Chapter LXX: Metallic Last Rights.

"Well, well, if it isn't the world's finest ingrate. We haven't met, so allow me to introduce myself. My name is Juan Cordero… But you can call me Metallo!"

Star City, November 11, 12:44 PST

Lian and Paula walked in to check on the others as Lian went to be between her aunt and her friend remembering a story he'd tell when he was babysitting for the heroes. "C'mon, grandma! We have to say hello!"

"There's no hurry, Lian… They won't be able to say hello back."

"That's OK," Lian replied. "They just need to know they're not alone."

(Flashback.)

Perdita and Arrow's celebration is cut short by the arrival of Count Vertigo, who disables them with Vertigo waves and prepares to kill them even as he claims to have arrived to protect his niece only to arrive too late. He is stopped and knocked out by a Canary Cry.

(Flashback End.)

Lian put her hand on Dinah's before Paula walked over.

Outside LexCorp Robotics, the Outsiders' Mongoose Squad continues to fight the Lex-Bots.

Inside, The others are fighting Onslaught before Shimmer melts Star Girls staff. "NO! My staff!"

"Feelin' pretty powerless, li'l Wondy?" Devastation asked Wonder Girl as she put her in a headlock. "Not only have you failed to save the Queen… But now you're forced to watch li'l Supy bite the bright green one!"

She finished as they saw Metallo holding Superboy with an unconscious Match beside them. "I can't tell you how satisfying this feels," Metallo said with a grin. "Though I have to admit, I thought the boss' plan was needlessly complicated… Kidnapping the Queen… Putting all those people in temporary comas. But of course, Mr. Luthor was right, as usual. As always."

"I've really come to trust him implicitly, you know? I mean, when I found out I was a meta-human with self-healing abilities I figured everyone would treat me like a total freak. But not Lex. He's been so good to me, to my whole family, really. Found a terrific job for my mom at LexCorp. Got my sisters into the best schools… And never asked for one thing in return."

"So I asked him. But asking for help… Even sympathy… Hadn't gone well for Lex in the past. He told me how he'd reached out to both you and Superman for the sake of your brother… Only for both of you to reject Match. Not enough of a family resemblance I guess. You probably rejected Lex for the same reason. Even though he's your father!"

"You ungrateful little jerk! I wish I had a father like Lex Luthor! But not you. No. You wouldn't even exist without Lex. But that didn't stop you from betraying him… From twisting the truth in front of the entire world! So I volunteered to be the son you failed to be… To do whatever it took to serve, and avenge Lex Luthor! The surgeries that followed… Well, they weren't fun or pretty, I'll tell you that."

"But I was a man on a mission, so I suffered through it all, and gladly. The result was this: A metal body to equal the Boy of Steel's All it required was a power source. And Lex found me that, too. Now, powered by Kryptonite, I can end you once and for all!"

Outside, while the Outsiders continue to battle the never-ending stream of robots, and Blue Beetle and his Scarab hotly debate strategy, Miss Martian under camouflage sneaks from Baby into the building. 'Wow. Half the Greater Bialyan Army is here… But I'm locked onto Perdita's mind signature. And hers isn't the only one I recognized.' She thought while phasing through a room to see Psimon standing behind Perdita who was staring into nothing. 'Psimon has her in his thrall.'

She got close and blocked his mind as a purple Boom Tube appeared.

BOOM!

And the Alpha Squad of Red Arrow, Arsenal, Halo, Arrowette, and Black Bat appeared. "That was a foolish error, Martian."

"Don't pretend you can overpower me, Psimon." Miss Martian said to him as he stood.

"I wouldn't dare. But your noisy little Boom Tube is bound to attract an audience…."

"Um, he isn't kidding," Arrowette said through the link hearing a noise outside.

Only for the Martian to grin as the noise stopped and Kage appeared inside. "Should have dropped my kunai earlier and it would have been quieter. Work on helping the Queen." Naruto dashed over and punched Psimon in the nose, knocking him out before turning to sprint to do it again to Vertigo who opened the door grabbed Queen Bee by the throat, and lifted her up.

"Don't try your pheromones on the others, garlic in the noses. Now why kidnap my future sister-in-law?"

Queen Bee grabbed at his hand before he slightly let go and explained how Vertigo's liberation had merely been a front to cover the real reason for Perdita's abduction, with anyone with clues to the truth placed in temporary comas, buying enough time for the Kryptonite Perdita had been carrying to be implanted into Metallo before the ruse was uncovered.

His freedom, she explains, came with an opportunity to lead an uprising in Vlatava, taking advantage of the Markovian border crisis, starting with the assassination of Queen Perdita by a rogue Meta-human. "Thanks. And don't mess with Perdita again."

Naruto brought his elbow up to knock her out and tied everyone up before leaving with Perdita who woke.

In the room outside, Star Girl glared at Shimmer. "You destroyed my cosmic staff…" She then kicked Shimmer who tried to attack. "YOU DESTROYED MY COSMIC STAFF!"

Lassos wrapped around Metallo before he was pulled off to the other side of the room as Fury punched his chest breaking the door and pulling out the kryptonite. "We already watched our husband die once this year," Meg said as Fury grabbed him.

She flew up out of the hole she made before dropping down on the roof and knocked him out before looking at the rock. She sighed before placing it back in once she saw his lighting start to dim.

Metropolis November 12, 12:00 EST.

"So she left the kryptonite?"

A security guard asked Lex who was standing in front of his desk with Mercy. "I have to admit sparing his life was a class move."

Suddenly, the lights flickered before they went out as the cameras turned off before Naruto dropped down on the guard knocking him out before standing. "Ah-Ah!" Naruto held up a dead man switch he was holding as Mercy's canon came out. "Hit me and everything Bee told me as well as everything I recorded today goes out on every news station in the world."

Lex held up a hand as Naruto walked to him. "Perdita's my family now… She's off-limits. If you think I won't kill you I'm not only a ninja, but a pissed-off father! Not only will I put everything you got your fingers into into the news but I can also fabricate stuff so your best lawyers will only be able to get you only life in prison with no parole until you're 100."

Naruto then walked back into the shadows as the lights turned on showing he was gone.

The Watchtower November 12, 12:03 EST.

"So, everyone got out safe?"

Superman asked Naruto and Miss Martian who stood in front of solar pods that held Superboy and another for Match who was unconscious. "No hero left behind and no Psimon surprises either." She replied with a sigh. "Metallo made his choice to be a heartless machine. He has his cold kryptonite heart back. He'll have to live with it."

"We got our brother back though," Superboy said from his pod as they turned to Match.

Star City November 12, 09:05 PST.

At Royal Memorial Hospital, the coma patients begin to wake up. Denny immediately worries for Perdita, but she is there and reassures him she is okay. Dinah says that deep down they knew she'd be alright, as Will and the rest of the Arrow family affirmed that they'd make sure of it.

The Watchtower November 11, 15:07 EST.

Artemis in her costume was debriefing the squad as Black Bat looked out the window remembering that today was the sixth anniversary of Wally's funeral and remembering everyone who attended as well as Beast Boy meeting Perdita.

Happy Harbor November 26, 14:16 EST.

Naruto was putting a turkey into the oven of her daughter's house as he turned to see his family, Snapper's and Perdita. "Be ready in a few hours." He said before Athanasia walked in and up to him.

Naruto smiled as he crouched to pick his youngest up. "Hey, baby girl."
