Chapter 1: Prologue

Morning

Beep - Beep - Beep

Lobo woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring. He groaned as he reached over to turn it off, feeling the weight of another long day at work settling over him. He sits up and stretches his body as he can feel his bones popping.

"Ugh dammit I wish I can call in today but today is the deadline for the project so I can't. God this suck so much, I hope nothing can fuck up my mood today." Lobo said as he rubbed the back of his head.

He dragged himself out of bed and stumbled into the bathroom, splashing cold water on his face to try and wake himself up. Looking in the mirror he sees his reflection. He is dark-skinned male with pronounced cheek-bones and has wavy brown hair with bangs that generally hangs over his brown eyes. He is a muscular and extremely tall man. He has a tattoo on his left shoulder which reads "Amor y Muerte" ("love and death" in Spanish) and consists of a heart with a snake and angel wings around it.

As he finishes taking a shower he is dressed in a black pants, black dress shoes, a white button up long sleeve shirt, red necktie, and a black work coat. Looking at himself he checks his appearance and nods in satisfaction.

Lobo couldn't help but think about the monotony of his job. Every day was the same: he sat in a cubicle, typing away at a computer for hours on end. He longed for something more fulfilling, but bills needed to be paid, and there were no other opportunities in sight.

Lobo grabbed a quick breakfast and as he was about to head out the door, he looked at the photo on the table stand. The photo shows a young Lobo with him sitting on his father's lap and a young girl who is his sister sitting on their mother's lap. He deeply misses them but he knew they wouldn't want him to be stuck in the past.

He heads out the door and locks it then joins the stream of commuters on the way to the train station. As he sat on the train, surrounded by other tired and weary workers, he couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness. Was this all there was to life? Wake up, go to work, come home, sleep, repeat.

After getting off the train, Lobo stood at the crosswalk, his eyes fixed on the red hand as it counted down the seconds until he could cross. He felt the sweat on his palms as he clutched his briefcase tighter anxiously glancing at the watch on his wrist. He was running late for work, and every second counted.

As soon as the hand turned green Lobo ran as fast he could he had five minutes till he was late for work. By the time he made it to the front door he was barely made it in time. Lobo took his time card and swiped to punch in for the day, sighing "Phew, just made it in time." Said Lobo

The office is bustling with activity as employees type away at their desks. Lobo, a diligent and hardworking individual, walks in, clutching his coffee mug tightly. He makes his way to his desk, nodding to his colleagues as he passes them by.

"Good Morning everyone." Said Lobo as he was making his way to the cubicle to get started on his task for the day.

"Morning Lobo!" As some of his coworkers greeted him as he got to his cubicle.

Lobo takes a seat and logs onto his laptop when all of a sudden, his boss appears. "Lobo, I need you to come with me." As his boss made way toward his cubicle, Lobo stood up, a look of panic on his face.

"Wh- what's going on?" Lobo said as his boss looked at him with an agitated expression on his face."Look, I made a mistake and now I need you to fire one of our employees so corporate does not breath down my back for this." Said the Boss

Lobo' stomach drops "But Boss what if he files a lawsuit against us if he finds out." Said Lobo as his mind was racing at what he has to do

"He won't if we can find a way to fire him without getting suspicious." Said the Boss so Lobo follows his boss into a meeting room. His boss explains the situation as he and the employee face each other.

"Hello Mr. Campbell we are sorry to inform you but due to company policies we must terminate your employment with us due to the error that you made. We are sorry but you must hand over Id badge and clear out your desk in the next hour." Lobo said as he tried to hold in his emotions.

"Please, Mr. Lobo, don't fire me. I have bills to pay and a family to feed, if you fire me I wouldn't be able to support my family. This is the only job I can afford." The employee says as he was crying and begging not to be fired

Lobo looks away, unable to make eye contact. "I'm sorry but this decision is out of my hands. Please collect your things and turn in any credentials you have on your body. I'm sorry Mr. Campbell." He mumbles an apology as he hands the employee the termination papers.

The Boss told the former employee "You heard him, Campbell, clear your desk and leave." He said as the employee lowered his head as tears were running down his face.

The employee gets up, hands shaking, and leaves. Lobo follows him out, feeling a wave of guilt wash over him. "God dammit this is not how i want to start the day off, Fuck, this is the worst." Said Lobo as he went back to desk mulling at the situation he was placed in.

His boss patted him on the back "You did well Lobo now Corporate will fuck off and leave us alone. Thanks for your help, now get back to work and don't breathe a single word about understand." The boss said as Lobo nodded his head and the boss went to his office.

As Lobo tries to return to his cubicle he goes to the bathroom and goes into the stalls. He leaned over the toilet and began to regurgitate as his stomach couldn't handle this anxiety. As he finishes he goes to the sink and wipes his face as he stares at his face he then shook his head and began cleaning up. After this he went to the cubicle and began working on the documents.

Throughout the day Lobo had a bad feeling in his gut, that the decision would come and bite him in the ass. As the day was nearing the end Lobo logged off his laptop and shut it down getting ready to clock out. He saw his boss standing near the door and pulled him to the side.

"You did well today Lobo. I expect you to be here early tomorrow morning for the presentation. You understand." The boss said as Lobo nodded his head and the boss said goodnight as they clocked out and exited the building and went their separate ways.

Night-Time

As Lobo was walking toward the train station he couldn't shake off this feeling he was experiencing. Maybe he is going crazy after what happened today. He just wants to go to sleep and forget this ever happened. As he made his way to the platform he noticed there were more people than there was ever.

As Lobo is standing on the platform, waiting for the train to arrive. Ring - Ring - Ring. His phone started to ring as he pulled his phone out he noticed it was his friend Jamie who was calling him.

"Hey Lobo, me and the boys decided to hit the bars tonight and were wondering if you want to hang out with us. You know we haven't had boys night out in a while so you down or what." Jamie said as Lobo as he mulled over this decision on one hand he hasn't seen Jamie and the boys in months.

But on the other hand he has to wake early for the presentation tomorrow. So he decided that it was best to get hammered with the boys.

"You know what fuck it save me a spot tonight I will meet you guys at the bar after I take a shower." Lobo said as Jamie chuckles " Alright man we will be at Rudy's on ninth Street at 10 make sure to be ready as tonight we gonna get fucked up." Jamie said as lobo chuckles and he says his goodbye as he hangs up his phone.

As the train begins to pull up to the station people were ready to get on the train and head home after a tiring day. The employee from earlier Mr. Campbell walked up from behind him and pushed Lobo in front of the incoming train.

"This is what you fucking deserve Lobo, You Son of A Bitch! I hope you rot in hell you bastard" The former employee yells out as the incoming train blares its horn as the train conductor sees Lobo being pushed in front of the train. He tried to pull the emergency brake but it was too late.

Lobo was shocked as he looked back at the former employee that pushed him. Time slowed down as Lobo looked around as the crowd watched in horror as this young man was about to be killed. Then he looked towards the train as it was inches near him ready to pulverize him.

Then he looked towards to Mr. Campbell who was held by the crowd as he has a deranged look on his face. Time resumed and the crowd screamed in horror as his blood was splattered on the train and the crowd. In his final moment Lobo was in shock then everything turned white.

Deep in the fabric of the universe, where the boundaries of time and space blurred into an enigmatic void. Lobo found himself awakening as his eyes scanned his surroundings, he noticed the vastness of the nothingness.

Where am I? I can't see anything, nor smell or feel for that matter. There's just darkness stretching endlessly, and it's completely silent too. I can't move a limb or speak, but I'm still oddly calm about this. Maybe It's some kind of dream? The last thing I remember was a train… I think. Now that I think about it, a huge chunk of memories seems to be missing.

Then all of a sudden a very bright light flooded the space as he used his arm to shield his eyes. As the light goes down he lowers his arm and he lets out a gasp.

Standing before him was an elegant figure; her appearance could be described as divine. Her skin tone is light brown almost like caramel, her long white hair is styled in a hime cut that ends above her butt, and her iris is golden brown with slit pupils.

She is wearing bikini-like armor that barely covers her privates and a Wesekh (Egyptian necklace) on her neck with an Egyptian crown on her head. She is holding a scepter with an eagle with a red sun on top of it on the end of the scepter. As she was flanked by two panthers on each side.

A voice filled Lobo's head and he heard a mellifluous voice speaking, "I am Lassandra, the keeper of worlds. You were brought here for a reason, Lobo. Your time is not yet ready, but you are needed elsewhere to protect a great world."

Confused, "What do you mean you I am needed elsewhere? What are you talking about?" but all she gave in response was a mysterious smile. The deity reached out with her scepter and pointed it at the distant light. Immediately, the void around them burst into life, and they were surrounded by a swirling kaleidoscope of vibrant colors. Lobo watched as a hellish landscape was revealed, and the deity spoke again.

"The world that you must protect, Lobo. Something has changed and beings from other universes have been coming and changing this world. They are not supposed to be here but whatever happens I cannot interfere. So I choose you to be my champion and help this world. I can give you all that you need to know about this world and how to use your skills to protect it, but you must be careful. There are many dangers that lurk, some of which you do not even know exist." Lassandra said

Lobo nodded his head solemnly. He had been given a second chance at life, but he knew that he was up to it. "Wait, how am I supposed to save this world?" The deity tapped Lobo on his head with her scepter as knowledge and abilities entered his mind.

Lobo began screaming in pain as he could feel his body changing and twisting to adapt to the changes he was feeling. He held his head as the information began overwhelming his mind as the pain began diminished.

"Go, Lobo as you are the one who can save or destroy the world as you are my chosen champion." Said Lassandra as she taps her scepter to the floor as she and the void vanishes.

"Wait, how am I supposed to save this world if I don't know where I am going, shouldn't you send me there first." Lobo said as Lassandra vanished and then he noticed his vision change from a black void to night sky.

Lobo suddenly looked down as he was very high in the air and noticed he was falling at high speed, he looked at his body and was beginning to catch on fire. With the ground coming up way too fast he thought that he was going to crash in a forest then everything went to black.
