Chapter 1:

"And that's the end of another episode of the crimson ranger." a brown hair boy named Issei was watching a T.V. show with his chestnut hair childhood friend Irina, both of them making poses while pretending to be the ranger himself. "The crimson ranger is so cool, always protecting people and defeating evil. When I get older I'm going to protect everyone's smiles, especially girls." Issei shouted.

"And I'll help too! But why, especially the girl's smile Issei-kun." Irina asked with a hint of jealousy.

"Because girls smile's are beautiful, like yours, Irina-chan. And as a guy and a hero I have to protect it." Issei's answer caused Irina to blush. Unknown to each other they had a crush on the other. But they both knew they were too young for dating, and they didn't mind their relationship. While they were playing, four adults walked in the room and smiled while they watched their kids play around, but they frowned at what was about to happen next.

"Irina, Issei can you come here for a moment?" Issei and Irina turned to the parents and approached them with a big smile. But as they got closer they noticed the frown on their faces. "I'm sorry to ruin your fun, but we have something to tell you two."

"What is it Kaa-chan." Issei responded. Irina's dad stepped forward.

"I'm sorry to inform you two, but because of my job Irina, we are moving next week to England." the two seven years old eyes widened and tears started to pour out Irina's violet eyes.

"When are we going to come back?"

"I'm not sure, most likely not for ten years or so." Irina's mother answered. Irina started to sob , rubbing her eyes as tears ran down her cheeks.

"But..sob...but I don't want to be away from Issei-kun, he's my friend." Issei turned to his friend and approached her and gave her a hug. It broke the adults heart to separate the two friends. The parent knew exactly how the kids felt about each, and wished they could prevent this.

"It's ok Irina," the girl and the four adults turn to Issei before he continues. "No matter how far away you are, we will always be friends, and we see each other again. Besides we are hero partners who are supposed to protect the innocents and their smiles. So we definitely see each other again." Issei said with a confident grin. The adults smiled at the boy's positive nature, while Irina stared at Issei with crimson checks and gave him a smile and nodded.

"You right, we are going to be heroes and save the world from evil. So we have to see each other again." Irina agreed. After the exchange they continued to play as their parents watched in awe, hoping the two would get married in the future.

-a week later-

Issei and his family were standing outside his house watching Irina and her family load their car. Issei was trying to hold back his tears but it was gettin harder as time drew closer for Irina departure. Irina wasn't doing any better, she wanted to stay with her brunette friend but knew she couldn't do anything about it. After they were done packing, Issei and Irina approach each other with a sad smile while frowning. "I guess this is it Irina-chan."

"Yeah, you promise we will see each other again? I'm going to miss you."

"I promise."

"Hey Issei, I really like you a lot so the next time we see each other, do you want to go o-on a d-date with me?" Irina asked with a blush on her face that matched Issei's. The chestnut girl was getting worried when Issei didn't respond right away but Issei quickly snapped out of it.

"Sure Irina-chan, whatever you want, as long as you're happy." Issei responded with a cheeky grin. Irina then launched herself at Issei giving him one last loving embrace. Issei quickly responded and the two stood there for a few seconds before separating. Irina then kisses Issei on the cheek, making him flush and extending her pinky. Issei smiled and did the same, made a pinky promise, then Irina and her parents left. Issei's dad, Tenju Hyoudou, walked up to his son and gave him a pat on the shoulders.

"So, you want to be a hero huh? I guess we have to up your training so you can become stronger. But I won't go easy on you." Tenju was a god and the son of Arie's the war god and Cupid goddess of love. He was originally from Asgard, but he moved to earth when he met the love of his life, Grace Hyoudou. Grace is a Valkyrie, who are human with talent for the magic art and war maddens who are very skilled in the art of battle as well. Valkyries are also tasked to safeguard divine beings, like Tenju, when they appear on earth, and that's how they met. Years later they fell in love and got married and had a kid. "I'll understand if you're not up for it, considering you'd never won." Tenju taunted. Grace was giggling at her husband, knowing full well what he was planning, and looking at Issei's face, she knew his plan worked.

"Oh yeah! There is no way I'm losing this time, and after I beat you, I will become a hero like I promise." issei said with a smile. Grace giggled at her son's enthusiasm before speaking.

"And after you're done training with your father, we are going to work on controlling your magic especially your fire magic, which is still weird." Grace wasn't sure, why out of all the elements, issei fire was the strongest and hard to control. He had no problem with the others, and his water and ice was weaker than the rest, but she was determined to get to the bottom of it. "We don't want you burning down the neighborhood now, would we." Issei smiled and nodded and proceeded into the house alongside his parents into the house, heading towards the basement, which was a training room bunker underground.

-1 hour later-

Issei was panting using a wooden sword as a stand, while his dad was across from him smirking as he held his own sword laying on his shoulders. "Are you giving up son? You'll never become stronger. Look I haven't broken a sweat."

"No..I..haven't..given..up" Issei answered, unknowingly to him his divine energy was increasing. Tenju smiled at his son's determination and the power he was feeling, then his face switched to one of confusion when he felt another unfamiliar power. Issei was glowing gold like divine energy supposed to, but now he has some unknown red aura mixing within it. "I will get stronger tou-san," issei grabbed the sword with his right hand, but surprising to both his father and mother, who was watching from the sideline, a red gauntlet appeared on his left hand, with a green jewel in the middle. (BOOST!) "I will become stronger!" (BOOST!) "I will be a hero!" (EXPLOSION!) Issei energy increased three folds as he charged towards, his father noticed he was extremely faster then before, Issei attacked Tenju with a horizontal slash, which blocked, but as Tenju blocked the attack, he also noticed his son's strength increased as well. He slash his sword sending Issei back on the ground. But before Issei could continue, he passed out from exhaustion and was now snoring on the ground. Tenju walked over to his son and picked up , bringing him upstairs to his room.

(dream state)

Issei was floating in a white void confused, he remembered sparring with his dad, then everything went blank. "Tou-san, kaa-chan? Where are you, what is this place?"

"We are in your mind," Issei turned around to see a red dragon staring at him and gave him a fearful look. "Don't fret child, I'm not going to hurt you. After all, you're my partner. Allow me to introduce myself, I am one of the heavenly dragons, Draig." the dragon introduced. Issei had stars in his eyes.

"You are one of the great heavenly dragons that everyone feared, that's so cool, from what tou-san told me, you and the white dragon were so strong, the three factions had to work together to seal you away. I can't believe I actually get to meet you." Issei was so excited, it confused the dragon.

"You are correct, but how do you know that about me? Most humans shouldn't know anything about that." Draig asked.

"I'm 25% human, my tou-san is the son of Aries and Cupid and kaa-chan is a war maiden." Issei answered. Draig was shocked, but soon it turned to excitement.

"So you're a demi-god?" Issei nodded, which in turn caused Draig to chuckle. "You just might be the greatest partner I've ever met, but enough of this, we will talk more later, right now you should wake up. I think your parents are worried about you, just close your eyes and we will talk later." Issei nodded and closed his eyes. Then soon disappeared.

-outside-

Issei woke up and looked around to find himself in his room. 'Was it a dream?'

'No it wasn't a dream partner.' Draig replied. Issei was excited to have a new partner and the possibilities were unknown, even though he didn't know the abilities of his new powers. While he was in thoughts, his parents walked in with smiles on their face seeing their son awake.

"Issei, you're awake." Tenju said, approaching his son while he's in bed.

"What happened?" Issei asked looking up at his parents.

"We'll while you were sparring with your father, your power started to grow. It seems it was multiplying every ten seconds when you were determined to beat your father." Grace cut in. "you also had a red gauntlet on your arm, Issei-kun."

"Hmm, I wonder if it's because of the red dragon?" Isse said out loud.

"Issei what do you mean red dragon?"

Issei explained about the dream he had and met draig. Unknown to Issei, his parents knew of the legend and was surprised that Issei being 25% was able to obtain a sacred gear and one of the 13 longinus. From what Tenju understood, Issei possessed the boosted gear and with its power Issei might be able to surpass himself. But while in thought, a magic circle appeared next to his ear. After a few minutes he turned to his wife and son with a sad look.

"While I'm happy for you sochi, I have to break the good news." Tenju began getting a concerned look from Grace and a confused one from Issei. "I have to go back to Asgard and help stop a rogue god. It seems Loki betrayed us and I was called. I won't be back for a few years but I will keep in touch." Isse started to sob a bit to his father's dismay.

"First Irina, and now you..*sniff.." Tenju approached his son and put his hand on his shoulder making him look up at him. "You can't cry Issei, remember you wanted to be a hero and what is a hero's job?"

Issei stopped sniffing and gave his father a smile. "To protect…"

"Protect people's dreams, smiles and…" Issei said starting to blush

"And?" Tenju asked with a smirk.

"And the beautiful women and their sexy bodies." Issei finished nervously making Grace smack her husband on the back of head while she shook hers.

"What? I'm just making sure his priorities are straight." Tenju defended.

"Tenju, our son will not be a womanizer." Grace said.

"But he will be a ladies man, and most likely have a harem. After all he is the son of the strongest valkyrie, and son of a war god. And if that sacred gear is what I think it is, it will only help." he then turned to his son. "Now son, get really strong and when I come back we will have that spar, ok kiddo?"

"Hai, tou-san." Tenju smiled and turned to Grace. "Take him to Baraqiel and Shuri, he can practice his magic and plus lil Akeno is very fond of him, but while you there, ask Baraqiel for Azazel. He knows about sacred gears and he's friends with Tannin, if Issei does possess the boosted gear, what better way to train a dragon than another dragon. Now I got to go." he kissed Grace on the cheek and teleported in a magic circle.
