"What do you mean?" asked Lina with a skeptical expression as she looked at Xena, not knowing if she could trust her or not.

"I never was going to kill you, just had to get you to dodge and catch my weapon a few times so you can get the feel for it," said Xena.

"Why?" asked Lina.

"We're both part of the same soul and body, neither of us should have to die so the other one can live," said Xena.

"Then what are we going to do?" asked Lina.

"We can become one mind, that way we have each other's memories and experiences but one of us will have to be in charge while the other takes the back seat again," said Xena.

"All you have to do is shake my hand and we can get started," she said while holding her hand out.

"I don't know," said a hesitant Lina.

"Giving up the life you have had up till now can be scary," said Xena.

"But you and everyone you care for will be in danger, this will at least give you a chance to protect them," she said.

"Alright, if I was really a brave warrior in my past then I had better be one now too, just promise that I can take control every once and a while," said Lina before grabbing Xena's hand.

"You have a deal," said Xena with a smile. Meanwhile, in the main hub of the base, Gabrielle and the others were still standing around talking.

"It's been three hours and she's still out," said Gabrielle.

"She'll wake up when she does, we just have to wait for her to be ready," said Z while standing there reading a magazine.

"Are you talking about me?" asked Lina as she walked in from a side door which led to a living space.

"Lina, you're okay," said Gabrielle while watching the other woman head toward them.

"I am, but you can call me Xena now," said Lina while smiling at the others.

"Was the shock enough to jump start her memories?" asked a surprised Hades.
