A/N: Hello, got another chapter for this story. Hope you all enjoy it!

Also, to the Guest, Me-B-Wee-G, First, sorry I haven't responded to any of your messages. Fanfiction doesn't allow for that with Guests, so sorry. Second, yes, this is predominantly a Metroid Prime story with RWBY characters and references. And, I do mean Metroid Prime. Also, I'm sorry if you wanted a Samus Insert story… I do have an idea for something like a Smash Bros in the future, but it'll be a long time in coming, so if you want something like that, you'll have to wait a bit.

I do hope that you like the story, though.

Much love, Essiter.

Metroid Prime: Remnant

Chapter 3

Samus entered what she thought was an alien entry pod, only find that she had entered what appeared to be a Space Pirate Frigate. That, was unexpected.

She glanced around the room she was in, finding it empty before passing through to the next one. She immediately backpedaled as a modified missile turret wheel on her and immediately fired at her.

The missile flew in the room and exploded on the door behind her, opening back into the station. She frowned at that before glancing back into the room as she armed her missile launcher.

She took a moment for the turret to disarm before wheeling back into the room and firing the missile launcher at it as she locked onto it. It exploded on impact, knocking the turret off it's arm in a shower of sparks.

She then scanned the rest of the room, finding no threat and stepped into the room only to flinch as a stream of green energy bolts flew at her. Two of the five bolts struck her armored form as a cloaked Space Pirate appeared then and rushed at her, it's energy blade raised.

She dodged to the side again as she charged her Power beam for a counterattack. The blade just barely missed her as she did so. She turned then and locked on the Pirate as it turned towards her, and fired.

The orb of golden energy struck the alien mid chest and exploded, knocking it backwards against the wall. It struck with a metallic clang before falling bonelessly to the deck, dead as can be.

She checked for any other threats, but found none.

She opened the door connecting her to the rest of the spaceship and walked through, ready for anything. Which was "nothing" and a long corridor with three doors branching off into separate areas of the ship.

As she stepped into the corridor the "nothing" suddenly made itself known as three more cloaked Pirate Commandos dropped down from the roof and started either charging towards her or firing their blasters at her.

She dodged the incoming bolts of green energy and launched her last missile at the one charging towards her. It blew up in the alien's face but didn't seem to otherwise damage it as Samus began shooting at one of the other two.

One of the other Commandos then threw a grenade towards her as she charged up her Power Beam. She dodged the grenade and shot the beam at the alien. The grenade exploded behind her, killing the injured Commando as it made to slash at her again.

The Charged Shot killed one of the two remaining before Samus then overwhelmed the third in a fit on frustration. It died with a gurgle as it vomited up blood before falling over onto its face in a twitching heap.

Then she scanned the area again, checking for more Commandos, before absorbing the floating balls of energy, and the Missile Ammo as well. There were none.

She didn't know how many more Pirates were on board, but she wasn't taking any chances. She just wanted to get out of here after that fight on the station.

If any more of those things were around on the station she wanted to be prepared beforehand. And that meant getting to her gunship first.

Especially since she wanted contact Federation Command first, for more orders, if possible. This situation had already gotten out of hand.

She tried the door on the left, first. It was empty aside from the empty beds of the Pirate Commandos. She noted that there were six rack attacked to the walls. So, two more then. She left the room and tried the one on the right.

Again, empty. This time it was a data room. She scanned the terminals she found inside to find out why the Pirates were here. It wasn't good.

Pirate Log 23373AB

Date: [24 Cycles ago]

Log 01: Orders from Command, we are to investigate a new system tomorrow. The Scouts have reported evidence of Federation presence in system. Previous reports revealed a Sentient race on the third planet. Extensice evidence suggested meager resistance at best should a Raid prove necessary.

System logged for rations and supplies as necessary.

Date: [23 Cycles ago]

Log 04: Evidence found of Federation Research Station in orbit noted. Evidence found of Federation Base on planet noted. Possibility of potential resources 99.6%. Command has been informed

Awaiting further others.

Date: [ ERROR: Data Corruption]

Log 06: Orders from Command, we are to attack the Federation Research Station. Evidence of potential resources too good to pass up. While Federation is attacking those Fanatical Fools on their home world, we will strike from the shadows as all clever Pirates should.

Glory to Command! Glory to us all!

Samus frowned at that as she read over the logs that she was able to decrypt. So, that's where these Pirates had come from. Not remnants from the war but yet another branch of the coalition of Pirate species.

Brillant. Now what?

She shrugged. Now, she got out of here.

She turned and exited the room before turning toward the last door. As she opened the door she paused as her visor's sensor noted a faint movement from overhead.

She smiled at that.

Commandos. So easy to fight.

If one knew their tactics.

She armed her arm cannon before edging through the door into the room. It was yet another long corridor. This time with only one side door on the right and a door across from her.

As she fully entered the corridor a siren blared and red lights flashed and flared overhead. She looked up at that before glancing behind her as the door was locked down. Then she turned back into the room as the two Commandos decloaked and dropped down to roar a battle cry at her as a trio of defense turrets deployed from the ceiling and another one from one of the walls.

Samus began to move immediately as the turrets started to track her and the Commandos charged towards her. She shot twice with her missile launcher, blowing apart two of the turrets in the ceiling and damaging the third one, knocking its tracking off.

She grunted then as one of the Commando got a glancing hit on her, knocking her energy bar from 99% to 87%. She then tucked and rolled under the second one's attack before blasting it point blank as she came up into its personal space. The Commando flew away and rag-dolled as it landed, dead, even as the other one leaped backwards and flung a grenade at her.

It struck, blowing up in her face and blinding her as the EMP briefly fried her suit's systems. It knocked her energy bar down even further, 73%.

Samus shifted into her morph ball form then and dashed away from the Pirate, dodging bolts of energy from the remaining, functioning defense turret. The damaged turret blew itself apart as it launched a missile into the wall next to it at that point as she shifted back and turned to attack her remaining enemies.

She launched a missile at the last turret, destroying it before focusing on the last Pirate. Charged towards her for another melee attack as she charged her cannon. The charge shot blew the Pirate backwards, stunning it long enough for her to end it with a stream of rapid-fire energy projectiles.

She stood there, waiting, for the next threat. Ready, after that ambush.

She didn't have to wait long.

The door at the end of the corridor opened then and a squad of four Conscripts entered. Two were equipped with shields and the other two were Armored.

One of the two with shields tossed a grenade at her at the two Armored charged her.

She jumped backwards, dodging the explosive, before charging and shooting another ball of energy. The ball of energy blasted the armor off of the lead Armored, stunning it long enough for her to kill it with another rapid-fire burst, before launching a missile at the other Armored.

Once more, the explosive blasted its armor off and stunned it for her to kill it.

She then turned to the Shield-bearers as they began shooting at her. She dodged, ducking under their bolts of energy as another trio of Armored Conscripts entered from the door they were guarding.

Samus grimaced as she saw that before she continued to dodge around.

She jumped into the air as she charged her arm cannon and shot at the incoming, charging Pirates, twice. Both Charged Shots exploded on Armor, stunning their targets. She landed before dashing towards the Conscripts, charging her cannon once more.

As she closed with the last Armored Conscript, Samus delivered another insta-kill attack as she blasted it at point blank range. The powerful attack vaporized the armor plating and the flesh beneath as it launched the Conscript backwards into one of the two with shields, killing it as it slammed its ally into the bulkhead hard enough to to break its neck.

Samus then flung her Grapple-shot at the last Conscript and yanked its shield away before overloading its defenses with a frantic, rapid-fire burst. It fell backwards, dead.

As the last Pirate fell the alarm quieted and the the lights stopped flashing.

Samus paused then, waiting. Panting.

There was nothing.

She swallowed before sighing in relief. She had gotten cocky there. She couldn't do that again.

She decided to check the side room now that she had slain all her enemies and sighed in relief at what she saw within. An Energy Station. She could replenish her energy and her ammo with that.

She stepped into it after decoding the Pirates' Security, allowing it to do so before then leaving the room once more.

She sighed in relief as seeing that no new enemies had appeared as she did so.

As she went through the last door she felt the Frigate shuddered and another alarm went off as the lights began to blare again. Then her suit flashed a warning on her visor. The ship was self destructing!

Her eyes widened at that before she dashed through the next room. It was another corridor.

She ignored the five defense turrets within that activated and began to attack her as she ran past them and activated the door beyond. It led to an elevator.

She took it up towards the bridge and ran through the next door.

Inside the bridge various terminals were flashing red as they showed a countdown of the vessel's reactor before it went critical. Samus looked around, ducking under an incoming stream of energy bolts from the two Commandos and Conscripts within, as she tried to find an exit.

Her Suit connected to her Gunship then, directing it to her location. She defended herself, ducking behind one of the servers on the bridge, as she waited for the Gunship's approach. There's was only two minutes till the ship exploded.

/ /

She had just killed one of the Conscripts when she was notified of her Gunship's approach. The remaining Pirates turned towards the viewport as they noticed the Gunship beyond. The Pirate Commander shrieked an order at the others as he began to shoot at her ship.

It was too no avail.

The gunship ignored the incoming energy bolts as it opened up with a blistering rate of fire of its own. The heavy energy bolts destroyed the view ports of the bridge before killing any of the Pirates within that weren't sucked out into space.

Samus glanced around from where she was kneeling behind a terminal before standing up and dashing towards the central Viewport as armored plating began sealing the ruptured view ports. She jumped through the broken screen just before it was sealed and soared towards her gunship.

As she landed on the top of the vessel she magnetized to it and ordered it to withdraw before entering through the roof hatch as it pulled away.

Just in time, too, as the Pirate Vessel's reactor went critical and exploded violently. Her gunship barely evaded the initial blast, but not the resulting wave of radiation and electromagnetic energy.

The Gunship flipped and spun through the space around the station as the resulting energy wave struck it. Her gunship sparked and sputtered, shaking around her from all the energy striking it as she tried to maintain control of the vessel. She punched in a series of commands as the ship's power levels fluctuated.

Then she was knocked backwards in her chair as the central display exploded, knocking her out.

/ /

An indefinite time later…

Samus came to in darkness, slowly. She blinked her eyes as she saw a flickering green glow in the distance. She feebly lifted her hand and pressed a finger to her ship's commlink, activating. It.

"Hello! Hello! (Static) Are you there?!" A masculine, mechanical voice shouted at her. "If you can hear me (Static)! Get away from the station! I repeat, g(Static) away from the station! Now!"

She blinked, feeling something sticky against her forehead, and sat up, placing a hand against her head before shaking the fog from her mind. She noted how cold it was in the cockpit then. She punched in a few commands on her computer and twisted a knob or two as she tried to boost the signal.

"Hello! Hello! This is Director Ozpin!" The message said again. This time much clearer. "If you can hear me! Get away from the station! I repeat, get away from the station! Now!"

She turned and looked out toward where the station had been next to her and watched, her eyes widening with alarm.

"The station is falling! Get clear, now!" The Director continued to shout, on a recorded message.

Samus turned and immediately tried to shirt her ship out of the way as the station fell towards her. She punched in commands over and over again, but nothing was happening, the spaceship was dead, inert. She shifted and activated the emergency power supply. Nothing. The automatic feed was dead. She slammed a fist on her armrest in anger before switching over to manual control and and priming the power supply control lever once, twice, thrice.

The ship hiccuped into life as the emergency power restarted life support.

She reactivated the engines then and kicked the thrusters into overdrive. The engines burst into life and rocketed the ship forwards violently.

It just barely escaped the space station as it flew by, flames burst along the length of it as the station continued to burn and rupture in death. The gunship was then yanked behind it in its wake as it entered the planet's atmosphere.

The Gunship followed after it as the station was wreathed in flames on reentry.

A/N: Alright. Chapter done. Going to try and get a couple more done tomorrow for another story or two, but, in the meantime, I also have to finish packing for my move up to Jacksonville. In the meanwhile, I'm also going to finish reading th latest chapters of False Attribution, Schnee Dust Reborn, New Remnant Odyssey, and, oh, yes, Best Laid Plans (Yes, I love them all. And you should read them.)

Alright, good night... Or, good morning!
