Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V Dimension Wars
Standard Episode 1 : A mysterious duelist
Hey there everyone, today I've decided to set a Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V story in which I will do a rewrite in my own way starting after Episode 6 (Yuya vs Sora).
I admit that Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V is one of my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh series although that like you, I felt that the ending was rushed hence the reason of the rewrite but maybe you will feel that this story might be worse than the series itself (let's hope not).
All right then, let's go for a long, long journey.
Warning : you need to know the series before reading this series.
In a small alleyway of Maiami City, a homeless man was drinking his sorrow away while he was ranting about his misforturnes.
But suddenly, a man starts to stroll in front of him which surprise the man as he looked and he saw a blue-haired young man wearing a punk-style outfit, with a dull green formal shirt and dark blue tie, as well as a black cape-like garment with ripped sleeves and edges with dark blue pants and black boot-like shoes, he also wears a belt with two Deck holsters on each side of it and he seemed to be wearing a mask that conceals his face.
The homeless seems to notice that the man was looking at the LID building while he is keeping a LID badge in his palm, the homeless think that the man might be planning to join the Leo Institue of Dueling who was the biggest dueling school of Maiami City who reunited the strongest duelists of the world and the company was runned by Declan Akaba, the youngest duelist who integrated the Pro Dueling Circuit as he had joined the Circuit at the age of 15.
After a few moment, the man eventually leaves the alleyway leaving the homeless man alone as he wondered who was the young man.
You Show Duel School – Standard Dimension
In the You Show Duel School, Yuya Sakaki and the kids of the school : Ally, Frederick and Tate were washing their faces after finishing their dueling training so that they could become much better at Duel Monsters.
« Ah, it feels good to refresh our faces once in a while after a good duel » commented Yuya.
« Yeah, it gives me the shivers » says Frederick who always feels shivers at everything that he does.
While the four children and Yuya continued to wash their faces, Zuzu Boyle, the daughter of the You Show Duel School owner, Skip Boyle, appeared at the bathroom with a newspaper in her hand.
« Yuya, you should take a look at this » says an alarmed Zuzu as she gives the newspaper to Yuya who took it and he start to read its contents :
« LID exhibition match !»
« The Leo Institute Dueling have decided, in order to commemorate the birth of the new summon : the Pendulum summon, to organize exhibition matches who will be held against the supposed student who obtained the power of the Pendulum Summon : Sylvio Sawatari who said that he hoped to face in these exhibition matches the creator of the Pendulum Summon : Yuya Sakaki ! »
« Will he be present to duel Sylvio Sawatari or will he be scared to face him like his father who fled instead of facing Strong Ishijima ? The answer will be decided tonight ! »
Yuya fronwed when he saw that the newspaper still insult his father legacy as his father was supposed to face Strong Ishijima three years ago but he never appeared at the site of his duel to which his reputation was severly tarnished since the people of Maiami City now think of him as a coward to which their comments were very hurtful for Yuya as he deeply respect his father who was the creator of 'Entertainement Dueling' a style of dueling that allow to make duels in order to bring smiles to the audience and even after his father dissaperence, he still use his father 'Entertainement Dueling' in order to bring smiles to his audience.
« Can you believe this ? » said a displeased Zuzu « They are still insulting your father despite your victory against Strong Ishijima and I even bet that it is this Sawatari idiot who said all those awful things so that we could hear of him ».
« Maybe » thought Yuya.
« Well, what could we have expected of him ? » sighed Zuzu « he is nothing more than a sore loser, a coward and a second-rate duelist, no, calling him a second-rate duellist is a insult to all the second-rates ».
Indeed, Zuzu hasn't forgotten that Sylvio has kidnapped her and the children so that he could blackmail Yuya in a duel for his Pendulum cards, Yuya had managed to beat him but it seems that now, all he wanted was revenge.
« Well, in that case, if Sylvio want a rematch, I'll gladly take his offer so that I can bring a smile to him and the audience » proudly boasted Yuya.
« That's the spirit but first » said Zuzu as she hands out to Yuya a towel while pointing out a dirt in the young boy's neck « clean off your neck, a true duelist should not duel another with dirt on their neck ! ».
« Okay, okay » said Yuya as he took the towel and clean off his neck so he can be ready for his duel, remembering of not forgetting his deck, he took his duel disk and he and Zuzu took off to the LID stadium where the exhibition matches will be held.
LID Stadium – Standard Dimension
The two friends managed to reach the stadium but when they reached the entrance, the two were shocked : a long, very long, waiting line was standing there, apparently, the LID offer had attracted a lot of duelists.
« Man ! How can we go in there ? There is so much duelists that I don't even if I could face Sylvio today ! » whined Yuya as he was surprised of the amount of duelists, however, Zuzu had a plan.
« Maybe if we put ourselves in the audience, knowing him, he would see you in there and he will challenge you instead of his challenger » thought Zuzu.
Yuya starts to think about Zuzu's proposal and he admit that the idea was appealing, since Sylvio wished to be admired by his audience, he could recognize Yuya and since he is seeking a rematch, he would immediately challenge Yuya.
« You do have a point Zuzu, we just need to find some good seats that will allow him to see us » said Yuya.
Yuzu nodded and the two took the audience entrance to which they accessed in a closed room where a giant ring ressembling a boxing ring was standing there, after a few moment of searching, the two eventually found some seats and they slumped in it.
When Yuya looked at the ring, he was surprised to see that a duelist was already standing there, the duelist was a blue-haired man who was wearing a dull green formal shirt and dark blue tie, as well as a black cape-like garment with ripped sleeves and edges with dark blue pants and black boot-like shoes while wearing a belt with two Deck holsters on each side of it, the only thing that Yuya coudn't see was his face since it was concealed behind a black mask, he wondered who was that mysterious duelist.
But suddenly, much to Yuya and Zuzu surprise, a jazz-like music starts to play while a choral starts to form itself while dancers who were wearing extravagant outfits were starting to dance in the extremities of the ring and finally, a man goes in front of a mic and he starts to sing :
Superhighways, coast to coast, easy takin' anywhere -
On the transcontinental overload
just slide behind the wheel.
How does it feel when there's no destination that's too far
And somewhere on the way
you might find out who you are.
Living in America, eye to eye, station to station.
Living in America, hand in hand, across the nation.
Living in America, got to have a celebration, rock my soul!
While the crowd were enjoying the song, Yuya and Zuzu noticed that something was coming down on the stage and they saw Sylvio standing on the falling platform as he danced in the rythm of the music, as the audience noticed him, they start to cheer for him, especially the LID students, who are hoping that Sylvio would represent the school superiority to his opponents.
While he was still dancing, Sylvio checks out the audience and he noticed a man whose hair color could ressemble a tomato, the young man smiled, Yuya was there and he shall face him in a duel soon enough.

I know what it means.
When the platform finally reached the ground, Sylvio kept his dancing which amuse his audience who also include his father, Furio Sawatari, Maiami City, who was a bad-tempered man who seemed to be rough to every of his citizens except for his own son, he even cancelled a business appoinement so that he could assist to his son's duel that he would have never missed for anything in the world.
Sylvio finally reached the arena while dancing but he made a quick stop in order to talk with the referee.
« You see the guy with the tomato-like hair ? He will be my next opponent after I deal with the warm-up ».
The referee took note and he was ready to announce when Sylvio would beat his opponent, eventually, the singer finish up his song by saying I feel good which made the audience cheer for him to which he replies by putting a knee to the ground in order to thank the audience.
After a few seconds, the referee starts talking to the audience.
« Ladies and Gentlemens, welcome to the main event of the LID Stadium which is held by the most prestigious school of all times : the Leo Institute Dueling, tonight, we might be able to witness Fusion, Synchro, XYZ and if we are lucky, the Pendulum Summon in action » said the referee to which the audience cheered at his comment « but first, let's introduce our host for tonight, the LID student known by his nicknames as the Duelist Desroyer, the King of Action Duels, the Count of Monte Duelisto... »
« Did he really need to have that amount of nicknames ? » said a surprised Zuzu as she and Yuya were taken aback of the large amount of nicknames that the LID student has.
« The Master of Disasters, the one and only, Sylvio Sawatari ! » the referee finished up as the audience cheered for him to which he replied by bowing « and for his challenger, who comes from a unknown place, we don't know anything about him as he want to keep his identity a mystery, so he would be called for this duel : Mr Mystery ! »
Compared to Sylvio, the mystery duelist received boos from the audience but that didn't seem to bother him that much.
« And now gentlemen, it is time to duel, may the best duelist win ! » the referee concluded as he leaves the ring in order to leave the two duelists alone.
« Alright then, Mr Mystery, you're gonna my warm-up match before I face Yuya once more, are you ready to be trashed in by the Neo Great Ultra Sylvio Sawatari ? » asked Sylvio but his opponent did not respond to his boast which gives a little smirk to the LID duelist « not a big talker are you ? Good, this will only make our duel more faster ».
The unknown activate his own duel disk while Sylvio activate his own.
Mr Mystery vs Sylvio Sawatari
« I feel a little bit generous today so I'll let my future victim to start first » said Sylvio to which his opponent draws his fifth card, as he checks his card, he decided to play five face-down cards which seems to end his turn much to Sylvio's and the audience surprise.
« What ? That's it ? » asked Sylvio before he entered in a laughing fit « I love it, you play the cool and mysterious guy part and yet you played a lame move like that ? Only amateurs would fall for such a trick, you expect me to summon a monster so that you will destroy it with your face-down cards ? Well, guess what, it won't work on me ».
Sylvio draws his sixth card and a smile drew on his face.
« Since Mr Mystery has two or more spell face-down cards on the field, this allows me to special summon Esther the Frost Vassal » said Sylvio as he summoned a monster wearing a blue helmet and a white coat (A:800/D:1000) « and since I didn't normally summoned yet, I'll sacrifice my Esther in order to summon Mobius the Frost Monarch ! »
Esther dissapeared from the duel to make way for Mobius (A :2400/D:2000), a giant king made out of ice who stomped onto the field, creating large gusts of icy wind on its wake, freezing a bit of Yuya and Zuzu along with the audience which surprise the young girl.
« It's freezing but how can this be ? I could litteraly feel the cold !»
« Yeah, that's strange because I can't remember that Sylvio has activated the arc system for his duels » thought Yuya.
« Do you think that the action of this duel is maybe a little bit too real right now ? » wondered Zuzu.
« Maybe » said Yuya but despite this, the duel was still on.
« Since I manage to summon Mobius, two of your spell or trap cards are instanly destroyed so say goodbye to the ones on the end » ordered Sylvio as Mobius brought his hands together, creating miniature storm of snow and ice before releasing it, freezing over said face downs before they shattered unto pieces.
« ARE YOU ENTERTAINED ? » asked Sylvio to which the audience cheered « good, because I'm just getting started, I'll activate my spell card : Tribute Carnival ! »
« I've got a bad feeling about this ! » thought Zuzu.
« Thanks to this wonderful card, I can now do a second tribute summon during this turn and I'll sacrifice Mobius in order to summon his evolution : Mobius the Mega Monarch ! » said Sylvio as he sacrificed Mobius who encased himself in ice, forming a solid barrier around himself. Then the ice shattered, revealing a larger and more impressive form of himself (A:2800/D:1000) « Now, I know what you are thinking, shouldn't you tribute 2 monsters in order to summon Mobius the Mega Monarch ? Nope, since Mobius was tributed summoned himself, he counts as two tributes ! »
The crowd cheered at Sylvio's actions including his crownies.
« And now, it is time for the masterpiece ! Since Mobius the Mega Monarch was suceesfully summoned, I can destroy three spell or trap cards and the best part is that you can't counter his effect because since he is summoned by tributing a water monster, none of your cards can be activated in response » proudly said Sylvio as Mobius send a powerful ice storm that destroyed the mystery duelist last remaining face-down cards « Alright then, now it is punishement time, Mobius, attack Mr Mystery directly ».
Mobius prepared to launch it's attack by enlarging his ice spikes but the mystery duelist was prepared for the outcome.
« I activate three spell cards from my graveyard, The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil! »
« You WHAT ? » nearly choked Sylvio as he was shocked that he could activate his spell cards in the graveyard.
« When I am the target of an direct attack, I can special summon them from the graveyard as level 4 monsters » said the mystery duelist as he summoned three ghostfly horsemen (A:0/D:300) in the field in defense mode « which means that my life points are safe ! »
« Maybe but my attack will still eliminate one of your monsters ! » raged Sylvio as Mobius raced towards one of the Shadow Veil and manage to destroy it with its spikes.
« When Shadow Veil is destroyed, it is banished instead of going in the graveyard » said the myserious man as he sent the destroyed Shadow Veil outside of the graveyard.
« I end my turn by putting one face-down card » said Sylvio as the hologram of the card appeared on the field « you have maybe survived this round but you won't survivre the next one ».
Yuya and Zuzu were still looking at the duel but both were perplexed about the mysterious duelist gameplay.
« I don't know what is the most mysterious about this guy, the man who is behind the mask or the way he duels ? » asked Zuzu.
« Yeah, I don't know who this guy is but I can feel that he is no slouch, he managed to trick Sylvio by destroying his face-down cards so that he could summon these monsters and survive his direct attack ! » said Yuya.
« Let's end this farce » said the mysterious duelist as he draws his next card « I am now building the Overlay Network by tributing my two Shadow Veil !»
« WHAT THE HELL ? » yelled Sylvio as the audience rose from their chairs like Yuya and Zuzu did as they were shocked, the man is about to do a XYZ summon !
« Holy shit, that guy is XYZ summoning ? » asked one of Sylvio's crownies.
« No way, only top LID students could do that ! » replied another one.
« Formed from pitch-black darkness, to fight those foolish enough to oppose it with its treacherous fangs! Now, descend! Xyz Summon! Rank 4! Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon ! » shouted the man as a large dark dragon appeared on the field and send out a fericious roar that resonated in the stadium (A :2500/D:2000/O:2).
« That dragon... »
« What is it Yuya ? » asked Zuzu as she started to be worrried about Yuya as he looked at the dragon.
« I-I don't know but something about that dragon seems to be kicking something inside of me but I can't say it for sure » said Yuya as he had a strange feeling that was inside of his chest.
Meanwhile on the ring, Sylvio's crownies starts to be frightned of the man's dragon.
« M-m-m-m-m-man, you should throw the towel » begged one of them.
« Don't worry guys, it's gonna be fine » brushed Sylvio as he has not a single hint of worry in his face.
« But that thing is huge, if it attack, it's gonna destroy the arena ! » cried another one of his crownies.
« Look at it's attack points, it's way more weaker than Mobius ! » said Sylvio.
« The power of Dark Rebellion is not within its attack power but in its Overlay Units, if I detach one of its Overlay Units, I can decrease half of Mobius attack points and give it to Dark Rebellion but I'm not gonna use only one of its Overlay Units, I'm gonna use both ! » said the man as the Overlay Units are absorded by Dark Rebellion.
« WHAT ? IT'S IMPOSSIBLE ! » raged Sylvio as his monster received a severe electrocution that caused him to slump while Dark Rebellion roared as his attack points skyrocked (Mobius A:2800-700 Dark Rebellion : 2500-4600).
« Time to eliminate your monster, Dark Rebellion, MAULING MANDIBULE DISCHARGE ! » ordered the man as Dark Rebellion's jaw glowed a dark purple, pulsing with dark energy as it rammed into the weakened monarch, destroying it and causing a violent storm that spread throughout the arena which causes the audience to be horrified of the attack and sending Sylvio flying down the mat (Sylvio:100).
« My baby boy ! » panicked the mayor as he was shocked that his son was severly injured by Dark Rebellion attack.
« Oh my god ! » said Zuzu as she clasped her hands on her hand.
« What power, Sylvio almost lost all of his life points in one attack ! » said Yuya
Sylvio struggled to get up as he was amazed and horrified of his opponent.
« W-w-w-who the hell are you ? » asked Sylvio.
« I am the one asking the question and I just wanna know one thing » said the man before he put out the LID badge that he has kept « this badge is from the Leo Institute right ? What is your connection to the Academia ?»
« Academia ? Sorry you lost me ! » joked Sylvio but the man was losing his patience.
« Don't play dumb with me, the pin in your jacket proves you are affilated with them ! »
« So what ? Everyone who enrolled in LID receive a badge like that » Sylvio defend himself which seems to dissapoint his opponent who is seems to be ready to leave the arena which confuse the entire audience along with Yuya and Zuzu but Sylvio starts to enrage as he view this as a insult to his honor « hey, asshole, the duel not over yet, I'll activate my trap card : Ice Rage ! »
A card with a image of spikes in the sea is shown.
« With this, if one of my Water monsters is destroyed, I can retaliate by destroying one of your monsters and you will take damage equal to its attack power so say bye bye to Dark Rebellion » said Sylvio but the man who sttod his ground without turning around starts to let out a sigh.
« You leave me no choice ! »
« I beg your pardon ? » angrily asked Sylvio.
« I'll activate Phantom Spear from my graveyard » the man said as a spear decorating with a skull at the tip appears on the field « when a card theartned to destroy one of my monsters, I can banish it in order to cancel it's activation and inflict 100 points of damage to the one who has activated it ».
« WHAT ? » panicked Sylvio as he realize that this spell card can eliminate the rest of his life points.
« THROW IN THE DAWN TOWEL MAN ! » begged one of Slyvio's crownies.
But unfortunaly, his demand is met with silence as the spear goes through Ice Rage and...
BAM !
The spear pierced Sylvio in his stomach, sending him flying off the mat much to everyone horror as the young boy was leaving the arena in high speed and eventually, the poor boy finished up being pinned in the wall, after a few seconds, the spear dissapeared allowing Sylvio's body to fall on the ground.
« MY GOD ! » cried Furio as he watches his son's body hit the floor where he remained motioneless.
Yuya was also looking at the scene with great shock, he was horrified that his opponent would end the duel in such a violent way, he couldn't believe his eyes, it was horrible.
Without a second thought, he immediately raced towards Sylvio to help him, an idea that Zuzu followed suit just like the journalists and reporters that immediately barged in the arena in order to see if the young boy was alright, the two young You Show duelists managed to reach Sylvio and they noticed with horror that blood was lurking from his position.
« Oh my god ! He's bleeding ! » said Zuzu.
« We need to get him to the hospital ! » said Yuya as he took Sylvio arm on his shoulder with Zuzu helping him, on the ring, the referee announced the end of the duel.
« The winner : Mr Mystery ! » said the referee before he noticed that the mysterious duelist begin to come closer to him to which he realize that he wants to talk to his mic « wait, looks like that he wants to talk to all of you ».
The man took the mic from the referee and he starts speaking to the audience.
« Declan Akaba, I know that you watching this, what I did tonight wasn't I originally planned but we know that you are the Professor's son ».
Meanwhile, Yuya and Zuzu tries to rush Sylvio in the hospital but the journalists were unknowgly blocking their path as they asked about the young boy condition.
« Is he dead ? »
« Make way, make way » begged Yuya as he and Zuzu were pushing journalists.
« And do know that, if you don't surrender to us, more of your students may suffer this fate or even worse and if I were you, I'd wish that this will never happen again ».
« Let me through ! My baby boy ! » panicked Furio as he, too, was blocked by the journalists as he wanted to see his son.
« Is he dead or alive ? » asked another journalist but Yuya and Zuzu pushed him away as they feared that if they stayed too much in the arena, Sylvio will die of blood loss.
« Because compared to you and the Academia » finished the man as he remove his googles and mask off his face « I do not believe in bloodshed but I'll swear to make you both pay ! »
The two You Show students managed to pull themselves away from the journalists but when Zuzu looks up on the ring, she let out a horrified gasp as she watched the man's face which surprise Yuya.
« Yuya, look ! » asked Zuzu as Yuya looked at the ring and what he saw, shocked him.
The man's face was one of a boy who had black hair with purple light in the front but what was the shocker for the two teenagers is that the man's face was similar to Yuya although his looked like a dangerous man as he watched Yuya with a calm but small sinister look.
Annnnnnnd done ! So how do you like my first chapter, just like I did with my french GX story (that I should really return to that story one day) I may change things as I saw fit but I will try to keep the personnalities of each characters intact as possible.
Also, I've noticed that I did some gramatical errors but I hope I managed to correct them all.
