Midoriya Izuku at the tender age of 6 feels like he's going to die and maybe…he was as his body was racked with pain and he was feeling colder by the minute.
How did this come to pass? Well lets go back 20 minutes or so Izuku saw Katsuki Bakugo and his lackeys bulling a kid in the park and so the heroic spirit in him wouldn't let that pass so he gotten between the bullies and the victim.
With his hands out and looking as intimidating as possible he says "Stop, Kacchan that's no way to use your quirk!" he said bravely though inside he was a shaking mess considering he is going against his "best friend" with a quirk while he had none.
Yes you heard right he had no quirk though 80% of the world has quirks the 20% that doesn't were that of the older generation and future generations practically all gotten quirks he was a 1% someone who had no quirk factor someone in Kacchan terms who were useless a Deku.
Yet despite his hellish year and half of being bullied, beaten, and belittled, he still clung desperately to his dream; his dream of one day becoming a hero like All Might.
As so going back to early while he tried to protected the victim it was a one sided beat down and the finale was when there was a bit too much nitrogen deployed by Bakugo which made a larger than normal explosion which sent him flying a good few feet away hitting the ground and rolling like a ragdoll till he finally came to a stop on his side unconscious.
Izuku was a very smart boy he was smarter than anyone among his peers and he knew with his pain fogged brain that Kacchan and his lackeys will not say anything to scared to fess up to what they did and the victim probably was scared too like himself they were just children so he guess he probably has a little while more before he passes on.
Thinking about it, this could be a good thing he knew how quirkless people were treated and many job opportunities his mother had missed because she had a quirkless child as well so this could be a very good thing at least he would not be a burden to his mother so as he slowly fades away his thoughts become more fuzzy and he feels like it almost time to go and maybe he'll get a quirk in his next life.
As he was about to pass he felt warmth, he felt safe, and he felt his pain fading away is he dead? Will he be seeing the underworld next? Will a Shikigami guide him to his next life?
Then feel fell unconscious even in his mind in darkness knowing nothing after that when he came to next he saw nothing but darkness he felt like he was still alive but why could he see anything? He heard an abnormally loud but steady breathing and the smells were overwhelming like disinfected and other medicine that smelled bitter and strong.
He also felt like something was in his mouth making him feel uncomfortable as he heard a familiar cry out and call for a doctor the familiar voice sobbing as she said "my baby…my Baby…" as he felt himself being hugged tightly and a familiar smells of mint and cookies that was wholly his mother.
He also felt some movement and heard an agitated mewing noise before he felt something lightly land on his head thought he was in bed a hospitable he takes it considering what happened before.
The Doctor comes rushing in and looks him over doing the customary check up starting and his eyes widen as the nurses start to unhook him since he's conscious the doctor looking at deep green eyes with no pupils that he was blind considering that he didn't follow the pen or flinch at the light.
The doctors sits back and ask "Midoriya-san, do you…see anything?" he asked tentatively to which the boy replies "I do are my eye still shut?" he asked worried to which the doctor shakes his head sadly "I'm sorry to tell you think young one but your blind" the doctor concluded as his mother gasp eyes as wide as possible.
"So Midoriya-san, I want you to remain calm while I explain this because quite a few things happened to you one you have a quirk in fact you have two quirks which is good news" he said cheerfully hoping to making being blind not so bad to which Izuku was shocked.
"I have…a quirk? And two of them at that…?" he trailed off dazed the doctor nodded but remembered he could see it "Yes, you do a mutation quirk a rabbit quirk and…" he trailed off as he leans forward so only he can hear "A healing quirk it's very rare and yours seem to be pretty powerful from the initial quirk force test but you must keep this secret you are too young and there are many forces villains that would just love to kidnap you for your healing skills" he finished leaning back. "So for the time being you'll be registered with a the mutation quirk rabbit and you surprisingly have a companion who will help you with your sight issues and maybe more this kitten seem quit particular and was with you the entire way when we tried to removed him but he hissed up a storm and did not hold back at brandishing his claws at us" he said amused by the cute fuzz ball.
Izuku surprised at this clumsily reaches the top of his head to feel something warm soft and furry rub their head into his touch purring pleased.
"There wasn't much we got a letter pertaining to the kitten names who is called Orion and letter detailing your two quirks of course I look at it only then burned it for safety reason and also he knows who sent it and he was sent to help safe guard him in the hospital due to said person insistence.
"Also someone did drop you off here we know not who but they would be your benefactor they also in letter said they would sent someone to help you get acclimated to your quirks and your new sightless life and I wish you well in your recovery and mastering your quirks" he said kindly as he gotten up.
"Also I will be your main care doctor for all your need and Ms. Midoriya no need for payment the benefactor is footing the bill with the trainer to that will be sent to your address and I also forgot you been in a coma for 2 years I mean everything was so important that almost slipped my mind" the doctor said as he exited the room.
The Nurse also had he settled and taken the IV out and then look at the child "So you also don't got to worry about the medical fee for this either the benefactor is also paying for it since you been in a coma for two years I'll be in charge of your physical therapy and meals so you can recover and head home quickly" the nurse finished in a sweet voice.
Ms. Midoriya bowed to the nurse then looks at her baby and caresses his cheek "I know this will be new and overwhelming for you my baby but I'm here for you and help you every step of the way" she whispered softly so happy her baby is awake.
After exchanging a few words Inko leave for work since she could take off anymore days and had to leave.
Alone with his thoughts and his new furry friend Orion he ponders everything that he was told tries to wrap his head around this as he unconsciously pets his new friend which surprisingly make he feel at ease as he comes to grip with everything.
After a few months of physical therapy and nutritious meals he is fit and ready to leave the hospital as his mother brought him a change of clothing and with his feline companion by his side nudge him and meowing which he come to communicate over the months help guide him through busy corridors with his mother behind him just in case.
Orion also hissed and meowed loudly to let people know to be careful since his partner can't see and people do watch out thanks to the cat as they make it to the car and he settles down and his cat mews hot and cold so he can buckle himself as his mother take him back to their apartment.
As he enters his apartment his tear drop tails wags cutely happy to be home his floppy ears perk up too because of his mutation he no longer has human ears and his hair cover the spots where he ears once were.
His mother smiles "I guess I can now tell what makes you happy or sad better with you tail and ears' she chuckled making him blush in embarrassment "moooooommmmmm" he drawn out not liking that he has tells now.
After getting acclimated and caught up from the two years with study of audio aid and brail books since he was an extremely bright little boy didn't take him long to catch up and head into middle school to finish his middle school education.
The next morning with cat in tow dark, reflective glasses, his walking seeing cane, and book bag he stand in front of the gates of Aldera Junior High.
The student stop to stare at him as he walks him his cane moving side to side slightly to help him walk straight as Orion walking besides him keeping a eye and meowing now and there so he can avoid tripping on rocks and going up the steps to enter the middle school.
The kids whispering which Izuku could very much hear the conversation like "Hey, I thought he died?""He's alive?""he's blind?!""Who is this cat?" they conversations go on and on and he gets rather annoyed by it but considering they all thought him dead it was to be expected.
He also heard conversion of wasn't he quirkless among other things one of the staff greet him with her voice before he ran into to "Greeting Midoriya-san I'll be you aid and guide in the school and take you to your classes my name is Mikoto, and your benefactor hired me to do so and the school agree after they been paid a large sum I am also your trainer for you quirk and getting acclimated to your new life" she said with a smile.
He kept hearing about his benefactor but never met him and when he tried to ask he gotten no answers just that his benefactor wants to help him get settled so he can stand on his own two feet sometime.
While being guided by his aid Katsuki Bakugo paled as he stared at his "best friend" very much alive with a disability and a quirk and also accepted the fact that if found out he'll accept his punishment.
The accident also caused some memory loss or so his mom informed him which meant he was still safe but if he did remember…then it would not end well for him.
On the upside almost killing Izuku brought him a shocking enlightenment that brought him clarity in a way no other did even if he was found out and he remembered and tattled he deserved it he long since mended his ways of bulling and using his quirk in the wrong way deciding to make a change for Izuku.
Even though he is so relieved that Izuku is alive and mostly well and that the trauma and near death might've activate his quirk he would no longer bully him in fact he hoped he can make amends he acted horribly and not befitting of a hero he wanted to be.
He was still rough around the edges and had a temperament issue but it wasn't nearly as bad as it was two years ago in fact he asked his mother if he can see a psychologist which surprised his mother but after explaining he had anger issues they decided to find one to help him.
Mikoto guided Izuku to his first class and to his seat as his feline friend jumped on his shoulder he unpacked his tings for class as student filed and can't help but stare at Midoriya now in their class.
Mikoto smile at Izuku though she knew he couldn't see it "For the first month I'll be guiding you and after you'll be on your own then I'll have your mother drive you to a nearby gym where I'll be training you ok?" she explained to him to which he nodded "got it I'll be in your care Mikoto-san" he said politely with a small bow in her general direction.
As class starts he follows with his brail texted book as Mikoto records and his cat which is just as smart uses his claw to pierce to paper to make bumps like a brail book taking notes for Izuku needless to say the class was shocked and impressed by this.
Even Bakugo stopped and stared at that but when he caught the cat's eye the cat glared at him fiercely which lead him to believe that cat knows and the cat will not forget what he did and he was blown the fuck away considering that cat wasn't even there to witness it.
As time went on the kids soundly avoided Izuku because of his disability and his cat even though he had a quirk now kids still treated him as an outcast after all with medical technology and quirks how can someone be born or stay blind?
Though the doctor and others tried to treat him his eyes wouldn't heal and he was pronounced permanently blind so the children believe he's cursed or made a deal or something and that he will probably become a villain because there is no way someone can have a quirk without paying a price and they assumed his sight was the price.
Of course the children loved supernatural things which is ironic considering their quirks are supernatural in nature so they love to tell tales and spread rumors which just made Izuku more of an outcast.
As the month goes be Midoriya Izuku has acclimated nicely to school life and Katsuki Bakugo has also interacted with Izuku more using his name and not calling him Deku in fact he been as nice as he could be considering how temperamental he was and also told Izuku he was taking therapy sessions.
Now despite him saying he did remember it wasn't true but he didn't want Kacchan's to be destroyed with the one blemish after all that would be a permanent mark that would haunt him for life considering he did attempted murder and although he told them he didn't remember he did and was also pleasantly surprised Kacchan was decent to him and people around him even though he had snap sometimes depending on the situation it wasn't on the level it was two years ago or so Orion informed him.
Yes you heard right informed because what he realized is that not only do they share abilities and talents like his abnormally high IQ he can also communicate to him telepathically which is very cool in his opinion.
As the month passed Mikoto had excused herself from his side and now he trains with her every day after classes which is very informative in his view and he has been learning a lot.
At the Gym after school
Izuku was sitting in a lotus position in the middle of the gym floor the gym being rented out by the mysterious benefactor and was dressed in a green gi with a white belt around his waist.
Orion also by his side as always he too is sitting down and waiting as Miss Mikoto in a pink gi and black belt was standing before him "Now Izuku-kun I will explain what kind of training we will be doing and it's two fold" he explained as she started to walk around them.
"The first we will train you physically and be fit to fight evade, defend, and if possible run away after all you're a healer not a fighter and we will also be working on your healing skills and leveling them up" she finished stopping in front of them again hands behind her back.
Izuku nods and Orion meows to what was said and Miss Mikoto nods before taking out a piece of paper and begins to read it "Dear Izuku, I am your benefactor but you cannot not see me or know my name…not yet anyway" she read out loud which had Izuku's full attention.
"I gave you two quirks as you laid dying a mutation rabbit quirk and a healing quirk, your healing quirk relies on the natural energy that earth naturally produces and I believe in the olden times called chi" she taken a breath before continuing on.
"Now like Martials artist of old your healing skills are based off that and as such I have a meditation method to help you evolve and strengthen your healing chi" she continued on.
"As such you will form a core a core is a item located in a place called a dainties (AN: I have no idea how to spelled that so if you can correct me in a review would be appreciated) as such you will have levels with said core as in Plain, bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond with which even bring back the dead would be an easy feat for you within reason of course" she carried on.
"Now your quirks has draw backs to take in energy like chi and then convert it to quirk power to heal others it will take a toll on you with mental and physical energy with which you'll have to recoup it by eating and sleeping so be very careful and asses how much energy you use after all you don't want to be killed after healing someone right?" she concluded the main part and now onto the PS "Because you are blind you have an audio with aura that comes with chi to diagnose a patient properly so no mistakes occur when applying treatment" she was almost finished with a "good luck and Farwell for now young one." She finished and put the letter up.
Izuku was stunned by this his feline companion as well "well then let's get started" Miss Mikoto said as the training began.
