Questioning by Atlas' Sapphire Duo
Weiss is freaking out at the moment, never in her life would she find herself being held behind the shadow of the bars right on her face and she along with her friends were taken by two of the elite of the elite Atlas military.
"This is it… My life is officially over." Weiss feared with face covered by her hands.
"Don't worry, Weiss. It's not that bad." Rex tried to comfort the snow hair girl.
"Yeah, it's not like we're in serious trouble or anything." Sun added, trying to help lighten the mood.
"You say that because none of you know how deep in trouble, we are the moment those two stepped in. Now we're in jail!" Weiss stated.
"Huh, Weiss? We're not even in the cells, we're just outside the office of those ladies who took us into their Atlas ship." Ruby pointed out as the scene shows both teams with Sun, Neptune, and Kasandra.
"We might as well be thrown in jail right now." Weiss exclaimed.
"Sheesh, are those two really that serious and big back in Atlas?" Yang asked.
"It's no joke, Yang. Even I heard about them before I left the White Fang, they hold one of the best records of keeping law and order within Atlas and even catching the bad guys." Blake mentioned.
"But I'm sure they'll let us go if we just explain things to them." Pyra hoped.
"Yeah, let's explain to them how several unprofessional and still in training Hunters went out now by curfew trying to seek information about the bad guys who are trying to do something dangerous in Vale when we had no permission to do so." Mythra listed the things they're gonna be in trouble for, in a sarcastic tone.
"You don't need to be sarcastic about it." Pyra said.
"That would also mean we'll be in trouble with Headmaster Ozpin and General Ironwood. Man, I am not liking our odds." Neptune shook his head.
"We can't give up yet! It's like Pyra said, we just need to explain things to them without exactly revealing a few details like Blake being a former member of the White Fang." Ruby suggested.
"No, I think we should just come clean about our mission." Rex said.
"What? Are you crazy?" Nia asked shock.
"I know it's crazy and that we might get in trouble for it, but as we are now there's no point in hiding this if those two already caught us in the scene. My grandpa always told me that being honest can help make yourself feel better." Rex pointed out.
"Wow, that sounds so wise." Weiss surprised.
"Thanks." Rex smiled.
"Great, so does that mean you'll be the one to talk to those tough chicks?" Yang asked.
"If it means getting them to understand the full story, then sure." Rex nodded.
"Glad you feel that way because it's time to do the talking." Brighid walked out from the office.
"Does that mean she's ready to see me?" Rex asked as he stood up.
"Yes. In fact, she wishes to see all of you in her office." Brighid said shocking everybody.
"Oh wonderful, now I know we're going to jail." Weiss placed her face in her hands.
"Just come in and we will talk about your punishment." Brighid said gesturing to the kids to come inside.
Rex went in first then Ruby and Pyra followed by everyone else to meet Brighid's partner inside, and she is looking very scary with those narrow dark glares that would send shivers down any man's spine though Rex looks calm.
"Hello ma'am, sorry if we're taking up your busy time." Rex apologized.
"Quite the polite boy, you are. Not a lot of people would do that, mostly they would just be quiet like they were about to wet themselves." The intense woman said.
"My grandpa raised me to have some manners like being nice to the new people you meet." Rex explained.
"Is that right?" The woman raised an eyebrow curiously.
"My name is Rex Titan and I'll be talking on behalf of my friends." Rex introduced himself.
"A pleasure, my name is Mòrag Ladair, Special Inquisitor and I hope you will answer my question the best you can." Mòrag revealed her name with a slightly firm name.
Mòrag is a young woman with long black hair tied with two bangs on each side and a third long one between her eyes, brown eyes, and fair skin. She has an average body build. Mòrag wears a dark blue and white military uniform with white gloves. It has a half-cape and a hat with a gold visor with the Atlas crest upon it, signaling her position as Special Inquisitor. She wears gold armor on her shoulder, hips, knees and feet. Breasts size: C-cup.
"Special Inquisitor, don't think I heard of a military rank like that." Rex said.
"That's because you don't pay much attention in your pay, and you're not from Atlas either." Morag said.
"Now, why don't we start with the latest incident." Morag suggested for the start of the conversation.
"Sounds fair." Rex nodded as he sat down in a chair.
"So, how did you and your little band of kiddy size Hunters into trying to investigation the White Fang and Roman Torchwick?" Morag asked the first question.
"It started with our friend Blake being more concerned about the White Fang and Weiss shared some bad memories about the Faunus, the two argued then Blake ran away with Nia following her." Rex started.
Blake and Weiss look at each other for a moment as they also remember that moment days ago, not their brightest moments but they were able to make up and become a little closer as friends.
"Oh yes, it would be a logic response for the daughter of Ghira Belladonna to find the recent behavior of the White Fang to be unacceptable." Morag nodded.
"Wait, you know my father?" Blake asked shock.
"Yes, we actually met him that one time Morag was finally convinced to take a week of vacation time from work. And let tell you, it was very hard because how she likes to stick herself to work like fly stuck to glue paper." Brighid explained.
"You didn't have to make it sound like I'm crazy or anything." Morag said with a tick on her head.
"Anyway, it was only last year some time after the start of the school year and the man is very nice with a respectful authority and a gentle soul. Along with some fierce fangs." Morag complimented about Ghira.
"But he was also saddened that the White Fang has become and very worried for one of his daughters." Brighid mentioned.
"Just like how you are." Nia tapped her elbow on Blake's arm, making her black twin chuckle.
"So, back to your story. After Blake and Nia Belladonna ran away." Morag said to continue the story.
"Right, we were all worried about them when they didn't come back through the weekend, and we try to look all over the city. I even thought about using a fish for each of them to lure them out of wherever they were hiding." Rex explained that part.
"Did he really try to do that?" Nia asked her team.
"Yup, it was really a stupid idea." Mythra said bluntly which made Rex flinch.
"Come on now, Rex may not be the brightest boy we've met, but his heart is always in the right place." Pyra stated, even though it hurt his feelings a tiny bit more.
"A-Anyway, we managed to find them thanks to Sun texting me about the warehouse that was about to be robbed by the White Fang and surprised they're working with Roman of all people." Rex mentioned.
"So, the rumors we heard about the White Fang starting to work with a few humans are true." Brighid said.
"And with Roman being one of those humans." Morag added.
"You mean Roman is not the only one?" Yang asked.
"That's right, and as some of you know that Roman has been stealing dusts and other weapons for these past months without stealing any of the money and such. That is never Roman style to steal." Morag explained.
"Which means that someone hired Roman to work with the White Fangs to steal all of that stuff!" Kasandra realized.
"That's most likely the case, and this person must have some intention for war." Morag theorized.
"But what good would that do? All the White Fang ever wanted was to be treated as equals for all the other Faunus and peace with the humans!" Blake stated in a worried expression.
"For some Faunus, but not all of them will let go of the hate that easily." Morag pointed out.
"That doesn't mean we shouldn't stop trying." Blake glared.
"Tell that to your father who gave up on the White Fang when he stepped down." Morag said.
"Okay, do you want a piece of us, lady!" Nia angered while Rex and Mythra held her back and Blake just looks a little angrier.
"Easy, Morag was just testing you to see if you still care for your father and you certainly gave your own answers." Brighid revealed.
"That was a bit harsh, but I guess we all have our ways of seeing if one can be trustworthy with your instincts." Rex said.
"Wise words for someone so young." Morag commented, impressed with this boy a little.
"I learned them from my grandpa." Rex said, then remember the talk they were having.
"So, after the warehouse incident, everything seems to have gone back to normal only Blake was still troubled by Roman and the White Fang working together and really wanted to find out what their plans are and hopefully put a stop to them before it could happen which is what we were doing today." Rex mentioned.
"Then you cause some disturbances in the streets with cars flying and crashing with civilians getting hurt in the process, and you also failed to check on the people you've sworn to protect to see if they're alright." Morag glared intensely serious at the trainees.
"But we were chasing the bad guys!" Ruby pointed out.
"That may be true, chasing down the criminals who would cause harm to others is something any Hunters would do…" Morag paused for a second.
"However, what you idiot children fail to remember the importance of being a Huntsmen and Huntresses is to protect the lives of Remnant and their safety must always come first even during a mission no matter what. And you all fail to do just that." Morag scolded harshly.
Hearing that now, the young Hunter trainees started to see how Morag put it out as they could have checked the people who got hurt from the rampaging mech and could have helped them more than leaving off to fight the bad guys. Now they feel really bad about it.
"I can't believe I'm going to say this out loud… But we really fuck up." Ruby admitted.
"I already feel bad enough about potential going to jail, but now I have disgraced myself!" Neptune sighed.
"Not to worry, I won't let her send you to jail since I know my way around this pretty little flower." Brighid teased Morag with a little scratch behind the ear making her blush.
"Will you stop doing that! I thought we agree to leave out the loving stuff when we're working like interrogating the kids about Roman and the White Fangs!" Morag grunted with her blushing cheeks and slammed a fist onto a desk.
And that desk ends up breaking up in half.
"How odd, this desk was a lot sturdier than when I last check on it." Morag surprised as she looks at her fist, not remembering putting that much strength.
"Oops, guess you got an unlucky moment." Kasandra chuckled.
"Is that right?" Morag raised an eyebrow.
"Like I said, I'll be sure Morag doesn't throw the book at you." Brighid said.
"Oh, it looks like the strict woman has a soft side." Yang whispered to Blake.
But it looks like Morag heard that and look at the blonde brawler with a deadly glare that made Yang feel shaking in her boots and nervous.
"I guess we still got a long way to go about being a Hunter, sorry that we disappointed out." Rex apologized again.
"Again with the apologizing. There's no need, the Atlas soldiers have already checked on the people right after you pushed the mech off the road and everyone is fine with just a few bruises." Brighid informed making the kids feel good about it.
"Still, you did point out something we need to work on, and I'll be sure to remember it." Rex promised.
"Well, as long as you remember all that then I guess there's no need to scold you anymore." Morag said.
"Then you've saw how close we were in capturing Roman in that moment, only for that little assistant of his to help him escape." Mythra mentioned.
"We saw and we also know that woman too." Brighid pulled up a holographic picture of Neo.
"Her name is Neopolitan, also Neo for short. We don't really know much about her except that she was definitely born in the Vale kingdom and teamed up with Roman to commit crimes together. Her Semblance is Overactive Imagination which grants her the ability to create physical illusions that can be seen by everyone." Brighid explained about Neo.
"She certainly got us good with that one." Nia said.
"How were they able to steal your tech like that mech?" Nia asked.
"We're not sure ourselves. The security system is top notch and very hard to get in that not even a fly could get in without setting off the alarm." Brighid explained.
"And yet they were able to gain access to where mech was, almost like they had help from someone with very high skills in tech and computers." Morag sat down on her chair.
"Like a spy in the ranks?" Pyra guessed.
"Maybe, I'll need to do some investigation on this once I make my report to General Ironwood." Morag said.
"In the meantime, you kids just continue with your training and your other daily things." Morag ordered.
"Hold on, you can't just kick us off the case. This is too important to let go." Blake marched forward a little.
"Why? Do you honestly believe you can solve this case wide open even if this doesn't involve you anymore." Morag asked.
"It has everything to do with me! I was with the White Fang for the longest time I can remember, and I thought we were doing the right thing until I saw how wrong they were doing." Blake said.
"And you left, not wanting to use your skills to make the Faunus be feared by the humans." Brighid guessed that part.
"Yeah, I thought I was doing the right thing but all I was doing was running away like a coward!" Blake clutched her fists.
"But now you want to stop the White Fang. Do you truly believe you can do something like that?" Brighid asked.
"Someone has too!" Blake yelled.
"I still believe in the Faunus and Humans co-existing, living in peace and working together to fight off the Grimm, but we can't have that as long as the White Fang is still walking down this dark path! Which is why I have to stop them, I'm the only one who can"
But Blake's words were interrupted when Brighid unexpectedly slapped so hard on the cat girl's face that it echoes softly in the office, this shocked Rex and the others as they didn't see that coming.
"Don't you dare go on saying that you have to anything alone, such thinking will get you killed!" Brighid scolded.
"Do not believe that all of this is your responsibility just because it started with your father. No matter how much you try to do, you'll never be able to put a dent in them alone and you'll end up dead before you could do anything." Brighid pointed out.
"And you have also forgotten the important thing that you're not alone here!" Brighid gestured to Rex.
"You have wonderful friends who will always have your back, but if you keep trying to force your way like this then you'll only hurt them more than you realize." Brighid pulled Blake into a gentle hug.
"Take it slow and let your body rest for a while, it's good to let your mind be calm to help you find a situation." Brighid said.
"Okay." Blake said, returning the hug. Nia is surprise to see this, but also relief to know that Blake is gonna be calm about it.
"Wow, she calms her down just like that." Rex amazed.
"She has that affect on people." Morag nodded.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Rex and the others have gone talking with the serious Morag and the calm flaming Brighid about what they have been doing, and it looks like Brighid had even done some talking with Blake to make sure she doesn't push herself too hard like in the anime.
