Chapter 1

Aziraphale stood on a large wall watching Adam and Eve leave. Above his head, a phoenix flew in a circle watching what was happening below. Beside him was a very large black snake.

The snake let out a loud hiss as the Phoenix flew down landing next to the snake.

Aziraphale didn't look away from watching the scene from below. "Sorry. What was that?"

The snake transformed into a male demon dressed in a black robe as opposed to Aziraphale's white robes that he wore. His eyes were yellow-gold like his snake form. "I said, Well, that one went down like a lead balloon."

Aziraphale let out a breath through his nose as his eyes slid over to Crowley. "Oh. Yes, it did, rather."

"Bit of an overreaction, if you ask me. First offense and everything. And I can't see what's so bad about knowing the difference between good and evil, anyway."

The phoenix transformed into a female with gray wings and a gray robe. She had long bright red hair and her eyes were bright green. She let out a soft hum cracking her neck as she looked over at Crowley with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"It must BE bad. Otherwise, you wouldn't have tempted them into it." Aziraphale said, looking over at him before looking at the woman. "And you didn't bother stopping him. If you want to be back in the good graces of the angels you would have stopped him."

The woman clicked her tongue against her teeth, rolling her bright green eyes.

Crowley's eyes slid past the woman that stood there as he looked at Aziraphale. "They just said, Get up there and make some trouble. So I did."

"Obviously. You're a demon. It's what you do."

"And I'm a fallen angel… I don't have allegiance with the angels, you know that." The woman said smoothly as she looked down below her lips quirking a bit as she watched the two scared humans run away from the only home that they had ever known.

"Not very subtle of Him, though. Fruit tree in the middle of a garden, with a don't touch sign. If He didn't want them to eat the apples, He could have put it on the moon." Crowley mused as his fingers brushed against the woman's gray wings.

The woman ruffled her feathers a bit as she looked over at Crowley.

"Best not to speculate. It's all part of the ineffable plan. I don't like the look of that weather."

A low rumble of thunder was on the horizon.

The woman let out a soft hum as she looked up at the weather that was brewing on the horizon that would probably cause disaster in its wake.

"Didn't you have a flaming sword?" Crowley questioned as he looked over at the Angel.

"Er…"

Crowley's lips quirked as he saw the flabbergasted look on Angel's face. "You did. It was flaming like anything. What happened to it?"

"Er…"

The woman let out a soft cackle as she put her hands behind her back. Her eyes slid over to Aziraphale. "Lost it, have you?" She mused softly letting out another cackle of pure joy knowing that the Angels never misplaced things. It was unheard of. Perhaps he was the worst angel that she had ever heard of.

"I gave it away," Aziraphale muttered almost inaudibly.

"You what?" The demon and fallen angel questioned looking at Aziraphale like he had done and lost his mind. Giving away such a weapon.

"I gave it away. They looked so miserable. And there are vicious animals, and it's going to be cold out there, and she's expecting already, and I said, here you go, flaming sword, don't thank me, and don't let the sun go down on you here... I do hope I didn't do the wrong thing."

Crowley let out a scoff rolling his eyes. "You're an angel. How can you do the wrong thing?"

"It's been bothering me." Aziraphale winced as he watched Adam use the sword on some poor lion.

"I've been worrying too. What if I did the right thing, with the whole eat-the-apple business? A demon can get into a lot of trouble for doing the right thing. Funny if we both got it wrong, eh?"

"Even more funny if the three of us got it wrong." The woman mused softly as her wings shifted slightly as she watched below.

"Not really. Not funny at all." Aziraphale said with a shake of his head.

"That sword won't last long in that weather brewing out there. I won't doubt that those two will survive the night." The woman said before she began to shift into her bird form. She looked at Crowley with a tilt of her head before flying up into the air letting out a loud screech of goodbye before she flew away.

Crowley let out a laugh shaking his head lightly. At the time of knowing her, he had to admit that she was certainly someone that he was going to want to keep in his life and wouldn't force her out. He knew that he was going to have to find her again and see exactly how much hell they could raise together.

Aziraphale let out a breath shaking his head lightly knowing that this was going to be troublesome if Crowley and Phoenix would get together.
