A (not so short) treatise on popular, commonly known ramen brands and their highs and lows

Let me begin by stating each has its benefits and letdowns. I will also mention that soba noodles are delicious but shall not be counted, as they deserve their own categorization and won't be relegated to the ramen competition. This being stated, I lay before you the top categories

1.- Buldak. Incredibly spicy, delicious, save for a day when you can be on the toilet all next day

2.- Shin noodles are generally superior in flavor and additives, I especially prefer their beef bone broth soup and their seafood soup. They take a little longer to soften, and never get quite as al dente as typical ramen, but nevertheless generally superior.

3.- "Maruchan en vaso". Specifically in a cup, I'll note. Something about that styrofoam noodle hits different, especially with some lime. I generally go for the spicy lime and shrimp ones.

4.- Square Maruchan. Good, noodles easily become al dente. Solid choice.

5.- Sopa Nissin. Will only choose if no other options. Noodles tend to be tasteless, broth powder isn't hearty and lacks flavor.

Now, please note that this list is of the most common brands and there are others I enjoy or hate but this is about brands you would probably know.

Also, please note this is each of these as they come If I'm permitted additives such as cilantro, tajín, lime, and salmon, this list can get chaotic very quickly. This is mostly because I have over a dozen spices in addition to multiple different fresh options like cilantro, basil, and chile serrano. With each of these, even a normal square ramen can be turned into something amazing, or if used wrong can ruin even the best.

Final note and tip. When eating spicy buldak, eat with plenty of milk and tortillas handy — not only for flavor, but also for self preservation because you very well might pass out or suffer permanent damage if you eat too much without fighting the spice with these things. If nothing else, get a piece of baguette, or some cheese slices.

If I'm perfectly honest with myself, nobody will really ever visit my account so I have not the foggiest idea why I'm writing this... but It's 2:00 a.m., I'm bored, and I might as well do this as watch some cruddy Netflix flic or show.

I've been writing short stories and things like that since I was in third grade (up until about a year or so ago, my writing was pretty much trash, I have no delusions), and it's really just my way of feeling like at least I know SOMETHING in my life (even if it's really my characters' lives) will work out. I sometimes struggle with depression, but I have an amazing family that helps me through it all! And my two best friends. They laughed at me when I told them about my fanfiction addiction (ooh that rhymes) so their coolness factor went down like 15%, but they're still pretty awesome.

My best friend on here is, without a doubt SetFiresJust2WatchThemBurn. They're amazing (I think we have like 13 separate chat threads so that's pretty hilarious and awesome at the same time. Because they're awesome). While they doesn't have anything written on here, they're writing an excellent Hunger Games SYOT on FictionPad, under pretty much the same name: SetFiresJustToWatchThemBurn. Lemons are basically, let me sum it up for you: "He shoved his (Censored) into her (Censored) and then they (Censored)." Lemons are just lazy writing for horny teens. Not that I'm not a teen with those desires but... really? Fanfiction?

- Girls telling me I'm sexist because I open the door for them (First off, I open the door for everyone. Second off, I'm showing you respect...)
