Chapter 7 Heartbreak

Bart's POV

Owlette and I were in Studio A, as I began to speak to my girlfriend.

"Hey, Owlette, you have to hear what happened to my grandpas." I told her.

"Okay." Owlette exclaimed.

"It's insane the story is legendary anyone in the next 200 years, that is closely related to me will talk about this story." I said.

"Okay, so could I maybe hear the story?" Owlette wanted to know.

"Yeah, yeah okay you know my grandpa right?" I asked.

"Yes." Owlette answered.

"Dead always says dead." I said.

"Mmm." Owlette said.

"So he's just sitting there like on our couch, tries to point at my baby sister okay? Completely says dead but Maggie is just sitting there my dad is just at home just chilling chilling these Maddie pointing at grandpa so Homer just shrugs his shoulders and continues to watch the TV what are the chances of that?" I explained.

"Okay wait so you mean to say, that your grandpa said dead and pointed at Maggie?" Owlette wanted to know.

"Yeah." I said.

"Well, is he okay?" Owlette asked.

"My grandpa? He's fine he's just crazy." I told her.

Okay, I might have exaggerated the truth but it's the truth I'm not exaggerating a lie.

That's when Peter walked in.

"All right guys I have an announcement love that Grandpa story!" Peter said.

"All right guys!" Peter exclaimed.

"Now you see Peter understands this." I told her as we both got up and joined the others.

"I want to explain the rules to Nationals to you okay? Nationals is really different than Regionals." Peter started to explain.

"It's all group dances?" Owlette said.

"No, it's way different than Regionals guys." Izzy told her.

"Basically Nationals has six categories the first round is male solo then you move on and you go to small groups which around 3:00 to 6 dancers there's duets." Izzy explained even more.

"And then female solo." Izzy exclaimed.

"And after that, we do a group dance for semi-finals and finales." Peter said.

"And both the final groups are ten dancers each." Peter exclaimed.

"It's an elimination competition which means if you lose one round you're out." Peter told us.

Honestly, I kind of like the Nationals rules I think it's kind of cut throat and I like that.

"Okay, I just want to focus on solos, and duets for now." Peter said.

"I think Jake is a should do the duet, I mean they are pretty much the reason we won regionals." Owlette told us.

"Yeah!" Everyone said.

"Of course." Jake agreed as he and Izzy hugged each other.

Cubby's POV

As I was in the Urban Culture having a juice right now, I am just trying to get away from the studio. I just want some alone time to think and you know set my head straight.

That's when Jake walked up to me, and started to hug me.

"Hey hey Cubby! What's up bro?" Jake wanted to know.

"Ah!" I said while trying to get Jake's arm off me.

"What you're saying?" Jake asked.

"Cubby, man what's going on?" Jake asked.

"I lost the dance battle to Ryan.

"What? How? Man, you're the best dancer at the studio." Jake told me.

"Okay, well if I'm the best dancer the studio, than how come I lost to Ryan?" I asked.

Losing that dance battle really killed my confidence cuz everyone says he is the best dancer in the studio but now there's this new guy here that just beat me try.

"Maybe he hypnotised you." Jake though.

"...I don't think." I told him as we both started laughing.

"You know what? I don't think you're ready for this whole dating thing every time you date a girl, you're getting over your head and you just lose confidence." Jake told me.

"Yeah I know what? I'm not going to worry about girls, I'm going to focus on Nationals the teams counting on me." I said.

"Yes! Kill it bro, kill it!" Jake said as we did a fist bump.

That's when Stormy walked over.

"Just remember what I said." Jake told me as he got up and walked away.

"Hey, cam I take a seat?" Stormy asked.

"Yeah sure." I said as Stormy sat down.

"So...why have you been avoiding me?" Stormy wanted to know.

"Here's the thing I...just can't talk about it right now." I told her.

"I'm supposed to be your girlfriend, you can talk about anything. I just don't understand the issue." Stormy began to argue.

"I...this is all confusing, I just I just need to focus on dance right now." I told her.

"A duet is a dance Cubby." Stormy said.

"I need to focus on my dance okay?" I told her as I got up and walked away.

Stormy's POV

I'm kind of insulted in a way by Cubby pressing me off I really wish we could do the duet for Nationals but it doesn't seem like that going to happen now

Izzy's POV

Everyone is warming up in Studio A, as Peter walked in.

"All right dancers have you all decided on what we'd like to audition for?" Peter asked.

"I'd like to audition for the male solo." Jake announced.

"Great, thank you Jake!" Peter exclaimed.

I'm really surprised that Jake wants to be the male soloist.

"Well you know what Peter? I..you know what never mind Peter you got this one Jake.," Finn said.

"Great thank you, Finn anyone else?" Peter asked.

"I want it I want the solo." John said while walking over.

"Great there'll be some competition okay female solo who would like to audition?" Peter wanted to know as the room went silent.

"No." I exclaimed.

I don't really want to the female solo because Jake and I are doing the duet.

"All right well I'll give you some more time to think about it then Izzy can I talk to you in my office please?" Peter asked.

"Sure!" I answered as I followed him into his office.

Owlette's POV

Lisa and I walk into the Urban Cultures to get a drink.

"...bottles and snacks them together." Lisa said.

"Why?" I wanted to know.

"Completely falls down!" Lisa told me.

"Do you want a juice?" I asked.

"Yeah sure. Can we have strawberry, and raspberry juice please?" Lisa wanted to know.

But all of a sudden, we here tut which I then turn around and jumped and saw Princess sitting there. As I saw Princess I'm startled at first because what is this little person doing here? Princess is one of my baby ballet students she's kind of the ring leader of the group.

"Come closer Owlette." Princess said as I crouched down.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I heard you turned Skye down for the duet." Princess told me.

"I think you should sign up for the solo." Princess said.

"But I'm not good enough I can't audition." I said as I had my head down.

"You might not be, but you'll never know until you try." Princess said as I look up back at Lisa.

"You should just be confident and audition for the female solo and if you believe in yourself it'll come through your dancing." Princess told me.

Catboy and I are in the music room talking.

"And he's just rolling down the street." I said.

"Uh-huh." Catboy answered.

"Pops a wheelie." I exclaimed.

"No." Catboy said.

"Okay, yeah!" I exclaimed.

"Hahaha, no!" Catboy said

"No guess what guess what." I started to say.

"No! What is it?" Catboy wanted to know as I started telling him about the story of my uncle and his scooter and he is really loving it so far.

"Yeah?" Catboy exclaimed.

"See it." I told him.

"Okay." Catboy exclaimed.

"I recognize it so I run up to it, hope on it and just goes grocery shopping!" I told him.

"No!" Catboy said.

"Yeah!" I answered.

"You know what? That story is going to be remembered in your family for generations." Catboy told me.

"Yes, I know! It's a legendary!" I said.

"Hey it's so funny." Catboy exclaimed.

"Isn't that insane?" I asked.

"No, it's crazy." I said.

"No it's crazy!" Catboy exclaimed.

"I know like generations." I told him.

"Crazy." Catboy told me.

When catboy agrees that my story is legendary I'm, I'm happy but apparently Bart didn't agree with that at all.

"What?" I asked.

"Okay." Catboy exclaimed.

Peter's POV

Izzy and I were in my office, right now and I am convincing Izzy to audition for the female solo for Nationals.

"Izzy why didn't you audition for female solo?" I asked.

"I don't know I'm just not feeling it right now. I mean, I am going to be doing a duet with Jake and I know we have chemistry." Izzy explained.

"You will help the team so much, doing a song then a duet I'm sure it will be very well represented with duets I need you to do the female song please!" I pleaded.

"...I'll do it" Izzy said.

"Good!" I said as I heard Owlette knocking on the door.

"Yes?" I wanted to know as Owlette came in.

"I think...we'll actually I know that I would really like to audition for the female solo spot at Nationals."

"Great, Owlette I think that's a great idea thank you you're going to have some competition though." I told her as I was pointing to Izzy.

"But I'm not going to go easy on you!" Izzy said to her.

"I wouldn't have it any other way!" Owlette exclaimed as she pulled Izzy in as they walked away and I laughed.

"Thanks ladies!" I thanked them.

"Everyone is warming up for the solo and duet auditions inside Studio A.

"Alright! Have we all decided who's going to audition for duets?" I asked.

These auditions are so important if we don't choose the best duet partners we won't have any chance at Nationals.

"We are!" Lisa exclaimed as she and Marina walked up.

"Great!" I said.

"We are as well." Skye told me.

"Yeah we are!" Finn said.

"Awesome." I exclaimed.

"Um...me and Owlette have a duet..." Bart told me as Owlette ran in and out breathing.

"Duet duet!" We all heard Owlette say.

"Awesome." I told them.

"Izzy and I are going to be doing the duet as well." Jake said.

"We have Izzy and Owlette auditioning for the female solo and John and Jake auditioning for the male solo." I announced.

Owlette's POV

Right now, we're just stretching, warming up and getting ready for the duets and so auditions.

"All right you guys let's do this! Duets auditions! Here we go! Whoo!" Peter said.

Everyone is cheering and clapping. Lisa and Marina goes first. The song they are dancing to is Boombox by Laura Marano.

Next are Skye and Finn. Finn does a flip and his foot slipped and he didn't land it properly.

"The next people were Jake and Izzy, after Jake and Izzy were done it was Bart and Owlette's turn.

You know it's basically a Boombox of love really and in some ways, love can be so crazy and out of control but then in other ways it can kind of just fit together and work.

The duets are over and everyone claps and cheers.

"You guys.. you guys have outdone yourself ho-ly okay well that's it for duets shall we move on to solos?" Peter exclaimed.

"Yes!" Coralie answered.

"We would love to see Miss Owlette." Peter exclaimed as we all clapped and cheered.

The song I was dancing to was Pretty girl Rock.

I began to dance I put a lot of my favorite and best moves in it and it's really who is it would mean to me too get this solo I do feel really nervous going up against Izzy because he's obviously great but..it's good to have some friendly competition.

The next person was John.

"Go John!" Finn cheered.

After John was done, Izzy went up next and we all cheered for her especially Jake.

"Yeah, Izzy!" Jake cheered.

The last person to go up was Jake and we all cheered for him especially Izzy.

Once Jake was finished we all cheered and clapped.

"You guys! I can't believe it. You get better and better every year you're blowing us away we must be good teachers or something I don't know!" Peter said as we all began to laugh.

"Maybe." Coralie exclaimed.

"Anyway, Coralie and I going to go make this very very tough decision we'll be back in a few minutes good job." Peter told us as we all clapped and cheered.

"Hey Bart?" I called his name.

"Yeah?" Bart answered.

"I have to go to rehearsal, with catboy right now." I told him.

"Okay." Bart exclaimed.

"Honestly, I don't really want to rehearse with Catboy but it's something I got to do and I've got to get it done.

Bart's POV

Honestly I have mixed feelings about catboy but he trusts Owlette.

Right now we're all nervously waiting to find out who got the duet and who got the solos.

"Looks like we've made a decision." Peter said.

"All right first we'll start with the boys our male soloist is going to be...Jake." Coralie announced as we all clapped and cheered while Izzy hugged him.

"Now, the female soloist was a very tough choice. Owlette came in a very very close second we're going to give the solo to Izzy." Peter announced as Jake grabbed Izzy and hugged her.

"And the duet will go to Jake and Izzy!" Peter exclaimed as we all clapped.

I am bummed about not getting the duet with Owlette.

But I was happy for Jake and Izzy so I hugged them both.

"Now, we're going to hold auditions for the small group next week good job you guys were amazing." Peter said as we all cheered and clapped.

Now I know that I have to tell my girlfriend Owlette that she did not get the female solo or the duet but at least we have each other.

Owlette's POV

I am just rehearsing my duet with catboy um it's pretty well full out uh you got it down

But then suddenly something unexpected happened, Catboy kissed me on the lips.

Bart's POV

As I walked in, I saw Catboy and Owlette kissing I don't know what...I don't even know what's happening right now I just walk in and they're kissing. I just decided to run away from the music room.

I don't know maybe Owlette, still has feelings for catboy I knew this duet was a bad idea.

"I thought...I she loved me." I exclaimed as I had my hands on my face crying.
