Yes I did it. I really did it. I brought her in. God damn it. If I can I will do it. One of my favorites. She will introduce herself in this chapter.
Neighbour/Neighbor? seems to be able to be spelled in two ways. I went with the american spelling here.
I added some stuff in the last second because I still had ideas. I hope they don't contradict each other.
Is it interesting that this upload comes on a Friday the 13th? And in October. 2023. I actually realized that just before releasing the chapter... So I had to release it tonight.
The Doorbell rang
I open the door
A girl with light pink hair was there
And brown eyes
About my age
"Hello I am your new neighbor.
My name is Sonogami Rinne.
But you can just call me Rinne.
I hope we can get along well in the future."
She said with a beautiful smile
Although she was just a normal girl
Somehow she seemed special
For no specific reason
She looked kind of puzzled
Well I was kind of staring at her for a while now
"Is there something wrong?"
"Ah no.
Everything is fine.
My name is Itsuka Shidou.
I live here together with my two siblings.
Ehm... Why don't you just come in for now?
Then you can meet them as well.
Also you came just at the right time.
We are just about to have dinner.
So you can join us if you want to."
I start to regain my stance
What is wrong with me today?

I don't have anything else planned for today.
Since I just moved in."
She is just so bright

For some reason I took her hand and held it

This bizarre feeling was gone now
I thought something was off
But her smile just blew it away

I am getting kind of nervous
But she also has this soothing and calming feeling
I do think we can get along well
Apart from the things with Spirit dating...
And Kotori had my back most of the time

I have never had an extencive conversation with a girl

"I would love to as well."
"Hey Shidou.

Is someone there?"

Author's notes and ALOT this time. Spoilers incoming for Rinne. If you do not want to get spoilered do not continue:
Yes it is a crossover with Rinne Utopia. Although this is not a crossover story. At the start it was not. She is the protagonist there. Or was. And also the main antagonist Eden/Ruler. And kind of dies... Tragically. If you do not get together with any of the girls it is implied that she gets together with Shidou... Well let's pretend that that is not relevant in any shape or form somewhere along the line. Because nothing has concequences in Date a Live. Say hello to Kurumi Tokisaki for me.
I did not include things in future or other games for this story. She is also not a Spirit here. Although I played all 3 DaL! dating sims. Rio Reincarnation platinum.
She also has an easteregg appearence in Date a Live season 3. Episode 9. Phantom takes on Rinnes appearance.
This is what I knew!
What I did not know:
I looked at the Date a Live! wiki and it says Mayuri is her sister..? Which is not mentioned in the Mayuri Judgement Film or the 3 Date a Live games... Or the Anime. Ehm. Who wrote that? I mean fine. But where is the evidence? Maybe in the Manga? I even looked at what is written about Rinne in Ren Dystopia. She is not her sister in Ren Dystopia. Ren is there though it seems.
(I look into the wiki when writing once in a while to make sure I did not accidentally forget anything... But sometimes weird things come up. Depending on what you are writing about.)
But she is one of my favourite characters. I just love Rinne so much. I instantly fell in love with her the moment I saw her and her compassion for Shidou. Also the way she just instantly harmonizes with anyone right off the bat. And if I can write a story and setting in which she does not die I will do it!
A heart for Rinne. You always try so hard to help Shidou. You are always nice. You always support him in getting the other girls. And you always get the short end of the stick... The only time you get a kiss from Shidou you die... It was a good finale to a good game. But that was just a dick move!
