Welcome to the redo of my old story. This story takes place during HTTYD1, except a few things have been changed, eg: Hiccup is friends with Snotlout, and he doesn't shoot Toothless down. The reason this story was deleted and then posted again, is because I am going to try and write longer chapters. This time each chapter will aimed at 2000 words or higher.

Chapter 3: Royal Family of Draconia.

Sailing further from Berk's waters was a strange, but welcome feeling for the small group of vikings sailing. On their journey for new lands, they cross many islands, dragons, and other sailors making sure to stock up on materials.

After a few days of sailing, the group arrive at a wall of rock columns and spires reaching the heavens.

"Well, how do we get around this?" asks Fishlegs looking at the tall spires of rocks.

"Perhaps we sail around and find a suitable entrance?" says Gunnald gesturing to the right side of the spires.

"A suitable suggestion." says Lodin grabbing out the map of the archipelago. "Seems like we are here... looks like if we continue to the left we will see a big enough gap."

After looking at the map and seeing where Lodin was gesturing to, everyone understood. Sailing along the wall of spires revealed to them that there was indeed an opening.

"How'd you know?" asks Arnlaug.

"The archipelago map has a detailed layout of spires with blank space on the inside." says Lodin showing them.

"Shall we begin this journey?" asks Hiccup towing the ship into the spires.

"Let's go!" says Gunnald looking ahead at the spires as they pass the ship.

As their journey passes through the spires, the spires start to get more carved and detailed. Some look like faces whilst others look like heads, and some even looking like complete figures.

"Look at the detailed on those spires." says Arnlaug gesturing to the spires passing their ship.

"By the looks of the detailed patterns, it seems to be an Imperial layout from some place called The Land of the Nightfury. Apparently it's the last known home of the Nightfury." says Fishlegs looking at Bork the Bold's books.

"Well let's not stop here." says Hiccup continuing the path.

As the end gets near, the ship enters through a much larger wall of spires.

"I guess we're nearing our destination?" asks Lodin looking at the tall spires of rock.

"Looks like it." says Hiccup seeing something in the distance. "Look over there!"

The group takes notice of what looks to be some sort of large island sitting in the middle of the spire walls. The only visible thing on the island is the forests that coat the island, and a few waterfalls.(HTTYD3 New Berk)

"I guess we've found our way home." says Hiccup.

"I guess so." says Gunnald.

"Uh, I wouldn't be so sure." says Fishlegs gesturing to what looks to be like a small group of dragons flying their way.

"Are those...?" asks Lodin looking into the sky.

"Fishlegs, what kind of dragons do they look like?" asks Arnlaug.

"Uh, according to the Book of Dragons that we have made on our journey here." says Fishlegs looking through the book. "They appear to be 3-4 Deadly Nadders, being led by what seems to be a Skrill."

"Well then, let's be ready to greet our new friends." says Hiccup releasing the anchor.

"Halt there intruders!" yells one of the men on the dragons. "These waters are Draconian waters, and you are trespassing!"

"Sorry, what did you say?" asks Lodin grabbing the map. "According to my map there is no such thing as Draconia."

"Well then believe me. This whole continent you see in front of you is under the ruling occupancy of Draconia's Second Dynasty." says another man.

"Ok, well sorry for intruding on your waters. We didn't know." says Hiccup.

"You have been ordered by King Aurelius of Draconia." says another man. "Please state your names."

"My name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the 3rd, ex-heir of Berk." says Hiccup stepping forward.

"State that again... did you say you were Hiccup Haddock the 3rd of Berk?" asks the leader hopping off his dragon.

"Yes, why is it important?" asks Hiccup.

"About 300 years before today, it was told that a young viking of Berk would come sail on our waters. And if he did, we would welcome him with open arms... as he is the 'only hope of continuing our domain'." says the leader taking off his helmet. "My name is Prince Valentine, leader of the Knights of Draconia, and the last Flyer of Royal blood."

"These are my friends, Fishlegs Ingerman, Arnlaug and Lodin Mapleson, and Gunnald Bjornsson." says Hiccup shaking hands with 'Prince Valentine'.

"Perhaps we shall escort you to the Royal Palace." says Valentine going to his men. "Torja, get an audience with the king at once."

"Yes my Prince." says Torja taking a quick bow and heading back.

"Well we should get going... I'm afraid my father the King, gets impatient."

"Alright, lead the way." says Hiccup following the riders through the entrance and seeing the beautiful sight of Draconia sitting in front of them. "Wow, better than Berk."

"Call it 1500 years of progress." says Valentine. "The city was built many years ago, on the main continent, but then the Elders had received a vision, bringing them here."

"Sounds like your people went through a lot." says Fishlegs.

"We did, long before my family was born, the Lord of Southern Draconia had sent some scouts here. Back then we travelled on ships, so the trip was longer and more tiring." says Valentine. "Apparently when the settlers started building their town, a big fire had eradicated what was left of Old Draconia. So only Southern Draconia was... then the next 400 years, after being settled, the people started to gather the rest."

"So how long did that take?" asks Lodin.

"Well, the stories say it still isn't done, some of Draconia's older families went on and started villages on their way to search for this place. But, then a Great Beast rose from the sea and started attacking." says Valentine. "I believe your people call it the Dragon-viking wars."

"DO you know what tribes were built by Old Draconians?" asks Fishlegs.

"Unfortunately, the Great Library was destroyed. So any records of tribes founded were destroyed." says Valentine. "All we know is the founders of those villages, are dead and have no records of Draconia."

"My dad used to tell me stories of my mother's family, apparently her family were sailors who found Berk whilst looking for a place called 'Solitude'. Instead they stayed on Berk and their daughter married my father." says Hiccup.

"According to Draconian History, the place of Solitude was once an Outpost of Old Draconia, supposedly it led to a place known as 'The Hidden World'." says Valentine. "It was once a decreed site of Draconia, being the home to the Nightfury covert."

As the border of spires pass, the mountains ahead become clearer.

"Welcome to Draconia." says Valentine towing their ship into the royal docks.

"Attention there sailors... and riders. This is the Royal Docks, only the Royal Family of Draconia have access to use these docks." says the Dockmaster.

"Well it's a good thing they have my permission to dock here then." says Valentine hopping off his dragon.

"Oh, Prince Valentine... I didn't see you there. Pardon my words sir." says the dockmaster.

"All good, my friend. Now I believe the King is waiting for us." says Valentine.

"Of course sir." says the dockmaster allowing them to pass. "Welcome to Draconia."

Walking along the docks, the group of vikings can see the great city above. As they arrive at the Palace Gates, the doors open to reveal Torja standing on the inside talking to a young woman around 17-18 years old.

"Welcome to Draconia. Madam these are the vikings of Berk I was telling you about." says Torja.

"Well then, my name is Seraphina, Princess of Draconia." says Seraphina. "My father the King awaits your arrival in the Royal Hall."

"How goes the royal lessons sister?" asks Valentine.

"Well they're a pain. Too much work." says Seraphina. "Sometimes I wish I could join the Flyers."

"Why can't you?" asks Fishlegs arriving at a large door.

"The law of Draconia states that the eldest daughter of the Royal Family must train to be queen." says Valentine pushing the door open. "That's essentially the law. When I was younger I came across a Skrill that had been shot down by a bola when we were fighting against a man named Jarl Ragnar Bloodaxe."

"Not a welcome name here in Draconia." says King Aurelius sitting on his throne. "Welcome back son, and daughter."

"My Liege, I bring forth Hiccup Horrendous Haddock and his friends from Berk." says Valentine standing to the side after taking a bow.

"Welcome Hiccup and friends. It has come to my attention, that you were caught trespassing crossing our waters. Is this true?" asks the King.

"My King, if I may. We were sailing to find a new place to live after we left Berk, and accidentally crossed into your waters." says Fishlegs stepping forward.

"What caused you to leave Berk?" asks the King.

"For many years, we have been the bane of Berk. It was always believed that we were what caused the raids on Berk. So we decided to build a ship and sail off never to go back." says Hiccup.

"Very well then. And how did you find your way here?" asks the King.

"We took a book from Berk written by a 'Bork the Bold', one of Berk's last known explorers." says Lodin.

"If I may interrupt my King, I remember a Bork the Bold sailing past about 30 years ago." says one of the Kings men.

"I agree, in my lessons I was told of a sailor who was reported but was never brought before the throne." says Valentine. "Apparently the Nightwatcher at the time saw a light coming and sent a message to King, but their ship passed on by, never minding the columns."

"He must have sailed around your spires because he passed this down to his great, great, great Grandson Gobber the Belch." says Lodin handing the king a map.

"My Liege, it appears that this map has a few empty spaces, including right here." says Valentine pointing at the empty spot surrounded by spires.

"As long as our existence stays a secret to our enemies. Wouldn't want Bloodaxe to return." says Aurelius standing from the throne. "I see no reason to hold you in a cell, so you are welcome to explore the city. I will be sending my son and daughter with you to give you the Royal Tour. If you wish to stay somewhere, you can either stay in the Draconia Inn, or I'm sure we can find some rooms for you inside the castle."

"Let's go see the city." says Valentine heading outside the palace.

"Welcome to Draconia, a city steeped in history and mystique. As you enter through the towering gates, the first thing that captures your attention is the grandeur of the city's architecture. The cobblestone streets wind their way through majestic stone buildings adorned with intricate dragon motifs, a testament to the city's deep connection to these mythical creatures. Your first stop is the remnants of the Great Library, a once towering structure that held the knowledge of generations. Though now scarred by fire and destruction, its charred walls still echo with the whispers of forgotten tales. Scholars and historians are working tirelessly to restore what was lost, their passion evident in the meticulous care with which they handle ancient manuscripts. As you stroll through the city, you come across the Draconia Inn—a haven of warmth and simplicity. Despite its unassuming exterior, the inn's interior is adorned with tapestries depicting the city's history and the adventures of the ruling family. The air is filled with the comforting aroma of hearty meals and the gentle hum of conversation. Moving towards the docks, you encounter old and weathered ships share the harbor with sleek, state-of-the-art vessels. The sea breeze carries the scent of salt and adventure as sailors prepare their ships for the next voyage. The docks are alive with the shouts of traders, the creaking of wooden hulls, and the distant calls of seagulls." says Seraphina leading them through the city. "If you take a closer look at the Construction Districts, you will see some new ships being built."

"Can you tell us anything about these new ships?" asks Lodin.

"Unfortunately, I am not able to share information of the new vessels we are constructing." says Valentine. "All I will say is that they will bring forth more security and safe protection upon our borders."

"Have you made a decision on where you will be staying?" asks Seraphina.

"Well we were thinking of staying in the palace if that was alright with your father." says Gunnald. "Would be quite interesting to see how different the meals are from Berk."

"Sounds good to us." says Valentine leading the way back to the palace.

As the sun starts to go down, the group enters the Hall and has a wonderful dinner. The food served was vastly different from what is served on Berk. Now they head to their shared room, for the night where they would talk, or discuss the many differences between Berk and the large landscape of Draconia.
