One Year Later
Harry Wells stepped back through the portal into the familiar air of Earth-2. It was a relief to be back after everything that had happened with the Thinker. It was good to be home.
Standing just beyond the portal platform was Irina Adler. Just as beautiful as the last time he'd seen her. She smiled when she saw him and he smiled back. He was happy that she was here.
"Back, I see. We've all missed you." Irina stepped forward to greet him.
Harry descended the steps to the ground level. He'd been a fool to rebuff her before. He'd been so lost in his own guilt and grief he wasn't able to think clearly, but that was over with. He was a changed man. Closing the last steps between them, Harry pulled Irina into his arms and kissed her. It was the sort of corny romantic thing that always happened in movies but it just felt right.
Irina leaned into him, kissing him deeply in return. The two of them passed a long moment entangled in each other's arms. Pulling back to catch her breath Irina looked into his eyes. "Does this mean that you've changed your mind?"
Harry thought back to all that had happened with the Thinking Cap. All that he had lost, and all that he had gained. His mind would never be the same, but it was something he was grateful for. He'd gotten his daughter back. He'd gotten his life back. He would never again take something as precious as the electrical signals in his brain for granted. Harry looked at Irina and smiled. "Yes."
