AN: Just a one-shot drabble about Gojo and Hermione.
She keeps on falling through the darkness while her screams remain soundless.
She feels like there is no end in sight.
The voices of the dead are loud around her and she expects to find some ghosts drifting in this place but to her consternation she can't find any.
She can only see a prick of light in the distance which she seems to be nearing.
She is afraid of what she might see at the end of this terrifying journey.
She hopes she is going to a good place and not in some place with eldritch monsters.
However, before she reaches the light, Hermione Granger finds herself blacking out as she hurtles out of the darkness and into a place where a certain white-haired sorcerer is fighting a curse.
"What in the - " Gojo Satoru says as a bright light nearly blinds him.
A moment later, there is a loud thud nearby as if something heavy landed on the ground. Not wanting to get distracted, he launches an attack and easily exorcizes the curse with his six eyes. In an instant, he watches as the curse spirit swiftly disappears from his sight.
Good riddance! He thinks.
Then, he turns around to investigate the sound he heard earlier and swiftly discovers a figure lying on the ground not too far away from him.
He arches a brow at the sight before him.
The figure on the ground hasn't been there before he arrived.
He approaches the figure carefully.
As he draws near, he immediately notes the wild brown curls and the frumpy get-up the figure is wearing. He soon realizes it is a woman he is looking at.
He crouches beside the woman and regards her for a moment. The woman is pretty with a long nose, a Cupid's bow mouth, high cheekbones and freckles scattered on her cheeks. He can't see the color of her eyes yet, but he bets that they are pretty like her.
The woman starts to stir. A groan escapes from her mouth while her eyes slowly open.
And he is right. Her eyes are as pretty as her.
They are the color of melted chocolates.
Hermione feels sore. It feels like she has gone through a blender. Maybe close to it because the last time she remembers is falling through the veil.
Am I dead? She thinks with concern.
She lets out a groan and slowly opens her eyes.
Her sight immediately locks on a pair of the most beautiful eyes she has ever seen. They belong to a handsome figure with white hair, who is crouching beside her.
"Are you God?" is the first thing that comes out of her mouth because why not?
If Hermione is dead, then this figure in front of her must be God, who comes to judge her worth.
At her question, the handsome figure lets out a laugh of amusement before he replies with a foreign accent.
"I'm not God…I want to be one though," the man looks contemplative for a moment before he grins. "But you can still call me God if you want. I won't mind."
Hermione stares at him and wonders what reality she has ended up in.
"Am I dead?" is her next question.
"No, you are not. You are very much alive," comes the mysterious man's reply.
"Oh," she murmurs uncertainly. "Where am I then?"
"You are in Tokyo, Japan," the man answers.
Tokyo, Japan? Does it mean I'm still in my original world? She thinks while a sense of relief wash over her. Maybe I still am. But I don't know why I ended up in Japan though.
"You appeared out of nowhere. Care to explain that?" The man asks.
Hermione hesitates before saying, "It's a long story. And I don't think you will believe me anyway."
She really doesn't want to reveal anything to a potential muggle about what really happened to her or else she will be going against the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy.
"Try me," the man says.
"Am…may I know your name first before I tell you anything?" She says instead.
"My name is Gojo Satoru," the white-haired man replies. "And you are?"
"Hermione Granger," she introduces herself as she finally sits up from the ground.
She lets out another groan when she feels a throbbing pain on her back.
I must have fallen really hard when I arrived here, she inwardly concludes.
"Do you need medical help?" The man - Gojo - asks in concern.
"No, I'm fine," is her swift response. "Just give a minute and I will be good as new."
"Alright,"
There is a short pause as Hermione tries to gather her strength.
"So are you a jujutsu sorcerer? Because I can't help but notice the portal you came from. Was that your curse technique?" Gojo inquires.
Hermione is startled at his question and simply gapes at him because he apparently saw what has deposited her here.
Is he a wizard then? She silently wonders. He mentioned some kind of sorcerer. So he is a sorcerer? How do I answer his question?
After a moment of indecision, Hermione decides to be honest with the man who found her.
"Am…I am a witch from Britain," she says carefully, "And I arrive here by accident. It wasn't my technique that brought me here."
"You are a what now?" Gojo asks in obvious confusion.
"I am a witch," she says with emphasis on the word.
The man stares at her in disbelief.
"Do you mean a jujutsu sorcerer?" He asks.
"What's that even mean?" Hermione replies, looking confused as well.
"Jujutsu sorcerer? You know…who uses curse energy or curse techniques to exorcise curse spirits?"
"Exorcise Curse spirits? Are you asking me if I'm an exorcist?" She inquires with a touch of disbelief in her voice. "Because I'm not an exorcist."
"No, not an exorcist! A jujutsu sorcerer who takes down curses!"
"Do you mean a curse breaker? Because I'm not one as well," she informs him.
"Perhaps it's better that I show you what I mean," the man replies, sounding exasperated. "You better come with me then."
Hermione watches as the man stands up and extends his hand to her. She accepts it and allows herself to be pulled up.
"Where are we going?" She asks him as she stands beside him.
"You will see soon enough," comes the man's mysterious reply. "Here. You need to wrap your arms around me."
"Are we apparating there?" Hermione inquires as she slowly wraps her arms around him. She flushes when she realizes how close she is to the man where she can already smell his intoxicating scent. A mixture of mint, sandalwood and something uniquely him.
"I don't know what that word means but we are traveling through my method. So you better hang on tightly," is his reply.
Hermione tightens her hold on him.
"Are you ready?" He asks her, looking down at her from his great height.
The man is so tall that the top of her head barely brushes his chin.
"Yes, I am ready," comes her nervous reply.
"Good. Then, let's go." He says right before Hermione is whisked away to a location where she will soon discover something.
She will soon find out that she is no longer in her original world but in a different dimension entirely.
Fortunately, Gojo Satoru is willing to help her with his resources and Hermione decides to stay in Japan with the intent on returning to her old world.
Unfortunately, she falls in love with a certain sorcerer with a god complex, who does the same to her.
Their love for each other is doomed, but they make do with what they have left of their time together before Hermione leaves for her old world.
Or does she?
