Chapter 53: Uncertainty

Before anymore bickering could commence, Nodoka returned with Tenka in tow. Luckily school had already let out, so they hoped she wouldn't immediately find out. Ranka wasted no time as she got up and went and helped take some of the shopping bags from her mother, going off into the kitchen with her.

Tenka had her head down as she shuffled about. With a glance, Ranma had a feeling his mother was strict with her about leaving the house and that much more about, "if" she tried to run off. Her mood also showed, how maybe she had tried and found out the hard way. He couldn't help but snicker at the demon brat, in those regards.

Tenka bristled at him, having a feeling he was mocking her and lashed out, by grabbing a near by glass of water and flinging it on him, then sticking her tongue out at him, before dashing off. Ryoga was far away enough from Ranma, that he escaped the water's range. Ranma-chan shook her head off. " Hell brat!"

Nodoka stuck her head out from the kitchen with a disapproving look, then a wide eyed look as she strode over. " Ranma.. what on earth?" Ryoga cleared his throat. " The demon child just splashed him and ran off." Nodoka frowned as she went off to go find her. " Tenka! You need to apologize to your brother!"

Ranma-chan grumbled, before quirking an eyebrow at Ryoga. " I thought you'd stay quiet." Ryoga hehed. " Well I hate that demon child, more than I hate you." Ranma-chan gave him a look. " Gee, thanks for that.." She then shouted off towards upstairs. " I don't want that hell brats apology, because I sure as hell know she DOESN'T mean it!"

Nodoka had gotten a hold of Tenka and held her in her grasp as she kicked and fussed about. " NOW, say your sorry to Ranma." Tenka glared at Ranma, before sticking her tongue out. Ranma-chan had a frustrated look, as she pointed her finger at the demon brat. " See, what'd I tell ya! She ain't sorry!"

Nodoka looked distressed as she lectured Tenka, taking her off upstairs to her room. " YOU stay in your room, young lady and you think about your actions, until I come to get you. Think long and hard." She then shut the door behind her, as she slumped against the wall, as she broke down crying.

Ranka was busy, putting all the shopping away, but just shook her head back and forth about the whole thing. Once she finished, she thought she heard crying, which the guys weren't paying attention to as they were busy watching tv. She went off upstairs to find her mother with her head down, sobbing quietly.

It wasn't easily that you'd see Nodoka get so upset and Ranka sighed with concern as she went and sat down next to her mother, gently rubbing her back and comforting her, just as she had done for her in the past. Nodoka calmed a bit, but was still very upset. " I just wanted us all to be a family.." She said as she referred to Tenka.

She vented more about things. " I didn't want to believe she was so different from you, I.. thought you were the same.." Ranka didn't fault her mother, as she kept comforting her. " She's a real demon, so.. she might always keep fighting things and.." She felt bad but it was the truth. " Ranma will likely never accept her as family and I'm sorry mom, I feel the same way. It's not going to be perfect like you envisioned, or.. it'll take a long time to even make a dent."

She sighed heavily. " I thought maybe, but she's shown where her devotion lies and YOU need to be aware of that fact. I get that you don't want to have to kill a child." She fidgeted a bit from where she sat. " Just like how.. I won't ever reach your picture perfect vision of a perfect lady. It's just, not in me.."

Nodoka grabbed Ranka in a tight hug, as she held her close to her. " At least you try and that's what important.. You've come so far and I am very proud of you, Ranka dear. My selfish-ness is hurting our family." Her tears ran down her face. " Even still, I can't abandon the child.."

Ranka had a concerned look on her face. " Yeah, both me and Ranma get that, just we don't agree with it and that's just the way it is. Though your doing better than before and that matter's to Ranma especially, that your being strict with her."

Nodoka let go of her hold on her daughter as she sobbed. Ranka got up and went to go get a box of tissues for her mother, before she returned to sitting with her. She could at least be proud of Ranka, when it came between her and Tenka, she had taught her very well and it showed.

It wasn't too long before Nodoka had composed herself and went back downstairs, to find her daughter had hot tea waiting for her. She smiled gratefully as she sat down at the table with her, to enjoy it. Ranka offered to make a snack, seeing how her mother needed to relax. Nodoka didn't oppose to it, as she beamed proudly over her daughter. Even though Ranma was also a girl, at times, he was a boy. While her daughter wasn't a perfect young lady, she wasn't a horrible one either as she took her mothers needs into consideration in the feminine ways.

Once she was done making up the sandwiches she also offered to deal with Tenka, to which Nodoka allowed. Having permission she went off upstairs and let herself into the hell-brats room, startling her. Tenka tensed up. " What.. do YOU want?" While she was still shaken from her show down with the traitor, she also stood her ground about it. " You gonna throw food in my face again?"

Ranka ahahed with an annoyed smile. " WHO threw the food first, hmm? Or did you forget, it was YOU.." She gave her a dark glare that sent shivers up her spine. Ranka hehed. " Listen I get it, you hate it here, but you can't go back either. So, instead of being an ungrateful, little intruder, try to be decent. You might hate mom but she saved you. You'd be dead by now, other wise. I mean.. especially if some other demon hunter, crossed paths with you."

Tenka gulped. " There's more demon hunters? I thought, "she" was the only one!" Ranka smirked. " You thought wrong, it's just that mom seems to handle things mainly here, but she's NOT the only one. So you should be kissing up. Anyway's there's food, you'd better have some before Ranma and Ryoga eat your share."

Tenka huffed at her. " Your so lucky and you have no idea, to be wanted back by the great lord and you stick your nose up at such a generous offer." Ranka gave her a glare. " Generous my ass! When has "he" EVER been generous?! How is wiping all my memories and making me "his" puppet, generous, huh?!"

Tenka shook her finger at her. " It is, considering ALL the traitorous things you've done, for shame on you." Ranka gritted her teeth at her. " YOUR on the wrong side and better get that through your head!" Tenka huhed. " Are YOU calling me dumb?!" Ranka hehed. " I didn't say anything, but you just did." She then gave her a glare. " So.. HOW do you know about "his" recent generous offer, huh?" Tenka sweated. " Just, it's.. it's a feeling, because I know how the great lord is."

Ranka gave her a suspicious look. " Uhuh, well eat or wait till dinner, I could care a less, but mom does care about your stinky butt." She waved her off as she took her leave.

A few minutes later Tenka made her way downstairs, just in the knick of time to get one sandwich, which made her bristle as she yelled at Ranma and Ryoga about it. " YOU pigs! Especially you.. big brother..." Nodoka frowned as she sipped her tea. " Tenka, they are growing boys." Tenka ughed. " Really, it's Ranma who should be the pig-boy, not the pig-boy." Ranma glared at her. " At least I'm not a hell demon spawn, brat!" Tenka hahed. " YOU wish you were that great." Nodoka trembled with anger, which she was trying greatly, to hold back.

Ranka acted in her stead as she had bolted out from her chair and dashed over to where Tenka was, then giving her a good, hard slap to her face, with a dead serious look on her face. " That's enough.." Tenka blubbered and also glared at Ranka, before going back to blubbering, then she started bawling, before she bolted out from her seat, dashing off upstairs to her room, slamming the door shut.

Nodoka and Ryoga were both wide eyed. Ranma hahed. " You tell that hell brat, Ranka." Nodoka fretted a bit, though she had held back on doing it, she felt her daughter went a bit too far. " Ranka dear, you shouldn't have hit her so hard." Ranka hmpfed as she sat back down. " She needed some sense, slapped into her, at full force." Ranma nodded in agreement. " Yeah!"

Nodoka frowned at them both, then directing her attention back to Ranka. " Ranka, being a martial artist like your brother.. you are far stronger." Ranka had a dull look on her face. " I held back, some." Nodoka shook her head in dismay. " Ranka dear, I don't think you understand what, "holding, back." implies." Ranka frowned. " I could've knocked her across the room, but I didn't, so.. I held back." Nodoka hung her head and sighed deeply, as there was no reasoning with either of her children on violence, with them both being martial artists. Ranka argued back. " Besides mom, you know she's not really a little kid, she's a she-devil, it's not a big deal. They are very strong."

Nodoka rubbed at her forehead with her fingers. " Ranka sweetie.. you were too rough, regardless." Ranka huffed. " I was not.." Ranma nodded in agreement. " Yeah cmon mom, it wasn't that bad." Ryoga jumped in as well. " She's lucky that Ranka held back. Maybe she didn't hold back as much as you would've liked Mrs. Saotome, but that's just how she is." He smiled with a stupid grin.

Perhaps her mother didn't approve but Ryoga loved it, it was part of the many reasons why he loved Ranka. She was fierce, but could also be on the gentler side. Nodoka was out numbered on the matter and thought better of trying to comfort the demon child, as she was guilty of almost doing the same thing, though it would've been far gentler.

8888

With so much going on, Nodoka was not feeling up to doing too much and opted that they get take-out for dinner. Once they settled on the place, Nodoka went upstairs to share the menu with Tenka.

Tenka didn't hold back on her rage. " Your daughters just as horrible as YOU are!" Nodoka sighed before furrowing her brows at her. " While I agree Ranka went a bit too far, you went further and that's what earned you for your disrespect. I will own up that I have trained Ranka, a bit too well, but she is also a martial artists like her brother and very violent. I don't have much control over that and I apologize."

She showed her the food menu. " We've decided on take- out tonight, so tell me Tenka, what you would like." Tenka hmpfed as she snatched the menu away from her and browsed it, before pointing at a super spicy item. " I want that." Nodoka couldn't help but giggle as she took the menu back. " Alright." She had a feeling that she would pick something spicy but not that she'd go for the hottest one.

After awhile of having put in the order, the food arrived and along with it Shampoo. She smiled at seeing her airens. " Nihao, Ranma, Ranka and mother!" She gave a glare at seeing Ryoga. " Niaho.." She said in a cold tone. She then also greeted Tenka. " Niaho.. demon child.."

She had her grandmothers permission to stay for a while as she joined them for dinner. Tenka's eyes sparkled at her super spicy noodle dish, to which she dabbed more, with her hot sauce onto it, getting disgusted looks from everyone else. She mmhed as she dug into it, for the first few seconds she enjoyed it, till it started to burn her throat some, making her take to her water. Which earned her snickers from Ryoga and Ranma.

Shampoo was too busy, fussing over Ranka as she fed her a piece of ramen, which got a jealous look from Ryoga, to which she smirked about. She then tried her hand with getting Ranma to accept, but failed as usual. She also had to jab into Ryoga at every chance she got, as she tried to push pork dumplings on him once again.

Ranka got annoyed. " Knock it off Shampoo, he's not going any where.." Nodoka nodded in agreement. " She's right dear, you should all be getting along." Shampoo pouted. " Shampoo no want to share." Nodoka sipped some of her ramen broth. " Well then Shampoo, perhaps you should make other arrangements." Shampoo sweated. " Ah.. no, is okay."

The rest of the meal went by peacefully as did clean up. After that Shampoo was forcefully, playing with and styling Tenka's hair, with her stuck on her lap. She had put buns in her hair, but styled them so they looked like pointy horns, almost. Ranka passed a hand mirror over, so the demon brat could see, she beamed at the make shift horns with admiration.

Shampoo looked down at her with a scary smile. " Demon child hurt my Ranka, Shampoo give you kiss of death and kill YOU." She could feel the battle aura from the amazon, making her gulp. Ranka laughed nervously. " No, kiss of death, okay Shampoo.." While Shampoo's fierce ness, made Tenka shudder, she also had admiration for how deadly she was.

Shampoo smiled at her, as she set her down on the ground, it wasn't a friendly one, it was a warning that if she stepped too far, she would do it. It wasn't that much longer, that Shampoo took her leave.

Most of the time Ryoga had been in a happy, dumb, daze, over what Ranka had said before, about how "he" wasn't going any where, when Shampoo tried to object. She was just stating the facts, but in his imagination, he saw it as something, entirely different.

Ranka gave Tenka a look. " You'd better take what Shampoo said seriously. She already kissed Ivory, maybe Alley too." Ranma smirked at her. " Yeah, she's relentless and won't stop chasing after you." Ranka nodded in agreement. Ryoga hahed. " Boy am I glad I'm not a girl, just for that reason."

Nodoka fretted a bit. " While Shampoo is both of your fiancee's, I do wish you both hadn't gotten yourselves involved with such a vicious woman.." Ranma groaned. " It's pops fault!" Ranka muttered. " "She" involved herself with me and I didn't mean to make a promise..." Tenka tsked both her siblings. " BUT you both did, and now you are stuck with her, haha!" Nodoka frowned. " Tenka, stop teasing your brother and sister.."

8888

Once they had finished with dessert and clean up, Nodoka gave both her daughters a bit of a stern look as she rolled up her sleeves. " Alright, Ranka, Tenka, you both need a better understanding of how to be gentle." Tenka growled as she pointed at Ranka. " I'm not the gorilla here!" Ranka gave her a death glare as she curled her lip at her.

Ryoga couldn't hold himself back as he marched over and whacked Tenka over the head with fury in his eyes. " HOW DARE YOU, DEMON BRAT!" How dare you, call Ranka such a thing!" Nodoka frowned a bit, but had to commend him, because he did a manly thing and defended his fiancee. Though she made sure it didn't go further. " Tenka.. apologize to your sister this instant."

She gasped as her son, gave Tenka a harder whack than Ryoga had. " Hell-brat!" Nodoka yelled. " Ranma!" Ranma and Tenka locked eyes as they glared back and forth at each other. Ryoga was too busy trying to calm Ranka down. " You're far from such a thing Ranka, don't listen to the demon child. I know your not."

Ranka got a bit flustered as she nodded. Ryoga then turned his attention on Nodoka. " I'm sorry Mrs. Saotome, but I don't agree with trying to force Ranka to be gentler. She's fine the way she is." That made her face reddened more.

Nodoka hustled the boys off to do something else, before dragging her girls off into the kitchen. Ryoga hung his head, at seeing the Saotome matriarch was not going to listen. Ranma shook his head, as he felt the same way and knew it wouldn't go well.

Off in the kitchen, Nodoka was determined as she made up some quick to make, jello, for one exercise. Next she told both her daughters about a recipe she wanted each of them to make and how much care had to go into making it. " If you treat the souffle with care, you will get the best result." Tenka huffed. " This is dumb.." She then smirked at Ranka. " But I bet I can be way more gentle than a gorilla." Ranka hahed at her.

Back in the living room, Ryoga was listening intently. " How does baking "that", compare with martial arts?" Ranma looked annoyed from where he was sitting on the couch. " Your guess is as good as mine." While he felt bad for his sister, as usual he was also glad it wasn't him, that had to go through such a silly thing.

In the kitchen, Ranka took care with the recipe and directions that her mother had given, while on the other hand, Tenka was stirring her batter, furiously. Nodoka bit her lip, as she had to let them be, as this was an important lesson. Even if one wasn't following the directions. When stirring was done, then it was time to put them into the oven. Tenka shoved her's off in with a fling, instead of taking her time.

Nodoka watched the time, as she timed out the quick, jello. Once she pulled out the two, small set she had made up, she placed them both on two separate plates on the table. She then instructed them on how she wanted them to slice the jello up with butter knives, taking care, to be able to slice up six slices, without the jello, falling apart.

Tenka hahed, as she rolled up her sleeves. "Too easy." While Nodoka made sure she had a few seat pillows, so she was propped up enough, while sitting at the table to be level enough with it. She sliced into the jello, with the knife, brashly. Ranka on the other hand, took her time as she went up against such a wiggly foe. She heard Tenka argh as one of her sliced pieces, had already, fallen to ruin.

She tried again, with the same speed and impatience, which boiled further as there was more ruin to her jello piece. In anger she yelled and beat her fists down, on top of the jello, smashing it into pieces. Ranka curled her lip as she shielded herself from the mess, as her gem lit up, and her barrier was up just in time.

Nodoka gasped. " Tenka! That's enough of "that! YOU are done with the jello, young lady!" She then took a napkin, as she wiped some of the mess off from her face. That wasn't enough for Tenka as she took out her anger further, smashing her fist down, smushing some of Ranka's jello. Nodoka yelled in frustration as she grabbed up Tenka from her seat. " TIME OUT!" She then took a kicking and screaming Tenka off upstairs to her room, to do, just that, before she returned back downstairs.

The boys couldn't help but watch, with Ranma un able to hold himself back as he hahed. " Tell me why you thought a hell-brat, would want to be gentle, again?" Ryoga couldn't help himself either, as the moment was so opportune for pay back. " Yeah, now we know where that gorilla is." Ranma chuckled, while Nodoka had her arms crossed and was frowning. Ranka looked annoyed but it wasn't about them taking shots at the demon-brat, she was more centered on how Tenka had lashed out.

Nodoka hushed the boys as she stuck to finishing the tasks. When Tenka's time out was over and she was brought back down, they moved on to dealing with the souffles as the timer went off. Nodoka coaxed them with instructions on how careful and quiet you needed to be with such. Tenka still had a bug, up her butt, over the jello and at seeing her souffle, not looking up to the challenge, she screamed when the oven was opened. Which in turn made Ranka's souffle, deflate from the disturbance. Nodoka gave Tenka a stern look. " Tenka! That was NOT nice.."

Ranka had a dull look on her face as she huffed. Tenka cackled, as she pointed at her. " YOU, LOST!" Nodoka furrowed her brows as she grabbed Tenka up, carrying her off upstairs. " Bed time!" Tenka just kept cackling, as she felt she had sabotaged Ranka enough, to make herself feel better.

Ryoga had come over, determined to comfort Ranka, un sure of how she was taking things. " Don't worry Ranka, I know you won." Ranka hahed. " Oh, I know I won." Ryoga laughed nervously in reply. Ranma finally came over as well, shoving Ryoga out of the way. " That's right." Ryoga growled as he shoved him back. " Hey! That, was un called for, Ranma!" Ranma taunted him. " Aww, is the little piggy hurt? Does he need Akane to baby him?" Ryoga got all red in the face. " Hey, shut up, Ranma!"

He got all flustered at seeing Ranka, giving him a bit of a glare, before getting up from the table, and disappearing off into the downstairs bathroom. Ranma shook his head at him. " It's not looking good for you, P-chan." Ryoga glowered with his fists tightened. " It's because of YOU.." Ranma pfted at him. " It's because you got defensive about it, man. Like, you got something to hide? You were thinking about it, weren't you?"

Ryoga got more flustered. " I was NOT!" Ranma in turn started to make pig noises to bug him more. He had been too intent on mocking his rival, to note that his mother had come back downstairs and caught him in the act, as he heard a loud "ahem."

8888

Before she could lecture her son, the phone rang and her attention was drawn away from him, for the moment. The call was short and to the point, having another demon hunting, job to attend to. She called out for her daughter, letting her know to get ready for the job, before rushing off to get ready, herself.

At hearing her mother's voice, Ranka came out from bathroom and rushed off upstairs, to get herself ready. It didn't take either of them very long to get ready, as they soon, came back downstairs and went about to gathering up their weapons. Ranma and Ryoga stated how they wanted to go along as well. Nodoka fretted. " Someone has to stay and watch over Tenka." The boys, wrestled over that fact, with Ranma backing off and letting Ryoga go, instead. Only because he factored in how, even though he couldn't psychically go and be there, thanks to his connection with his sister, he would be able to find out what would be going on.

Within seconds, they were all gone from the house, having left Ranma in charge of it. They rushed off to the usual, problem area, the park. Ranka was still flustered, so wasn't able to psychically, hold Ryoga's hand. She did the next best thing, so he wouldn't get lost and it spared her getting too distracted. Having made sure he was able to keep up, she made sure their was a barrier around them. So if he ended up off course, beyond the barrier, he'd smack into it and would not be able to wander further than that.

He was able to keep up with her, for the most part and never ended up straying enough to meet the barrier. Nodoka was in her demon hunter, gear as she un-sheathed her katana at seeing a demon, rushing forward at full speed. Ranka followed suit, echoing her mothers motions as she cut her own demon down, with her own katana.

Under her mothers guidance, she had put on a fox face, mask, to try to hide her face, while demon hunting. Ryoga tried to keep as many of the demons from getting too close to either of them, by fighting with his fists.

Ivory jumped down, from a near by tree, as she manipulated her purple gems powers, generating a whip, which she lashed out at, at all of them, though she was most focused on Ranka. She laughed about the mask. " Really?! Oh, you're hilarious to think that I don't know, that it's "you", Onna. WE, ALL know, hell's greatest traitor, regardless of how you try to hide it."

Ranka huffed as she took the fox mask off, only having done so because of her mother. She had a feeling it was pointless, but went with her whim. Instead of exchanging banter with her, she lashed back with a glare. Ivory growled a bit as she changed her whip's form, into a sword, just as Ranka's clashed with it. She was angry, she wasn't getting any response from her. She clanked her weapon into hers, furiously. "What! Got nothing to say?! Your just going to kill me again?!"

Nodoka came out from no where as she charged, straight at Ivory, with her katana wielded and would've slashed her, if another demon, didn't cross blades with hers. Ryoga kept fighting his way through the demons, as he tried to close the gap between him and Ranka and Nodoka.

Ivory snarled as backed off enough, so she was able to escape, back up into a tree. She then pointed her sword tip, in Ranka's direction with a sneer. "The master has decried it, and put a bounty out on YOU!" Ranka just glared at her, as she jumped up into the air and was soon, standing on the same tree branch as she was and about to slash her, with her katana. Ivory yelled as she disappeared into the shadows, a bit faster, but earned a slice from the blade.

She gritted her teeth as she jumped back down to the ground and rejoined her mother, as they moved about in sync, cutting down a bunch more of their foes. Ryoga bridged the gap, so he wasn't very far from them now.

It wasn't long before they had finished and headed back. Nodoka fretted over the mask. " Ranka, you shouldn't have taken the mask off.." Ranka sighed. " I know you meant well mom, but it's like Ivory said, there is no hiding, every demon, knows who I am and that we're always together. So, no matter what I wear or look like, they know." Nodoka wrung her hands in distress. Ryoga nodded in agreement. " I know you just want to protect Ranka, but there really is no way to hide."

Nodoka looked very upset as they kept walking. " I've endangered you, even more.." Ranka gave her a concerned look. " I told you mom, danger will always follow me.." Nodoka hung her head as they made their way back to the house. They weren't too far when Ryoga tried to wander and met the barrier, as he bumped into it and made Ranka giggle a tad. That in turn made him laugh nervously, as he knew, she was keeping him from getting lost.

She turned her attention back to her mother as they got back inside the house and went off upstairs to change and wash up. " I'd be a lot more danger if you hadn't taught me about demon hunting." That made some of the weight of guilt, that she was feeling, lighten. Nodoka smiled as she took a warm wash cloth and wiped some blood from her daughters face.

A few minutes later, they had all gone off to bed for the night, with Ranma-chan coming into the room not too long after. She looked grumpy, with her arms crossed. "So, that jerk put a bounty of you.." Ranka smirked for a brief second. " You expected any less? I mean, I stopped his snow and his plans. Well we both did, but, I'm the bigger thorn in his side."

Ranma-chan grumbled. "Yeah well, "he's" just pissing me off more!" Ranka had a sad smile on her face. " It's like I told mom, danger will ALWAYS be around as long as I am. "He" won't stop.." She didn't dare say anything further or she'd earn her siblings fury, but knew it'd be so easy to bring them peace, if she left.

She still earned some of the fury, as Ranma-chan had caught on, as she gave her an upset look. " What'd I say?!" Ranka looked distressed. " I can't help it, it's true, okay!" Ranma-chan furrowed her brows at her before looking really upset, putting her hands on her siblings shoulders. " I'm NOT going to lose my sister to some spoiled jerk, okay! I don't care how many tantrums that damned monster has, neither does mom.. You know she'll drag you back, by force.."

Ranka gulped and nodded, to which Ranma-chan took her hands off from her shoulders. " Everyone would.." She went back to crossing her arms as she was still very upset, about what was going on. " So, did they give any specific's about the bounty?" Ranka went off to her bed, with a nervous smile for a second. " Try, every demon.."

Ranma-chan frowned as she opened the window, for some cooler air. " Yeah well that's smart, considering you slay demons." She said with a big grin on her face as she fanned herself, with her hand. " I'll close it in a minute." She said as she referred to the window. Ranka shrugged her shoulders as she pulled out a magazine to browse.

Ranma-chan was trying to calm herself down, by the window as she quirked an eyebrow at her sister. " Don't tell me, you like taking those dumb quizzes?" Ranka kept to her browsing as she tensed up some. "It's hard enough to fit in, with most of the girls at school, okay. A lot of them, like this junk."

Ranma-chan was about to say something, but yelped, as she jumped away from the window as an all to familiar looking cat, leapt through the open window, with a black crow, hanging from it's mouth. Ranka put her magazine down, looking annoyed. That changed within seconds at seeing Shampoo was in her cat form, with a crow, in her mouth. Ranma-chan had backed up really fast, her back up against the wall. Ranka got up out from bed, getting ready to go close the window.

She yelped as another crow appeared as it cawed loudly, as it zipped in through the window, flapping it's wings about furiously, making her stumble back from surprise. Ranma-chan was still pressed back, up against the wall. " Oh, great!" Shampoo kitty yowled as she dropped her hold on the one crow, before leaping up into the air with a jump at the flying one.

Suddenly the door flew open and Ryoga was standing in the door way, about to say something, but he was jumped on by Ranma-chan, as she clung onto him, as Shampoo kitty, got too close to her. Ryoga gahed at her, using him like he was a chair, to stand on. " What the hell, Ranma?!"

Nodoka appeared suddenly from behind the lost boy. " What on earth, is going on, here?!" She demanded to know. She sweat dropped at what she saw, a purple and pink cat, jumping around and trying to nab a crow, and Ranma, perched on top of Ryoga's shoulders.

Shampoo kitty, leapt up really high as she smacked the crow in the face, slashing at it with her claws as she hissed loudly. It yelled as it dropped to the ground, having been hit, directly. Ranka just stood there, looking bewildered at everything that was going on. Nodoka stormed into the room, grabbing up both of the crows, then putting them outside the window, before she promptly, shut the window. When that was done, she grabbed up Shampoo kitty, by the nape of her neck, taking her out of the room and off to the bathroom.

Ranka blinked a few times, before following after her mother, to deal with Shampoo, before her mother did. Ranma-chan, un tangled herself from Ryoga, with a frustrated look. Ryoga hehed at his rival, with a fanged smirk, that said it all.

8888

With Ranka taking over with things, Nodoka took her leave, going back to her room. Shampoo surfaced from the hot water in the tub. Ranka quirked her eyebrow at her. " Mind telling me, what the heck you were doing, Shampoo?" Shampoo smiled brightly as she jumped out from the tub, as she tried to glomp onto Ranka. " Aiya, woda airen, Ranka!" Ranka made sure to wrap the towel, she had been holding around her, so their was towel between them.

Shampoo nuzzled herself against her other airen. " Those birds were being too nosey, so Shampoo turn into cat, to teach them lesson." Ranka scratched at her head, a bit flustered. " Yeah but, you upset Ranma." Shampoo ignored her on that matter as she continued her assault of affection on the red head. Ranka finally removed her from being on her. "It's late, so you can stay till tomorrow. Wait here a sec." She rushed off to the room, to grab some of her clothes, for the amazon to wear.

When they both got back to the room, Ryoga and Ranma-chan were bickering back and forth. Though Ryoga stopped as soon as he spotted Ranka. " Ranka, are you okay?" Shampoo had her arms crossed, with her brows furrowed. " Thanks to Shampoo, Ranka is. Now shoo shoo." Ryoga frowned as Shampoo, shut the door in his face.

Ranma-chan scratched at her head, seeing how Shampoo wasn't lying. " Your telling me those birds were after Ranka?" Shampoo nodded as she latched herself around Ranma. " Woda airen, Ranma." Ranma-chan groaned as it was her turn to feel the amazon's affection. She tolerated it less than Ranka had though, as she immediately removed her. " Cmon, knock it off Shampoo. So those damn crows, were demon assassins then.."

Shampoo gave Ranma-chan a look. " What you talking about, Ranma?" Ranka sighed heavily, seeing no way around it, now. " Well the devil, put an all out bounty around hell on me, so who knows." Shampoo hmpfed with her arms crossed. " Shampoo get rid of ALL crows then." Ranka sweat dropped. " That's a bit over kill.." She fidgeted with her red gem necklace. " I'm not so sure, if they were demons, my gem likely would've reacted, or my holy knife." She thought on it for a second. " I mean, they could've just been crows.."

Shampoo hmpfed again. " Shampoo no care, too many crows around my airens." Ranma-chan sweat dropped, feeling a bit bad for crows, in general. Ranka hmmed with her arms crossed. " Thanks Shampoo, but how about, if you see another crow around, just bring me one and not in your cat form, if you can help it. You know, more for Ranma's sake."

Ranma-chan at seeing how Shampoo was sticking about, said a speedy good night as she saw herself out, not wanting to be attacked by the amazon again. Taking the chance to go and turn back into a guy, going back to his own room, seeing how he knew Shampoo would not allow Ryoga to try anything.

The night went by in a flash, as the alarm buzzed loudly for another day. Ranka groaned as she tried to move her arm, but a sneaky amazon girl, had herself wrapped around her, upper body. Having to resort to stretching and moving about enough, she was able to reach her leg out, to hit the alarm with. Shampoo curled up more as she squeezed her. " Ranka no go to school, stay with Shampoo."

Ranka yawned a bit, while she tried to reason with the amazon. " Yeah well, I have school and don't, "you" have work?" Shampoo pouted as she let her hold on the redhead go. " That right.." Ranka had already taken the opportunity to get up and leave the room.

When she came back, she started to get ready for school, tossing off her sleep wear, as she pulled on her school uniform, then going about to doing her hair. " You can keep borrowing my clothes, you've got on, or whatever." Shampoo blushed in response, with a happy smile.

A few minutes later, everyone was at the table, eating breakfast together. Of course Shampoo took the opportunity to taunt Ryoga, as she played with the shirts collar. " You sure Shampoo can wear whatever Ranka wears?" Ranka had finished her breakfast and dabbed her mouth with her napkin, with a bit of an annoyed look. " Yeah, were you not paying attention?" Shampoo giggled with a smug smirk in Ryoga's direction, as she could see how jealous, the lost boy was looking.

Ranma was too busy, enjoying the food and wasn't able to tell, that Shampoo was taunting Ryoga, it hadn't crossed his mind. The same for Ranka, neither of them knew. Tenka on the other hand was able to tell, the scheme at play and couldn't help but snicker about it.

When the two siblings, made their way out the front door for school, Ryoga followed them as he took his leave. Ranma had his arms behind his back as they walked. " About damn time, the porker's leaving." Ryoga hahed. " You wanna fight?" Ranka sighed as she kept walking. Ryoga tightened his fist. " You'd like that, wouldn't you Ranma?!" Ranma tightened his fist. " Hey, your the one that said it, man." Ryoga bristled up. " I know what your up to, you're trying to get Ranka mad at me." He tightened his hold on his back pack straps, before he took off running.

Ranma snapped his fingers. " Darn." He was in a good mood as he had escaped from having to deal with Shampoo last night and how the sky was blue and there was hardly any snow anymore. He couldn't help but wonder if his sister was annoyed about last night. " Hey, your not mad about last night, are ya sis?" Ranka looked over at him. " You should already know the answer." Ranma quirked an eyebrow at her. " Well, are ya?" Ranka quirked an eyebrow back at him. " Not really."

He could tell she was fretting over something, though. " Did you have nightmares again? Don't tell me, it was about snow again.." He said with a frown. Ranka shook her head, back and forth, but still looked upset. "Sorta.. With how relentless the attacks have gotten and stuff, I think, our reluctant fiancee's should have protection."

The rest of the walk to school, they switched the conversation through to their mind link. Ranma agreed and felt it was best that Ranka be the one to try to talk Akane into agreement. He'd just get too frustrated with her stubbornness and lash out, more so than his sister would.

That time came when it was time for gym class, where after changing and looking through the lockers, one last time before class, did she approach Akane. It was a touchy subject, so Ranka was still a bit nervous about it, as she fidgeted about. " So um Akane, things have gotten really dangerous now." Akane gave her a look. " Aren't the always?" Ranka scratched at her head some. " Yeah but it's even more dangerous now and it's not just about me. You say.. that I'm your fiancee too, right?"

Akane rubbed at her cheek with her finger. " I already said so, stupid.." Ranka got a bit flustered as well. " Yeah, so.. I want to make sure your protected." She pulled off one of the necklaces, from around her neck and held it out to Akane, her face flushing more. " So uh, I want you to wear this.." Akane wrinkled up her nose and crossed her arms. " Oh, because YOU think I'm weak, right?! I can take care of myself! I don't need your help, okay!"

Ranka groaned at getting Akane's stubborn streak. " It's not just me Akane, Ranma agree's that you should have extra protection." Akane tightened her fists. " I don't care, I'll tell him the same thing, I don't need any help!" Ranka sighed as she was half tempted to mock her, but got a better idea. " Well okay, I guess I'll just give it to Ukyo then, since you don't want it."

Akane bristled at hearing that, and was quick to snatch the necklace from Ranka's hand, as she put it on. " Alright already!" She then looked a bit concerned. " Just, don't over do it.." Ranka hehed. " I appreciate the concern but like I said before, it's not a problem." Akane hmpfed. " Not with an attitude like that." Ranka quirked an eyebrow at her. " Right, like "you" didn't just pitch a fit at me, with your own attitude just now."

Akane arghed in frustration as she stormed out from the locker room, removing herself, before she got too much more angrier. That and she didn't want to admit that was true.

Ranma breathed a sigh of relief at seeing them and that Ranka had been successful, such a thing would've been too embarrassing for him to do. He was thankful that she was able to do a lot of things, that he couldn't. Even in his girl form, some things were too much. Such as presenting Akane with jewelry.

Gym class went by in a flash, and when they got back to regular classes, Ranka was easily, able to get Ukyo to accept a gem necklace. Akane watched intently, before she turned her head away and hmpfed, loudly. While she was annoyed, the fact that she was asked first, kept her grounded enough. That and there was no way around it, as Ukyo was also Ranma and Ranka's fiancee. She grumbled, knowing that they would also present one to Shampoo.

8888

Time went by and lunch break was upon them, as their classmates all went about their own business. Akane caught sight of Ranka, getting ready to present another one. She already knew, what she had in mind and acted faster as she grabbed Ranka by her hand, pulling her off to the ladies restroom with her, in a rush.

She yanked her off into the bathroom, before letting go of her hand with an angry look. She made sure it was just, the two of them. " What is wrong with you?! " Ranka looked annoyed as she rubbed at her wrist. " I'd like to ask you the same thing, Akane.." Akane got up into her face. " Admit it, YOU were going to give one to Sayuri, weren't you?!" She said with a raised voice.

Ranka rubbed at her head with a finger, looking a bit sheepish and was about to say something, but Akane cut her off. " It's bad enough your giving them to Ukyo and Shampoo, but.. Sayuri's NOT your fiancee!"

Ranka sighed deeper. " No, I know that, but.." Akane furrowed her brows at her. " But, "what?! Not only "that", your going far enough already.." Ranka smiled softly. " It's not a problem anymore." Akane got even more in her face with a frustrated look. " I forbid it, okay!" Ranka hahed at her attitude. " Wow.. I thought you of all people would want me, to protect your friend."

Akane hahed back at her, more loudly. " Yeah that worked out sooo well, that now she has a crush on you!" Ranka frowned at her. " Oh, so I guess I shouldn't have saved her, at all then?" Akane huffed. " I didn't say that! Just.. I'll make sure to protect her." She then fidgeted with her fingers. " Or.. do you really like Sayuri?" Ranka got a bit flustered at being put on the spot. " I don't.. like her, like "that." How many times do I gotta say it?"

Akane had her arms crossed, with a displeased look on her face. " Sure, you don't." Ranka arghed at her, as she ruffled her own hair up in frustration. " YOU know I don't, you know I have the same feelings as Ranma, for the same people.." She said as some tears welled up in her eyes. She gave Akane a glare, before taking off in a flash, from the restroom, leaving a flustered Akane, standing there frozen.

When she was able to calm herself down enough, she went back to the classroom and earned an angry frown from Ranma, as she sat down at the group table. Sayuri looked over at her. " Akane, weren't you with Ranka?" Ukyo nodded with her arms crossed. " Yeah, you ran off with her in such a hurry, yet.." Even Daisuke and Hiroshi, were giving her odd looks. Akane blinked as she tried to focus and it slowly, dawned on her, that she had been gone for a while and within that time, Ranka hadn't returned.

Ukyo shook her head at her. " You must've upset her." Akane ahed. Sayuri looked upset. " Akane, you weren't fighting with her, were you?" Ranma had finished his lunch and usually enjoyed it, but not this time, he was too angry as he slammed his fist down on the desk. He usually didn't get so angry with her, but with how serious things had gotten and how she had upset Ranka so badly, he wasn't having it. " IF you did, you can explain to my mom."

Akane tensed up at seeing how angry Ranma was with her and knew she would have to face Nodoka. Ukyo shook her head in dismay as she started to pack up her lunch. " Ranma huney, I'll help you.." Ranma got up from his chair and put his hand up. " It's fine, eat your lunch Uchan." He strode out from the classroom, shutting the door behind him, a bit roughly.

While he had received contact with Ranka briefly, through their mind link, he could feel how upset she was and had a feeling, she likely wasn't where she said she was. First he went and checked the nurse's office and his gut feeling had been correct, that she wasn't there anymore. So, she had either left the school entirely or she was sulking up on the rooftop. It wasn't a particularly nice day either, as it was more on the windy side, so no one would probably be up there.

As he made his way up the stairs to the rooftop, he felt relief at seeing she was there, though she didn't turn around to face him, and kept her gaze off in the distance as the wind blew about. He couldn't help but question her. " Your not thinking about doing something stupid, are ya Ranka?"

She still didn't face him, though she did reply back. " You know, I'm not.." Ranma rubbed at the back of his head. " Akane, really pissed ya off huh? Well, skipping school is kinda stupid." Ranka turned her attention to him with an upset look. " Yeah well, girls are kinda stupid, okay.." She shuffled her foot as she went back to looking off in the distance, as she tensed up some. " I.. don't want to be around Akane, right now.."

Ranma sighed. " What'd she do?" Ranka slumped her shoulder's some as she sighed heavily. " I just, wanted to offer Sayuri protection too and she got all angry about it and up in my face.. Then she forbid me to do it.." Ranma grimaced at hearing all that. " Man, she really let ya have it, huh sis." Ranka grumbled. " I got the bull and the horns.." Ranma rubbed at the back of his head. " Yeah ya did, but wouldn't Akane want her friend to be protected too?"

Ranka turned her attention back to her brother. " You'd think, but no she's too busy being too jealous..." Ranma hmmed. " Well, let's just head home then." Ranka gave him a concerned look. " Just go back to class, I'm fine, I'll go back to the nurses office, till school's over." Ranma crossed his arms. " Hey it's Akane whose gotta explain to mom, I already told her that, so we can just go home."

Ranka furrowed her brows at him and gave him a gentle slug to his shoulder with her fist. " Go back to class, already." Ranma smiled a tad. " Okay, but you better be at the nurse's office or your gonna get it." Ranka sweat dropped, knowing she'd get put in a head lock and get her hair messed up, if she failed to keep her word as she gave her brother a nervous smile and a thumbs up. Ranma hehed as he took his leave from the rooftop, going back to the classroom.

When he returned, it only made Akane feel worse as he hadn't come back with Ranka, though she could tell he was in a better mood, which meant he had found her.

Between classes, at some point Ukyo had disappeared, after talking to Ranma. Akane guessed that she had gone to look after Ranka, which she was tempted to do. Though she knew it was better not to and had to give Ukyo the win, this time around. It was very clear that Ranma was still upset with her, as the air between them was tense.

8888

Off at the nurses office, Ranka was lying down on a bed cot, till Ukyo appeared by the side of the bed, sitting in a chair. " So, I guess you and Akane had a nasty fight, huh?" Ranka sat up, looking a bit flustered. Ukyo could tell what was likely on her mind. " Your wondering if Ranma-huney, sent me to watch you, right? No worries, I volunteered myself, but it's because I wanted to talk with you."

Ranka rubbed a finger to her face, showing she was a bit nervous. " What, about? I mean, you shouldn't be skipping classes, it's more "my" style." Ukyo gave her a concerned look. " Ranka, I know you gave me this necklace, but what's the real reason? What are you hiding, sug?" Ranka exhaled a deep breath. " Every demon that works under Satan, will be after me now.. and that means they'll also target those close to me." She looked upset. " Happy, now?"

Ukyo shook her head. " Absolutely not and you damn well know, I want to know what you and Akane fought over.." Her gaze pierced into the redheads. Ranka hung her head in defeat with a loud sigh. " I wanted to give Sayuri protection too and Akane blew up about it. I dunno, maybe I did go too far. Your probably mad about it too.."

Ukyo took Ranka's hands into her own. " Not at all sug, I'd want my friend to be protected too. Besides you don't like Sayuri, more than a friend." Ranka's eyes shimmered. " Ukyo!" She frowned. " Why can't Akane, see that.." She looked down. " Was I.. wrong though.." Ukyo shook her head, back and forth. " No way, it's just Akane's super jealous and so is Shampoo."

She went on to comfort her. " Besides Akane should know better, she knows you and Ranma huney, share the same feelings, for me, her and Shampoo." Ranka's eyes got all big and sparklie as she nodded, happy to see that Ukyo was on the same page. Though suddenly, the okonomiyaki's chef demeanor shifted to a more serious one. " Ranka, you weren't thinking about sacrificing yourself, were you?" She furrowed her brows at seeing how much the redhead, tensed up. " Ranka.."

Ranka waved her hands about, frantically. " I was only thinking it.. but I know, it's not what anyone would want.." Ukyo quirked an eyebrow at her. " Ranma-huney, laid into you, didn't he?" Ranka bit her lip. " Yeah.." She looked off towards the window. " I guess everyone would rather live with the chaos, and constant danger." Ukyo gave her a stern look. " That's how important you are to everyone, Ranka." Ranka looked a bit flustered.

Ukyo smiled at her. " You didn't eat any lunch did you, sug? I'll whip you up something." Ranka waved her hands about. " No that's okay Ukyo, I did have some lunch." Ukyo shook her finger at her. " Nonsense." Ranka sweat dropped with a nervous smile as Ukyo was in cooking mode and there was no getting out of it.

After she had forced her to eat, she just enjoyed her one on one time, with her other fiancee. She eventually, pulled up another bed, next to Ranka's, where she laid, next to her and chattered on. Ukyo sighed deeply. " I guess, I'll just have to accept the fact that the other women, aren't going away. Well the only good thing, is at least Kodachi isn't involved, am I right?"

Ranka laughed nervously, before rubbing at her head. " Yeah sorry, our mom's not going to budge on upholding promises." Ukyo smiled a tad. " Well it still works out for me." Ranka blinked at her. " Does it, though? I mean, you hated me, but it was justified, after all.."

Ukyo furrowed her brows at her. " That's in the past and you weren't yourself, besides, you more than made up for it. After all, you protected me, from it almost, happening again." She pulled the gem necklace out from under her shirt, and held onto the gem, with a warm smile. " And your protecting me again." Ranka coughed and looked off the other way, as her face flushed.

Ukyo then decided to try a different tactic. " That's right it was, and that's why you have to make it up to me, for the rest of our lives." She said with cheeky smile. "Got, it?" She had Ranka's attention, as her eyes were wide and her face, ten shades of red.

After awhile, they both ended up taking a nap for a bit, till school was over for the day. Ranma was happy to see that his sister had stayed put and grateful for Ukyo's part. So much so, he decided, they would walk her back home.

8888

On the way out from school, they crossed paths with Akane and it was tense for a moment. On her side she was reluctant to make a move, even though she wanted to. Nabiki watched the exchange and had to put her two cents in. " Jeez Akane, talk about a missed opportunity, I mean it's obvious that you like Ranka, the same way you like Ranma." Akane bristled up in reaction. " I DO NOT!" She tightened her grip on her bag, before storming off, leaving a snickering Nabiki.

While not far off, from leaving the school was a down in the dumps, Sayuri as she re-played the odd event around lunch time in her head. She was pretty sure, that Ranka had meant to talk to her and maybe more, but Akane had made sure that she wasn't able to do that. They must've been fighting about her.

As she was walking and thinking, she wasn't aware of a crow that was tailing her, from the sky. No one had known either, during Akane and Ranka's fight in the bathroom, that a crow had been spying through the window and the information had been relayed and a new plan had been concocted.

In the past, Sayuri's run in with the demons, was with Ivory and she knew who she was, but Alley on the other hand, was not on her radar. Similar to how she had taken Ryoga for a fool, with the fortune teller disguise, that she lay in wait in the same guise, for her new target. To attract the girls attention, a near by crow, under service, let out a loud caw, as the target got close enough.

Sayuri followed the sound, her eyes setting their sights on the vacant lot, that had a fancy, purple tent and a beautiful woman stood, in a gypsy like outfit. Alley smiled through the see through mask as she wooed the target. " You there my dear, love ails you." From the girls shocked response, she continued to woo her. " All love readings, are free for the next 30 minutes, today only." Sayuri felt skeptical about it, but the temptation of it being free, bought her as she accepted the deal, being led off into the tent.

Inside the tent, she took a seat at Madame Fortuna's table, as she had been introduced to the gypsy looking woman as such. Alley went about her script as the fortune teller, moving her fingers about, over the crystal ball, that was in the middle of the table. " I see another woman is in the way, perhaps even more." Sayuri's eyes widened at how spot on the fortune teller was, as she nodded.

Now that she had gained some trust in the girl, she put the next part of the plan into effect. " What if I said, I could give you a love potion, that would make your intended, only about "you." To tell the truth about how they feel about you." Sayuri's eyes sparkled as she was hooked. " Really? Oh, but it's probably really expensive.." Alley smirked as she took out the vile, with the "love potion". " The special is still going on for a few more minutes, so I will let you have it for free."

Sayuri's eyes lit up as she took the fancy looking perfume bottle, like vile, from the older woman. Alley smiled as she held up a finger. " The sooner you use it, the stronger the results. Waiting even a day, it won't work as well, as the moon is in alignment with the goddess of love." She decided to bait the girl further. " Besides your love rival, will have a better chance, if you don't act as soon as possible."

Sayuri's eyes widened. " Are you saying I need to do it today? And how?" Alley smiled as she continued to guide the girl, they were using as pawn. " I am, and the best place, would to bring your intended here as I will be able to lend my powers for love. Simple, just put some of the love potion in a drink, though food will work as well. Oh and it won't work, if you tell the person, that it's a love potion."

Sayuri wrung her hands as she felt a bit un easy, with a thought hitting her. " Wouldn't I, be giving the person poison, though? I'm sorry, but it sounds like that's what I would be doing." Alley laughed a tad. " Well my dear all mystical aids are considered poisons, much like herbs were considered poison in the olden days. Forbidden things are often labeled as such, too good to be true."

Sayuri clutched the vile as she nodded in excitement, before taking her leave from the tent, feeling a bit more relieved. Alley smirked as the masters plan's, were taking form. Humans were so easy to manipulate, especially when it came down to love. How she had baited Sayuri was a bit different than how she had with Ryoga, but they were both used as pawns, to get closer to their real target.

8888

It wasn't too long after that the Saotome siblings, had gotten back home, when there was a knock at the door. Nodoka answered the door and smiled at Sayuri. " Hello dear, may I help you?" Sayuri tried to steel her nerves as she had thought on how to go about things. Though she really hadn't met Ranka or Ranma's mother, she could tell, she was, and about to introduce herself. Ranka showed up, along side her mother as she blinked at seeing her. " Sayuri?"

Nodoka smiled at her daughter. " Oh Ranka, is this one of your friends from school?" Ranka fidgeted a bit. " Well, Sayuri's, Akane's best friend, but yeah." Nodoka beamed, as she left Ranka to talk with her friend.

Ranka rubbed at the back of her head. " So uh, what's up?" Sayuri tensed up some. " Um well, you never came back to class, so you probably need tonight's homework, right?" Ranka blinked. " Well,my brother has that." Sayuri got a bit flustered as she laughed some. " Oh, yeah.. that makes sense.."

She bit her lip, as she thought of something else. " Well, and I.. just feel horrible about how, you and Akane fought, because of me.." Ranka kept rubbing at the back of her head, looking more flustered. Sayuri gave her pleading eyes. " I want to make it up to you, so, would you come out for a bit with me, if that's okay?"

Nodoka smiled as she gave Ranka a gentle push from behind. " Go on dear, your friend's come out of her way, it'd be rude not to. It's alright with me, just don't be too long." Ranma rubbed at his head, as he guessed, the reason his mother was allowing it, was how Sayuri was Akane's friend as well.

Ranka set her back pack down and went and pulled back on her shoes, before leaving with Sayuri, a bit nervous as she looked around, worried about any of the fiancee's, seeing them. " You know, you don't need to make up anything, it's not.."

Sayuri cut her off, as she raised her voice some. " No, it is my fault, it was "me", that you were fighting about with Akane, right?" Ranka shuffled her feet about. " If you want to, then that's fine, but I can't really be out too long." Sayuri nodded with bright eyes, as she settled on a takoyaki vendor, in a near by park, but also asked her, what she wanted.

Ranka scratched at her head, and offered her some money, but Sayuri turned it down, as well as having her wait on a bench, while she went to get the food, as it was her treat. Ranka sat and tapped her foot, nervously, as she waited. It was her mothers rules of manners, that she was abiding by, but also at how Sayuri was one of Akane's best friends, as well as her's.

Once Sayuri got the food and drinks, she had made sure to pour the contents of the vile, into Ranka's drink, as she was faraway enough and out of her sight. While a part of her knew, what she was doing was wrong, the other part, wanted to know truthfully, if she was important, or to be made more important. She hurried back over to where Ranka was sitting on the bench, with the tray of their drinks and food.

Ranka didn't suspect Sayuri, and the potion was made, so it was detectable and clear, so it blended right in, to whatever it was put into. She took notice at how Sayuri didn't get anything for herself, aside from a drink. "I'm not gonna be able to eat all of this, so why don't we share it." She said with a small smile. Sayuri beamed as she nodded and did so, but couldn't help but question the redhead. " Aren't you hungry though, you didn't have lunch." Ranka finished eating one of the dough puffs. " I got something from the cafeteria. Besides, my mom is really strict about, not being able to have a good appetite for her meals."

Sayuri listened intently. " Your mom's really strict huh, she seemed really nice though." Ranka laughed some. " Pretty much." Sayuri had another one. " Did, you and Akane make up?" Ranka looked off the other way. " Nope, but don't worry it's not your fault. You know she's really stubborn." Sayuri laughed a tad. " Yeah.."

Once they had finished eating, they both sipped some of their drinks. Sayuri took a glance, here and there, but seeing how nothing had happened, she figured it might take some time to work. Ranka stretched her legs out. " Well, I'd better get back home." Sayuri got all nervous. " Already? I wanted to show you this other vendor." Ranka quirked an eyebrow at her. " Okay, but it's got to be quick."

Sayuri nodded at her. " It's not too far away and I need to be getting back home soon too, so no worries." Ranka got up as she did and followed after her, having a bit more of the melon soda, before she threw it out, when they passed a trash bin.

At seeing the fancy, purple tent, Sayuri's excitement grew as she pulled Ranka off with her, inside it. A near by shadow, caught sight of the redhead, as she was pulled off inside the tent, with another girl, as it glared at the tent.

8888

Within the confines of the tent, Sayuri was met with the fortune teller at the table. The effects of the potion, had started to work as Ranka, couldn't concentrate as she was starting to connect the fortune teller, where she started to stumble and she felt really hot. Sayuri yelped as she, helped her sit down in one of the chairs. She looked over at Madame Fortuna, with a distressed look. " You said, "it" wasn't poison!"

Ranka's eyes fluttered shut as she slumped down, with her head on the table, with that being the last thing, she had heard as well as Sayuri screaming. Alley kept up her disguise as she chuckled at the human girl. " It's just how the potion works, now the rest is the hands of the love gods."

Sayuri shook her head and back forth. " I wouldn't have done this.." Alley taunted her for her actions. " But you did my dear, you allowed temptation to win." She smiled as she started to see Ranka, twitch. " Behold, you will get your answer."

Ranka opened her eyes, as she sat up and rubbed at her head. Sayuri teared up all anxious as she set her eyes on her. " Ranka, are you okay? She went on about how stupid she felt and sorry about what she did. Ranka tilted her head some, looking at her. " Who, are you?"

Sayuri stumbled back some, as she gasped. Alley cackled. " Well there's your answer, my dear, and thank you for bringing Ranka here. If you were a demon, you could've earned a reward, for catching her." She said with a sneer, as she moved to attack her, as she went to whack her on the back of her neck, to knock her out, only to be repelled by Ranka's barrier, that was around her. Sayuri yelled as she ran out from the tent in a shocked state of mind, feeling that the best thing to do for Ranka, was to get help.

Alley curled her lip, as she moved and used the move on Ranka, to knock her out. " Such a nuisance." As she had done so, the barrier was no longer active. She hahed. " Well now, it's time for your retraining, just as the master had promised he would. How delicious is it, we used that girl, to get you."

Not too far off, Sayuri just kept running as fast as she could, till she got back to the Saotomes and banged at the door frantically, as she cried just as frantically at how she had unknowingly put Ranka in danger. Nodoka answered the door, with a paled face, at not seeing Ranka with Sayuri, then hearing the wailing girl as she yammered on about how sorry she was. Ranma bolted up from the couch as he heard the commotion, skidding over to the doorway, where Nodoka had helped Sayuri inside, trying to calm her down some.

Ranma, immediately tried to link with Ranka, only to get silence and static. Right now he didn't care about hurting Sayuri's feelings, regardless, at hearing how she had basically, hand delivered Ranka to the demons. While his mother, even though she was upset, wasn't going to bite into the girl, she was a victim as well. While he held back enough, he gave her a glare when she pleaded to go with him. " IF anything happens to Ranka, it's ALL your fault and I will NEVER forgive you.." He then took off as fast as he could, once he had his shoes on, as he raced towards the location, that Sayuri had blurted out.

Back at the tent, Alley lifted a knocked out Ranka, over her shoulder like a sack. " Well, now you and Ivory can start over and as for me." She twirled about. " The master will reward me so well, for retrieving you." She giggled as she left the tent, only to be blind sided by the shadowy figure, with her neck, meeting the blade of a sword, toppling her head. Another shadow, darted about, in a sweeping motion, making the she-devil, lose her footing. Then the first shadow, moved really fast as it stole Ranka away from her grasp, jumping off into the sky and disappearing.

Ranma missed them by seconds, only catching the remains of the fallen, fortune teller, that disappeared, before he could get to question her. He yelled in frustration. The horrible flashback of the devil, having stolen Ranka back in the past, after he had first saved her, played in his mind, as he feared that was what had happened.

Not too far off the two shadowy figures, returned to Nekohanten, with their precious cargo in tow. Shampoo carried Ranka off to her room, where she promptly woke her up, by tossing cold water on her, making her bolt up, looking all frazzled. Shampoo glared at her. " Ranka, you got explaining to do, why YOU with "that" girl?!" Ranka blinked at the adorable purple haired girl, with a blank look. " Am, I Ranka? Um.. who are you?" Shampoo frowned with her arms crossed. " No play games, you know what you did." Ranka shook her head. " What, did I do?" Shampoo got up in her face. " You cheat on Shampoo!"

Colonge came into the room, having heard enough from outside. " Shampoo, that's enough. It's apparent that this is far more serious.." Ranka gave the old woman an odd look. " And, who are you?" Colonge shook her head. " Shampoo, I do not think Ranka is playing games, after all we saved her from a demon."

Ranka sat there blinking as she rubbed at her head. Cologne cleared her throat. " Yes your name is Ranka, and you are my Shampoo's fiancee. For now, why don't you take a nice relaxing bath, then we will talk more." She motioned for her to follow her as she led her off to them.

Once she had gotten her situated, she returned to the room. " As I was saying Shampoo, this is far more serious. While I need to confirm, I highly suspect that she's lost her memory." She smirked. " We'd regret, wasting such an opportunity." Shampoo rubbed at her head. " But great grandmother, Ranka will be so mad if she find out." Cologne chuckled. " The challenge is worth it though. Besides, we can go whichever way we need to. Do not tell me, you would let such an opportunity go so easily, my dear." Shampoo fussed back and forth about it for a few seconds, before smirking. " Is too too, good." Cologne nodded in agreement, as they both chuckled.

Shampoo frowned a bit. " What about Ranma and mother?" Cologne snickered. " Why not hide it as long as we can. Would it not be worth it, if it ends up going according to plan? We can mold Ranka into a fine amazon warrior, and fiancee." Shampoo's eyes sparkled at the aspect of it.

Once she was done with her bath, Shampoo took her off into her room, with her and got together an outfit for her. " Ranka, you wear this, yes? Make me so so happy, is what you do, for your fiancee, yes." Ranka scratched at her head. " Yeah, I guess so, just.. isn't there something else?" Shampoo gave her big puppy eyes, as she took the towel off from her, holding up the chinese top, showing it off in the mirror. " Make me so so happy you wear and make you look so pretty."

Shampoo smiled as she showed off her outfit. " So silly Ranka, is what "we" amazon's always wear." Ranka gave her an odd look. " I.. always wear this stuff?" Shampoo nodded with a big smile. Ranka huffed as she changed into the chinese outfit. Shampoo beamed as she glomped onto her. " Aiya airen, Shampoo so so happy." Ranka flushed a bit in her face.

Shampoo brought her downstairs to the living room with her, where Cologne waited for them at the table. Shampoo had her sit down next to her at the ground table. " Since you hit your head, great grandmother want to look you over, okay." Ranka had a blank look on her face as she rubbed at her head. " I did? I don't remember, maybe.. I did." Colonge nodded. " You did my dear, now just stand still, while I look you over."

Shampoo hmmed. " Great grandmother would shampoo work on Ranka?" Cologne looked Ranka over, having her stick her tongue out, as she took a swab with a qtip. " If the shampoo wasn't used, another shampoo will not work child." She went off to test the sample she had taken, leaving them to themselves.

Elsewhere, after Ranma had taken some of his anger out on the tent, he returned to the house. Just as he did, Nodoka left with Sayuri, telling him to watch Tenka. Ranma growled at hearing that, storming over and grabbing Tenka up by her shirt collar. " Spill it, hell-brat, I know YOU know!" He shook her about. Tenka kicked her feet about. " Okay! Let me go, already!" She could feel his fury, and didn't want to be on the end of it. While she hadn't been involved with the plan, she could tell, from the workings, what likely happened.

She brushed her shirt off. "That girl, was used to get to the traitor, obviously. It's just that lord Satan, fulfilled his promise, to erase her memories and start over." Ranma gritted his teeth and punched the wall, with his fist. " Dammit!" Tenka eeped at how close she was, to where he punched, she fwailed her arms about. " I wasn't involved, okay! I didn't know exactly what was going on, or such." Ranma glared daggers at her. " YOU expect me, to believe you!"

Tenka waved her hands about. " Ah, okay your probably upset that your sync or link has been severed. That would be why though, if she doesn't remember anything." That earned her a growl from Ranma. "So, tell me smart ass, do you know if that bastard took her back?!" Tenka tensed up some. " Not unless they were successful with removing her arm, with that accursed amazon claim."

While he was still extremely upset, that calmed him a bit, knowing that Cologne's meddling, had helped in that way and it was just a matter of finding her.

It wasn't long before Nodoka returned, she was hoping that she'd come back and Ranka would be back, but those hopes were dashed. Ranma couldn't help but lash out about Sayuri. " So what, you just took her home and let her off the hook?!" Nodoka frowned at her son. " Ranma, try to understand, Sayuri feels terrible about what's she done, she's a victim as well.. Tell me then, do you think Ranka would want us to treat the girl so poorly?"

She clenched one of her fists as she teared up. " Do you not think I'm not upset? I'm upset that the girl fell to the demons temptation so easily.." She choked up as she excused herself, running off upstairs to her room.

Tenka shook her head at him. " For shame, upsetting your mother." Ranma curled his lip at her, before going over to the front door and throwing it open. " Just get the hell out of here, already." Tenka twitched at the opportunity, but stood still as she glared daggers at him. Ranma hehed as he shut the door shut, before going off upstairs to his own room.

He flopped down hard on his bed, forgetting he had his green gem necklace on, as he spotted it for a second. He then bolted up as he grabbed it by the gem, remembering how they had used their gems to connect before. While he wasn't sure it would work, he still wanted to try as he ran downstairs in a flash and yelled he was going out to try to find Ranka, before he pulled on his shoes and left the house, gaining speed as he jumped up high into the air, and up on top of rooftops.

8888

As he leapt from rooftop to rooftop, he kept checking the green gem for any kind of reaction. He hopped down around the shopping area, as he got a small blink from his gem. First he tried going by Ukyo's and there was no reaction, seeing that he decided to try Shampoo's next and furrowed his brows at seeing a bit more of reaction from the gem.

He let himself in, as he barged in. " Hey, old ghoul!" Cologne greeted him. " Well hello son in law, what brings you here?" Ranma crossed his arms. " Ranka's gone missing, you know, like before when you and Shampoo had her.." Colonge chuckled. " I thought we were all over this, son in law? Ranka's missing, oh dear, that's no good." She tapped on the wall, really quickly with the end of her staff, as she sent a signal to Shampoo.

Shampoo made sure to hide Ranka, before she came out to the front, at hearing the signal. At seeing Ranma she jumped on him and glomped him. " Aiya Ranma, come to go on date with Shampoo!" Ranma peeled her off from her. " No, I didn't! Your not hiding Ranka, are you Shampoo?" He had a serious look on his face. " She's gone missing." Shampoo acted all shocked. " Aiya, Ranka is gone?"

Ranma gave both the amazon's suspicious looks. " Well if she's not here, you wouldn't mind me looking around, would ya?" Cologne laughed. " Oh, son in law, are you saying you'd like to stay and spend the night with Shampoo. I'll allow it." Shampoo swooned. " Aiya! Ranma, great grandmother gives us our blessing!" Ranma growled. " No! That's NOT what I'm saying." He arghed as he held up his green gem on his necklace. " This is telling me otherwise.." Cologne puffed on her pipe. " Feel free to look, as well as stay."

Ranma tightened his fists as he looked around, looking at the gem to see if the reaction changed at all. Shampoo did seem a bit nervous, but tried to hide that fact. She was hoping that Ranma wouldn't be able to find Ranka, but if he did by chance, they would just switch gears on the situation. She followed and watched as Ranma went through different rooms. Shampoo smirked as it came down to her room. " Shampoo no mind." She batted her eyelashes at him.

Ranma got nervous, as he went off to the bathroom, coming back after having splashed himself with cold water. Ranma-chan gave her a stern look as she let herself into her room and looked around, feeling a bit less nervous, at being in girl form. She ahahed as her gem, started to react a bit differently. " You DO have Ranka, don't YOU!" Shampoo started to sweat a bit. " What you talking about Ranma?" Ranma-chan rolled up her sleeves. " Fine, play dumb then." She started looking all over the room, getting more annoyed. " I mean that'd be really low of you, ya know Shampoo."

Shampoo ahahed. After looking a bit more, she set her attention on Shampoo. " You know, Ranka will really hate you, if your pulling the same crap on her, that you were before.." Shampoo huffed. " Is not same!" She tried to cover that up quickly, but had no words. Ranma-chan gave her a glare. " Not only will you piss Ranka off, you'll piss me off more, if I find out, you were hiding my sister from me..."

Shampoo gulped. Ranma-chan huffed. " Welp I didn't find her, but I'll just come back tomorrow then, and the next day, and the next day.." Shampoo tugged at her shirt collar, seeing how they would have to flip the situation. That and she felt the guilt as Ranma was laying into her, she did not want him angry with her. She sighed heavily. " Okay Ranma win." She went through her closet, pulling down the fake wall covering, that was over the real one, then uncovering a hidden door, with another closet, where she had, told Ranka to play hide and seek and wait quietly.

She came out from the closet with Ranka in tow, with a poutie looking face. Ranma-chan's anger vanished as she so happy to see her sister was safe, taking her face into her hands. " Ranka! You're okay!" She quirked an eyebrow at her. " You are okay, right?" Ranka, pulled herself away from her twin as she gave her a look. " Who are you?" She blinked for a second. " Am I you?" Ranma-chan growled as she slammed her fist into the wall. " "That" bastard!"

Ranka gave her twin a glare as she stood in front of Shampoo. " Hey, knock that off! You're upsetting my fiancee." Shampoo gushed about it. Ranma-chan gave Shampoo a glare. " Oh yeah, you weren't up to something, were you?" Colonge tapped her staff down on the ground as she entered the room. " That's enough now, son in law. The jig is up. Go on be angry but also be grateful, "we" were the ones that found Ranka first."

Ranma-chan crossed her arms. " Oh yeah right, how you already, started to brainwash her." Cologne hahed. " Guilty, but we didn't tell a lie. Shampoo is Ranka's fiancee as well." Ranma-chan gave her a glare. " I'm sure, go on what else did you say?" Cologne coughed. " Just that Ranka makes a fine amazon." Ranma-chan gave her another glare. " Talk about taking advantage of the situation. How about trying to help, instead." Shampoo ahemed. " Shampoo did try, asked great grandmother about shampoo to help, but she say since no shampoo, that it no can help."

Cologne cleared her throat. " I also looked Ranka over and took a sample, which I've found was indeed a memory erasing potion. We don't know the details, that led up to things, so I cannot figure out things, further, from this alone." She bowed her head and took her leave.

Shampoo fidgeted with her fingers. " Ranma win, so no hate Shampoo, okay.." Ranma-chan frowned at her. " I'm mad, you got that! But.. thank you for telling me the truth, Shampoo." Shampoo smiled a tad. " Ranma-chan sighed heavily, as she turned her attention to Ranka. " I'm Ranma, I'm your sibling, so come on, let's go back home."

Ranka moved away when Ranma-chan went to grab her by her hand. Ranma-chan furrowed her brows at her. " I said, we're going home.." She moved faster, so she was able to grab her by her hand. " Come on." Ranka dragged her feet, with an annoyed pout. " I'm an amazon." Ranma-chan groaned as she glared at Shampoo, before dragging Ranka off with her, making sure to give Cologne a glare as well. " Thanks a lot, you old ghoul!" Cologne just chuckled in response.

Ranma-chan arghed at Ranka's defiance the whole way back. " You're NOT a damn amazon okay! "They" lied to you!"

Ivory jumped down from the nearby wall, launching an attack at Ranma-chan, so that she made her lose her hold on Ranka. Alley came out from the shadows, with her hand outstretched towards Ranka. " Ranka, be a good girl and come back home." She smirked as she thought she was the first one to make contact with her.

Ranka gave her a glare, as she slapped her hand away from her. Alley growled loudly. " Insolent girl, YOU'RE supposed to listen to the first person upon waking!" She tried to make a grab for her.

Ranma-chan grew more furious at seeing both of the demon wenches, knowing they were trying to take Ranka away. She remembered about her gem, being faster than them as she pulled her sister away from them, focusing her chi, so the gem, put out a barrier, around them. She flipped the bird at them, before dragging Ranka off with her, where she pushed her off into the house, shutting the door behind them, sighing a huge breath of relief.

Nodoka at hearing all the noise's, came running over and stopped in her tracks at seeing Ranka. She started crying as she pulled her up from the floor and into a tight embrace as she wept and fussed over her. Ranka just stood there frozen, with her eyes wide. She was about to say, she didn't know who the woman was, but by her actions and looking at her, she had a feeling she did know her.

Ranma-chan smacked her fist back, against the wall. " Dammit!" She yelled in frustration. Nodoka gave her a bit of a stern look. " Ranma.. you need to calm down and not take it out on the house." She fretted as she commented on the other mark in the other room's wall. She smiled at her son with tears in her eyes. " You found your sister, we should be celebrating."

Ranma-chan looked more frustrated. Nodoka prattled on for a few minutes, before stopping at noticing how dead silent Ranka was, who she still had in a tight embrace. "Ranka dear, are you alright?" Tenka was sitting on the couch, drinking a juice box as she hummed and watched.

Ranma-chan continued to lash out at her mother about the situation. "Of course "she's", not! No thanks to Sayuri!" Nodoka let go of her hold on her daughter. " Ranma, I told you.. it's difficult." Ranma-chan hehed. " Yeah well, I don't care, it's her damn fault that Ranka's lost her memories and almost got taken back by them!" Nodoka stood frozen in shock, at hearing that. Ranma-chan huffed as she grabbed Ranka by her hand and pulled her off with her upstairs.

Once upstairs, and off in their room, she let go of her sisters hand, before going over to the desk. Before she sat down at the ground table, motioning for her to do so as well, as she laid down the picture of them together, from the photo booth. "Look, see here's proof, we know each other." She sighed as leaned back. "When I forgot about you, "this" helped me." With the proof before her eyes, she nodded in understanding.

Ranma-chan groaned as she laid her head down on the table. " No wonder.. your so hooked on Shampoo.." She said as she referred to what one of the demon wenches had said about how, she'd listen to the first person, after waking up. She thought about how Alley had hoped to be the first and how though, not knowing who she was, Ranka still rejected her and pretty coldly.

Ranma-chan sat back up suddenly as she snapped her fingers. " That's it, you seemed to remember one of the demon wenches, deep down, since you hate her so damn much. So maybe, seeing someone you really hate, might jolt something."

Before she could say something, Ranma-chan bolted up and grabbed her by her arm, pulling her off with her, anxious to see if it'd pay off. They whirled by Nodoka, as they went out the front door. Nodoka stuck her head out the door upset as she yelled after them. " Ranma-chan was too determined and dead set on the goal, as she ignored her mother.

8888

It wasn't too long before they got to the Tendo's, as Ranma-chan wasn't gentle about making sure Ranka didn't stray. Kasumi heard the commotion as she got the front door and smiled. " Oh my, hello Ranma, hello Ranka." Ranma-chan greeted her as she dragged Ranka by her. Kasumi sweat dropped. "Oh my.."

Soun and Genma stopped their shogi game, as Genma got up and went over to meet his son. " Ranma, what's all the fuss?" Ranma-chan gave him an annoyed. " Shut up, old man." She pushed Ranka over towards him. Genma smiled at seeing her. " Well, hello Ranka." Ranka twitched and gave him a glare at seeing him, then promptly punching him in the face.

Ranma-chan got all excited, at seeing how she had been right. " Alright!" Genma stumbled backwards, as he rubbed at his face. Soun ahemed. " Ranma, what is "this" all about?!" Ranka blinked at how she had reacted, not quite sure why she had reacted, like that.

The commotion had brought Akane and Nabiki downstairs in a tizzy. Akane voiced it first. " What's going on, dad?" She had P-chan, within her hold. Nabiki followed suit. " Yeah daddy, I can't hear myself with your yelling." Akane stopped in her tracks at seeing Ranma and Ranka. Soun gave Ranma a look. " Yes, that is what I'd like to know as well, son." Kasumi nodded in agreement.

A few seconds later, they were all seated at the ground table, all eyes on Ranma-chan. Ranma-chan sighed. " Ranka's lost her memories but it's like when Akane lost her memories of me, things she really hated, she'd react to. So I wanted to make sure, so that's where you came in pops." Genma gave his son a glare. Kasumi put her hand to her mouth. " Oh my.."

Akane looked over at Ranka, who wasn't even looking at her or much anyone, with a distressed look. " What happened?" Ranma-chan crossed her arms looking angry. " YOUR friend Sayuri, is what happened.." Akane put her hand to her mouth, not wanting to believe it. She furrowed her brows and held up P-chan, showing him to Ranka, who was between her and Ranma-chan. " Look Ranka, it's P-chan." Ranka gave her a weird look. " That's nice, whoever you are."

Akane looked upset, as well as P-chan, who started squirming about and squealing loudly, so that he got out of her clutches. Akane yelled after him. " P-chan!" Ranma-chan had a dull look on her face, as she knew he had run off to the bath to change back.

Within seconds, Ryoga came skidding over, looking furious. " Ranma!" Kasumi smiled. " Why hello Ryoga." Akane greeted him as well. He lost his cool, at seeing not even a glance from Ranka. He steeled himself as tried to greet her and smiled at getting her attention. Ranka blinked at him. " Who, are you?" Ryoga froze up, before falling down on the ground. Kasumi shook her head in dismay.

Ranma-chan sighed. "Well we should go." She got up and pulled Ranka up and off with her. Akane followed after. " Ranma, wait! Sayuri wouldn't.." Ranma-chan gave her a serious look. " Well she DID, "she" delivered Ranka to the demons. I DON'T want to talk about it right now anymore, got it!" She pulled Ranka off with her, leaving Akane, standing there. Ryoga had recovered and rushed off after them. " Ranma, you'd better start talking!"

Ranma-chan grumbled as she kept walking. " Buzz off, P-chan!" They argued back and forth, till Ranma-chan sensed and attack, pulling Ranka away. " Dammit, their back.." Ivory came from out of no where, as she lashed out the whip, smirking as she snared Ranka by her ankle by it, making her yelp. Ivory laughed. " Today's the day!"

Ranma-chan kept her grip on Ranka, as she pulled back. " Ryoga, their trying to take her.." Ryoga eyes filled with fury, as he blasted Ivory with his attack. " Shishi Hokodan!" It sent the she-devil, flying back, making her lose the grip on her whip, loosing it's grip on it's target. Ryoga looked confused. " Why isn't Ranka, using her barrier?" Ranma-chan cchted as she used her own, to put a barrier up. " I don't think she can.."

They rushed back to the house, where a furious Nodoka, lay in wait as they got back. Nodoka greeted Ryoga, but had her arms crossed. " Ranma, explain yourself." Ranma-chan still stood her ground with her mother. " I went to the Tendo's, okay." Nodoka stood firm. " You blatantly ignored me,Ranma, no video games, until further notice.." Ranma-chan grumbled in reply.

I do not own Ranma 1/2 or any of it's characters.
