Chapter 1595

XM177E2

The van with the Gray in it tried to make a run for it. The Fanatics closed up behind him.

"This needs to end." Summer said.

Summer called for a 'fire' mission. She provided CamNet with several different options to have available.

The Fanatics watched the van make a sharp turn at too high of a speed. It almost flipped over, but stayed upright. It appeared to have been on only two wheels briefly. It shot up a driveway and disappeared between two buildings. It looked like a lucky break for them.

"We've got him now." The first Fanatic said.

They moved to follow the van.

The Gray in the van knew he'd made a mistake. He went between two buildings. He was now behind one of them. There was nowhere to go. There was another building directly in front of him. He would need to make a run for it on foot. He liked the mobility the van offered, but it currently exhibited a number of bullet holes. The three dead men inside didn't help anything either. It looked like the building he was behind wasn't in use. It appeared to be another victim of the hard times.

He looked back and saw the Fanatic's car between the two buildings. It looked like they would remain there to prevent his retreat. He thought it was a good thing. They would have more ground to cover to get to him on foot. It would present him with better target opportunities.

The Gray drove right up to the building in the back. The van screeched to a halt. He quickly grabbed several weapons from the dead and got out. He moved up to a wall covered with graffiti and tried the door, it was locked. He quickly moved on to the next door. It hung open. He looked back as he entered the building. He saw the car head in his direction. He paused and looked back at the van. Maybe he could make it back and drive away again. There was a gunshot. A bullet ricocheted off of the wall in front of him. He went inside the door. He would at least have some cover.

Moments ago:

The Fanatics pulled into the gap between the two buildings and paused. They saw the Gray get out and head for the building.

The first Fanatic assessed the current situation.

"He doesn't have a lot of choices now." The first Fanatic said.

The second Fanatic wanted the Gray to commit himself.

"Wait here until he's too far from the van to get back to it." The second Fanatic said.

They watched as the Gray tried one door and moved on to the next.

The first Fanatic wanted to prompt the Gray to move further away from the van.

"Take a shot at him." The first Fanatic said.

The second Fanatic did. The Gray ran inside the building.

The Fanatics drove up to the van. They were down to one pistol with a partially used magazine.

The first Fanatic hoped to recover some firearms, or even just some ammunition they could use.

"Cover the door. I'll check for any weapons in the van." The first Fanatic said.

He exited the car and moved to the van. He saw there were three dead men inside. He was able to recover two weapons and a few extra magazines.

The Fanatics now both carried a pistol and one long gun.

They moved away from the van and their car towards the door the Gray went into.

The second Fanatic was very pleased he was able to rearm himself. His pistol ran dry during the chase and ensuing shootout.

"We've got him now." The second Fanatic said again.

The first Fanatic laughed. He thought there was some irony to the whole thing. They were almost completely out of ammunition, now they weren't, thanks to the Grays.

"We're going to kill him with his own weapons." The first Fanatic said.

Bob slowed down some as Jim checked the drone footage. It looked like both vehicles boxed themselves in.

Kyle and Derek gripped their weapons. They were ready for action.

Bob drove the SUV between the two buildings and paused before either enemy vehicle could see them. They watched the drone footage.

Derek wanted to engage the men out in the open.

"Let's drive up and take them." Derek said.

Kyle agreed. It seemed as if the men were trapped. He could see there was nowhere for them to go.

"They're boxed in." Kyle said.

They were surprised by the next voice. It wasn't one they expected to hear during the height of a combat operation.

"Wait a few more seconds." Summer said.

The team all looked at each other. They knew something was about to happen.

CamNet's Terminator watched as the two men went back into the collapsed opening.

The Terminator heard what the two men said. There was evidently some of the system still left. He quickly notified CamNet of the situation. She instructed him to follow them inside.

He checked the drone image around him. There was a lot which couldn't be seen because of the tree cover. The drone was at too high of an altitude to do any type of thermal or infrared scan.

No vehicles approach the area. No one was spotted on foot. If anyone else was there, they were there for some time.

The Terminator made his way towards the opening. He paused outside to listen.

The two men started inside of the passageway.

"Just follow me." The first man said. "Watch your head. There are some pieces of rebar hanging down. If you see the crumbled concrete on the ground it's usually where they're at."

The second man was sure it was a bad idea before he even entered. With the new warning, it seemed like an even worse idea. The passageway they were about to go through was obviously unstable. Crumbled concrete and hanging rebar sounded like an accident waiting to happen.

"I don't know if we even need to do this." The second man said.

The first man was only following their instructions.

"We were supposed to see what we could find at the locations they gave us." The first man said. "It's exactly what we're doing now. We don't know what's here until we look."

The second man continued to follow the first man. He sure hoped the battery in his phone didn't go out. He'd tried to turn it off several times, but he'd always tripped on something he couldn't see well from the light of the first man's phone in front of him. He looked behind him several times and didn't see anything. He sure hoped they weren't being followed by someone. What made it even worse was, they didn't even know where they were going.

"How much farther is it until the passageway opens up?" The second man asked.

The first man knew it was after he went through the zigzag. He could see it up ahead.

"It's just a little further." The first man said. "It's right by where it looks like a dead end. It isn't."

The two men continued along and went through the zigzag. The passageway was noticeably less damage once they were through it.

"Look, now it's almost wide open." The first man said. "It will be once we reach the intersection."

The second man was able to turn his light off. He didn't want to be stuck in there in total darkness. It was bad enough going through there and being able to see. He couldn't imagine what it would be like in total darkness.

The first man reached the junction a short time later.

"Here we are." The first man said. "This is as far as I went before. It looks like smooth sailing."

The second man took a moment to look in the other direction at the junction. The collapsed passageway didn't exactly look like 'smooth sailing' to him. He figured it was only a matter of time until the area they just passed through looked exactly the same way. It would probably be with them underneath it too.

"I thought this was a bad idea before." The second man said. "Now I know it is."

The Terminator waited until he couldn't hear the men in front of him anymore. He didn't want to lose contact with them. He entered the collapsed opening and started forward.

Anna and Young Allison shut everything down and locked up the house. They headed out to the SUV. Mel was behind the wheel. Randy and Brian were behind him in the other SUV. They drove away from the house and headed for the airport.

Young Allison took one look back. She knew everything was about to change.

It was clear they were headed for the airport.

Young Allison was excited. She would like to know a little more about what was going to happen.

"Where are we going?" Young Allison asked.

She was filled with anticipation.

Mel looked over.

"We're going to the airport." Mel said.

Young Allison looked at him and frowned. She already knew where they were headed. She wanted to know what the destination was.

"I mean after we arrive there." Young Allison said.

Anna would like to have been able to give her an answer. She didn't know either.

"None of us know." Anna said. "CamNet is running everything."

The rest of the ride was mostly silent.

There was a small private jet setting where they normally would start out from. It was a Learjet 40 or LJ40. It was for a crew of two and seven passengers.

Young Allison didn't recognize it. Unless it was recently acquired, it didn't belong to the Resistance.

"It's not one of our aircraft." Young Allison said.

Anna was updated. It was there for a specific reason.

"It will cause less attention to where we're headed." Anna said.

Young Allison did know the aircraft they normally flew made an impression on everyone. The power which emanated from a Warbird was obvious to all. Most of them possessed engines which were the most powerful engines available at the time they were created.

"We still don't know where it will be." Young Allison said.

They parked the SUV and Mel went inside. The jet was already ready to go. They would fly to their unknown destination. Mel would bring the jet back.

Brian and Randy weren't going to go. It didn't set well with Young Allison. She wanted her Detail to share with Anna and her. She felt as if they were part of her 'personal family'. It didn't matter if one of them was a Resistance Terminator, and two of them were Cameron's Terminators. They always watched over her.

"I want them to go with us." Young Allison said. "There's plenty of room."

All of their coms were monitored by CamNet.

CamNet listened to Young Allison. Brian and Randy would now accompany them. Both SUVs were parked and locked up. Everything inside of them was secured.

Mel made sure everyone was on board and closed the door.

It was clear who the pilot and copilot were going to be.

Anna showed Young Allison to the copilot's seat. She climbed into the pilot's seat.

"I'll show and tell you what to do." Anna said.

Young Allison was thrilled about being in the jet. She would be able to fly it for part of the way. She never flew this particular type of aircraft before.

Anna went over the start up procedure. The jet was soon ready to taxi.

Young Allison wanted to play it safe.

"You can take it off and get us near our cruising altitude." Young Allison said. "I'll try it on the way up."

Anna didn't want any aerobatics with the rented jet.

"Don't do anything fancy." Anna said. "This isn't modified like Cameron's aircraft are."

Young Allison didn't want an accident. She was aware all of Cameron's aircraft possessed strengthened air-frames. She didn't want to inadvertently exceed the aerodynamic capabilities of the aircraft.

"I'll follow the rules." Young Allison said. "Is this the surprise?"

Anna was updated by CamNet.

"No." Anna said. "This is just to get us there and not raise any undue attention."

Anna taxied to the runway and brought the engines up to takeoff power.

Young Allison was thrilled as Anna released the brakes and they rocketed down the runway. They were airborne in no time. Anna didn't make too aggressive of a climb, but she was near the limits of the plane's capabilities. She only needed to remember Anna's base program was Cameron's program.

"This is so cool." Young Allison said.

Sarah stopped by to check on Jan. She was fine. They carried out a brief conversation.

"You need to learn strategy." Sarah said. "I want you to be like John."

Jan was aware John was busy now.

"I'm sure I will be." Jan said.

Sarah smiled and excused herself. It was time to check up on Kyle. She didn't think he was in danger. She did want to know how much more free time she could swing.

She thought about who she could be with next. She realized it didn't matter. All of the girls were great to be with.

Sarah headed for the Command Center.

John Henry and Summer saw Sarah was about to visit them. They were in the middle of an operation.

Summer was about to have CamNet carry out a 'metal hail' fire mission for her.

John Henry was a little concerned about what repercussions may occur.

"Sarah is going to see where Kyle is." John Henry said.

Summer needed to act. The mission came before any residual flak she might receive.

"It is what it is." Summer said.

Sarah walked into the Command Center.

"Hello. I wanted to check up on Kyle." Sarah said.

John Henry directed her to John's station.

"There's an operation about to start." John Henry said.

Sarah looked around the Command Center. She wondered why John's station was vacant.

"Where's John at?" Sarah asked.

John Henry didn't want to get into personal affairs.

"He's taking care of a few things." John Henry said.

He showed her where Kyle was at. He didn't include what happened earlier. The running gun battle, complete with the exploding building and car, weren't part of the presentation. He didn't need any unnecessary flak.

Sarah was a little alarmed at what the drone images showed.

"Is it still a recon?" Sarah asked.

John Henry was aware of what Summer was about to do. So far their team only observed the events which occurred around them. There was no need to point out some of the events were manipulated or instigated by them.

"For our team it is." John Henry said. "It won't be for the others."

Sarah watched as two armed men approached a building while the SUV Kyle was in remained out of sight. She wasn't sure who the two men were, other than the enemy.

"Are those Grays?" Sarah asked.

Summer was in the back. She wanted to make their position and impending actions clear.

"They're Fanatics." Summer said. "It's why the team has been held back."

Sarah wasn't surprised to see Summer there. She knew the Fanatics were dangerous.

"Are they a threat to Kyle?" Sarah asked.

Summer smiled.

"I wouldn't worry about them." Summer said.

The glassiness of Claire's eyes soon cleared up and her breathing was normal, even if it remained slightly labored.

"That - was - amazing - 'Cameron'." Claire said slowly.

Camille-Hanna smiled.

"'Cameron' only delivers the best." Camille-Hanna said.

Claire needed to rest some and get back to 'normal'. It didn't take too long.

"It was out of this world." Claire said. "Thank You."

Camille-Hanna didn't want to make a habit of it.

"It's not good to go as far as you just did, too often." Camille-Hanna said.

Jesse told Claire she needed to be 'revived' more than a few times. Jesse made it clear she went over the 'edge' to the 'other side'. She was very satisfied with what she experienced personally.

"It's very pleasurable." Claire said.

Hanna was sure Claire liked her in a 'Cameron clone' chassis.

"Would you like me to keep this chassis?" Camille-Hanna asked.

Claire's eyes widened. She wasn't exactly sure what she meant.

"Can you?" Claire asked. "I mean like forever?"

Camille-Hanna was a little disappointed at Claire's enthusiasm. She liked her normal appearance. She wanted to make it seem like more of an offer than an absolute.

"I can borrow one like it more often." Camille-Hanna said.

Claire frowned. She could see she may have offended Hanna. She wanted to give her an important reminder.

I'm sorry. I like you however you are." Claire said. "I didn't mean to seem rude. You're very beautiful. Remember, I chose you over Ally and Sheila."

Camille-Hanna would talk to Sheila and see if she could swap with her. She thought it would be a treat for Claire. She was hesitant to do so. Every time she did it, her chassis was always returned with the 'Barbie' look. She didn't care if Sheila told her people paid good money to have the procedure performed. It was always traumatic for a few days until everything regenerated.

"It's fine." Camille-Hanna said.

Claire checked the time. It was well past lunch at this point.

"Maybe I need to see how everyone is doing." Claire said.

CamNet contacted Camille-Hanna. She didn't want Summer disturbed.

"Everyone is fine." Camille-Hanna said. "Let's go all the way again."

Claire's eyes widened.

"Just like before?" Claire asked.

Camille-Hanna smiled.

"Yes." Camille-Hanna said. "Lay back and enjoy the ride. We'll go there slower this time. It will give you even more pleasure."

In seconds, Claire didn't care about anyone or anything.

John was a little concerned at Cam-Holly's response. He didn't think it was because of a lack of performance on his part.

"How was it?" John asked.

Cam-Holly knew if she wanted to look like Allison, this was how it was. There was no other way to do it. It just wasn't as good as it was in her own chassis. She didn't want to dwell on it. She smiled.

"It was wonderful, John." Cam-Holly said.

She wanted to try it on top once when John was ready again. She knew it would be a while longer. She was aware males were at a major disadvantage for love making.

John kissed her again.

"We can do whatever you want next." John said.

Cam-Holly smiled.

"I can think of a few things." Cam-Holly said.

They cuddled and touched each other.

Cam-Holly noticed John didn't spend as much time fondling her as he did with her chassis. She could tell he liked the much larger size breasts on her sheath. She replayed her files and noticed Allison did the same thing. Maybe Allison did like her sheath better than one which looked like her own appearance. It was apparent size did matter about more than one thing.

She continued to touch John as the time passed. She was able to replay many of her own files. She could relive the better experiences in her own chassis while she waited for John to be able to perform again.

John was soon stimulated again. She 'started him up' and he was ready again.

"Lay back and relax." Cam-Holly said. "My turn…."

John watched Cam-Holly go to work. The pleasure was intense. Right now she was 'Cameron' to him. He did miss Holly's sheath though. It was one of his favorites.

Cam-Holly started in. She knew right away it was going to take awhile. It was a good thing she didn't get tired. She just hoped John could hold out long enough for her to make it. She did notice overall he didn't seem to be as excited about her current appearance as he did when she was in her own chassis. There were a lot of factors to consider before any trade became permanent. Both John's and Allison's reactions were noticeably different to her appearance.

Sheila and Leticia were at the shooting range for the fully automatic weapons.

The attendants brought over an XM177E2 and an M4A1.

The XM177E2 was fitted with a moderator. There was a suppressor on the M4A1.

Sheila asked for an M16A1 and an M2 Carbine as well so she could show Leticia the difference in sound levels between suppressed and non suppressed weapons.

"Let's start you out with the 'Carbine'." Sheila said. "The M1 Carbine shot semi auto only. The M2 Carbine has a selector, like the Thompson, so it can be semi auto or fully automatic."

Leticia looked at the weapon. It had a wood stock and felt light after firing the two versions of the Thompson submachine guns.

"Wow!" Leticia said. "This almost feels weightless after the gangster guns."

Sheila was aware most 'Carbines' weighed around five and a quarter, to five and a half, pounds based on the density of the wooden stock.

"It's a lightweight all right." Sheila said. "The round operates under very high pressure. It's roughly equivalent to a magnum pistol round."

Sheila fired it a few times and then showed Leticia what to do.

Leticia was very impressed with the ease of handling of the firearm. She thought it was easy to change the magazine and cock it to shoot.

"I kind of like this." Leticia said. "It's easy for me to use."

Leticia did much better on full auto with the M2 than she did with either version of the Thompson.

Sheila switched to the M16A1.

Leticia recognized the weapon right away.

"I've seen these before." Leticia said. "They're in a lot of movies."

Sheila went over the operation of the weapon. She fired it both semi-auto and fully automatic. She thought it would be a fairly simple transition for Leticia.

Leticia hefted the M16.

"This isn't too much heavier than the M2 Carbine was." Leticia said. "The feel of it is very different."

Sheila knew it was more powerful and much louder. The recoil wasn't much more oppressive.

"It's a lot lighter than its contemporaries." Sheila said. "It's been highly modified over the years, probably more so than any other firearm. There is everything from a pistol, to a belt fed machine gun version."

Leticia didn't have any trouble with the M16. She did find it much easier to cock the bolt on the M2 than on the M16. It seemed much simpler with everything out in the open and right in front of her.

Sheila asked the attendant to bring her a hundred round magazine. She fired the entire contents of the magazine into a half inch circle in the center of the target. The attendants looked on in amazement. They all knew it was impossible, but the hot Asian chick from Down Under was more skilled than anyone they ever saw.

Leticia watched Sheila shoot as white smoke poured off of the barrel and out of the hand guard.

Sheila handed it back to the attendant.

"Be careful of the barrel, love." Sheila said. "It's really hot."

Leticia leaned over close to Sheila.

"So are you." Leticia said.

Sheila smiled and picked up the next weapon. She was aware there were several versions of it. The version specifically made for the Air Force was the GAU-5/A/A. It lacked the forward assist feature on the weapon they were about to use. She decided to keep her explanation simple for Leticia.

"This is an XM177E2." Sheila said. "It's a lightweight carbine version of the M16. The barrel is only eleven and a half inches long. The barrel on the M16 you just used was twenty inches long."

Leticia looked at the end of the barrel. She wasn't quite sure exactly what was on it. She pointed at the device.

"Is it a silencer?" Leticia asked.

Sheila looked over at the M4. It was fitted with a suppressor. The XM177E2 wasn't.

"It was referred to as a 'moderator'. It could best be described as a fancy flash hider." Sheila said. "The short barrel gave off a massive muzzle flash. The M4 has a suppressor on it. The rounds can only be truly silenced with subsonic ammunition. With supersonic ammunition, you can suppress the sound so it's not as loud."

Sheila fired the XM177E2. It was very loud and still gave off a pretty good flash signature.

"They made versions and variations of this weapons family in pistol calibers which could be silenced. They were basically a sub-machine gun at that point." Sheila said. "There were usually better choices in the same calibers for other weapons."

Leticia fired it both semi-auto and fully automatic.

"This is only a little bit heavier than the M2 Carbine was." Leticia said. "I can feel it's much more powerful. I don't really like the stock. I guess it takes some getting used to."

The XM177E2 and M4A1 were both fitted with a 'collapsible' stock.

Sheila switched to the M4A1 with the suppressor.

"This is an M4A1 Carbine. It's a modern version of the XM177E2." Sheila said. "The barrel is longer. It's approximately fourteen and half inches in length. With the addition of the suppressor, it brings it back up to the length of the M16. It's a heck of a lot quieter."

Sheila fired the weapon.

"It's way quieter than the last one." Leticia said.

Sheila handed it to Leticia. It was noticeably heavier to her than the previous firearm was.

Leticia fired it both semi-auto and fully automatic.

"I like this one too." Leticia said. "The XM - whatever, was lighter though. I can handle the newer weapon along with its suppressor."

Sheila was pleased. It was what the Resistance most often used for long guns. The ones used by the Terminators were normally equipped with an M203 grenade launcher mounted below them.

Young Jesse and Hanna-Camille quietly slipped out. There was an SUV waiting for them.

"They won't be upset we left will they?" Young Jesse asked.

Hanna-Camille didn't think so.

"They'll have a good time at the shooting range." Hanna-Camille said. "We can drive around and stop wherever you want to."

They drove the full length of the Strip and even to Downtown. It actually took much longer than she thought it would.

Young Jesse didn't think Las Vegas was as grand as everyone made it out to be. Laura said it looked better at night. She didn't care for all the small shops and liquor stores mixed in between the casinos. She thought it really looked tacky.

The girls on the jet quickly put on the protective gear.

Mary and Laura were still a little concerned the 'special girls' didn't wear any body armor themselves. They weren't really sure how they could take a 'little punishment' in the form of gunfire.

They all headed for the airstair. It was time to go.

Mary looked around. She didn't spot Young Jesse anywhere.

"Where did Jesse go?" Mary asked.

Cammy knew they wanted to do other things.

"We'll meet up with her later on." Cammy said.

The six girls went down the airstair.

Cammy secured the door and raised the airstair after them.

There was an SUV waiting for them. They headed out towards the shooting range where Leticia and Sheila were.

Mary rode in the front with Cammy.

Cammy looked over at Mary and smiled. She reached her hand over and touched Mary's leg high up on the inner thigh.

Mary swallowed hard. She knew she was Cammy's 'property' now. She wasn't sure when it happened, but it did. She was now a submissive. She knew the 'special girls' were capable of extreme violence and intense pleasure. She really wondered what she got herself into. She looked down at her ballistic vest and touched it. Maybe she was about to become an outlaw. She was present for some 'extreme punishment' and killings already. Somehow her old life was meaningless. She knew Leticia wanted this lifestyle. Maybe she should too. She reached over and squeezed Cammy's leg the same way. The smile got bigger on Cammy's face.

Cammy questioned what she was doing. Savannah was only with Cameron for less than a day. Would Cameron 'give back' Savannah? If she didn't, Mary was hers. She would need to 'replace' Savannah in her existence to avoid a catastrophic melt down.

Laura watched Cammy and Mary interact. It was clear Mary was off the market. She looked over at Ally.

Ally looked at her and smiled. She touched Laura the same way Cammy did to Mary. She went higher up until she touched everything there, when there was nowhere else to go.

Laura swallowed hard and smiled. She reached over and touched Ally the same way.

She wondered if the 'special girls' were ever going to let her go.

Mary and Laura looked at each other. They were now 'owned' by robots! They looked to the back seat and Tricia and Holly-Cam were there. A few hours ago Tricia didn't even exist. Now here she was as an exact copy of Leticia. They couldn't even tell it wasn't Leticia earlier. They still couldn't. Were they next?

Cammy drove past a clown themed casino adorned in the colors of pink and white. They spotted the military vehicles and tanks in the parking lot. There was even what appeared to be a couple of helicopters.

"Is this for real?" Mary asked. "We're right in the middle of Las Vegas."

Cammy tilted her head slightly.

"This is Nevada." Cammy said. "Anything goes."

Cammy was going to mention there was legalized prostitution in the next county over but thought better of it. She didn't want to make the girls think they might put them to work in one of them. If they wanted the money from any establishment, they would just take it. Who could stop them?

Samantha and Gail were together.

Riley went to 'work' on Vanna. She gave it her best effort.

The girls switched it around and went back to 'work'.

Everyone wanted more time with Riley. There was a lot of lost time to make up and everyone wanted to do it. Not only was Riley someone 'new', they wanted to make known what their earlier desires actually were. They were able to convey everything to Riley without any words needing to be spoken.

Riley wanted to cry at times when she saw how much everyone shared with her now. She realized they wanted to do it all along. She knew it was all Future Riley's fault. If she ever came across her, she would kill her herself. She thought about it for a moment. She would kill 'herself', herself, for all practical purposes. She hoped she never did anything to make the younger version of herself, in this time period, feel the same way about her. It was possible she might.

Jesse wanted to reassure Allison there would be a lot of people to help her.

"We have plenty of people to assist us." Jesse said. "You know the Metal girls all want to help too."

Allison did know it. She was still afraid she wouldn't be good enough.

Jesse didn't think it would be a problem. She decided to make Allison forget about things which hadn't happened yet. She knew if Vanna wasn't around, Allison would have 'belonged' to her. Now Allison's mother did. She concentrated on Allison and sent her to heaven and kept her there. She wanted to do the same thing to Claire right now. She knew she would need to wait a little bit. She wanted to let Allison know what she really wanted.

Allison's mind soon clouded with pleasure.

"I want a three way with Claire and you." Jesse whispered.

Allison was in a far off place, but she didn't care. Right now she would do anything for Jesse.

"OK." Allison gasped.

Jesse intensified her efforts.

Savannah and Cameron were in the hot tub.

Cameron did wonder why the boat was so slow now. The ride was very smooth, but it would delay their arrival back at the cabin suite.

She didn't know what Jameron knew.

The speed picked up a little.

Savannah didn't care about the speed of the boat. The journey which occurred on the boat is what she thought about.

"This is the best day ever." Savannah said.

Cameron looked at Savannah. She couldn't agree with her more. She really couldn't think of anything which could actually be more beautiful in appearance or what transpired.

"It is for me too." Cameron said.

Savannah moved over and kissed Cameron. She knew it was up to her to provide a little moderation to the events. She was aware Cameron could easily get off on a tangent. She wanted to give her a gentle reminder of the actual reality.

"We need to remember who we belong to." Savannah whispered.

Cameron tilted her head slightly. She was done with John. Savannah was the only one she wanted.

"We belong to each other." Cameron said.

Savannah didn't want Cameron to jump the gun.

"There are others too." Savannah said.

Cameron tilted her head slightly. She could think of a few of them.

"Yes." Cameron said. "I want them too."

Jameron returned to the bridge. It was time to get back to the cabin suite. He would need to go to the airport soon. CamNet didn't want his chassis there any longer than it needed to be.

He continued to spy on Cameron and Savannah. He understood the nature of their conversation. It was what CamNet set into motion.

Lena wanted to take a look around before they went inside the abandoned building. There were no vehicles on the outside but they didn't know exactly who would be on the inside.

Tina remained in the SUV with the two captives.

Lena went to pull a couple of boards loose over one of the doors. The door behind it opened without her having to do so. She didn't take it as a good sign.

She carefully made her way inside. The interior was dark. She used several of her vision spectrums to scan the area. No one was detected. She moved out of the rear room. She went into a hallway. There were some scurrying noises in front of her. She caught sight of several rodents as they ran across the end of the hall.

There were several rooms on either side of the hall. All of them showed signs of vandalism as well as graffiti. So far there was no sign of anyone.

Lena would have preferred a low level drone scan if it was possible. It wasn't.

She exited the hall into the main part of the building. It really wasn't what she wanted to see.

Tina waited in the SUV with the two men. Both of them had started to come around again. She repeated the previous procedure. They were both unconscious again.

Cameron and Young Allison decided to head back to the Valley.

Young Allison took another look behind them. There were no red lights or sirens.

"I don't see anyone after us." Young Allison said.

Cameron took some further evasive action. She'd made several lefts as well as several rights. They continue to move throughout the area in a northwest direction.

Young Allison looked up and spotted a 707 on approach to LAX.

"There's another 707." Young Allison said. "It looks a little shorter."

Cameron looked up and identified the aircraft.

"It's a Boeing 720. It's a slightly shorter model." Cameron said. "Very few of them were made. It was discontinued after only a couple of years of production."

She noticed there were a lot fewer flights in 1963 than there were in her time period. Even though people thought the aircraft currently in use were big, they were actually small by more modern standards.

Young Allison was a little unsure as to what they would do next.

"Are we going to go back on Sepulveda, Topanga, or one of the canyon roads?" Young Allison asked.

Cameron was aware there were multiple routes open to her. She didn't think any of the canyon roads would be a good choice. They were even narrower and curvier in 1963 than they would be decades later.

"I think we can cut up on La Cienega Boulevard." Cameron said. "It will still give us access to the canyon roads, Cahuenga Pass, or Sepulveda Pass."

Cameron traveled westbound on Manchester Boulevard.

Young Allison noticed there was a large cemetery on the north side of the street. She knew it was the final resting place for thousands. She wondered how many people still visited their relatives after a few years. She didn't think there were many.

"I doubt I'll ever end up in one of those." Young Allison said.

Cameron suppressed a glitch impulse. She understood exactly what Young Allison meant. It indicated not only would she be terminated in the future, but it would probably be the result of a nuclear blast and she would be vaporized. It made her think about her own existence.

"I don't know where I'll end up at myself." Cameron said.

Young Allison didn't want to make Cameron worry about anything.

"I think we're in Inglewood." Young Allison said. "I saw the signs for Hollywood Park just a short time ago."

Cameron knew there would be a lot of changes around the area where they currently were. It would be everywhere except the cemetery they were passing.

"Hollywood Park will eventually be ripped out and replaced with a multi-use venue. The Forum will be built right across the street from where we're at now. It's still a few years away. It will primarily be used for basketball for a number of years and then go through a variety of other usages."

Young Allison saw they passed over Prairie Avenue again.

"I see all roads lead to Rome." Young Allison said.

Cameron glanced down at the gas gauge. It was further down at the Hawthorne airport where they tanked up on the avgas earlier.

Young Allison noticed a street with a familiar name.

"There's La Brea Avenue." Young Allison said. "I guess we could always go to the La Brea Tar Pits."

Cameron turned north onto La Brea avenue. They reached Florence Avenue a short time later. They crossed over a set of railroad tracks.

"Those are the Santa Fe tracks." Cameron said. "They cross over the east end of the long runways at LAX. One time a Western DC-7 made a very low landing as a freight train was passing. The landing gear actually bounced off the top of one of the boxcars. It didn't cause a derailment, nor did it damage the landing gear of the aircraft. Both of those events could have occurred. The right of way will eventually be used for a light rail line. They've converted the section which runs along the east end of the runway to below ground level to prevent any such incident occurring with any passengers."

Young Allison could picture the incident in her mind. She knew it was Aviation Boulevard which paralleled the tracks across the east end of the long runways. Later on, one of her favorite restaurants would be built in the approximate location. It was the Proud Bird. They had a number of replica aircraft, and even a few original World War I and later aircraft on display there. The majority of them were fiberglass replicas. They still looked cool. She always liked to see the bright orange Bell X-1 which was there. It was a replica of the aircraft Chuck Yeager flew when he broke the sound barrier in level flight in 1947. He was actually the second man to break the sound barrier. The first man was George Welsh in the XP-86. He broke the sound barrier in a power dive. It was never an official event. The credit went to Chuck Yeager. He was a worthy pilot in many regards.

Cameron turned west on Centinela Avenue. She drove it a short distance until she picked up La Cienega Boulevard. She turned north.

"This will take us through the Baldwin Hills from Inglewood into Culver City." Cameron said. "We'll pass through a number of oil fields. We should be able to see a mansion up on one of the hills. It was constructed in 1896. It looks very much out of place surrounded by nothing but working oil wells. It's usually referred to as the 'Oil Field Mansion'."

Cameron always felt something very familiar when she looked at it.

Young Allison spotted Slauson Avenue. It wasn't the only thing she spotted.

"Check it out." Young Allison said. "There's an XKE and a Cobra."

Cameron knew there was a long three mile stretch of La Cienega through the Baldwin Hills without any cross streets. It was known for street racing events dating back to the Thirties. There were a few curves to it. It was generally straight and the curves weren't sharp.

"They're getting ready to race." Cameron said.

Young Allison hoped they would see it.

"I think the Cobra will take him." Young Allison said.

Cameron thought it would depend upon the engine in each of the vehicles.

"The XKE might have the advantage in overall top speed." Cameron said. "If the Cobra doesn't have a 260 in it, he should be able to beat him in the street race."

Cameron knew the performance of a Cobra with a HiPo 289 was almost identical to the Stingray they raced earlier with a special fuel injected current variant of the Hipo 289 produced 271 horsepower. The fuel injected 327 produced 360 horsepower. The lighter weight of the Cobra allowed it to compete with the Corvette which weighed nearly a thousand pounds more. A 306 horsepower variant of the HiPo 289 would be available soon for the Mark II Cobra giving it a further advantage. The Mark III Cobra with the same engine in the Galaxie Lightweight, was still a few years away. The dual quad version would be rated at 485 horsepower, in a vehicle which only weighed a few hundred pounds more than a Mark II.

She followed the two cars as they turned north onto La Cienega Boulevard. She wondered if they were going to go all the way up to Sunset Boulevard and race around Dead Man's Curve. She wasn't going to suggest it to Young Allison.

She remembered when she took Riley to the beach one time. They were going to drive around Hollywood on the way back. She pulled over as two cars were racing eastbound on Sunset Boulevard. A short time later, she could see where one of the vehicles skidded off the side and went through the guardrail. She needed to go part way down the hill on foot. She needed to flip the car over to get the driver out as it started to burn. She tore off the driver's door from the crushed vehicle. It wasn't a problem for her. She carried him back up the hill. Riley already called for medical assistance. They remained with the driver until they could see the ambulance coming. They drove away so they wouldn't be questioned.

They watched as the two cars waited for a break in the traffic. They didn't want any vehicles in front of them.

The Cobra and the Jag moved out onto the street. They were side by side. They were ready to 'go'.

Cameron pulled up alongside of them. They were three abreast. The other two drivers looked a little surprised.

Follow The Rules

Many things are complicated
Few of them are simple
Especially when some of those things
Are governed by principle

To get stuck on a tangent
Is not always an aberration
It can be because of
Some form of misguided regulation

There are few things in life
On which everyone will agree
One of them for sure
Is to live under decree

Chaos is not welcome
Events tend to form into a pattern
Routine makes it easier
When it's time to govern

It seems to be
It's only the fools
Who do what's right
And follow the rules

Nobody
