Chapter 3: Arrival and Meet and Greet

After a long and wild plane ride, the Louds finally landed in San Diego. As the Louds got off the plane, Rita went into the bathroom to change. After that, the Louds went outside.

"Ahhh! Sunny San Diego!" Lola sighed in bliss.

"I can't wait to hit the beach and dig for shells!" Lana cheered.

"Honey, where's our rental car?" Rita asked her husband.

"It should be coming right about...now." Lynn Sr said as an old run down van appears.

"Here's your rental car, sir." The driver said.

"We're gonna need a bigger car." Lincoln said.

"It's not like Vanzilla, but it's close enough." Lynn Sr said as the Louds pile into the van.

"Ok, everyone. Seatbelts on, a full tank a gas, Honey, GPS check." Lynn Sr said to the kids and to his wife.

"I'm on it honey." Rita said as she turns on the GPS.

"Your destination is 20 minutes away." The GPS said

"Alright everyone, hotel here we come." Lynn Sr said as everyone cheers as the van drives away.

5 Minutes into the ride, everyone was complaining about the van.

"Is it me? Or does this van stinks?!" Lola asked.

"That's the best part! (Sniffs) Ahhh! With a hint of cigarettes." Lana blissfully said.

"Ewww!" Everyone said in disgust at Lana.

"Ugh! I'm so hot! Dad! Can you turn on the A.C?" Leni complained.

Lynn Sr tried to turn on the A.C, but it doesn't work.

"Huh. It doesn't seem to work." Lynn Sr said.

"Must be a cooler leak. Pull over Pops. I'll check it out." Lana suggested.

"Sorry, Honey. We can't. We're in the middle of the highway, it's unsafe for us to do maintenance now." Rita said to Lana.

"Can someone roll down a window at least?" Lori asked.

Lincoln tries to, but they won't roll down.

"That's weird. My window won't roll down." Lincoln said.

"Mine neither." Luna said.

"I can't roll down my window either. But don't worry, we'll be at the hotel in 25 minutes. Just pretend you're at the beach." Rita said trying to cheer everyone up despite how hot they are.

"In this?! Ugh! No! Why is so hot here?!" Lori asked in annoyance.

"Lori, we're in California. The temperature is always 63 to 90 degrees all year round." Lisa said.

"Oh yeah! That literally makes everything better!" Lori complained.

"And I thought I was a drama queen." Lola said.

"I heard that!" Lori said.

"You were supposed to!" Lola said back.

Lincoln turns to the audience. "First a long Vanzilla ride, then a wild plane ride, now a wild and long rental van ride. What else can happen on our vacation?"

After a long ride, the Louds finally made it to their hotel as they are checking in to their room.

When the family made their way to their room they saw it was fairly big but like their home, they only have one bathroom and they have beds big enough to fit two people, so so much for having their own beds back at home.

"This rooms kinda small." Lincoln said.

"Yeah. And we're all literally gonna sleep in the same beds." Lori said.

"Man." Lynn Jr complained. "I wish I had my own bed to stretch my legs."

"I know kids." Lynn Sr said. "But this is the best hotel room we got. We can still have fun in California."

"Ok." The kids said.

"Well. We still have plenty of time to spend. What do you kids want to do?" Rita asked her children.

"Actually Mom." Luna spoke up. "I hear the Premiere Galleria mall is very nice and has plenty of shops."

"Can we go there and do some shopping? I totes wanna buy a lot of clothes!" Leni asked.

"Please?!" The kids asked.

"Well...okay." Rita said as the kids cheer.

"But we be gotta back by dinner." Lynn Sr said

The family then made their way to the San Diego Galleria to begin their little summer shopping spree!

Meanwhile at the Premiere Galleria, Drake and Josh were walking around waiting for their girlfriends Carly and Mindy much to the joy of the boys except maybe for Drake since he and Mindy still have that feud together.

While they're walking Josh was asking Drake a series of scenarios questions like they did in the past.

"Ok so. If you're on a stranded island and you are forced to eat bugs for food. Would you do it?" Josh asked Drake.

"Are grubs among those bugs?" Drake asked Josh.

"No." Josh answered.

Drake thought about it. "Yeah I think I'd do it. If I eat around the venom then yeah." Drake answered.

"Hmm." Josh wondered something. "I wonder what ketchup tastes like with bugs."

"Probably as tasty as your own foot." Drake said as he suddenly got a text.

"Oh! Carly's here!" Drake said excitedly.

"Great!" Josh said as he got a text on his phone too. "And so is Mindy!"

"Oh great." Drake groaned making Josh glare at him. "Oooh! Great!" Drake said in a bit of an Irish accent.

"Come on. Let's meet them at the entrance." Josh said as he and Drake made their way to the entrance to meet their girlfriends.

The boys got to the entrance and saw their girlfriends Carly and Mindy.

"Hey Mindy!" Josh said excitedly.

"Hi Josh!" Mindy said happily.

"Hey Carly." Drake said happily.

"Hey Drake." Carly said happily.

Drake glared at Mindy. "Hello She Beast." Drake greeted bitterly.

"Hello D average." Mindy greeted back trying to spite him back.

"Uh I'm now in the C average!" Drake said back.

"Still an ignoramus." Mindy commented back.

Drake was confused. "What?"

"Exactly why you should stay D average." Mindy said as the commenting finally stopped much to the relief of Josh and Carly.

"Ok guys. Why don't we get our shopping done and then eat lunch." Carly said.

"Great idea Carly!" Josh said as the two couples made their way through the galleria to do their things.

After a few moments, the Loud Family arrived at the Galleria.

"OMG! I'm totes gonna get so much summer fashion wear!" Leni cheered.

"I'm literally gonna get cute stuff for me and boo boo bear!" Lori cheered happily.

The kids cheered on their own about what stuff they're gonna get at the Galleria.

"Now now kids." Lynn Sr. "I know we're on vacation but let's not get too crazy and buy a lot of stuff."

"We got to keep our money safe for everything else we do on our trip. Ok?" Rita asked.

"Ok." The kids said as everyone went their ways to buy whatever they want to get.

While everyone was shopping, Lincoln turns to the audience once again.

"Well another day at the mall. But on summer vacation in California." Lincoln spoke to the audience/readers. "Great for the girls and Mom but for Dad and me, we just enjoy tagging along and looking to buy guy stuff. Shopping sprees aren't really my thing but at least I get to enjoy it with my family."

As time went on, the Louds eventually bought the things they want and are now meeting at the food court for lunch.

"Has everyone gotten everything they wanted?" Rita asked the tamily.

"We sure did Mom!" Lincoln replied I. "I found new Ace Savy comics for me to read later."

"I got new golf shoes for my next outings and new lipstick for when Bobby boo boo bear and I kiss." Lori said as her younger siblings groaned in disgust. "Hey! Until you get your own dates, don't rub your disgust in my face!"

"Maybe you should brag about it so much dude." Luna replied.

"Anyway." Leni spoke up. "I got myself fabulous new clothes for myself."

"Not the same ones you wear everyday right Leni?" Lincoln asked his big sister.

"No!" Leni quickly replied. " mean, I don't think so. It's kinda hard to remember what I bought."

"So you bought all that stuff in your bags, and yet you don't remember what you bought?" Lynn Jr. Asked.

"What? There were totes a lot of stuff that caught me eye and I wanted them." Leni said.

"I just hope you didn't spend too much money on too many things honey." Rita said.

"No Mom! Of course not!" Leni said. "I'm not that a crazy shopper!"

"At least you have a job." Luna quietly said. "For my stuff, I bought the latest Mick Swagger album and new guitar strings."

"I got new gags and pranks." Luan spoke up when she chuckled. "Especially with April Fools Day coming up!"

The family especially Lincoln shuddered when Luan said that. It's always a nightmare every April Fools Day with Luan as the prankster.

"Don't remind us Luan." Lynn Jr. spoke up. "Anyway, I needed to get new cleats for my next sports events as well as new exercise clothes.

Lucy then spoke up. "I got new poetry books to help me with my own poems.

"OMG! I bought new fantabulous make up!" Lola spoke up. "This princess needs to look her prettiest every day!"

"Yeah yeah. We know Lols." Lana groaned. "Anyway, I got a set of bugs and worms to feed Hops."

"Gross Lana!" Lola groaned in disgust.

"You're welcome Lola." Lana chuckled at her polar opposite twin.

"As for me family..." Lisa spoke up. "I qot a new chemistry set for future chemical studies and experiments. Gotta keep my big brain functioning and make new discoveries."

"Let's just hope she doesn't test on us." Lincoln said to the audience.

Rita spoke up next. "I just got new clothes for myself and baby clothes for Lily." Lily giggled and clapped her little hands in an adorable way.

"I got new cooking supplies for myself and for the trip." Lynn Sr. spoke up. "I hope one day I'll get into a cooking contest and show off my skills."

"That would be literally awesome Dad." Lori spoke up.

"Speaking of food. I'm hungry." Lincoln said. "How about we all go get lunch."

"Good idea little bro." Luna said smiling at her little brother.

"Ok honey. Let's all get our food and meet back here." Rita said as everyone went to find food at the restaurants in the food court.

While the family was going to get their lunch, Luna saw a sign up sheet for the San Diego beach music festival.

"No way! A music festival on the beach! That's so rad! I gotta sign up!" Luna said excitedly as she rushed her way to the sheet.

While she was running she accidentally bumped into two people.

"Oh sorry!" One of the people apologized.

"I didn't see you there." The other one apologized.

Both people sounded like two teenage boys.

"Are you ok?" One of them asked.

'I'm ok." Luna replied. "I'm sorry t... (gasp) NO WAY!"

Luna looked up and gasped as she actually recognized the two people in front of her.

Standing in front of Luna were Drake Parker and Josh Nichols!

"No way! Drake Parker! And Josh Nichols!" Luna shouted excitedly knowing who they are.

"Hey. Looks like we got another fan brotha." Josh said.

"Wait till the autographs come in." Drake said. "For me at least."

"Show off." Josh scoffed.

"Guys! Come over here quick!" Luna shouted to her family.

Everyone heard Luna shout and ran to her direction.

"Luna! What's wrong?!" Lincoln asked.

"Is everything ok honey?" Rita asked.

"Guess who I just met! It's Drake Parker! And his brother Josh Nichols!" Luna said excitedly.

"Who?" The family asked.

"Uh. Hey everyone." Drake greeted in a slightly awkward voice.

"Oh sorry guys." Luna apologized to Drake and Josh. "I see this is sorta awkward. How about we introduce ourselves."

"Good idea." Drake said. "Last thing I want is to be chased everywhere by screaming fans and paparazzi."

"Your loss." Lola said with a little smirk.

"Anyway, I'm Drake Parker. I'm a rising rockstar with my own band." Drake introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you Drake." Rita said politely.

"And I'm Josh! Josh Nichols!" Josh introduced himself. "Drakes brotha and band manager!"

"Dude, not the time." Drake said to Josh

"Sorry." Josh apologized. "I just get excited sometimes."

"Just don't drink too much coffee again." Drake said.

"Nice to meet you too Josh." Lynn Sr. Said.

"If you guys wanna know who we are." Lincoln said before motioning to his family. "We're the Louds! I'm Lincoln Loud. And these are my sisters: Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lola, Lana, Lisa, and Lily. And my parents, my mom Rita and my dad Lynn Sr."

"Wow! You guys are a huge family!" Josh remarked in surprise. "That's radical! RADICAL!!"

The others looked at Josh in a bit of confusion till he spoke up. "Sorry guys. Sometimes I just like to repeat words for emphasis. EMPHASIS!!"

"Ok ok Josh we get it." Drake commented. "No need to wet your pants over this."

"So what are you guys doing here?" Josh asked.

"We're actually on a vacation to California Josh." Rita said.

"We booked a hotel here in San Diego." Lynn Sr. Said.

"Yeah and we all wanted to go shopping here at this mall!" Leni said excitedly.

"Yeah dudes!" Luna spoke up. "We were eating at the food court and I was gonna sign up for the San Diego beach music festival when I bumped into you guys!"

"Wow guys! That's awesome! Welcome to San Diego!" Josh said in a friendly tone.

"Thanks Josh!" Rita said happily.

"Wait Luna. I was gonna sign up for that festival too." Drake spoke up. "You're a musician too?"

"That's right Drake!" Luna said happily as sped to the family car and brought out one of her guitars.

"Woah!" Drake and Josh exclaimed.

"How fast was that?" Josh asked Drake.

"I bet you ten bucks she did that in five seconds." Drake commented.

"Check out my guitar playing dudes!" Luna said as she plays a very well guitar riff that's leaves Drake and Josh shocked.

"Wow! That's awesome Luna!" Drake exclaimed impressed with her guitar playing.

"Yeah. Literally rockin!" Josh said excitedly.

"Thanks guys!" Luna said happily.

"Hey. How about we sign up for the festival together so we can play on stage together? You in?" Drake asked Luna who had a look of excitement on her face.

"YES!!!!!" Luna said excitedly.

The Louds cheered for Luna performing on stage with Drake.

"Alright Luna!" The Louds cheered excitedly!

"This is gonna be awesome for you sis!" Lincoln shouted to his big sister.

"Yeah Luna. Totally wicked." Lucy said doing a rock pose with her fingers and smiling.

"You two will be great on stage together." Rita said smiling.

"Yeah! Literally!" Lori said smiling.

"Well what are we waiting for?! Let's get rockin'!" Josh said excitedly as everyone went to sign up Drake and Luna for the festival.

When that's done everyone was about to go their separate ways when Leni spoke up.

"So Drake, one question: Are you single?" Leni asked.

"LENI!" The Louds asked loudly.

"What? He's cute!" Leni said.

Drake spoke up. "Yeah I am. But this dudes already taken."

It was then everyone left to do their things before the festival in the next few hours.
