mountain and you can find a new home. I should let them put you down for what you did to her, but I…" His lip trembled. "Luna wouldn't want that. I don't want that. We'll bring you to a new home where you can't hurt anyone anymore."

Then he turned his back on them and tended to the other magical creatures in his care.

He slept fitfully and woke early, feeling unrested. He packed up his things and when he climbed out of the case, he locked it into place on his back once more and resumed his climb up the mountain. Rolf knew that climbing something like Mount Olympus wasn't for the faint of heart. It wasn't one of the more dangerous climbs in the world, but it wasn't an easy one either. It took the better part of two days to do so and Rolf knew that the Greek Ministry would be looking for him by now, but he needed to do this.

By the end of the second day, he finally made it to the top. He found an area where the birds could nest that was far enough away that they wouldn't bother people and then he opened his case and headed down to release them.

The suitcase had a special contingency that allowed him to open a door inside of the enclosure to allow the animals a chance to get free. He did so now and five of the six birds flew out immediately, disappearing into the sky with shocking speed. But when Rolf turned, Ares was still there, his dark eyes watching him.

"Go on," Rolf said. "You're free to go."

Ares blinked, but made no move to fly off.

"Go," Rolf ordered.

Ares landed on his shoulder instead and then nuzzled the top of his head. Tears rolled down Rolf's cheeks.

"You can't stay here. The Greek Ministry will execute you, Ares. You hurt Luna. You almost killed her and she's…"

Ares let out a song that was eerily beautiful and full of remorse. He nuzzled Rolf's head again and then flew back into the nest Rolf had built for him and settled in, refusing to go free.

Rolf stared at the bird for a long moment before he nodded. "All right. I'll figure something out."

Then he closed everything up and stepped out of his suitcase. While it was impossible to Apparate to the top of Mount Olympus due to the dangerous landing, he could Disapparate off of the mountain. He did and landed outside of St Nicholas in a flash. He barely stepped through the doors before Agent Dion Aetos approached him.

"Mr Scamander," Aetos demanded. "We need to know the location of the birds."

"I freed them," Rolf said. "They're living far away from where anyone can hurt them."

Aetos eyes narrowed. "Mr Scamander, freeing a Class XXXX magical beast after being ordered to hand it over to the Ministry for execution is a crime in this country. Do you understand?"

"Yes."

Aetos sighed. "You're just as stubborn as your grandfather."

Rolf's lips twitched slightly. "Thank you, Sir."

"That wasn't a compliment," Aetos muttered. "I'm going to have to arrest you on behalf of the attack against Miss Lovegood."

"No, you won't," Xenophilius declared, making Rolf turn to look at him. "My daughter isn't pressing charges."

"Mr Lovegood, it has nothing to do with her pressing charges. Scamander released a Class XXXX into the world when he was expressly told not to," Aetos began.

"Technically, you only told me to bring them to you," Rolf began. "You never said anything about me setting them free."

Aetos faltered. "Well, that's… Miss Lovegood was gravelly injured!"

"And she's made a full recovery," Xenophilius said, making Rolf's eyes fly to the man in astonishment. "You wouldn't want to hinder that recovery by arresting her boyfriend now would you?"

Aetos looked like he wanted to argue but he closed his mouth. He let out a slow sigh before he turned back to Rolf.

"I'll be reporting this to the British Ministry of Magic. We won't arrest you at this time, but you won't be allowed to work in Greece again any time soon."

"Understood," Rolf said.

Aetos nodded. "If you're not out of Greece in twenty-four hours, I'll have no choice but to arrest you, Scamander."

"I know," Rolf said.

Aetos wished him well and hurried off as Rolf turned to follow Xenophilius back to Luna's room. His heart was pounding in his chest, afraid that maybe Xenophilius had lied about her being awake so when he saw her, he froze in the doorway.

Luna was sitting up in the hospital bed, sipping water. Her blonde hair was draped over her shoulders and while still pale, she looked much more lively than before.

"Luna," he whispered, gripping the door frame for support.

Luna smiled. "Hallo, Rolf. Have you been having adventures without me?"

Rolf stumbled into the room and sat on the side of her bed, gripping her hand tightly in his. "Luna… I'm so sorry. I should never have let you near them. I should have known better and this is all my fault."

"No, it's not," Luna said, bringing his hand to her face and resting it against her cheek. "I remembered what your grandfather said and if I hadn't jumped in, that bird would have killed you, Rolf."

"It nearly killed you," he croaked, tears in his eye. "Luna… I can't lose you, I… I love you."

Luna's blue eyes brightened. "I know."

"You do?"

She smiled. "Yes. I love you, too. Now give me a kiss."

Rolf let out a strangled laugh before he did as he was told. He brushed her hair behind her ear. "I want to stay here with you, but I have to go. If I stay here much longer, the Greek Ministry will arrest me. I'll be at Grandpa's when you return to England."

Luna kissed his brow. "I'll come find you. We have a trip to Barbados to make."

Rolf nodded. "I love you, Luna Lovegood. You'll come find me?"

"Promise," Luna said with a smile. "Now go before you get arrested. I want to travel the world with you, Rolf, I don't want to have to visit you in a Greek prison."

He winked as he stood up. "I can't make that promise. Trouble sometimes finds me."

Luna chuckled. "I'll be by your side when it does."

Rolf bent down to kiss her. "I'll be waiting."

And when he turned back from the door to steal one more look at her, he knew she would find him.

Luna was his future and Rolf couldn't wait for it to begin.

~ KE: Luna ~

It took two weeks before Luna was able to leave Greece and return to England. It was mid November when she made it home and she did find Rolf at the home of Newt and Tina Scamander where Rolf's grandparents doted on her hand and foot. She spent another two weeks resting before she and Rolf headed out to Barbados to begin their next adventure.

They spent the next few years working and travelling the world together, popping in and out of England to visit family and friends. They brought Xenophilius a baby Jarvey their second Christmas together whom he named Jarvis and adored and made him love Rolf even more than he already did. Luna taught him to sing sea shanties and it made Rolf laugh.

After seven years together, Luna suggested that they get married and Rolf told her yes. He found her a beautiful engagement ring that was simple and very her. It held a circular moonstone in the centre with a pavé-set diamonds as side stones. It suited her perfectly as it symbolized someone who was both playful and elegant with a unique style; it was simplistic and simply Luna. He asked her properly under the stars and when he slipped it on her finger, they made love in the moonlight.

They had a small wedding of just close family and friends on the beach in Corsica in May of 2009 where they'd first met nine years earlier. Rolf wore white cotton trousers with an ocean blue short-sleeved button down open at the collar and no shoes. Luna wore a two piece white wedding gown. The top was made of transparent lace with cap sleeves and left her abdomen bare. She wore a white bathing suit top underneath it with a thick waisted floor length white skirt with a waist high slit on the left side trimmed in lace. Her toes were painted ocean blue and she was barefoot. She wore her hair in a fishtail braid down the right side with blue flowers braided through it. Harry and Ginny stood in their wedding along with Lily, the Potter's youngest child and Luna's goddaughter who was only eighteen months old, as the flower girl. The Potters' two elder sons, James and Albus watched the ceremony with their godfathers Ron and Theo.

Lily wore a baby blue spaghetti strap dress with blue tulle flowers on the skirt. She wore a large flower headband in her bright red hair and looked completely adorable and she knew it. Luna was charmed by her, especially by how easily the little girl already had Harry wrapped around her finger. Ginny wore a simple light blue spaghetti strap dress with lace flowers over her abdomen. The floor length gown had slits in the side and had a soft sheen to it that flowed in the wind. Harry wore the opposite of Rolf as he stood for him as his Best Man (the two had become good friends over the years), a white shirt and blue cotton trousers. He and Ginny were also barefoot and he held Lily during the ceremony.

The only other people present were Theo, Sebastian, Colin, Ron, Hermione, Xenophilius, Molly, Sirius, Zee, Oliphant, Newt, and Tina. It was a small ceremony and very bohemian and very, very them. They decided to marry themselves without an officiant in an old fashioned hand-fasting and said their vows for all to see before signing a marriage license right there on the beach.

It was perfect and the day was beautiful as the waves crashed on the shore. When Rolf kissed her, she knew that it was the most perfect day.

Two years later, Luna and Rolf welcomed twin sons to their family whom they named Lorcan Xenophilius and Lysander Harry Scamander. They stayed in England a year to raise their sons and then took off again to travel, bringing the boys along with them. Five years later, they were given a daughter whom they named Xara Pandora after both of their mothers.

When Rolf held Xara for the first time, sixteen years after watching his wife rise from the ocean naked at sunrise, he kissed the top of her head and then smiled at his boys lying on either side of their mother.

Luna smiled up at him. "What are you thinking about?"

"I'm thinking that the first time I saw you all those years ago, I never expected this. You've made me the happiest man alive, Luna Scamander."

Luna's dreamy smile met his. "Not as happy as you've made me. I love you, Rolf."

He bent down to kiss her and they all lived happily ever after…

End Author's Notes:

Here is Luna's family tree:

Luna and Rolf Scamander (2009):
Lorcan Xenophilius Scamander (11 July 2011)
Lysander Harry Scamander (11 July 2011)
Xara Pandora Scamander (13 September 2016)

Also, it's never said, but I decided that Pandora Lovegood was going to be the daughter of Ollivander because why not? Everything Luna tells Rolf about her travels are all things Luna has experienced in ASC, little nuggets peppered throughout the story like her riding an elephant in Africa and more. We will see more of Luna and Rolf peppered through but I hope you enjoyed their love story.

As to the Potter family tree, pieces of it have been shared throughout the Kismet Trilogy but other than the main ones of Linfred of Stinchcombe being the first Potter and his son Hardwin having six siblings (he was the eldest but I made him the youngest) and Hard-won marrying Iolanthe Peverell, all of the Potter names are made up by me until we reach Ralston Potter (who had a role in the Wizengamot in the 1600s), Abraham Potter (the Auror who went to America), Henry Potter (Harry's great-grandpa), and then Fleamont and Euphemia of course. I also made Charlus Potter the younger brother of Fleamont (I think he was originally a cousin or something). The rest of the family tree is all mine (including middle names) and yes, as Harry and Ginny have children Luna will add to it.
