All over the Galar region more and more Pokémon have begun Dynamaxing more rapidly and causing destruction everywhere in their path and of course the news was on it to report this madness "THIS HAS BECOME A REAL PROBLEM, REPORTS OF RAMPING DYNAMAX POKEMON ARE MULTIPLY AND TO TOP IT OFF A HUGE UNKNOWN Pokémon IS CURRENTLY ATTACKING HAMMERLOCKE STADIUM, IS THE SECOND COMING OF THE LEGENDARY DISATER". Leon and Charizard make their way to the top of the stadium to capture Eternatus and when they reach the top they come face to face with it "Eternatus" Leon said a little overwhelmed but he was ready to take this battle up a notch "Charizard return" he puts Charizard back into its poke ball activates the Dynamax Band "time for some Gigantamaxing" the poke ball begins to glow and expand however Eternatus begins to absorb the Galar particles and returns the poke ball back to its original size "wait what" he said baffled by what happened, Eternatus used the particles to charge up another laser and at Leon but thankfully he got out the way but the laser was so strong that it broke through the building causing rubble to fall and making the helicopter retreat. Leon then observed Eternatus absorbing all the Galar particles and was confused by why it was doing this, what's it about to do that requires the particles "what's going on".
On the battlefield the particles were also rising up through the floor and to the roof as Eternatus absorbed them and then Rose began explaining what it was doing "observe, Eternatus is drawing in Galar particles in preparation for its wonderful final form and soon I'll get to see the ultimate Pokémon as it yields unlimited energy" he began to chuckle manically but Ash was confident Leon could handle it "Leon will stop it before it can do that".
Pikachu, Charizard, Hawlucha and Donphan then started to attack Ferrothorn and Copperajah, they charged in using Iron Tail, Steel Wing, Karate Chop and Rollout but Ferrothorn used Iron Defence to block all their attacks at once and then Copperajah used Heavy Slam to try and divide them all. Hawlucha tried to attack Copperajah with High Jump Kick but Ferrothorn used Power Whip to get rid of him and Copperajah took the chance to use another Heavy Slam but Donphan got in and got Hawlucha out of there. Ash released the strategy being used of Ferrothorn using defensive and Copperajah using offense so he devised a plan to split them up, Pikachu and Hawlucha worked together in attacking Ferrothorn while Donphan and Charizard worked together in attacking Copperajah, the main goal was to prevent the two from working together. This even made Chairman Rose impressed by Ash's strategy and quick thinking.
Back at the bottom of the stadium in the hall Hop and Wooloo were about to face off against Oleana and Milotic. Hop confidently says "all right let's do this" Wooloo attacks with Double Kick but Milotic knocks it back with Water Pulse, Wooloo tried to use Dazzling Gleam however Milotic countered it again with Water Pulse knocking Wooloo back but he was okay. Oleana was very unamused by this battle and found it pathetic "give it up I'm quite surprised at you, thinking you could stop Eternatus at your low level" Hop was confused by the name but figured she was talking about the legend "Eternatus you mean the Darkest Day" Olean the explains the rest "that's right Eternatus is the result of Chairman Rose's dream and I must see that dream become reality, so do us all a favour and give up".
At the top of the tower Leon and Charizard were facing off against Eternatus so Charizard attacks with Dragon Claw but Eternatus dodges this and slams Charizard with it's tail onto the ground, Leon then becomes worried as Charizard struggles to get up "CHARIZARD NO", As Charizard tries to get up it becomes angry at Eternatus.
On the battlefield Ferrothorn and Copperajah both used Power Whip to get ride of everyone, Pikachu and Hawlucha barely dodge Ferrothorn's tendrils while Charizard and Donphan try running away from Copperajah's trunk. It seemed Ash was about to lose however Charizard lure Copperajah over and made Donphan use rollout on it's foot to trip it up while Pikachu distracted Ferrothorn and Hawlucha used Karate Chop on it's back while it wasn't looking, both of Rose's Pokémon end up getting hurled into each other which confuses him "huh was that on purpose" Ash then praised everyone "good job you guys".
Back with Hop he was still battling Oleana in which Wooloo attempts to use Tackle but Milotic blocks with another Water Pulse, knocking Wooloo back once again. None of Wooloo's attacks were working and Defence Curl wouldn't help them win "Hop this isn't working we can't even land a…" Hop saw as Wooloo was standing it's ground and thought "wait maybe Defence Curl can help us", Milotic fires another Water Pulse but Wooloo stood it's ground with Defence Curl and didn't budge however she commented "it's over let's wrap this up, right now" this time Milotic attempts to use Aqua Tail.
Back with Leon, Eternatus charged up another laser while Charizard was down "void the attack Charizard" he ordered to get Charizard out of there, luckily Charizard manged to escape it however the laser then blasted straight down through the floor. It blasted it's way down to the battlefield where Ash was about to deal another blow "alright Pikachu use Thunderbolt…" he got cut off after the laser blasted down causing him and his Pokémon to get hurled back. Outside Sonia and Raihan witness the stadium shake in which Raihan asked "what's that" but Sonia knew and said, "it can't be". The laser continued fire and was even causing dust and small rubble to break off the ceiling on the ground floor, Olean asks, "what was that" Hop then realised things were getting worse, back on the top Charizard got Leon into the skies to avoid being obliterated by the laser and Leon became frustrated as he has never taken on such a powerful Pokémon.
As Ash and Pikachu get up Ash realises he needs to get up there and help Leon "We've gotta stop, Pikachu can you go on" Pikachu is too weak from the attack to get up giving Rose the chance to end things here "you're stuck here" Copperajah and Ferrothorn use Power Whip again but before they could reach the two Donphan, Charizard and Hawlucha get in front of Ash and hold them back. Ash tells them to stop as he doesn't want them to get hurt even more "GUYS GET OUT OF THERE" however they don't budge and hold their ground. Charizard then struck with Dragon Tail, Hawlucha used Z-Scissors and Donphan used Hyper Beam to knock them all away and to knock them all out, Ash was so happy with this he congratulated them all "you did it you guys" they go to hug him while Chairman Rose becomes stunned as he lost and goes to check on his Pokémon "Copperajah Ferrothorn are you alright".
With Hop he tries to think the perfect way to defeat Milotic "think Hop you've gotta think we find a way to win using Defence Curl" until it hit him he had found the perfect strategy to win. Wooloo runs in but as Milotic attacks with Aqua Tail it uses Defence Curl and remains where it is and then suddenly Wooloo starts glowing blue and starts changing in size and even growing two horns, Hop was surprised to see this "NO WAY" he said as he knew Wooloo was evolving and when it stopped it had become bigger and more menacingly "awesome you evolved into Dubwool" Dubwool nods but Oleana comments "it doesn't matter if it evolves you're still not getting to Eternatus" Milotic uses Water Pulse however Dubwool then uses a new move it learned Takedown and charges through the water blast and directly hitting Milotic knocking it out. As it faints Olean is baffled by the lost "no…no way" Hop then goes to commemorate Dubwool "Dubwool you were amazing" they nuzzle each other but then get back on task "okay Ash, here we come".
Outside Sonia and Raihan continue to battle the agents in which Duraludon used Breaking Swipe and Corviknight used Brave Bird and knocked away the all the agents' Pokémon, having no other choice the agents returned their Pokémon and were forced to retreat "you'll be sorry" one said as he ran away. "Thank you so very much" Sonia thanked Raihan and he responded, "think nothing of it but now as much as I'd like to ask you out, there are Pokémon rampaging and a Trainer of my skill can't just let them run loose so next time lovely lady, let's go, Duraludon" Raihan and Duraludon take off, Sonia looks to the top of the tower and releases the job isn't over yet "the Darkest Day".
Ash and his Pokémon reach the top of the tower and see Leon taking on Eternatus, his Charizard uses Air Slash at Eternatus' mouth which does seem to cause some damage and Leon tells it "THAT'S IT AIM YOUR ATTACKS INTO IT'S MOUTH" Ash runs ups and is impressed by how strong Charizard is "way to go Charizard's pushing hard" Leon then becomes surprised to see Ash "Ash…that has to mean that you beat Chairman Rose right" and Ash replies "sure did". Just then Hop and Dubwool come running up too "Leon Ash I made it" Hop says, Leon then becomes surprised to see hop as well "Hop what are you doing here and did Wooloo evolve" Hop happily answers "me and Sonia came to help and yes it did" Ash gets his phone out and checks Dubwool in the Pokedex "Dubwool the Sheep Pokémon: a Normal Type, Weave a carpet from its springy wool, and you end up with something closer to a trampoline then you'll start to bounce the moment you set foot on it, it's large horns are also meant to impress the opposite gender".
Hop then gazed into the sky to get a look at Eternatus "so that's Eternatus huh" Hop states and Leon adds on "formally known as The Darkest Day but the time for introductions is over Let's have a champion time, ALL RIGHT CHARIZARD AIR SLASH" Charizard launched hundreds of Air Slash's at Eternatus' head damaging it so bad it started to fall, Leon then pulls out an Ultra Ball "next up I'LL CATCH IT" he hurls the Ultra Ball at Eternatus and it then gets absorbed into it "wow" Ash says "I knew you'd do it" Hop also says but Leon had them keep their distance "STAND BACK WE'RE NOT OUT OF THE WOODS YET". The Ultra Ball just sat there on the floor and didn't move what so ever until it started to crack and explode open releasing a humungous red light and then Eternatus broke out and the shockwave so strong that it pushed everyone back, Leon got tried to shield Hop and Ash from the explosion while both Charizards tried shielding the other Pokémon from the explosion as well. Everyone was pretty bruised up from the explosion but Leon and the Charizards took the most damage so him and Ash returned all their Pokémon back into the poke balls to recover, as they did Eternatus flew into the sky and changed into it's form to reveal it had become a giant swirl made of purple shells with a huge glowing red hand.
Leon lay badly injured on the ground while Ash and Hop were almost in terror of seeing Eternatus' new form and Ash states "Eternatus has gotten a whole lot bigger than it was before", Leon suggests "could it be Eternatus' ultimate final form" and Hop says "it's like the picture at Turfield, this is the Darkest Day" Pikachu and Wooloo gasp at such a sight. As Leon almost collapses he tells the boys "you two need to run and get as far away as you can" as he does Collapse Hop gets worried "BIG BRO".
Near the stadium in a helicopter Chairman Rose and Olean witness what's going on and Rose could not be happier "STUPENDOUS EXECELLENT" Oleana however was trying to comprehend what was happening "what in the world am I even looking at". But Chairman Rose had gone completely mad and now wanted to see the real power of Eternatus "Now Eternatus show me your unlimited power".
Ash and Hop stare at Eternatus and take matters into their hands "Looks like we're gonna have to stop it" Ash says "right" Hop then agrees, Pikachu attacks it with Thunderbolt while Dubwool attacks using Dazzling Gleam but despite their efforts it didn't do anything against Eternatus. "It didn't do a thing" Hop said but Ash was still determined they could do this "one more time" Pikachu and Dubwool tried attacking again but again it do anything and Eternatus grew angry and fired a laser at them, the impact so strong that it knocked out the Pokémon and hurled Hop against the wall and make the relic Sword and Shield fall out his bag while it almost blow Ash off the roof. Hop sounded like he was about to give up "it's…it's got so much destructive power…" they notice the relics start to glow and pick them up "weren't they glowing wait what is this thing" Ash said while holding the sword and Hop explained "we found these in the Slumbering Weald" Ash then thought that maybe
"could they be…the legendary sword and shield". Soon enough Sonia arrives to the top of the tower riding Corvinkinght and then puts it back into it's poke ball, but then she sees Leon in pain and runs to him "LEON" she exclaims "Sonia" he weakly says.
Eternatus charges up another laser again "here it comes" Ash says and then it drops down making yet another explosion "HOP ASH NO" Sonia shouts however they manage to avoid the attack but then Hop's shield begins to glow red "it's glowing again" he says confused and Ash's sword also begins to glow blue, realising the power Hop knows what they have to do "get ready all we can do now is become the legends ourselves" and Ash agrees "guess you're right" they hold their weapons high and shout in unison "COME ON ETERNATUS". Worried about them Leon tries but struggles to get up "I've got to help…" however Sonia couldn't let him get more hurt than he already is "no don't do this to yourself", Hop holds his shield and says "for Galar's people and Pokémon" and Ash continues "we'll stop you right here"
All the way in the Slumbering Wield on a small island in the middle of the lake at the shrine, two lights a red and blue begin forming and like shooting stars they rocket into the sky, as Eternatus was about to obliterate the boys the lights get in front and protect them from the laser. The Laser's light was too bright making the boys shield their eyes but the weapons they possessed floated away to whatever just saved them, when the lights stop glowing it's revealed that they were really the Pokémon they had seen earlier holding the Sword and Shield and Ash states, "hold on aren't those two…" Hop continues "Zamazenta Zacian". The two Pokémon starred Eternatus without fear but then started to change form themselves Zacian grew golden wings, a gold helmet crown and the sword it was holding turned into a long golden sword, Zamazenta's main grew longer and the fur around it's face transformed itself to look like a golden shield. The boys were so happy about this "I can't believe they changed" Hop says and Ash retorts "I think they're gonna battle with us", overwhelming Sonia explains "the sword and shield the two legendary heroes used, they weren't objects they were actually Pokémon" Pikachu and Dubwool get up ready to stand and fight alongside them.
As they're about to fight Ash claims, "all right we'll all do this we're taking Eternatus down" Zacian glows blue and makes it's sword bigger and begins slashing Eternatus while Zamazenta folds it's shield flaps straight and glows red then it charges straight at Eternatus making a huge explosion. Eternatus was actually beginning to lose and Ash excitedly says, "It's taking damage".
Meanwhile in the helicopter Chairman Rose was getting worried and scared that Eternatus would be defeated "Will you shape up Eternatus you're the future of the Galar region", Eternatus was truly getting angry and frustrated with everyone around it so it violently rained down a bunch of lasers one of which hit the helicopter making it perform an emergency landing. All over Hammerlocke Stadium it fired lasers to try and protect itself but it wasn't going to stop everyone from trying to defeat it.
As the battle was really getting heated up a bunch of Galar Particles started dispersing from Eternatus in which Ash's Dynamax band begins to activate "hey it's glowing does that mean" he asks and sees Pikachu look at him, Leon then tells him "hurry Ash could be our chance to defeat" Ash also sees Zacian and Zamazenta look back at him and nod their heads. Ash the knew what to do "ALL RIGHT PIKACHU LET'S DO THIS" Pikachu confidently agrees and then jumps into Ash's arms in which he hurls him like a poke ball "LET'S GO BIG ANF GIGANTAMAX" Pikachu then starts growing really huge and gets chubbier along with it's tail getting longer and then it finally Gigantamaxed, everyone was excited by this in which Hop informs "Ash now is your chance" and Ash understands what to do next "GOT IT ALRIGHT PIKACHU USE G-MAX VOLT CRASH" Pikachu let off an enormous amount of electricity into the sky and then it comes crashing down right onto of Eternatus causing so much damage to him. Pikachu then immediately turned back into it's normal size but Eternatus was still standing but was incredibly damaged so Zacian and Zamazenta decided to finish it off once and for all by charging head first straight at Eternatus and making two really huge blue and red explosions of light.
Eternatus was so badly damaged it came crashing down on top of the roof "WE DID IT" Hop says excitedly while Ash then questions while pulling out a poke ball "hey do think it's possible that…" the poke ball started glowing and slowly started to grow huge like in a Dynamax battle, Ash was then struggling to hold it up "ah it's heavy" but Hop helped "don't worry I got it" he grabbed it from the other side and the two of them prepared to launch it "ready okay one two three…Poké Ball go" they at the same time and hurl it at Eternatus' finger and then the giant Pokémon gets absorbed one more time. The giant poke ball sat there and shook a few times while everyone was looking in suspense but soon enough it grew small again and a three stars came out, then Ash's phone chimes so he goes to check and it says "Eternatus has been registered to your Pokedex", both Hop and Ash looked surprised at each other like they couldn't belive what they had done and rejoice in happiness "ALL RIGHT" their Pokémon do the same too.
They then notice Zacian and Zamazenta taking off into the sky and as they do the clouds clear up revealing the moonlit night sky and all over the Galar region the giant rampaging Pokémon turned back to normal. Ash states, "the black cloud" and Hop continues "gone just like the legend said…" they gasp as they witness the relic sword and shield glow and slowly descend back towards them Leon then goes over to congratulate them "Leon you're okay" Hop happily says knowing his brother is okay and he also tells them "Galar has been saved thanks to all of you" and Sonia comments "you were just amazing incredible" and Leon tells them "I think you're the new legendary heroes". Despite earning an amazing title Ash and Hop stayed humble and stated who the true heroes are "not a chance but we do know who they are" Hop states "they're Zacian and Zamazenta" everyone then giggles, however Ash went over to pick up the poke ball and questioned what to do now "so what happens to Eternatus now, I may have caught it but even I don't think I can handle it" Leon then takes the poke ball "don't worry Ash we'll take Eternatus off your hands" Sonia then said "and maybe one day it'll calm down and recognise you as it's trainer".
After the entire ordeal Sonia headed back to Wedgehurst to inform Professor Magnolia about everything that happened "Sounds like it was quite an ordeal" but she asks about Rose "any word of Chairman Rose's location" unfortunately though Sonia had bad news about that "afraid not though I know Leon's out there searching high and low but what about Eternatus" the Professor then tells "well it was kind of Ash for giving it to us but for the moment it maybe dormant it's safely placed in an underground location but there's no guarantee it won't wake up, so we must research countermeasures before that happens in which I expect a lot from you Professor Sonia" Sonia stands tall and proud wearing a lab coat and says "right as far as making sure my lab coat stays clean and white I'll do my best".
At the shrine in the Slumbering Wield Ash and Hop return the old sword and shield back to where they belong "thanks so much Zacian let's have a battle someday" Ash says "and Zamazenta someday I'm gonna catch you just wait" Hop says. Soon enough Ash and Hop lock hands promising to meet up again soon and hopefully not go through another crazy adventure, then they go their separate ways again, so as they leave Zacian and Zamazenta watch over them without them knowing.
Having overcome danger that inspired a legend our heroes have grown just a little bit more but the next adventure awaits, as the journey continues.
