The Beautiful Region of Kalos
Regions all over the world would call this region a wonderful to travel and live in from the scenic flower routes, bright city of Lumiose and, of course, filled with mysteries about the great Pokémon War that was shrouded in history, and most importantly, the power of Mega Evolution. Nobody knows where the power of Mega evolution came from, but some believe it originated from this region and the tragic love between a Golurk and a Floette.
YEAR 20XY
Many years after the Great Pokémon War, battling was not seen as a way of gaining strength or power over territory and others but as a way of fighting for fun and making friends. Pokémon would use this as a form of entertainment amongst the regions, seeing who is the strongest out of them all.
The stadium was filled to the brim with Pokémon of all types, screaming at the top of their lungs, cheering for whoever was in the ring now. Everyone was crying out for their respective teams to win, but the crowd cried out for the champion's team, specifically the champion herself.
The Goodra was panting, trying to catch his breath as the Gardevoir stood across from them...staring at him with a blank expression. The Goodra stuttered for a bit before gasping in a large amount of air as a fire started to form within his mouth. It grew larger, but it was too late for the dragon man. A bright moon lingered over him, the little sparkles spreading all over the stadium and arena. This told him that his time on the battlefield was ending soon. The Gardevoir looked from afar, staring down at him, watching the sweat drip onto the ground, finishing by throwing her arm down.
A sparkling ball of light was shot from the moon and down toward the Goodra. The fighter saw it and tried to fire the attack, but the blast hit him before he could react. A giant cloud of smoke filled the arena before clearing to reveal the Goodra lying on the ground, grunting in pain. A loud voice screamed from the speakers.
"And there goes the last member of Team Calem! Which means Champion Gardveroir and her team have won the match!" The announcer screamed into the microphone, causing the stadium to erupt in loud chants for the champion.
The beaten Goodra tried to push itself up to attack or even move but came face-to-face with the champion. The Champion wore a simple puffed-out white dress with two red fins sticking out of her chest and backside. Her short, curled green hair covers one of her eyes, but only one was more than needed to make the Pokémon shiver in fear. That glowing red eye stared him down, and the emotionless expression on her face. The Goodra knew that if he stood, even for a second, he wouldn't last half of it with her still.
"Damn, that Gardevoir is using the mega form as if it was her regular form. She's not even taking breaks between battles with it. Makes you wonder why they're even allowed outside of Kalos and Alola," One voice laughed as he stepped out of the way for the nurses to help the wounded fighter.
This was Ryan the Rhydon, a beefcake from head to toe. He was the muscle of the group and the best friend of the leader of the group. Ryan wore only a simple gray tank top and black shorts since other forms of clothing irritated his skin and his tail, plus trying to get a normal shirt on with his horn was annoying enough.
He and the other Pokemon in the tunnel watched the nurses help the Goodra onto a stretcher and down to the emergency room; hearing the groans coming from the man caused Ryan to shiver in fear.
The other man just stood there, staring out at the arena, directly at the champion herself. Almost no emotion could describe how he was feeling or thinking about. A rainbow color aura surrounded the champion before the aura broke into pieces, changing her into a normal white dress with one red fin sticking out of her chest. She slowly looked toward the entrance and saw the one staring at her.
"Come on, River. You know that our teammates can deal with her, even if she uses that form on her."
His name was River the Greninja. The leader of the group that was up next to battle the champions. He wore a simple tan color shirt covered by a blue jacket with the ends up toward his ears, blue pants and blue slip-on shoes. He would need to wear light clothing in order to gain more speed. After staring out for a bit, he looked back toward his buddy and nodded.
"Yeah, but you know why she will always use that form. Since Mega has been banned from most of the regions due to its nature of them and the history surrounding it, it would only make sense to use it here whenever you would have a chance." River stated as he tapped Ryan on the shoulder.
"Dad, Mr. Ryan!" A voice in the distance cries out to the two.
The two turned around to the voice and immediately smiled at what they saw coming.
A young tan-ish skinned child with short light blue hair wearing an oversized blue jacket that covers their entire body, only leaving their blue shorts being shown as they ran down the hall wearing sports tape covering part of their feet and hand. But what stood out for the child was their bright yellow eyes and their big smile.
Walking slowly behind them was a pale skin woman with long purple hair wearing a simple purple dress that reached down to her ankles. She smiles, waving at the two as they wave back.

"Alma! Kara!" River and Ryan happily cried out.
River happily went over to hug and kiss his wife and ruffled his kid's hair. Alma pouted as they fixed their hair back into place.
"Hey, Kiddo, how's it going?" River smiles down at his kid.
"I am doing great! I cannot wait for you, Mr. Ryan and everyone else to go out there and become the champions of Kalos! I know the champion will go last, and I think you should go last, dad!"
Alma excitedly stated as they moved all around the area, filled with energy and spurting out ways they could attack the champions. River laughs at his child's enthusiasm and "strategy" to take on the champions. He lifted his kid into the air and onto his shoulders, laughing as Ryan and Kara joined in the laugh.
"You make a good point there, kiddo. But you know her fairy and electric moves are super effective toward me, right?"
River nervously chuckles, knowing that he shouldn't go up against the champion himself. He didn't want to risk his teammates but knew that one of them had a move that was super effective against her. Alma stopped moving around and looked down at their father, still supporting that smile on their face.
"I know, but you're super-fast and hid in the shadows like a ~ninja~."
Alma changed their voice to sound mysterious as they used the hood as if it was a ninja's mask. They used one of his sleeves as a scarf, pretending it was following in the wind. This caused everyone around him to laugh even harder. Alma was blushing red in embarrassment.
"Would Team River please make their way toward the arena?" The announcer announced through the speakers.
River and Ryan looked toward the arena, ready to face their final challenge as a team. Alma gave their father one more hug on the leg and smiled for good luck. River smiled back and made his way toward the stadium, with the rest of his team following suit. After some time and fights passed by, Ryan was backing away from the champion Gardevoir as she charged toward the Rhydon and, using her arm coated in electricity and sliced his arm clean in half. Ryan screamed out in pain as he fell to the ground.
"Ryan!" River screamed out.
He jumped over the hurdle and ran onto the battlefield to help out his friend. Ryan was rolling in pain, clenching his arm tightly. River looked around him and found his severed arm in the champion's hand.
She just watched River giving her a look of pure rage, wanting the man to attack her. But the Gardevoir kept a straight face that sent a shiver down the ninja's spine. She tossed the arm toward River and walked back to her end of the field.
"GET BACK HERE, YOU BICTH!" River screamed out for the Gardevoir to come back here.
But she kept on walking away.
This Gardevoir, this champion, her beauty was overtaken by her dangerous aura. Everyone in the stadium was terrified by her look and power alone. Even her teammates were a bit taken aback by her attacks.
"Hey, buddy, don't you dare die on me, okay!?"
Ryan panted heavily, looking down at his severed arm and crying out in pain. He looked up toward a frightened River.
"River…. I am-"
Ryan tried to apologize to his friend for being weak but stopped mid-sentence as he saw River putting his hand up in front of him, telling him to say no more. He calls out for medical staff to help his friend off the arena and somewhere he can get his wound healed. Nurses came running down and helped the poor man to the room.
"It's okay, you did your best, and that's all its matters."
River quietly stated as he watched his friend being sent away and him holding on. He sighed and turned around toward the champion, staring her down with rage filling his heart. With each second he stood there, River could feel his anger rising more and more within. Knowing this was probably what she wanted out of him.
"Well, it looks like your friend is down for the count and by the looks of the others… a single blow would easily knock them down."
River looks over his shoulder to see his team beaten, bruised and out of stamina. He looked up to the stands to find his wife with a worried look on her face while looking toward his kid to see a confident smile on their face. River smiled back and gave them a thumbs-up, signifying that he was going to do what he needed to do.
"So, what would it be, frog boy? Retreat now and have you and your friends be spared from the tragedy of me… or face me with your dying breath?" Gardevoir stated sternly as she ready her fist with lighting surrounding it.
River took a deep breath as he prepared himself to fight against her with the last bit of his energy within him. He slowly arched down and started to summon two water stars in his hand. The Gardevoir smiled as she was ready to charge at River.
"I'm not going to put my teammate's life on the line, so I guess I'll be your opponent!" River confidently stated as he rushed toward the Gardevoir.
River's ability started to kick in, and water began to surround the ninja. Gardevoir, already in her mega form, charges at River with her fist covered in lighting. The stadium cheered on River, especially little Alma, with their excitement at the max. The two Pokemon neared each other and were finally face to face. River and Gardervoir's attacks clashed with each other, creating a shockwave and blowing a huge gust of wind throughout the stadium. Everyone fell silent as the two fighters stood still for a few minutes. Nobody, not even the announcer, spoke a single word… until.
"ALMA!"
River screams out at the top of his lungs, calling for his child to listen carefully. Alma was excited, but slowly, their expressions into confusion and finally into terror as they saw what was happening. Drops of blood hit the arena, coming from Gardervoir's hands and River's chest. River was staggering to hold his footing, but his time was soon up.
And with the last bit of strength within him, he screamed at the top of his lungs and shouted!
"PROMISE ME THAT YOU'LL MAKE ME AND YOUR MOTHER PROUD! AND YOU PROVE YOURSELF THAT YOU'RE GOING TO BE THE BEST!"
River cries out once more… before his body soon drops to the ground, and a puddle of blood surrounds him.
-River has Fainted-
"DAD!"
Alma's cries filled the stadium as everything around them faded away, leaving only them in the dark void. Once the floor beneath him disappeared, they began to fall into the void, with everything and everyone flashing before their eyes. Tears fell down his face as they cried out for this not to be real, wanting their father to believe still that he was alive and the Gardevoir on the ground.
"Please, Please, PLEASE LET THIS BE A DREAM!" Alma screamed in their head, wanting to wake from this nightmare
"Wake up, Young one…"
A voice screamed out for the young Froakie to wake up.
Alma pushed themselves up from the ground, looking around to see that it was nighttime, and he ended up in some old runes covered in a thick fog. They did not know what to do but knew that standing there wouldn't help and that getting attacked by something would be worse.
The young frog was walking through a field filled with withered flowers and dead trees, but what scared them the most were the bodies of Pokemon on the ground. Each was covered in blood, and armor pieces were scattered around the area. This scared the young child, causing them to run closer to the light.
They made it to the place that housed the bright light and noticed a crystalized flower in the middle of the area. But what stuck out for them was a figure in the distance. It appeared to be a Golurk, slowly walking toward the young Froakie. Their armor tore apart with each step they took. Alma could only stand there and watch them walk closer.
The man towered over the child, with pieces of his stone armor falling off him and onto the ground. Despite being towered over in height and alone with him, Alma showed no fear or anything; it was as if he could not feel anything. But he could hear it in the man's voice. The man was…. sad.
"Have you seen my love…. my…. Florette?" The Golurk depressingly asked the young Froakie.
Alma wanted to tell the man how losing someone he cared about felt. But, before they could speak, the ground began to shake as Alma staggered around to get their footing. Alma looked past the man to see the beam about to collide with the machine. He started to run away from the machine and the man.
But, it was too late as the beam collided with the machine and caused a giant explosion that consumed the man, the bodies of Pokemon and soon Alma. They reached out their hands to escape…
"I Miss Her…"
