Sunlight pours within the interiors of tidy yet almost sparse apartment, filling the place with a warm yet almost reserved glow to start a new day.

But for one certain Issei Hyoudou, he was in the middle of packing various items into his brown and black satchel before walking out of the apartment door and closing it shut behind him, dressed in an unbuttoned black long sleeve sports jacket over a red sweater that covered a white dress shirt, navy blue pants, and black loafers.

As the chestnut-haired young man starts to head out of the apartment complex and into the breezy Autumn morning within a quiet looking rural town that is beginning to start the day.

Yet despite the urge to walk around town for the scenery, the young man knew better than to do that, knowing he needed to explore once classes are finished for the day, assuming if he isn't bombarded with homework like last time.

Once he begins his trip towards the university he's attending, Issei couldn't help but notice the trees changing its leaves into their fall-themed colors, making the walk feel more peaceful than it already was.

But that didn't meant he needed to wander off to his thoughts when the young man knows he can't be late to class despite being early to get there.

Said walk took Issei a couple of minutes to reach the campus building located around near the forest, but easy enough to travel around town without the need of buses or vehicles to get there.

Likewise, the campus building itself is divided into five sections that has a particular area that college students must go related to their fields of choice, all of them having an ancient yet prestige appearance as students and faculty enters and leave the buildings.

Issei stopped walking for a moment before deciding to pull his phone out from his pocket, revealing that it was a couple of minutes before his first class can start, giving the young man some time to sit near one of the benches and take in the fresh atmosphere.

"Issei, good to see you again, bud," a familiar voice called out, causing the young man to turn towards the source.

What Issei saw was the short haired that was almost bald had on a medium green and gray outdoor jacket with khaki pants and brown work boots, carrying with him a medium sized yellow and black backpack.

The other guy with the glasses however wore an orange and dark gray jacket with black pants, black dress shoes, a brown leather satchel, and smart black rectangular-rim glasses.

"Matsuda, Motohama," Issei gave a small smirk, glad to see his old friends once more. "Good to see you guys again."

"Likewise, Issei," The guy with the glasses named Motoham nodded as he sat next to his friend on the bench while the almost bald guy was content standing up.

"Waiting for classes to start?" The almost bald guy named Matsuda asked.

"Yeah, of course," the chestnut nodded. "I checked my phone a few minutes earlier before you two showed up."

"I'm just glad you're keeping your grades up," the smart guy chuckled as he adjusted his glasses, his brown eyes scanning the area around the campus site. "Because moving to America for college is no easy feat, especially since we came here from Japan a few years ago."

"Yeah, I get that," Issei's tone was a lot more somber when being mentioned about their home country.

Matsuda noticed the expression on his friend's face. "You're still homesick, Issei?"

"I guess so," the chestnut couldn't help but nod. "Especially with the whole situation with Japan right now."

That caused the two friends to almost jolt up in response.

"Yeah, couldn't argue about that," the almost bald guy sighed in disappointment. "It stinks that our home country is going through a societal collapse right now."

"And that's not getting into detail on why the Japanese people are dealing with after the destruction of the Japanese government," the guy with the glasses shook his head. "Right now, the fallout is still ongoing, but it's going to take a considerable amount of time for the country to recover from something like that, and that's assuming things won't get any worse than before."

"Even still, I'm just glad our parents are willing to let us move to the US to start our lives fresh within Tree Field, Maine." Issei stated before his face turned into a frown. "Especially since they had to work constantly to support themselves within a workaholic system. Though I couldn't help but miss them still."

"Can't blame you one bit, Issei," Matsuda nodded.

"But anyway," Motohama decided to change topics. "Anything plans after college, Issei?"

"I'm not sure just yet," the chestnut shrugged his head. "I might try going into a business-related field before I can start my own business. Other than that, I could try writing my own stories or do manga, but that's something I can think about. What about you two?"

"I might become a mechanic once I graduate from trade school," Matsuda gave a small smirk. "I wanted to be good with repairing cars and other vehicles as well."

"That's pretty impressive, Matsuda," Issei nodded. "What about you, Motohama?"

"I might try becoming a chemist and/or a scientist after college," Motohama stated. "I do enjoy learning science and technology, so I want to become a scientist myself, though I do want to focus on learning new things that pique my interest."

"Just don't go overboard over this, okay?" Issei suggested, not wanting to image his glasses wearing friend becoming a mad scientist like they had seen in fiction.

"Anyway, Motohama and I are planning to have a game night with Murayama and Katase in a few weeks around Friday around the balcony within the dorm Motohama is staying at," Matsuda stated, letting his friend know what's going on. "Are you interested?"

That caught Issei off guard. "I'm not sure about that, especially you and Murayama are dating alongside Motohama and Katase."

"Yeah, I'm more surprised they moved to the US alongside us," the glasses wearing guy said, rubbing his messy dark brown hair. "Though to be fair, all of us were focused on trying to rebuild our lives away from Japan, so all of us need to keep ourselves level-headed whenever possible without caving into our bad habits."

"At least we're all moving forward, so that counts for something," The Chestnut wanted to at least ease the moment. "Even then, I'll think about Game Night."

"Just let us know if you want to go or not," Matsuda replied.

"Thanks, of course," Issei nodded before he checked his phone. "I better get going before I'm late for classes."

"Alright, just take it easy, Issei," The aspiring mechanic stated.

"You two guys."

And with that, the three friends depart to their respective locations, their thoughts on Game Night still fresh on their minds.

But as the young man begins to walk forward towards one of the campus buildings, a nagging feeling managed to get inside his head, particularly the fact that his friends managed to invite their girlfriends over while he's still single.

Yet despite appearing in the early stages of adulthood contrasted to his boyish looks, the chestnut couldn't help but know he needed to restart his life soon, especially given that he's among the other Japanese people living in the US.

Besides that, he personally doesn't want to personally feel alone in his personal life, even if he managed to graduate from college in the near future and start his own business.

I need to get a girlfriend soon. Issei sighed internally. Because I don't want to spend the rest of my life being the third wheel to Matsuda and Motohama . . . or fifth wheel given that Murayama and Katase are included.
