Chapter1
Author's P.O.V
On the east side of town a group of trouble-making gangsters hiding in the shadows across from a closed pawn shop, waiting for more of their members to show up.
"Are we all here yet?" One of the gangsters asked.
"Not yet, we're still waiting for Emmett." Said the one with a dragon tattoo on his face.
"He'll show up. He always wants to make an entrance." He said as he leans against the wall of the ally as they wait for their last member.
Five blocks away
On the same side of town, about five blocks away at a utility store a girl, no older than 15, walks into the store with two young boys beside her.
"Oh, Evelyn, Gregory, and Raimundo. Good to see you three again" Said the elderly Chinese shop owner. His hair as white as snow is held back by a hair tie.
"It's good to see you again too Heng," Evelyn said as she and her brother bow in respect to the man. Which he gladly returns.
"So what can I do for you three today?" Heng asks the three young children.
"I have a favor to ask you," Evelyn said.
"Oh, what is it?" Mr. Heng asks looking at her.
"If it's not too much trouble; could you watch over my brothers? I have to run some errands for a while." She said as she places her hands together as if she was praying. The man thought about it for a moment.
"Of course, it is no trouble at all." Said a fail old voice coming from above them. Coming down the stairs, an elderly woman with her hair up in a bun.
"Are you sure?" Evelyn said.
"Yes, you and your brothers are our best customers, and I haven't finished teaching Gregory how to fix a broken TV." Mr. Heng said as he walks around the counter and pet the young boy's head. Then he lets them go and they run farther back into the store and join the elderly woman.
"Thank you, Heng and Jiao. I should be back in two or three hours." Evelyn said as she bows to them.
"No need to thank us, Evelyn." Mrs. Jiao said as she pets her shoulder and smiles at the young girl, which caused Evelyn to smile too.
"Alright you two, be good while I'm gone," Evelyn said to her brothers as they look through all of the utilities in the shop.
"We will!" the two boys said together.
"Alright, I'll be back soon," Evelyn said as she waves goodbye and heads out into the quiet streets of the city. When she's about one foot away, she quickly ducks into a nearby alleyway and pulls out a bag from a secret hiding spot. She reaches inside and pulls out a dark blue hoodie with a black dragon design on the back and puts it on. Then she reaches inside and pulls out a black mask that covers half of her face but only shows her eyes. After she secures the mask on her face; she reaches again into the bag and pulls out a short dark brown hair wig and Beanie. She pulls her hair into a bun and then places the wig over her real hair. After that, she covers her fake hair with bennie. When she finishes she takes out her hand mirror and looks at herself.
"All set." She said as she closes her hand mirror and puts her bag back in its hiding spot and look up at the full moon in the sky. Then she looks down at her right hand and pulls off the palm glove to reveal a purple dragon tattoo.
"Time to go to work." She said as she pulls her hood up and runs towards a nearby fire escape ladder and climbs it all the way up to the roof, and jumps from rooftop to rooftop.
At the pawnshop ten minutes later
Back at the pawnshops, the gang of thieves starts to lose their patience and began to throw a fit.
"This guy coming dragon face." one of the guys said as he jumps off of his seat.
"He'll be here. He has to." The man named dragon face said as he smirked to himself.
"We're wasting time, waiting for this guy." Said one of the other gang members.
"If that guy doesn't show up in the next five seconds, I'm gonna-" Said one of the guys whose patience is wearing thin.
"You'll do what?" said a voice from above them.
The gang looks up and sees a hooded figure above them standing on the bars of the fire escape with perfect balance. Then suddenly the figure jumps down and lands in front of the guy that spoke. Everyone but the man named dragon face is surprised to see a young boy jump from a five-story building and landing perfectly on his feet.
"I'd be careful about what you say to a dragon punk." The hooded boy says, and then suddenly he pushes his right fist but stops inches from the man's face causing him to close his eyes. When the guy didn't feel anything he opens his eyes and sees the palm of the boy's hand.
"You don't want to get burned by its fire." The boy said as he retracts his fist and walks away from the man.
"You little runt!" the guy said as he raises his steel pipe to hit him ready to stick, but a hand stops the guy. They look and see it was dragon face that stopped him.
"I wouldn't if I were you." He said and then let's goes off the guy's hand go.
"He's got skills that almost surpass the skills of Han." He warned. This caused the others to gasp in surprise at what they hear about this guy.
"Besides; we're all here, so let's get to work?" Dragon face said as he and the boy walk towards the edge of the wall.
"You know what to do Emmett?" Dragon face said.
"Hmph, don't doubt my skills," Emmett said. He looks left and right and sees that the area is clear. Then he sneaks towards the shop and creeps towards the side door. When he sees that the area is called clear he signals the others to come out of hiding and join him at the side door.
"There isn't anyone inside or in the area. This should be an easy steal." Emmett said as the last gang member joins the group by the door.
"Good work Emmitt." Dragon face said as he walks toward the door and knocks it down.
When the door goes down the rest of the gang members walk into the shop and start grabbing anything they can carry. One of the purple dragons walks towards a cash register and smashes it open. It opened and revealed all the cash hidden inside. The man named Dragon face grabbed a bag and started stuffing it full.
"Tonight; it's easy pickings!" he said as the other dragons cheered as they continue to take what they want.
Well everyone except Emmett; stayed by the door and not go near any of the merchandise in the shop. As he watches the others take what is not theirs, he stares with such scorn and hatred but deep down, he was no different from them. He always knew that from the moment he got his tattoo and joined New York's fearsome gang. The Purple Dragons. He knew that this was a path that had no point of return. No matter how much he wants to leave, he can't. He has to, for two hidden reasons that he's willing to do anything to protect and to risk anything to keep them hidden.
On a rooftop two houses down
Coming on the scene; four turtles wearing four different color ninja masks around their faces. One blue, red, orange and purple. One by one they jump off the rooftops showing off their skills and abilities.
"Yahoo!" Yelled the orange masked turtle as he and his brothers jumped roof to roof.
"Mikey! We're supposed to be quiet!" Said the purple masked one strictly said hopping to the next roof.
"Yeah...whatever..." Mikey laughed.
"Another hopeless cause..." the purple said with a sigh. The turtles stopped on a roof. Just to rest up a bit.
"See anything?" The blue masked one asked.
"Nope." Said the one wearing a red mask.
"Nada..." Said mickey.
"Negative..." Said the one wearing a purple mask. The one with the blue mask sighed and sat down, leaning on the edge, resting.
"Donny...don't cha have some awesome tool thingy that I could play with?" Mikey moaned digging through the purple masked turtle.
"Urg...Get off Mikey!" Donny slapped him. He got out a pair of weird-looking goggles.
"Here...night vision goggles..." He said.
"Awesome! Turtle night vision!" Mikey grabbed the object from Donny's hand and put them on over his mask.
Mikey looked through the goggles looking at the entire area that he and his brothers were in. As he continues to scan the area, he spots movement near a closed pawnshop from two houses down.
"Um guys," Mikey said turning to look at his brothers.
"What is it Mikey," Leo asks.
"Sizable target moving east at two o'clock. Suspect possibly hostile, proceed with caution." Mikey said sounding like a policeman watching a scanner. The other brothers put on their goggles and look at where Mikey is looking, and sure enough, they see movement too.
"Looks like the purple dragons are at it again," Donnie said as he zooms in on one of the people and sees the purple dragon tattoo. They watch as one by one they walk out with something in their hands.
"Guess it's time to teach them another lesson." The red masked turtle said as he punches his fist into his palm.
"Well, might as well get some training done." The blue masked turtle said as he unsheathes his two swords from his back.
"Alright time fight the bad guys," Mickey said as he and his brothers jump from their rooftop and to the roof next door to the shop and waited for the right moment to strike.
Outside the shop just as the turtle arrives
"Well done boys look like another easy score." Dragon face said as he raises his fist in the air holding a bag full of money. Raising the spirits of the dragons.
"I wouldn't count on it!" said a voice from above. Then suddenly four figures jump down and from above and land in front of the gang.
"Well so much being an easy score," Emmett whispered to himself as he and the other dragons stare at their uninvited guests. When the figures come into the light, they see four giant turtles with four different weapons drawn in their hands ready to fight.
"How much more beatings will it take for you punks to know when to quit." Said the turtle wearing a red mask.
"It's the turtles. Dragons attack!" Said dragon face ordered. The purple dragon members attack.
"Probably a lot more." Said the orange masked turtle as he and the other turtles begin their attack on the dragons.
As the battle begins dragon face cowers behind a trash bin beside Emmett. Emmett watches in amazement as the skill of martial arts the strange creatures before he performs as they take down every one of the gang members.
"Emmett here take this." Dragon face said as he hands him the bag and runs away cowardly. Leaving him and the others with the turtles.
"Coward," Emmett said as he watches Dragon face run away with his tail in between his legs.
"Well, looks like there's one more left." Said a voice behind him.
Emmett turns around and sees the turtles had finished off the rest of the gang; leaving him the only one left to fight them.
"Check out this guy, I've never seen this guy before. It looks like he's trying to pull off the whole ninja look." Said the purple masked turtle as he rests his bow staff on his shoulders.
"Yeah I mean he looks like one of those ninja's we ran into but purple dragon version." Said the orange masked turtle as he twirls one of his two Nunchaku.
"He must be new to the gang." Said the purple masked turtle said as if he's studying Emmett.
All of the turtle's stare at him silently as if waiting for him to speak.
Emmett holds the bag of cash in his left hand and slowly lifts his right arm, with his fist closed, out in front of him. Making the turtles flinch slightly and grab their weapons waiting for him to make a move. Emmett opens his hand showing them his purple dragon on his hand.
"Well, that answers the question." Growled the red masked turtle as he twirls his Sais and points it at Emmett. Causing him to step back and tighten his grip on the bag as he takes his fighting stance.
"Wait a minute Raph, maybe we can talk about this." Said the blue masked turtle as he stops the red masked turtle known as Raph.
"Are you kidding, he's a dragon. Just like the other guys we just bashed. We need to bash him too." Said the known as Raph as he pushes the other turtle's arm away from him.
"Let's just try." The blue masked turtle said and then looks towards Emmett.
"Hey listen, we don't want to hurt you." Said the blue masked turtle.
"Speak for yourself," Said the one is known as Raph interrupting the blue one.
"But if you cooperate with us then we won't hurt you." Said the blue one with a small smile on his face.
Emmett is surprised by his words. He's heard about the turtles and how they foil the plans of the purple dragons. He knows that they are the enemy and he can't get involved with the enemy. If he does; then he won't be able to protect what matters most to him. So he shakes it off and plans an escape. He notices the trash bin beside him and came up with a plan.
"What do you say?" the blue one said as he extends a hand to him. Emmett tenses up for a moment and then relaxes.
"See guys, I told you he'll listen." Said the blue masked turtle. Then the other turtles relaxed and put their weapons away as the blue masked turtle walks towards Emmitt. Just as the blue masked turtle reaches for the bag in his hand; Emmitt kicks the trash bin up in the air and roundhouse kicks it towards the turtles and runs towards the fire escape across the street.
"Well, it looks like you were wrong Leo." Said the one named Raph as he kicks it away from them and then runs after Emmett followed by the other two. But the one known as Leo stays for a moment wondering why Emmett chose to run. But he shakes the thought and joins the others in their chase of Emmitt. They follow Emmitt towards the ladder as Emmett starts to climb up, but Raph grabs his foot stopping him.
"You're not getting away so-" Raph said but is stopped mid-sentence when Emmett takes the bag in his hand and swings it hard and smacks him in the face. Making him let go of his leg so he can continue his escape.
"Damit!" Raph said as he holds his face in his hand as the others finally catch up to him.
"Nice one Raph," Mikey said trying to hold back his laughter.
"Can it Mikey!" Raph yelled back as he stands up as his anger begins to rise.
"Enough guys he's getting away," Leo said as he jumps on the ladder and begins to climb after Emit, followed by the others.
At the top of the roof; Emmitt runs towards the other end and jumps from one roof to the next. When the turtles reached the top, they are surprised to see the boy jump from one building to another; just like them.
"Wow, he must be a ninja or something," Mickey said surprised.
"It doesn't matter what he is. He's going down one way or another." Raph said growling as he clutches his Sais and runs after Emmett; jumping from rooftop to rooftop, followed by the others.
Emmett's P.O.V
I jump from rooftop to rooftop running from the turtles hoping to lose them in one of the buildings. But as I make my escape, I wasn't paying attention to what roof I jumped onto.
"Dammit," I said as I see I can't make it to the next building. I look around and there are no buildings close to him. Now I'm trapped.
"Nowhere to run now!" Said a voice behind me. I turn around and see the one called Raph comes on the roof along with the other turtles.
I step back towards the edge and almost fall over. I look over the edge and sees how far down and it's. I think I can make it down and hide within the people walking by not knowing what's going on. I look back at the turtles trying to strategize what to do next.
"There's nowhere to go, so just give up and hand over what you stole." Said the blue masked turtle.
'I guess I have no choice then.' I thought as I tight the bag to my belt tightly to make sure it won't fall off. Then I look and face the strange turtles.
"我希望你讓我一個人待著。 我不想傷害你。," I said in Chinese, hoping that they would get confused and walk away. {Translation: I want you to leave me alone. I do not wish to hurt you.}
"Uh, did anyone understand what said?" Said the orange masked turtle looking confused, which I'm glad. 'Got one, now the others.' I thought as I watch the others.
"I'm not familiar with the Chinese languages." Said the purple masked turtle.
"I don't know and I don't care. I'm taking this guy out!" Said Raph as he growls at me and twirls his Sais.
'Looks like that didn't work.' I thought.
Suddenly the one called Raph comes charging at me with his Sais. I see the direction of his attack and dodge it. He strikes at me again, but I keep my mind and heart calm and swiftly dodge his sais. Like water washing over and around rocks.
Arthur's P.O.V
The other turtles watch in amazement as this unknown guy dodges all of Raph's attacks. All of Raph's attacks now look like they're striking the air. They had never seen such skills in their life.
"Wow," Mickey said in awe.
"I'll say mickey. I've never seen anyone move like that. Have you Leo?" Donnie said just as surprised as Mickey.
"I don't know," Leo said as they watch the boy dodge Raph's attacks effortlessly.
Raph swipes his Sais at Emmett making a backflip away from Raph.
"我試圖警告你。" {Translation: I tried to warn you.}Emmett said as he looks at the turtles and back at Raph as he charges him head-on. "對不起" {Translation: I'm Sorry} Emmett said.
Just as Raph Sais is only an inch away from his head; Emmett ducks in between Raph's legs and positions his hand in the center of Raph's shell. Preventing him from turning around to face Emmett. Raph finally breaks from the position he's in and faces Emmett. Then their fight began. Emmett began fighting a strange form that he or the other turtles have never seen. In no time at all, Emmett takes down Raph with a swift and powerful twist of his arm.
"Oh man, he was able to take down Raph with some strange fighting technique," Donny said surprised.
"No sweat. The mickey got this." Mickey said as she twirls both of his Nunchakus and charges at him. Mickey swings his Nunchakus left and right at Emmett, and just as before he dodges them just as easily as he did during his fight with Raph.
"What's a matter, can't hit me with your fancy moves. Can you." Mickey said taunting Emmett. As Mickey swings his Nunchaku to strike Emmett at the head; Emmett takes the blow in his hand and grabs it, surprising Mickey. Then Emmett began his attack on Mickey, fighting in another strange style of fighting.
"Okay, maybe you can," Mickey said as he falls just as Raph fell.
"So what now Leo?" Donny asks as he and Leo are the last ones of the turtle's agents Emmett.
Before Leo could answer his brother, their eyes spotted Emmett standing at the edge of the building.
"Hey, wait," Leo said as he calls out to him.
Emmett turns and looks at them and bows his head slightly to them and then falls over the edge. Shocked by his actions, Leo and Donny run to the edge to see what happened to him. When they peer over, they don't see any signs of the boy.
"He's gone," Leo said disappointed. Suddenly loud groans are heard from behind them. They look and see their other brother's waking up from their fight with the mysterious boy.
"Oh man, my poor aching shell," Mickey said as he rubs the back of his shell as he and Raph get up.
"Man, who was that guy?" Raph said as his other two brothers' come and help him and Mickey
"I don't know, but the way he fought is different from what I've seen," Leo said as he helps Mickey stand.
"Let's just head back to the lair. Maybe sensei might know." Donny said. The turtle brother agreed and return to their home.
