There was no way to escape, curious albeit skeptical eyes looking her over as the daiyoukai lounged under a tree. Kagome hadn't felt so much as a twinge of her power, realizing too late that she'd suppressed it.

The purpose behind it could've been anything, but given Sesshoumaru's warnings, it had to be something nefarious.

Hoping she hadn't done anything to spark her interest, Kagome bowed. "Forgive me, my lady. I hadn't realized you—"

"Has my son employed humans to serve his guests? Will wonders never cease?" His mother sighed, then motioned to the spread of tea sitting beside her. "Very well, you may pour the tea. But any drop spilled will result in a lost limb."

Ah-Un snorted in a very 'I tried to warn you' sort of way, and Kagome glared at them over her shoulder, keeping a tight lock on her reiki as she approached. Refusing would only increase the likelihood of being caught, and while she didn't like the idea of being reduced to a servant, she wasn't about to make things difficult for Sesshoumaru, either.

"As you wish." Careful not to disturb the spread, and for once thankful she'd joined Rin and Sango during Kaede's tea ceremony lessons, she arranged the cups, turning the pot in specific directions to avoid offending the daiyoukai in any way.

She could feel her eyes on her, calculating every move, but the tension lessened when the cup was presented in immaculate condition. His mother inclined her head in thanks, then motioned to a second one, Kagome's hackles raising in alarm. "It is not my place to—"

She waved her off. "I doubt you have any other duties more important than this today," she said with a flourish. "My son is avoiding me, and I am bored."

Ah-Un snorted again but kept their distance, and Kagome was forced to pour another cup for herself. So much for a quick exit.
